You have awakened on a Ghost Island, not just any ghost island, but a ghosted version of Long Island, NY. Not another living soul around. There are several situations you may find yourself in initially when you first wake up.

In you home or apartment if you already lived on the island.
In you car - stopped - if you were on the road.
Homeless, if you were.
On a subway. (They still run right on schedule.)
On a bus - if you were on one.
In your seat on a plane - at the airport (either at the terminal or sitting on the taxiway).
On a boat (if you were on one). You WILL be docked.

If you are from this area, you will be one up on others. (I said you woke up alone. That doesn’t mean noone else is on the island. If not, good luck, not my problem. Get a map.

You can do pretty much whatever you want. However, there are some oddities about the Island you need to know. Feel free to roleplay discovering these things.

Stores are stocked - including grocery stores - and the produce and meat are fresh.
Soda machines work.
Cars run (unless they are obviously junk). They never run out of fuel.
Utilities work - however, there are no plugs. (Creepy huh?) No cords either, but the damned things all work.
Phones work - including cell phones. However, you can only call locally. For all public services you will get hold, music, voicemail, etc.
All ammo are blanks. All weapons are fake. (Of course, you can always grab a baseball bat or tire iron.)
Internet works, but you an click on Contact Us and likely never get a response.
You can get as far as midway across a bridge and hit an invisible wall. If you take a boat out you will run into a similar barrier. Same with subway, rail, etc.
Planes will not take off. (Neither will a helicopter.)
Fuel Pumps at Gas Stations don't work. Well, the readouts change, but nothing comes out.

As a spoiler, have you ever read or watched the TV miniseries Riverworld?

One thing I am going to avoid here is a bunch of gangbangers and ex cons. They simply wont fit. ONE ... maybe ... and only after several others are active. It would be an experiment to see what happens. And ... odds are once he's killed, he won't come back.

I asked because some people might try to kill themselves just to see what happens. Or maybe they go mad from the strangeness of the world they are in.

Ahh ... yeah, familiarity with Riverworld is hardly a necessity. Basically yes, people keep being brought back, usually in a fashion similar to either how they arrived, or the moment of their death. So, if you drive a car at 200 mph off a cliff ... you will probably wake up after a short time somewhere ... in a parked car. But if you abuse this and go on a binge of suicide you may not wake up again.

Absolutely. Once approved you can start posting. But it might be best to see if we can get at least one more. After that people can wake up here and there at whatever point in time we are at.

Oh .. I need to add that cars don't run out of fuel - if I didn't already.

Oh ... one thing I realized ... most bike messengers work in Manhattan ... not Long Island. So she might end up in less familiar territory.

Can you copy the character to the Characters folder? Don't want to make everyone search everywhere for characters .... lol.

I am working on a few characters to use in the RP - both male and female. Posted a link to what I have created so far. If you want to start the RP, just let e know which character You'd want me to start with. Depending on which one I end up using, they could start driving all over the island honking a horn ... or just head to a beach.
