“Well I didn’t mean now!” Archer yelled after Ariel as she ran off looking for Marisol. The curly haired boy let out a loud groan and lentback in his chair covering his face with his hands. With a steadying breath Archer stood up and tried to spot where Ariel had gone, to try and stop her from causing a scene with Mari. After scanning the tent two or three times he decided to just wing it and just head in a random direction.

As he moved through the crowd Archer mentally scolded himself. Why was he such and idiot?! Why did he have to bring that shit up at this precise moment?! Swiveling his head around wildly from side to side he finally spotted Ariel in the most random collection of people he could imagine her with. Having what looked like a heated discussion with Kavi, Nadia and Mara. He turned around and headed back towards the parking lot, deciding to let that situation handle itself. Luckily Marisol was nowhere near to be found.

On another part of the dancefloor Chanel, the cocoa queen herself was giving fuckboi #2 hell for some reason. Archer contemplated if he should just white guy dance near them to get the scoop about what it was all about, but ultimately decided against it.

While outside he looked around to see if could escape somewhere, his face lit up when he saw Kavan under soft lights. Archer’s jaw locked when he saw that he was whispering together with Bea. His stomach gurgled uncomfortably, was this… jealousy? Archer bit his lip and took some unsteady steps towards the pair.

“...we tear up that dance floor? Know any moves?” he caught Bea ask.

The boy put on a smile and approached them “Now I got to hear this. How about it Van? Ready to bust a move?” he chuckled. But suddenly he realized that maybe he had interrupted something and quickly started to backpedal “I mean, sorry. I didn’t mean to invite myself. Uh… I just like to dance!” he winced at his last comment. Nice one Arch, great!

Location: Country Club
Interacting with: Bea Endive, Archer Diedrikson

∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴∵∴

"Too much dazzle and sparkle..."

To be quite honest, Kavan wasn't sure that he bought Bea's story of simply being a bit overwhelmed with everything that was going on inside the tent, but he decided against questioning her any further. After all, it wasn't like she was obligated to share the real reason why she'd gotten so upset, and it wasn't like they were close friends or anything of the sort. Instead, the young man simply watched silently as his date took a quick swig from her flask; he couldn't help but wonder how a girl her size could handle her liquor so well. While Bea sipped down the burning liquid with ease, Kavan got slightly nauseous at the thought of taking another drink of the stuff. "Well, that's understandable," he said as she put the flask away, "It is a bit... busy in there."

After Bea flicked away her cigarette, she held her hand out to Kavan and playfully mentioned something about dancing. Kavan nearly shuddered at the idea of "tearing up the dance floor" with Bea; it was no secret that he wasn't one to dance at parties. Hell, if anyone could even convince Van to attend a party, he'd only be in it for the snacks. Nevertheless, Kavan took hold of her hand, but before he could get out another word to her, the two were suddenly interrupted by none other than Archer Diedrikson.

“Now I've got to hear this," the other boy said as he quickly approached the pair, "How about it Van? Ready to bust a move?” In almost an instant, Kavan let go of Bea's hand, letting his own drop back to his side. He turned to face Archer just as he started to backtrack. “I mean, sorry. I didn’t mean to invite myself. Uh… I just like to dance!” Part of Kavan was relieved that his friend had arrived at the time that he did; maybe he'd be able to save him from his impending awkward dance session with Bea and the rest of the students on the dance floor. Another part, however, had suddenly grown self-conscious of little things such as the slightly wet spot on the front of his suit jacket from Bea's makeup wipe or the way he'd been slouching before Archer arrived.

"Sorry to break it to you guys," Kavan said with a nervous chuckle, "But I don't think anyone wants to see me 'bust a move.' I'm not that great of a dancer. Shit, the last time I can even remember dancing was when I was in my cousin Aditya's wedding party. Even then, it was more Bollywood and Punjabi styles of dance... which I'm sure no one here would be too interested in seeing."

L O C A T I O N / / Homecoming at the Country Club
I N T E R A C T I N G W I T H / /Oliver and then Penny

Stella was finding herself becoming more and more comfortable with Oliver. Every move they made, whether it was slow or not, didn’t seem to have any effect on how he was so reserved about dancing. Maybe it had to do with how she led him into a groove. She didn’t know how it seemed to others that may have been watching them, but to her, at the moment she brought him closer, or was it him who brought her closer? She didn’t know, but in his surprisingly sturdy arms, he held her close enough for her to smell his scent and god, she could die right now and she wouldn’t have any regrets, or at least it felt like that.

As their dance slowed down to match the new song that just popped on - a slower one, it felt like - Stella’s heart finally had a chance to slow its pace, but when she stared into his eyes and the way he looked at her made her heart go even faster. In addition, the way her entire body felt as his arms wrapped around waist made the sensation crawling up her spine increase even further. Honestly, Stella wasn’t sure what to do. She wanted to kiss him. She was this close to him and had so many thoughts and feelings coursing through her body all at the same time they slow danced.

And so, in the heat of the slow moment, she threw out all caution and anything that may have her overthinking her situation. Her lips had pressed on Oliver’s and everything seemed to dull out. The romantic setting of Homecoming wasn’t as important or romantic as it was to others. The slow strumming of the instruments of the current song didn’t seem to register. The only thing that Stella wanted to focus on - the only thing she could focus on - was Oliver Greyson who had her in his arms and who she had in hers. As slowly as she pulled away if only to save herself from the beating heart within her from bursting out, she smiled and she was as nervous as any teenage girl could be who had made the first move.

“Oliver, I--”

Before she could mutter out another word, a shocking separation came her way as Penny cut in between her and Oliver. The often forceful brunette had, in her own way, made herself comfortable between the pair, though Stella’s mind was still frozen in the shocking act she had committed to even register that she and Penny were now dancing.

“Huh?” Stella caught up with time and noticed she was in Penny’s arms. “Penny?” Her confusion was apparent, but it still didn’t seem to matter. “I thought you were with Santiago. When did you get here? A Better question: when did you steal me away from Oliver?” She asked, panic starting to set in. “I know I was--I mean, we had just..” Stella calmed herself. “After I kissed him, I don’t really remember much that happened after that.” A panicked Stella admitted to Penny.

L O C A T I O N / / King’s Academy Country Club
I N T E R A C T I O N S / / Mistakes

Just as Kavi Salvador was just starting to have a little fun at this forced homecoming dance, he was met by not one but two highly regrettable mistakes he made. Number one was clearly letting his guard down when it came to girls he dated. He didn’t think they’d actually see him, let alone confront of him at the same time. This sort of thing only happened in movies and even then it wasn’t as anxiety-ridden as his current predicament was proving to be. Who in their right mind would confront a guy while he’s talking to someone else (or at least attempting to)? Clearly, Ariel and Nadia had no patience.

And that brought him to the second mistake he made.

As he let out a sigh, ignoring both Victoire and Mara (the latter choosing to give her two cents), Kavi turned to the beautiful girls now in front of him. Ariel, who was more feisty than Nadia ever could ever hope to be, was justifiably angry, though she can’t say she didn’t have a good time. Their date ended on a high note. Or at least that’s what Kavi thought. Nothing that happened on their date was a dealbreaker to him. Could it have gone a little further than just a goodnight kiss? Perhaps, but Kavi didn’t feel like pressing his luck.

As he thought about that one, the date that happened the day prior was a different story. The date that wasn’t even a real date. Nadia had told Kavi about how she was a little busy and she only had time after some photoshoot she was doing. It didn’t take him that long to put on the charm after he had met her at the hotel she was staying at. In his mind, her inviting him up to the hotel room and alone at that was a clear indicator to him that maybe Naive Nadia wasn’t so naive. So, when they were watching a film, he had made his move. To his genuine surprise, Kavi was immediately rejected. He remembered that night being the first time anyone had rejected his advances. What was even worse, she seemed surprised by his advances. It was almost as though it never registered with her. And she wondered why he never called her back.

He ran his hand through his hair and eyed both of them. “Nadia, you rejected me, so why should I have bothered with a text. At least Ariel didn’t completely turn away when they felt the soft caress of my hand through their hair,” Kavi smiled, looking at Ariel. “Or was that kiss for something else?” He asked her.

Kavi was practically holding in his frustrations from bursting to the surface. He was a lot of things, but he always - he always - made sure he knew everything before it was going to happen. For him to be caught by surprise like this unnerved him in ways he didn’t anticipate. And what was even worse, he didn’t like it one bit.

Her smile widened when Kavan took her hand. She felt it to mean a moment of trust with her and her heart blossomed with the newness of it. There was nothing quite like dancing to let all your anxieties go. Archer approached and spoke to them though and Kavan dropped her hand like it was on fire. Bea looked at her palm, wondering if it was too sweaty. Maybe it was the scent of cigarettes? She wiped her hand on her skirt just in case and offered Archer an uncharacteristically welcoming smile. The alcohol made her feel a bit more expressive about what she felt. Another to dance with? Of course she couldn't pass that up! "Yes, please join us," she said in her usual quiet and expressionless tone which contrasted with the small smile on her face. It would take a bit for the acohol to change that. Or perhaps a thrill.

"Sorry to break it to you guys." Kavan's laugh made her raise an eyebrow. How could so many people be embaressed about movement? It wasn't the first time someone hesitated. "But I don't think anyone wants to see me 'bust a move.' I'm not that great of a dancer. Shit, the last time I can even remember dancing was when I was in my cousin Aditya's wedding party. Even then, it was more Bollywood and Punjabi styles of dance... which I'm sure no one here would be too interested in seeing."

At the mention of Bollywood style dancing her eyes lit up and she clapped her hands together. This was something normal Bea wouldn't do... But tipsy Bea was beyond excited. "Oh, that would be amazing!" A hint of her elation quivered in the undertones of her voice. "No one would be upset to watch a bit of dance. It's really easy." The last words were meant for Archer as she turned her gaze upon him. She lifted her arms into the air and and began to immitate a rather simple dance move men used in such dances. Shaking her hands, stamping her foot as she moved in a line on the blacktop.

"So often its like a dance battle between man and woman..." She then imatated the hip movements and intricate way women tended to move their hands to help tell a story. "Oh! Maybe something like Kajra Re?" As she spoke the excitement in her voice grew and she seemed less like the stoic weird girl and more like a child in a candy store. If Archer didn't know the song, maybe Kavan could show him on a smart phone. Bea's had no such capability. "When in doubt just make it up! The dance is a silly tease between three people."

I know it's not easy
Saying I love you
Nor did I expect it to be
But that's the way love goes
It just happened
And now I am all yours

Before I spend anymore
Time at your side, love
I must say that you're the love of my life
Before I love you any more
Please listen
Let me say that I've given you everything
It's difficult to explain
But it's even harder to take notice
It just struck me that way
When I saw you

“Hey Santi… I have something to tell you...and it’s important. Unless I'm interrupting something...?

“Hey,” Santiago said softly, his previously abrasive demeanor vanishing instantly, to be replaced by a gentle yet concerned expression. At that moment, Penelope immediately vanished around him, and his attention was completely on the beautiful brunette. The Lils he knew and loved was sweet and cynical, with a smile so bright it put the sun to shame and a sassy attitude that gave the Devil a run for his money. But the girl standing in front of him tonight - although drop-dead gorgeous as always- looked jittery and nervous, as if she was carrying the weight of the world in her shoulders and was terrified of accidentally dropping it. April Foster was by far the bravest chick Santiago Fernandez had ever met. For her to be acting this way meant that whatever was bothering her had to be very serious… And that made him nervous as well.

“Yeah, sure. But before we go…” he trailed off, pausing for a moment to slip off his blazer and wrap it around April’s bare shoulders. “Take this, princesa. I could see you shivering from a mile away.”

“Thanks…” April replied quietly, grabbing the edges of it to pull it tight around her arms. There was always something about Santiago--no matter how mad she was at him, no matter how much she just wanted to punch him square in the face--that made her feel safe. The warm blazer around her shoulders that still smelt of Bleu de Chanel--It was Santi’s favourite and only cologne--made her feel like she was in his arms, like it was just the two of them against the world. It was a feeling that she would give anything in the world to keep forever.

Despite how infuriating he could be, Santiago--at least in April’s mind--was her soulmate. To most people Santi may have seemed like the average Floridian fuckboy, but April knew better. Although he may have been arrogant, self-centered and occasionally narcissistic, she saw the parts of him that others didn’t (in more ways than one). Behind that, April knew there was a caring, protective and kind man, who also happened to be devilishly handsome. She was going to prove it, if only to herself.

April gave him a gentle, nervous smile and took his hand from underneath the blazer. “We should probably go somewhere away from...people.” She began to lead him away from the tent, taking it slow as her eyes adjusted to the dark. Inside, her head was spinning, trying to plan out a reasonable way to actually break the news to him. April’s nails nervously dug into the fabric of Santiago’s blazer as she thought, and her other hand subconsciously tightened around Santiago’s. As safe as she initially felt, April had never been so lost in her life. So many questions spun around in her mind, so many things she wanted to say but couldn’t because of Santi’s no commitment policy.

Hopefully that would all change tonight.

The second April suggested they go somewhere private to talk, Santiago’s nervousness became laced with suspicion. There was something about the girl's shaky voice and her tight, sweaty grip that just wasn’t sitting well with him. Normally, if Lils had something to say, she simply went ahead and dropped it on you. She didn’t give a damn whether you liked it or not, if it hurt your feelings, offended you or got you pissed off: being subtle or discrete was not her strong suit. So what in the world was going on?!

When they finally reached the spot April considered was private enough, Diablo was all but determined to get to the bottom of things. However, his mouth apparently had other plans.

“Can I just... say something before you start out?” Santiago blurted out before he could stop himself or think twice about whether to speak his mind at all or not.

April’s heart skipped a beat when he spoke up. She wasn’t really expecting him to take the initiative in the conversation ever since the argument they’d had at his place. “Yeah, sure...what’s up?”

The boy was silent for few seconds, his throat getting scratchy about the admission he was about to make. A nervous chuckle escaped him while he avoided her gaze at all costs, until finally, he raised his gray eyes to meet hers. “It’s just…” Diablo trailed off, running his fingers through his brown hair and biting his lower lip in that tell-tale way that meant he was anxious. He cleared his throat a few times before he spoke once more. “I’ve really fucking missed you.”

April felt as if she was going to scream as the words came from Santiago’s mouth. He was such a tease! ‘Beba, I missed you’; ‘Beba, I don’t want a serious relationship’; ‘Beba’… The young woman took in a deep breath as she looked to him with her seemingly calm, brown eyes. “I...I missed you too, Santi...” April spoke quietly, her heart practically about to burst with all the emotions she was holding back from him.

There was another pause between the two. Finally, Santiago closed the distance between them and threw his muscled arms around April, pulling her tightly against his body. He dug his face into the top of her head, breathing in that familiar coconut scent of her silky hair that reminded him of warmth, comfort, coziness and home. How many times had he yearned for that comforting smell to be lingering in his skin and the sheets of his bed? Or how many nights had he spent lying in bed, staring up at the ceiling, missing the feeling of her warmth beside him? Hell, how many times had he paced around his empty bedroom, wishing the beautiful sound of her laughter would echo on the walls? The truth of the matter was that Diablo had missed April with every fiber of his being, and he’d been a complete fool for not fixing things sooner, letting that ridiculous ego ever get in the way of things.

April followed Santiago’s lead and gently wrapped her arms around him, nuzzling her head into his chest. The brunette was silent through the hug, her eyes shut as she took in the warmth of Santiago’s body. The smell of his cologne--Bleu de Chanel, Santiago’s signature scent, that also happened to be a gift from none other than April herself--found its way to her nose and sent goosebumps across her otherwise covered arms. The familiarity of it, the reminder of their relationship in its scent, the smell that she had taken for granted so many times before. It was like a warm blanket around her, and even though it only served to calm her down slightly, it was certainly not taken for granted on this particular day.

“I’m sorry I’ve been such a douchebag to you, Lils,” Santiago admitted, planting a kiss on top of her head. “You’re just this fucking amazing person, and you didn’t deserve any of the crap I put you through.”

April kept her head tucked against his chest, speaking quietly to hide the small tremble in her voice. “Santi...y-you’re my person...I’m not sure what I’d do without you here…” She blinked away a single tear as she stood unmoving. Time felt like it was standing still. April could’ve stayed in this moment forever.

After what seemed like a lifetime, Santiago finally pulled away from her just enough to cup her face in both of his hands. The earlier conversation with Lucas was playing over and over in his head like a broken record: You tell her the truth--you don’t play it off, you don’t half-ass it, you don’t downplay it. And then you’ll both finally stop beating around the bush and be together… Tell her the truth… Tell her… Tell her...’.

‘Well, Lucas Anderson, here goes nothing… And your bitch-ass better not be wrong about this.

“Dammit, this is so hard…” he said in barely more than a whisper, his throat getting dry again at the sight of April’s big brown eyes looking up expectantly at him. Feelings had never been Diablo’s strong suit. He tended to lock them away, afraid that expressing them would mean losing control of them and screwing himself up in the process. But how was that fair to the one girl who had put herself out there for him over and over for the last three years of his life? Through thick and thin, the ups and downs, his shoulder to cry on and partner in crime, April Foster had been through it all by his side. If there was anything she deserved more than anything in this world, it was for him to stop being a little bitch and tell her the fucking truth.

“Lils…” he tried again, voice slightly trembling as he raised his voice so April could hear him. There was no backing out now. “I… I think I’ve fallen in love with you.”

And just like that, April’s heart just about exploded. Those big, brown eyes didn’t even flinch as he spoke those final words, they just stared into his in absolute disbelief. It was like the gigantic dark cloud that had been hanging over her for the past month had lifted and let in a ray of beautiful sunlight. The years of waiting, of biting her tongue and holding back everything from him, had finally come to an end... And the poor girl didn’t know if she could take it all at once.

April’s breath caught in her throat. She quickly blinked a few times, looking away from Santiago for a moment. This has to be a dream...there’s no way… The girl looked back to him, her eyes welling up with tears before she just about tackled him with a hug. She dug her head back into his chest, her slender body trembling slightly as she cried soft tears of joy. The girl that would talk for hours was speechless once again, melting in front of him. There was nothing that she could say that described what she was feeling. Nothing that needed to be said.

Santiago barely caught his footing as the girl tackled him into one of the tightest hugs he’d ever experienced before. His arms instinctively wrapped around her again, returning the hug with the same enthusiasm while planting a kiss on her forehead. Puñeta, I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to see it, beba,” he admitted slowly, gray eyes closed shut to completely abandon himself to the moment. “You know I’ve never been good at this feelsy type of stuff.”

“I love you Santi… April pulled away slowly from him, taking a moment to look into his eyes before she leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on his lips. The brunette took in a shaky breath as she broke from her handsome partner before she looked down to the ground. Now it was her turn to be brave and stop being a little bitch.

You can do this… This is going better than expected already… April said to herself, standing a bit taller in a half-assed attempt to build up some courage before looking back to Santiago’s face. “My turn to...to stop beating around the bush...”

“What do you mean?”Diablo asked her, a look of confusion suddenly clouding his features until he suddenly remembered why they were here in the first place, and wanted to facepalm himself for forgetting. “Oh yeah, right. You had something to tell me. What's up?”

There was no going back now.

April’s heart threatened to beat right out of her chest as she opened her mouth to speak. “Santiago...I’m pregnant.”

Georgie stared out the car window as the Uber pulled up to the curb. Most people seemed to be in the dance already and because she had insisted on getting good pictures of the full moon night today she had just about made herself late to her own homecoming. She shook her head at herself and huffed in annoyance as she pulled open the car door and thanked the driver on the way out. The man nodded and as soon as she had slammed the door shut, already started to take off, the fumes rising up behind him in the relatively cold air.
"Thanks mom and dad." Why couldn't they come and send her off? Would they even make it to her prom at this rate? She'd left an empty house so who was to say that sometime in the future she wouldn't be coming back to one as well?

Georgie gathered up her black, lacy dress up about her and made her way to the front doors of the country club, slipping in relatively unnoticed. A strand of hair tumbled down from her loose bun and she nudged at it, annoyed. Why couldn't things even go right today? And speaking of, where were her normal crowd at? Georgie scanned the masses of people but didn't find any familiar faces. Great. This was shaping up to be quite the terrible event. The music pulsated, shaking the floors as spiked punch was constantly being passed around in front of her face. She grabbed one of the random drinks being passed and took off, paying the "hey!" behind her no notice as she tipped her head back and swallowed down the whole glass in one smooth motion. She rubbed her neck, feeling the absence of her camera strap and screwed her eyes shut. She'd forgotten the one thing that she'd wanted to bring. Not that she could get much out of this situation anyway regarding how disoriented everything felt. Man, was she a mess. Her thoughts were tumbling this way and that and she had no idea what was ruining her mood.

Maybe she could make this all go away by just dancing and drinking and when she went home there wouldn't be anything else left in her to even notice if anyone was there or not. Georgie reached up to pull the hair elastic holding her hair up and shook it out as her waves unfurled in front of her eyes. What better way to welcome the school year than to forget it?

With Marisol and Julie

The second Marisol stepped back inside the tent, the girl felt like she’d been dropped straight into a episode of The Twilight Zone.

Stella Lambert was lip-locked in a kiss with Oliver Grayson: someone who Mari knew was as about as straight as wet spaghetti.

Beatrice, Archer and Kavan were attempting to do some sort of Bollywood-style dancing. Yup, that’s right: Archer Diedrikson, who’s knowledge of Bollywood dancing - or dancing in general- was about as vast as his interest in females.

Lucas Anderson was getting chewed out by Chanel Martin, and Jordan Henderson was refereeing the fight. That was probably the least crazy of the hallucinations, seeing as it wasn’t far-fetched that Diablo’s ride or die would do something as dumb as he was to get himself in hot waters with the badass woman that was Chanel.

And, finally, Cousin Kavi getting ambushed by two girls while two others watched, none of which looked particularly pleased with him for a change. See, Sol always knew that Cousin Kavi’s playboy habits were bound to catch up with him eventually - that wasn’t the big deal. The real surprise of the night was that the two girls currently cornering Kavi were none other than the two you would least expect: Pinkie Pie Nadia and Emo Queen Ariel. How had that happened, Mari had no idea. But was it looking like an entertaining little scene? Hell yes. She would need to catch up on that later.

Shaking her head at all the weirdness going around, Mari looked around for any signs of Salem, but failed to spot him in the crowd. A frustrated sigh left her lips. She didn’t want to look like a complete loser just standing there by herself, so she begrudgingly made her way over to the two people she knew that were available to talk. Who knows? Maybe in the process she would show Sonny - and herself- that she was able to move forward with life.

“Hey Julie!” Mari greeted the young woman, shooting the redhead a bright smile. The last time she’d talked to ‘the jewel of Crown Heights’ had been during Diablo’s party some time before. So much stuff had happened since then, but with her schedule now dominated by work and school, Mari hadn’t had the chance to do more than wave at her across the hall. It was finally nice to catch up with her, even if it was in passing.

Julie had been deep in laughter at Sonny's reaction of the ballet picture when she heard the familiar voice belonging to Marisol Castillo. The red head just about pulled muscle smiling as she turned around to face her short friend. “Well, if it isn't the little stranger! How have you been? Feels like I haven't seen you in ages!” She exclaimed as she swept Marisol into a tight hug.

“I know, right?!” Mari said happily, hugging Julie back with the same enthusiasm. When their embrace was over, the shorter girl gave the redhead an appreciative once-over. “You look fucking amazing, dude.”

“Thank you so much! I had daddy get in from the vault. It's from the 94’ winter collection! I've been really in to vintage stuff lately!” Julie let the silky emerald fabric swish around her. “But don't let me bore you with that! Your dress is stunning! Very chic!” She said, looking at the petite girl appraisingly.

“Why, thank you so much, sugar,” the shorter girl replied with a mock-southern girl accent, laughing while giving Julie a comically exaggerated bow. “You have my grandmother Marlena to thank about this one. There’s no way she was going to let me come in here in my shorts, my T-shirts and my beanie!” she chuckled. “I barely got away with the Vans as it is!”

Looking around she saw that Marisol was alone and no date in sight. “Where's your date? That hunky new guy that always follows you around?” Julie took a sharp inaudible breath and bit her lower lip, eyes shifting between Sonny and Marisol. Maybe that question wasn't so kosher considering the current situation.

“He, um, had to take care of something real quick,” Mari responded in a small voice, purposely avoiding Sonny’s gaze and biting the inside of her cheek. “I’m sure he’ll find me soon.” There was something about hearing Julie talk about Salem like that in front of Sonny that made the girl uncomfortable. Although her whole mission was to show her ex-best friend she wasn’t the least bit affected by his presence, it was painfully obvious that she did care, and didn’t want to hurt his feelings.

Sonny had remained uncharacteristically silent during the entire time the conversation between Julie and Marisol had been going on. To save himself and even Marisol the grief (though he could very well tease her some more), he had to show that at least one of them was the mature adult of the two. He didn’t know why he wanted to spare her the grief of making some offhand comment about Salem. Perhaps it was the company of Julie and his exposure to Nadia’s innocence that was rubbing off on him, but Sonny didn’t feel like causing trouble for Marisol tonight.

As he took his drink and sipped it slowly, he looked at Marisol briefly. It was a short glance, but he could see the work she put into looking good tonight. No matter what they may have been going through, he could appreciate how hot she was tonight. But of course, he wasn’t going to tell her that.

“Clearly, this is a conversation you two want to have alone. I gotta shit, so I’ll see you around, Julie,” he said, giving Julie a quick hug. “See you around, Lil Sol~” He said almost affectionately, waving before darting towards the bathroom.

Julie whimpered as she watched Sonny made his way away from them. “Oh, I’m so stupid.” she whine, turning towards Marisol looking visibly upset. “I-I didn’t mean to… stir something up! I know you guys have had rough time. I should just have been quiet.”

This little confession immediately caught Mari’s interest. The short girl had been watching Sonny go with a pang of guilt in her when the redhead spoke up, making Mari whip her head around to face her. “Wait a second… What exactly do you know?” she asked Julie, eyebrow raised while the guilt morphed into suspicion.

The red head looked around and huffed as she grabbed Marisol by the wrist and dragged the small girl towards an empty table. When they had settled down, Julie swept her hair behind her shoulder and leaned closer to Marisol so she could talk at a lower volume.

“So, I don’t really know much, but Sonny had told me that you guys have not talked at all for a while. And that he didn’t really know why you… well, ghosted him.”

Marisol’s jaw fell open in disbelief, brows furrowing even further in her forehead. Her head was swimming with alcohol and now anger about the blatant lie Sonny had told Julie: a not-so-hot combination that would have her putting her foot in her mouth in no time. “That he didn't-” she stuttered but trailed off, taking a second to scoff before carrying on with her slurring speech. “But he DOES fucking know, Julie! He knows perfectly well why I did! He’s not stupid enough to not fucking know why!”

Julie cocked her head to one side and looked at her friend with a confused face. “Well… So why are you two not speaking then?” she asked quietly.

“I did tell him, Jules! I told him how I felt when I was back in the preserve after the whole incident with Vic! And you know what he told me?!” she cried out, visibly getting upset at remembering what part of the story came next. “He chuckled and shook his head and told me with a smile that I was probably so doped up on benzos that was the meds talking!”

“Okay, okay” Julie cooed in a calming tone grabbing Marisol’s flailing hands. “I get it sweetie, calm down.” she rubbed the girls hands with her own. “We both know that Sonny isn’t the… uhm sharpest when it comes to feelings. But don’t you think he would say that to cover what he really feels? Even if he didn’t have the same feelings as you?” Julie’s eyebrows knitted together in thought. “And I’m not taking sides or anything!” she interjected sensing a a complaint coming. “All I am saying is, do you really think that ignoring each other solves anything?”

Marisol was silent for a few seconds, analyzing what Julie was saying. She had a point: ignoring each other had probably done more harm than good in this particular situation. But what else was she supposed to do: confront him again? To have him dismiss her feelings again? Miss me with that gay shit. “I just thought that if I put some distance between us the problem would fix itself. Clearly that's not what happened here…” she muttered, shaking her head in disappointment. “I miss my best friend, but I'm not about to put myself in the spot again. If he wants anything to do with me again, he can tell me himself.”

Julie sighed “Well if that’s how you feel, I’m not going to argue with you.” she straightened up in her chair. “But don’t tell me he hasn’t tried, Mari… I’ve seen the texts, left on read. Take it from someone that has been ignored by a best friend, that stuff hurts… for a long time.” her voice growing quieter as she remembered her sophomore year when the incident with Santiago went down and April chose sides.

Mari's eyes narrowed in suspicion. Since when were Sonny and Julie close enough for him to show her any messages he'd sent Marisol? Had he made the redhead her replacement already? How long had that been going on? Whatever it was, Sol certainly wasn’t standing by it.

“I don’t know what text messages he's been showing you, because we haven't even looked at each other since the little scene he pulled on me and Sal at the cafeteria on the day the pairings were announced,” she replied, voice now dripping with annoyance. “And how does this ‘not taking sides’ thing work, exactly? Because all I've been hearing since I sat down in this fucking chair is all in defense of Sonny, as if he was some altar boy who wouldn't hurt a fly. Where was this defense for me when I told you that he fucked and dumped me last summer?”

“Watch it, Castillo!” Julie hissed, clearly taking offense to the hostile tone being thrown at her. “I have only been stating facts here. And I seem to remember spending the good part of an hour on the back of a truck trying to calm you down?” she huffed and crossed her arms. “Look! I’m not saying he is innocent in anything he has ever done, but neither are you. And don’t you dare shift your anger towards me! If you guys want to play these games with each other, go right on ahead, but keep me out of it!” The redhead stood up, pushing her chair back as she did so. She took a calming breath and shifted her eyes back towards Marisol. “If you value your friendship with Sonny, I suggest you get your priorities straight. That’s all I’m going to say.” And with that, the redhead turned on her heel and pushed through the crowd of dancing people.

Marisol’s heart sank as she watched the very upset Julie storm away from their table, her green eyes immediately swimming in tears. Fucking great: she’d managed to alienate the one female in King’s Academy without a judgmental bone in her body who’d been willing to listen to her and offer good advice. And why? All because she’d, once again, let herself be consumed by the alcohol and allowed the negative emotions overtake any sort reason.

Before anyone could see her break down, Mari took a deep breath and left the room, making her way towards the parking lot. Frankly, she was done with Homecoming and all the stuff that had happened. If she’d known this is how things were going to happen, she would have left the party a long time ago.

When she reached her date’s car, she pulled out her phone and sent Salem a quick text message:

Where are you? I’m outside waiting by the car. I’ve had enough of this bullshit and I want to go home.

Even when he was trying to stay out of trouble, he always found himself getting into it, huh?

Apparently Lucas' carelessness resulted in...actually, he didn't know what. He almost thought he had accidentally spilled something, but he was pretty damn sure he drank that cup dry. Right? Shit, was he really that far gone already? No, no, he was fine, shit was just getting good. He totally made sure the cup was empty. But man, mixing drinks was such a rookie mistake, what was wrong with him?

As he finally brought himself out of his thoughts, he realized Chanel was looking at him rather expectantly. Son of a fuck, he had no idea what she had said. Not a single word had stuck, resulting in the chestnut haired boy simply staring back at the gorgeous girl. For a moment, he tried to think of something, anything to say that wouldn't give away his ignorance.

Or he could just be honest? What was the harm in that? "Can you, uh...try that whole thing again?" He asked Chanel slowly, slightly pulling back as he braced himself for a response.

What a shitshow.

Victoire had always known Nadia was a little--no, she was one hundred percent ingenue, somehow always believing people to be decent. The moment she had found out she had, for God knew whatever reason, actually accepted a date from Kavi, Victoire had warned her things wouldn't end well. That asshole only had it out for himself, and lo and behold, she was right. She watched Nadia's confusion as Kavi spoke, though Vic had to admit that Kavi was just begging for someone to punch him in the face. Maybe that's why he was trained in martial arts, so at least people would think twice before actually doing it.

It was harsh, but everyone had to learn somehow. Just sucked she had to find out that way. Victoire rubbed her temples, letting out a sigh. "Fucking hell, I need an aspirin," She told Mara, shaking her head. "Leave the shithead alone, it's not even worth it."

Meanwhile, Nadia felt the tears prick at the corners of her eyes, and despite the anger bubbling, she felt like she didn't need to justify herself. Fine. If he didn't care, then she shouldn't have to, either. Obviously they hadn't been on the same page. She shook her head at him, clearly hurt and disappointed, and she turned towards a student walking past him. Grabbing his drink, she acted on pure impulse and threw it into Kavi's face, tossing the cup to the floor and stomping off.

After his brief, if not testing, encounter with Marisol, Sonny couldn’t wait to escape that particular area of the country club. It wasn’t so much about Julie that Sonny was trying to escape. In all honesty, he jokingly wanted to evade any further conversation about how the two of them were in the same ballet class when they were younger. Sonny was only in that class for a few weeks. He honestly didn’t remember much, but there was one person he remembered never judging him. Some little redhead was nice to the pudgy boy.

He reached the bathroom and it was at that same moment that Sonny had the startling realization that the little redhead who was so nice to him back then was the same one who had been nice to him. Granted, she wasn’t little anymore, but it still proved to be a little difficult for him to grasp.

When Sonny opened the door and walked into the restroom, the first sounds that he heard was the running water of a faucet and slightly browned hands under the stream of liquid. He brought his eyes came up and of all people, Sonny had to run into him. God up above really must enjoy testing Sonny’s patience because now he was in front of the opposite end of the equation that was the strife in his life.

He took in a deep breath and walked forward. “Sup Sally?” He asked, choosing the lesser of two snide remarks. The other ones would have certainly been too mean. Plus, Sonny was in a good mood today, so he didn’t feel like making fun of the friendliest giant beta King’s had in its senior class.

Salem, on the other hand, was in an absolute shit mood. The day had started out great, of course, but soured upon getting the call from his dad. Sometimes, Salem thinks he misses his dad and wants to talk to him, see him, have an actual father-son relationship - then he remembers how much of an ignorant, immature child his dad really is. Salem wanted to fucking break something; wanted to feel powerful as something bent under his hands. He wanted to slam his fist against the fucking mirror - but he’s not going to.

Salem knows, from experience, that destroying things doesn’t glue yourself back together. Instead, he ran his hands under the sink and made it scalding hot, because burning was better than breaking. Though, when he lifted his head and saw Sonny in the mirror, Salem debated if the consequences of destroying things were worth punching the smug face off of Sonny.

Probably not.

“Don’t you have someone else to go be a dick to?” Salem said, scrubbing his hands harder under the sink like it would wash away Sonny’s presence.

That was too easy, but Sonny really didn’t want to start off a bathroom visit in a potential fight, so he opted not to take the low blow. “Relax, Sally. I’m not here to start something. If I was, don’t you think I’d choose a place a little less tacky than the country club’s male bathroom?” Sonny couldn’t help but point out. “But you’re clearly in a mood. Did my ex-best friend dump you like I knew she would? Cheer up. You know there are plenty of fish in the sea, right?” And yet, Sonny couldn’t help himself to take a shot a little above the belt.

Salem turned off the water, leaning his palms by the side of the sink and closing his eyes so he wouldn’t have to see Sonny’s rat face. People say cigarettes help with irritation, maybe Salem should take up smoking or chewing gum or some relaxing hobby. Like knitting. Maybe Salem should knit. When he opened his eyes, though, Sonny was still there and babbling about Marisol.

“Dump me? If we were dating, and we are not, who would she dump me for?” Salem smirked, his fingers tightening around the sink and his gaze going cold. “You? No one would want to be with some good-for-nothing piece of shit like you. Especially not Marisol, who could do so much better.”

“Oh?”

Sonny seemed to have hit a nerve. If he were a better man, he would’ve walked away at this point. He was having a good day so far. Nadia was being great company and he even had a good moment with Julie (even though it was embarrassing), but when Salem made it too easy for Sonny not to poke the bear a little more, who was he to refuse that all-too-tempting offer?

A smug face met Salem’s taller frame. “Is that why she took it upon herself to walk over to me when she could have made a beeline for literally anyone else? Face it, Sally, she’s still got me on her mind. I don’t know whether to be flattered or take pity on her,” he mused aloud, pretending to actually think about his stated options.

Was it the alcohol, the anger at his father, or the need to have Marisol’s back? Salem wouldn’t think about it till the morning after. At that moment, all he could see was red as he grabbed the collar of Sonny’s jacket to push him into the tiled wall behind him. He fisted the jacket, and with vicious glee, he noted that he had torn it at the seams slightly.

Don’t talk about Mari that way.” He glowered, his grip tightening for a moment before releasing it. Like a pot of water, his anger had boiled over, but now it was simmering underneath his skin. He smiled thinly at Sonny, “A word of advice? Don’t mistake Mari’s friendship for sexual attraction. She’s learned her lesson already: nasty trash like you is sent to the dump, not recycled.”

How could Sonny be mad at Sal? He knew in a real fight, Sonny would smoke him. What was a few seconds of heated passion that caused the taller boy to grab Sonny to years of martial arts training? So he would let him speak his peace, talk all the big talk he wanted to, even let him push Sonny into the wall and try and act like he had control, but at the end of it when Sal finally finished, a smug reaction met him.

“Since we’re handing out words of wisdom, allow me to share something with you, dainty giant,” Sonny began,“if you’re going to put your hands on someone, make sure you know you can win and that they aren’t a brown belt in Karate. I think that’s pretty important. Also,” Sonny paused, straightening his jacket, “I’ll always be on Marisol’s mind. You never forget your first. I know she won’t. And despite what she may think, I haven’t forgotten either.”

“Black belt, brown belt - no one cares.” Salem shrugged, “I’m going to go back to my homecoming date, so go talk to somebody else about how you’re compensating for your ugly personality and tiny physique.”

With that final jab, Salem walked to the door to really find Marisol this time. He had about enough of this pissing contest and his anger had fizzled to irritation. The tension was still there, though. The feeling of a rubber band stretching taut, on the edge of snapping.

Before Salem would get a chance to do that, however, Sonny put his hand on his chest. He may have been tiny, but he still had superior strength and Sonny was just getting started. “Well, what are you waiting for? Go on, the door is right there, Sally,” he teased Salem. It was clear he was close to breaking, so Sonny wanted to see just how much effort it would take to get him to break.

Sal pushed a hand through his hair, his nose flaring with his annoyance. Leaning in close, he glared into Sonny’s eyes, “I don’t care for people like you. I don’t care for men - no, boys - like you. Marisol is a sweet girl and she doesn’t need a piece of shit like you lurking around, so leave her alone. Understand?”

Sal knocked Sonny’s hand away, stepping backward so he no longer had to breathe in Sonny’s scent. It’s been a long time since Salem has felt so riled up over high school drama. Gwen and he had always believed they were above that shit - but now here he is. Maybe it was pretentious of him, but he felt a sense of superiority over Sonny. Here this guy was, immature and bratty - and Salem was leaps and bounds more mature than him. It was enough to make Salem smile just as smugly as Sonny had earlier.

And like the immature brat that Sonny was, he yet again had deliberately prevented Salem for leaving. The shorter male stepped to the side in front of Salem, meeting him with a smug look. “And what if I don’t? You gonna do something about it, Sally?” Sonny asked, almost daring him to do something. To further his point, Sonny pushed Salem back with both of his hands pressed against the taller teen’s chest. It was just enough to give him a nudge a little more forceful than your average nudge.

“You think I’m going to fight you? Don’t be a child.” Salem snorted derisively.

He was about to say more when his phone buzzed in his pocket. When he pulled it out, he half expected it to be his father texting him, or calling him, but of course, he wouldn’t. Apparently, a fucking emoji was enough of an apology for being a shit father.

Where are you? I’m outside waiting by the car. I’ve had enough of this bullshit and I want to go home.
Marisol

Salem smiled, finally he’d get out of this damn place and just go home and relax. Away from the douchebag in front of him, away from crowds of people with perfume clogging his nose, and away from this damn bathroom where unfortunate events seem to occur to him.

“Well, then,” Sal nodded towards the bathroom door, “my date needs me. So would you let me go, please? I’ve had enough of this bullshit.”

Despite his best efforts, Salem wasn’t budging. And it did get to Sonny when Marisol was yet again mentioned. He could bad mouth her again, but that wasn’t enough. It didn’t get him to make the first move, so he had another idea. “Fine, fine.” Sonny stepped to the side, allowing Salem to pass. As he would, he uttered the following: “I guess I’ll just have to drop Gwen a line, then.”

Salem knew, distantly, that he was playing into Sonny's hands the same way he knew, distantly, what the lyrics of the song playing in the main room were. Yet, he still lunged at Sonny.

He wrapped his arms around his waist, tackling him and inadvertently pushing them both through the bathroom door. Once Sonny's back hit the ground, Sal cocked his fist back and clocked him on the jaw. His knuckles stung slightly, but he couldn't stop thinking about Sonny talking to Gwen. It wasn't even fear of Gwen falling to Sonny's advances, she would never, but fear of her misinterpreting the situation with Mari. With being disappointed in Salem getting involved in this trivial bullshit. God, with Gwen finding out it's not all roses and daisies in Palm Beach like Sal implied it was. He didn’t want Gwen involved in this, he didn’t want Sonny’s rat face to be sticking his nose into his relationship, and he didn’t want Gwen’s name in Sonny’s filthy fucking mouth.

Sonny looked up at Salem, smiling even though his jaw was sore and stung like a bitch. He kept smiling because he had won the verbal round. The fact Sonny was on the bottom and was now the victim of Sal’s punches, which seemed to pack more punch than the Drake teen gave him credit for. Looks were deceiving and Sal was quite the fighter when nudged in the right direction.

“Do you think Gwen likes bruises? I know chicks dig battle scars.” He kept teasing Salem. It seemed to him the more he said Gwen’s name, the angrier he got. And if Sonny’s sensei taught him anything, which that is to say a lot of it flew in one end and out the other, it was emotions compromised the equilibrium of a man. Whether he’d take advantage of that or not remained to be seen. Sonny was having too much fun getting the better of Salem in the battle of their mental state.

Salem got one more punch in before abruptly stopping. The phone that had been in his hand and had fallen to the floor buzzed again, telling him he still hadn't opened the message from Mari. There was a crack across the screen that distorted Gwen's face on his lockscreen saver.

“You're not worth the creases in my suit.” Salem spat, throwing one last parting punch, this one even harder than the one before, and standing up to walk away.

The last punch delivered actually drew blood. And yet, as he started to stand, a little off-balance from his nose and jaw both pounding like a really killer headache, Sonny somehow retained his smile. “You do that. I’ll see you later, Rivera!” He made sure to say it loud enough for Salem to hear him.

Now left alone, the crowd that had gathered had effectively disrupted. To call what had just happened a fight wasn’t being entirely accurate. Sonny didn’t feel like actually putting in the effort, so instead of actually giving Salem a run for his money, he chose to taunt him. That was more fun, but someone nearby was shaking their head at Sonny.

“Don’t even start with that. I could have taken him. The bitch-boy doesn’t know how lucky he is that I decided to not lay his ass out,” Sonny commented, walking in the opposite direction where Salem was, though he stopped and glanced back. “Yeah, real lucky..”

As he pocketed his hands, Sonny went off to find Nadia. Wherever she was.

Location: Country Club
Interacting with: Jordan Henderson, Lucas Anderson

Now watch me fly.
∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇∆∇

"Can you, uh...try that whole thing again?"

As soon as those words left Lucas Anderson's mouth, Chanel could instantly feel the blood rush to her cheeks; she couldn't help but clench both of her hands into fists as she stared into the glazed eyes of the drunken boy. It became clear in that moment that Lucas had not understood a single word that came out of her mouth, and this fact did nothing but fuel her anger. But before she could let her anger get the best of her, which would ultimately lead to her doing something she'd regret, Chanel suddenly felt a gentle hand on the small of her back. A second later, Jordan Henderson was speaking into her ear. “Don’t let one dumbass ruin your night," her date told her, "He’s not worth it.” But Chanel didn't care.

There was a strong possibility that it was the alcohol in her system that caused her to react in such a way that she normally wouldn't. Maybe then, if she hadn't stolen from her uncle's liquor cabinet and spiked the punch, she wouldn't be drawing back her arm, her open palm ready to swing forward and land a slap right across the boy's face. “Or if you want a shot back, here’s some ammunition,” Jordan suddenly said as he pressed his empty plastic cup into Chanel's other hand, causing her to hesitate for a brief moment. But it was far too late, and Chanel was far too angry.

The sound of the smack was loud enough for anyone within a five foot radius to hear over the music; Chanel didn't even have to look around to know that a few heads were turned. Her eyes sparkled with satisfaction as she watched the boy's cheek turn a bright shade of red, her handprint still slightly visible. It was after she had released that bit of her frustration that she decided to toss Jordan's cup at Lucas as well; it simply bounced off his chest before landing on the floor. "Next time, you should throw your shit in the garbage instead of at other people. Douchebag." Before Lucas could get in another word, Chanel grabbed hold of Jordan's hand and began to storm away. She didn't stop walking until they had reached the edge of the dance floor; it was then that Chanel had locked eyes once again with the fiery redhead she knew as her best friend.

Jordan couldn’t keep an uneasy smirk off of his face as Chanel dragged him across the floor. While the confrontation with the other boy had had a certain level of physical comedy- the ringing crack of the slap, and capped off with the punch cup flung against his chest- the reddening handprint on his face was a stark reminder of what would happen if Jordan crossed Chanel tonight. The look on her face had been ferocious, and judging by the way the dancers hurried out of the pair’s way it probably still was.

Making it out the other side of the night with his dignity and face intact was number one priority- he resolved to keep his drink close and to place his empties gently into the bin. If poor Lucas’ cup had actually still had punch in it there was no doubt in Jordan’s mind that by now the local news would be typing up an obituary.

Chanel led him across the dance floor by the hand and Jordan followed, although without much of a second option. By now the party had properly kicked off- probably significantly helped along by Chanel’s booze in the punch- and people were letting loose and dancing wildly.
The flashing lights made it hard to make out faces and he hadn’t spent long enough at Palms to know most of them anyways. Yet one group of dancers stood out to him. The short girl with bushy hair could only be Bea, and she was flanked by two taller guys. A twinge of jealousy panged through him before a lighting change illuminated the two of them and Jordan had to hide a muffled snort of laughter.

Even with his limited time at the school, it hadn’t taken long to learn about the only ‘out of the closet’ student. And although he didn’t think it was confirmed, he had certainly heard whispers about Kavan too. Two gays and an autist sounded like the setup of an offensive joke, and judging by Archer and Kavan’s attempts at dancing the punchline couldn’t be any good.

Jordan’s observations were cut short by Chanel’s sudden stop. He turned to meet the blue eyes of Julie Macmillan, and nodded a greeting. It didn’t surprise him that Chanel had hunted the other girl out- she seemed to be her best friend, and the two had been practically inseparable during the week Jordan had spent with his date leading up to Homecoming. Although at the moment she was looking rather upset. He recalled that she had been paired up with the Colombian guy, Andres, who was nowhere to be found.

‘Sup Julie. Lost your date?’ he asked.

Julie was almost shaking with anger as she moved through the crowd. She was sick and tired of just taking in people's problems. Why did they use her as some back alley therapist? She groaned as she pushed a slobbering lacrosse player of her for the third time. This was the reason she only wanted to have Chanel! She always understood how Julie worked and they could have a whole day of hanging out without either of them saying more than a few words and that was considered an success!

This is what she gets for strafing from the norm. Her life was good as it was she didn't need more drama than what she already had. Julie maneuvered through the mass of moving bodies and made her way towards the bathrooms to freshen up. But when she arrived she was met by a crowd of people gasping. Somehow the redhead found herself in the front row of the commotion that turned out being the tail end of a fight with the new kid Salem shocking non other than Sonny right in the face before stalking of in the direction of the parking lot.

Julie watched as the smaller boy slowly rose to his feet. It took all of the fibers in her body not to rush over and help him but she had not even five minutes ago promised herself not to get mixed up in their drama. All she could do was stand there staring at him, shaking her head in disapproval.

“Don’t even start with that. I could have taken him. The bitch-boy doesn’t know how lucky he is that I decided to not lay his ass out,” he said to her as he shuffled of.

Julie gritted her teeth as Sonny walked away looking annoyingly proud of himself. Flipping her hair she stomped of towards the dance floor once more where she had seen Chanel.

The Macmillan girl heard her friend before she saw her. Julie caught the end of Chanel's rant that was directed towards Lucas Anderson, the shock of seeing Chanel swing her open palm and slapping Lucas straight across his face caused Julie to just stare and blink in the direction her friend dragged her date.

What was going on? Where are all the faculty and chaperones? There were fights breaking out left and right and Julie for one had had enough. She stormed of after Chanel not stopping for anything until she came face to face with Jordan.

“Sup Julie. Lost your date?” he said looking around.

For some reason this hit a nerve with Julie. “No! I sent him the fuck away!” she snapped as she pushed past the innocent bystander and grabbed Chanel’s free hand dragging them both outside. “I need to get out of here with Chanel, come with or stay put, I really don't care.” she lamented as she stomped her high heeled feet towards a secluded woody area behind the main tents.

She sat herself down on a big rock with a deep sigh looking at the two people she had just dragged away from the party. Now that she had time to calm down she felt a little embarrassed of how she had acted. She turned to face Jordan.

“I'm sorry I snapped at you in there, it's just…” the girl let out another big sigh as she opened her beaded emerald bag and pulled out a small bottle of vodka. She daintily unscrewed the cap and took a swig of the clear liquid and past it to Chanel. As they drank Julie unraveled how shitty her night had been. Beginning with her date not picking her up and then when he showed up leaving her right away. She told them about the awkward situation with Marisol and Sonny and the argument with Mari that followed, ending with witnessing Sonny getting punched. When she had finished talking the bottle had been passed around a few times and Julie was buzzing more than she had wanted to tonight.

“So whatever I'm done with this farce!” she exclaimed lazily gesturing back towards the party tents. With a small little hiccup Julie smiled brightly as her mood suddenly brightened when she remembered what she had wanted to talk to Chanel about the whole evening.

“Major snaps for your work on Mr. Mister here Coco. Could be we have a new contender for King's most desirable bachelor.” she eyed Jordan mischievously as she spoke. She turned back to face her best friend with that recognizable makeover twinkle in her eye, knowing Chanel would follow.

“So now we only have the other half of the set to do over! Speaking of which…” she directed her gaze back toward their new British friend.

“What are your actual intentions with our sweet Bea?” she asked her eyebrows high, eyes sparkling.

Ariel Grey

"Do you see what we've done? Gone and made fools of our selves."

Ariel was at a loss for words. Sure, the date had been great. The resturaunt was nice. The walk on the beach was nice, and Kavi.... was a complete gentleman. The kiss was fantastic, of course, but Ariel had returned said kiss because of the state if bliss she was in because of the date. And because Kavi was hot. Of course Ariel would never say this aloud as to not inflate the boys ego any further.

Nadia slinging the drink in Kavis face was enough to bring the young woman out of her thoughts. Both shocked and impressed, Ariel would never have expected Nadia as the type to do such a thing. After the trail of thoughts and the shock, Ariel felt herself filled with nothing but pure rage.

Kavi had a reputation. It was true that Ariel had feel for his charm and looked past that, but back to back dates with the both of them? And no 'it didn't work put text' for the sweetest girl in school? Not to mention he didn't tell her about Nadia. Of course he'd try to sweet talk his way out of it. What a dick.

No sooner than she finished the thought that Ariel felt her first colliding with Kavi's nose.

Oliver Grayson

"Well I never thought that you'd come tonight while the crowd hangs out on either side. Give me one last kiss for the Far To Young To Die."

Stella was such a great dancer. Luckily, Oliver found himself not tripping over his feet as much as he originally thought that he would. What he did find was the fact that he simply couldn't stop staring at Stella. From the way that she moved her hips to the slight smiles she through his way, she truly was... breath taking.

Towards the end of the song, Oliver found himself in a state of speechless bliss. Before he knew it, Stella was kissing him. Much to his surprise he liked it. Really liked it. As they pulled apart, Penny snatched Stella away before she could finish her sentence.

"Penny! I - wait! Stella!" he tried to call over the noise. What was she about to say? That she was sorry? She had no reason to be. Further more, Penny's best friend privileges didn't just give her the right to snatch Stel up right after a freaking kiss.

After the slight petty anger and shock came the mild confusion. Oliver was into guys. He had been watching gay porn since he was fourteen. So why did he like it when Stella kissed him? Why did he adore the dimples in her cheeks when she smiled? Why did he find himself smiling at the screen whenever she messaged. Was he... Was Oliver Gay Ass Bitch Boy Grayson falling for a chick?

"Holy shit," he mumbled.

It was shocking how easily she could scoop Stella away after such a deep kiss. However, Penny had promised to come back and her needs naturally came first. If Oliver really wanted Stella he would have resisted Penny's stepping in. He would have held on more tightly. Penny wasn't completely terrible though. She would shortly return Stella. She just wanted the girl to know she would never abandon her. She was much too precious a thing to ever let down. So, Penny took her hand and slipped her other behind the girl's back, drawing her close. "Making some friends are we?" she teased lovingly. The school nympho placed a gentle kiss on the school's sweetheart's forehead. She was in such a daze, so darn fucking cute. "Why, I whisked you away just moments after your face lock with one, very gay, Oliver Grayson. Don't worry, I'll let you go back if that is your desire. Let him stew on it for a minute." She nuzzled the adorable girl's cheek with her own. "Don't you worry a jot darling. I would never dream of keeping you from what you want." She whispered the words into the shell of the girl's ear, her breath tickling fine hairs that had not quite made it into her hair-do.

They danced together, Penny leading the steps and dipping and spinning as any proper date should. That was, until, she caught Nadia throwing the contents of a glass into Kavi's stupid, smug face. Pausing she watched what transpired next with righteous glee. Fucker was getting what was coming to him. She held dear Stelly close as she watched Ariel aim the perfect punch right into his much too perfect nose. Penny winced but her grin grew wider. She looked down at her lovely friend.

"Stella, darling, what would you most prefer? We can go tease Saliva-dor together. Or perhaps you can go back to smooch your date some more? Hmmm?" She pulled back, looking down at Stella, just holding her hands now. Unfortunately for her friend, Penny's thoughts were solely on Kavi. She wanted to go over there and rub salt in his wounds. Later she would catch up and find out how Stella's night went. However... Kavi needed a good dressing down.

Sonny had seen Julie walk past him and had he been in a better mood, maybe he would’ve followed her. Only a few moments passed and he saw that she went over to where Chanel and that British guy Jordan were. He made the automatic decision to avoid that particular area of the Homecoming area. The last thing he needed was to be forced into an awkward conversation with Chanel and about how both of them don’t like each other. Clearly she has some screws loose in her head, so Sonny rather not deal with the likes of her. He had more pressing matters to attend to.

He continued his search from one point to another. Along his search and trying not to allow blood to drip to his white jacket, Sonny was able to catch the best seat in the house as he witnessed both of his close friends start to enjoy themselves at the dance. In the blue corner, draped in a lavender dress, one Estelle Lambert was locking lips with her homecoming date and then being swept away from the Queen of the Sluts, Penelope Richards. And in the red corner, he saw his other childhood-ish friend, the self-proclaimed Kavimeister become face to face with two women. One of them had shiny red hair and was Nadia and the other, of all people, Ariel. In the matter of a minute, after Kavi had opened his mouth, he was met with two consecutive responses that made Sonny laugh. After both left, darting to opposite directions, Sonny was chuckling to himself so much that he nearly missed the scent of Nadia’s perfume wen past him like steam in the wind.

A quick glance to Kavi’s direction and the guy was left a bloodied mess. Sonny almost felt bad for him, but then he remembered it was Kavi and knew whatever he did, the idiot deserved it. He had more important things to do, like catch up with Nadia. She had a head start, but he eventually caught up with her inside the actual country club and away from all of the noise and antics.

“Nadia, wait up!” Sonny called out to her a she was a few feet away. She didn’t seem to respond, so he tried running. “Nadia!” He yelled out again.

The redhead had nearly missed the call, so caught up in her own emotions that she hadn't been paying attention to anything. Finally coming to a halt, she willed herself to calm down, hastily wiping away whatever tears she thought she had. After taking in a deep breath, she looked back towards where she thought she heard Sonny, eyes wide as she noticed his injuries. Her mood shifted dramatically, her anger washing away as concern took over.

”Sonny, what-what happened to you?” She asked him, gingerly touching under his swollen cheek.eek.

He smiled at her, though he swiftly waved away her concern by shrugging. “I got into a disagreement with Marisol’s new beta boy. Apparently, size really does matter,” he joked, a laugh following. “I’ll live. What I want to know is what happened between you and Kavi? He must’ve done something pretty terrible for you to act like Viccy.” Sonny looked at her in a similar way she was to him, though it was more of a curious glance rather than concern (though that was present in his gaze as well).

Nadia’s expression softened, green eyes examining his face briefly before she would concede. Marisol, huh? Last she heard the two weren’t talking, but she wasn’t exactly sure who the ‘beta boy’ was. Still, there was absolutely no need to resort to violence. Sonny was shrugging it off, but it looked so painful!

She hesitated when he inquired about Kavi, eyes welling up with tears again as she averted her gaze, taking in a shaky breath. There was no hiding how hurt she was, her previous anger having fizzled out. ”...nothing,” She copied his shrug, raising the back of her hand to her mouth as she tried to control herself. ”He doesn’t care, so I don’t care, either. So…”

There was more to the story, that much Sonny knew. He also knew how cruel Kavi could be. Whether he did it intentionally or did it without any amount of what effects his actions had on those they hurt, it was likely Nadia was another victim of Kavi Salvador. “I’ve known that dumbass for almost as long as I can remember, so you don’t have to say it.” He gave her a comforting smile. “He definitely deserved a lot worse than what he got.” Sonny couldn’t help but laugh as he tried to get Nadia to do the same.

Despite not wanting to, Nadia couldn’t stop the tiniest smile on her face, even if it quickly fell. ”Maybe.” She said quietly, sniffling slightly as she shook her head. ”I just feel so embarrassed...I’m so stupid.”

”No, you’re not stupid and you have nothing to be embarrassed about,” Sonny quickly assured her. ”Kavi is - and always will be - the idiot in every situation. He thinks because he’s charming that the shit he does won’t come back to bite him in the ass, but clearly it happened with you and Ariel. It was bold of him to think this wouldn’t happen. Nobody in their right mind would fly so close to the sun and not expect to get burned.”

As Sonny said all of that, he could just hear Marisol’s laughter in the background calling him a hypocrite. He chose to focus on comforting Nadia, not someone who was with a lesser boy.

Brushing her hair out of her face, she slowly exhaled. She knew he was trying to make her feel better, but she still felt dumb. Shaking her head slowly, she looked back at Sonny and ended up wincing, pitying his injuries. Opening her mouth to respond, she found herself much too distracted.

”If it’s okay, I don’t want to be here anymore,” She finally spoke. ”Let’s get you to a hospital, I’m really concerned about...all of this,” She motioned to his face, wincing.

“Is it really that bad?” He asked her. He hadn’t looked at himself since letting Sally get in a few good licks, so he didn’t know if it was worse than he felt.

”Yes,” She replied with complete sincerity. ”It looks like it really hurts, and…” She was very concerned about his nose in particular. ”Your nose looks broken.”

“What!?” Came Sonny’s elevated voice, a genuine worry across his face, though to anyone but him, Sonny becoming worried about himself appeared to be more like anger. “That little bitch actually broke my nose, huh? I don’t know whether to be angry or flattered,” he mused, smiling. And as soon as he did that, he felt the pain surge from his cheeks to his mouth and back up again, causing him to visibly wince.

Nadia winced as well, nodding as she fished through her clutch. ”If it hurts, that’s not good,” She wasn’t an expert, but she would rather be safe than sorry. Taking out a tissue, she gently dabbed at the blood on his face, trying to clean him as carefully as she could. ”I really want you to get it looked at,” She said worriedly.

“Say, Nadia, if I didn’t know it any better, I’d say you’re actually worried about me,” Sonny teased her, smiling cheekily at the redhead.

Surprised by Sonny’s comment, Nadia paused for a moment before breaking into a genuine smile. ”I am,” She told him softly.

He was both amused and surprised that he got a direct answer. Knowing her, he thought she would’ve tried to cover it up with some lame excuse. Suffice to say, Sonny was relieved to see her finally admit she didn’t totally hate him. “I’d smile but it hurts to even talk,” Sonny said with minimal lip movement. “Fine, I guess there’s no use fighting it. I’ve had enough of this dance anyway. If I’m named king, then I guess I’ll find out in the morning announcements come Monday.”

Without waiting for her to reply, on instinct, he took Nadia by her free hand, locking his fingers with hers.

Finally satisfied that Sonny wasn't looking like he had bathed himself in blood, Nadia was relieved when he would finally agree. Part of her had expected more of a fight, but maybe he actually saw her reasoning. Her hand in his felt so natural it wasn't until she started guiding him to the entrance that she noticed, her smile only widening even then.

”Of course, Your Majesty,” She replied, happily walking with him hand-in-hand.

Archer put his hand over his heart and feigned a pained expression at Kavan's statement. “Kavan you wound me… how can you say something like that?” he took a trembling step back. “That's the only thing I want to see in this world!” he said referring to seeing Kavan dance a Bollywood dance. His face lit up in a great big smile when Bea suggested they hit the dance floor to try it out.

As they entered the tent Archer was filled with some kind of joyous feeling that he definitely did not expect to be feeling this evening. The night had gone by surprisingly pleasant. If you disregarded the beginning awkwardness with Ariel at the beginning of the dance. But now he was in full swing of having Bea try to teach them how to move in sync and all the anxiety was blown away.

A loud bang that echoed even over the loud music made the trios head’s snap up from their dancing. Archer craned his neck to look if he could see the cause of the loud noise. All he could see was a crowd starting to mill about by the bathrooms. “Should we go look what that’s about?” he asked still trying to look over the people to see what was going on. As they got closer the dull sound of punching could be heard. Archer pushed his way towards the front and let his mouth fall open when he was met by the sight of Salem straddling Sonny with the formers fist raised.

Archer was frozen to the spot he was standing. A million thoughts rumbling around in his mind. Why was the new kid pummeling Torvald? Sonny was probably deserving of said pummeling...but still. Was Mari connected to this? Probably. Where was she? Come to think of it he hadn’t seen his best friend the whole evening. Archer snapped back to reality when the sound of a second punch reached his ears.

He instinctively jumped forward to stop them. Sonny might have been low on his list of favorites but he was still kind of sort of a friend. But before he could do anything he felt someone grab his hand. Turning around he looked straight in to Kavans eyes, he was shaking his head making Archer step back his hand still in Kavan’s. He winced at the last punch that was thrown resulting in him squeezing Kavan’s hand a hard.

“God damn it…” He whispered as Sonny skulked away muttering.

He turned towards the other two with a pained look as the crowd began to dissipate. “I think I have to go find Marisol. I have a feeling that she is in the middle of all of this.” He wrapped his arms around Kavan resting his chin on the young man’s shoulder “Can you call me on sunday? I need to have a calm day of doing nothing.” He whispered planting a quick kiss on Kavan’s cheek as he pulled away. Archers eyes widened in shock of what he had just done.

Trying to cover this up he turned towards Bea with a smile as he bent down to speak to the short girl. “Hey thanks for letting me crash your dance party! I’ll see you at school monday? Maybe you can paint me like a french boy?” he chuckled. With one last wave to them both he turned and quickly made his escape running his hand through his hair as he sped off in the direction of his car phone already to his ear calling Marisol.

As they danced, Stella couldn’t remember the last time she felt such a high and without having to drink anything. That wasn’t to imply she was the sort of girl who needed alcohol to have a good time, but lately, her moods have been skyrocketing and declining at abnormal rates. It didn’t help her cause that she had been trying to get along with Oliver as much as she could while Kavi teased her constantly about how he was gay. Stella had of course ignored him and despite her planting a kiss on his lips, the thought of what Kavi had said came to her mind. She didn’t even realize what had happened until she shook her head briefly and was locked in a soul-stealing gaze that would have otherwise not worked on her, but she was so lost in her own mind that Stella fell victim to Penny’s captivating eyes.

"Stella, darling, what would you most prefer? We can go tease Saliva-dor together. Or perhaps you can go back to smooch your date some more? Hmmm?"

On her multiple suggestions, the girl snapped out of it and shook her head. “Oh, no--I mean, he looks busy or like he’s not in the mood. He isn’t the best of company when he’s angry,” Stella informed Penny, almost warning her about what she assumed was Kavi’s state of mind. “And..Oliver, he probably wants time alone. I don’t know..” She hesitated to be certain about that.

She didn’t want to think he was angry at her. The kiss she gave him was almost as sudden as her being whisked away by Penny was. Plus, she didn’t know how to handle her feelings about everything right now: Oliver, Penny’s suggestions, and her own feelings that feel like they are swirling around like a storm ready to burst--but where?

Penny smiled and tugged Stella close again, enveloping her in her arms for a slow dance. “No one is good company when they are angry, babe. But it does sound like you need me more. Why do you think Oliver needs more time on his own, hmmm?” Her question was gentle and she moved close to Stella’s ear so that she didn’t have to shout over the music.

”You have a point.” Stella found herself agreeing with Penny, less uncertainty flowing into her mind.

As she thought about it, she didn’t know how to answer Penny’s question. Her first thought wa show she suddenly kissed him and maybe it was too much of a shock? Or maybe he didn’t like it and she didn’t want to bother him or push him into talking?

“I don’t know,” she murmured, the change of songs suddenly bringing the noise down temporarily. “I just don’t know.” She repeated, but this time said it a little louder.

Penny laughed lightly and brushed some of the girl’s hair from her face. “Oh Stella, my lovie duck. Any boy, or girl, who gets to taste your lips will only experience a blessing. Believe me, I know.” She drew back momentarily to wink at her slightly smaller friend. “Sometimes it is good to let them stew, but never let them stew too long. You can’t know the outcome of something unless you finally look at it babycakes. Like Schrodinger's cat or something.”. She leaned forward and rested her forehead against Stella’s. “What's got my girl so nervous, hmm? And don’t say you don’t know. Give it some thought.”

She had to admit Penny had a way to make her feel better, though Stella always felt a little ...weird when she got so close. But Stella knew she was right. The one thing she knew was how she was starting to feel about Oliver and how not knowing how he felt about her was quite literally killing her. Clearly, she knew this to be the absolute truth. There was no denying that.

Smiling softly at Penny, she inhaled just as soft. “I guess I kind of like him.” That was the first time Stella said the words out loud. “I mean, I know it’s pretty obvious or else why would have I kissed him, right?” A question she was asking only because she was trying to jumble her thoughts in a somewhat cohesive way. “I have no idea if he feels the same. He didn’t kiss me back or maybe I didn’t give him the time.” As she said that, she attempted to look down, though with Penny’s forehead against hers, that was proving to be difficult.

Penny laughed quietly. “I didn’t exactly give him enough to time respond though, did I? I swept you away like Cinderella. My bad darling, I’ll admit it.” She lifted her face and looked down at Stella. “Honey, there is absolutely no way of knowing unless you ask. Maybe kiss him again. Maybe give him the chance to kiss you,” she teased. “It’s easy to wallow in self doubt, but I know you have the strength to ask those tough questions.”

“I suppose so,” she said not-so-confidently, her voice low. She knew Penny’s heart was in the right place, but the girl wasn’t exactly in the right mindset to do as she said.

The young woman sighed, unravelled herself from the girl, and took her hand. “Come with me,” she said loudly over the music. She led Stella through the mess that had become homecoming. People obviously drunk, random fights, posturing, it certainly summed up the whole of their school.

At last, she settled at a quiet table in the back of the room. Empties and punch stains littered it but that was not what Penny liked about the table. It was a quiet space away from the noise and pomp of the dance. She pulled out a chair for Stella and then sat right next to her. “Babe, talk to me about it. I am here for you.” She smiled gently at her friend and reached out to grab and hold her hand.

Stella didn’t know where to start. She again knew that Penny’s heart and intentions were in the right place, but she just wasn’t sure where she could begin. She didn’t understand her own feelings for Oliver or if they were even real. No, she knew they were real. She was passive and always second-guessed herself, but this was something she was absolute about. She knew she had feelings for Oliver. There was no doubt in her mind.

She looked at Penny, soaking up her supportive gaze as she squeezed the girl’s hand. “I just..I feel like he doesn’t like me back. No, that’s not it,” she paused, knowing she already said that and can’t know for certain. “Okay, the truth is I’m afraid the rumors about him might be true. Both Kavi and Sonny - more Kavi - teased me about Oliver. They think he’s gay because of how he acts and how he dresses. I know he’s just an idiot. Look at what happened with him and those two girls earlier? I know it’s clear as day he has plenty of error of judgments.” Stella didn’t know where that came from, but she was on a roll, so she wasn’t going to stop. “I don’t have the best history of dating. You know about my brief thing with Santiago, right?” She asked Penny.

Another sigh, but this one was accompanied by an indulgent smile. “Yes, you told me a bit about you and Santi. Is there something more you want to share?” Her thumb skimmed back and forth across the back of Stella’s hand.

Instinctually, she attempted to with her hand. “That tickles!” She whined softly, giggling. She had always been ticklish on the base of her thumb and Penny always knew exactly where that spot was. After a short moment, she recomposed herself. “I’m just saying that my luck hasn’t been the best. So what if this is just another reminder that me and dating is doomed to fail?”

“Mmm, I dunno lovely. I think saying something like that is a self-fulfilling prophecy. You don’t think you can find love then you won’t. In terms of Oliver’s ‘gayness,’ it is certainly a possibility. However, people can be gay for a partner, why couldn’t he be straight for you? I guess, what I mean to say is, the truth can only be spoken from the secret holder’s lips.” Penny furrowed her brow and leaned down to catch Stella’s eyes. “Does that make sense, my love? If you want to go after this guy I wholeheartedly and without reservation am behind you. But I don’t want to push you either. If you want to take time and just relax with me, or even someone else… Feelings are some tough shit my girl.”

”Someone else?” She felt like she had to repeat it because she wasn’t sure what Penny was implying. “I doubt anyone else would be interested in me - well, at least in that way.” Again Stella found herself looking at the negative rather than the positive.

This was so much unlike her baby girl. She was the brightest, sparkling rainbow glitter princess. Penny leaned back and watched the features on Stella’s face. “I just mean, if you get sick of me darling.” She crossed her legs and brought a hand up to her chin as she settled the elbow on the table. From her propped up position, she watched Stella’s reactions. “You sell yourself short. I cannot imagine a single person in this whole wide world who wouldn’t be interested in you.”

Stella doubted that immensely, especially in her current state of mind. No amount of Penny’s much appreciated comforting words seemed to have any effect on improving her outlook about herself. “I’m sorry” was all she managed to say, a frown on her face where a beaming smile usually had a permanent residency.

Penny grinned her big, ol’ welcoming grin. “What in the world have you to be sorry about? You are an angel, my Stelly. There is nothing wrong with having moments of self doubt. There is nothing wrong with thinking everything I have said is a lie. But, my Stella-duckling, have I ever lied to you before? Do I not tell you the truth in all things?” She did not reach out for Stella like she wanted to. She did not cradle the girl against her like all of her instincts demanded. Instead, this was something for Stella to figure out. Penny would just be the catalyst to help it along.

She wanted to say that she was sorry for being lowsie company. She wanted to apologize to Penny for being the debbie downer. Penny has been nothing but sweet, supportive, and comforting and all Stella has done was make it seem like it was hopeless. No matter how much so she felt, she just felt even worse that she Penny’s efforts were falling on deaf ears. But there was something that Penny said that seemed to ring true: Penny never did lie to her. Sometimes she was blunt about it, but there was never a moment where she felt like Penny ever lied to her.

As Stella squeezed her hand, her smile returned, albeit not to its former glory but there was no longer a frowning Estelle meeting Penny’s gaze. “Thank you,” she said, giving Penny her gratitude. And in keeping with the spirit of the uniqueness of their friendship, Stella gave Penny a peck on the cheek. “I mean it. Thank you, Penny. I don’t know what I’d do if you weren’t here,” she found herself admitting.

The kiss on her cheek caused a large, feral grin to spread across her face. She wrapped her arms around Stella’s waist and pulled her into her lap. She was now looking up at the girl and snuggled her close. Her fingers trailed up and down her friend’s spine. “Any time, my darling. I live for that smile upon your face.” After a moment of just enjoying Stella’s closeness, she loosened her grip on her waist with another charming smile. “If you ever need a single thing, I am your girl. Why don't you, tomorrow, come and hang out if you have time.”

It had been a while since Stella had been embraced by Penny. They both had been involved in their own spheres, so their best friend bonding time had been sparse. That’s why she appreciated Penny’s company, especially with how flip-floppity she’s been in the past twenty minutes alone. She was blushing just a little bit.

As she stood up, she adjusted her dress to make sure there weren’t any wrinkles “I’d like that very much,” she said, smiling again at Penny, this time a little wider than before. “My Aunt Florence and her family will be leaving in the morning, so I could swing by around the afternoon. Will that be okay?” She asked Penny.

”I would really love that and look forward to seeing you,” she said, letting her dear darling leave her lap. She looked up to her, hands clasped together at her stomach. Was Stella about to go do the thing she needed to do? “Just come over, ring the bell and I’ll come get you. Every single time.” She gave her another wink.

“Sounds like a date!” Stella exclaimed in a familiar tone.

Suddenly, Stella gave Penny a tight hug, wrapping her hands around her. “Again, thank you. I know what I have to do now,” she told her, releasing Penny from her embrace. “I’m gonna find Oliver!”

“Good, am so glad my darling love. You got this.” Another wink and a thumbs up. And, yet again Miss Penny was left alone. Was this to be her life? It seemed older males were the only sort to draw her attention or have their attention drawn to her.

Location: Outside the tents
Interacting with: Julie MacMillan, Jordan Henderson

“No! I sent him the fuck away!”

The harsh tone of Julie's voice caught Chanel completely off guard. In fact, she'd momentarily forgotten all about her own anger; the feeling of rage that had surged through her body was almost instantly replaced with one of concern. All the young woman could do was blink in confusion as her best friend grabbed her by the hand and began to pull she and her date towards the exit. Chanel managed to flash an apologetic expression back at Jordan as they all headed for an area behind the main tents, for she now knew how he must've felt the entire first half of the night. Soon, the trio had reached a more secluded, woodsy area; Chanel cringed as she felt the heels of her Louboutins begin to sink into the dirt. "Nice to see you too, Julie," Chanel said jokingly as she took a seat on the rock next to her, careful not to get any dirt on her dress.

Soon, Julie had begun to describe exactly why she was in such a shitty mood; Chanel listened quietly as she took small sips from the Vodka bottle and passed it back and forth. Since she'd already had a few cups of the spiked punch back inside, it didn't really take much more alcohol for Chanel to feel lightheaded and numb. Soon, her mind began to drift elsewhere; Chanel had to keep reminding herself as her best friend spoke to pay attention or at least look like she was. It wasn't until Julie mentioned something about witnessing a fight between Sonny and some other kid that she snapped back to reality. "Aw shit," the young woman said, "You mean to tell me I missed Sonny Drake getting his ass whooped? I mean, I know that you two are cool and all but God, that would've been so... satisfying to watch. Even more satisfying than slapping Lucas Anderson across his face."

And then the conversation was redirected to Jordan's new look for homecoming; Chanel simply grinned from ear to ear as her friend complimented her handiwork. Getting the opportunity to make over Jordan was probably one of the very few upsides to this whole homecoming situation. Her smile slightly faltered, however, when Julie brought up something about doing over the "other half" of the set. “What are your actual intentions with our sweet Bea?” Julie asked, and Chanel’s eyes went wide.

Beatrice Endive? We've been together all night, man. When were you gonna tell me you and Bea were a thing?” Chanel said while she turned around to eye Jordan. She stared at the young man for a brief moment as the gears turned in her head before finally facing Julie once more and excitedly clapping her hands. "You know, they actually would make a really cute pair," Chanel said, "And I have so many ideas about what we could do with Bea... if she agrees to it, I mean.

Palm Beach, Florida
October 6th, 2018

Things seemed to from absolutely boring to hilariously wild faster than Mara could have anticipated. Between Nadia storming off to Ariel deciding she decided to take a swing at Palm Beach’s number one bachelor, it was all a lot to take in. Especially with Victoire insisting to leave him alone out of irritation and exhaustion. Normally she would’ve agreed with her friend, but Mara was also in a sort of a mood. Seeing what happened when Ariel threw a punch directed right for Kavi’s nose was all she needed to unload some of her discontent, though she knew as soon as it happened that the shitshow was only going to get worse and as upset as she was, she didn’t want to get reprimanded by someone with actual authority for being a bystander to the event in question.

Her eyes moving back, she shot a reply to Victoire.

“Yeah, you're right. We should go.”

Not waiting around for the conclusion to Kavi’s particular drama, she walked off in the direction of her car. May as well check to see if there was some asprin in the glovebox, not that it'd help all that much.

To say that Kavan Varma was impressed by Bea's extensive knowledge of Bollywood dance would be an understatement; as the trio got down on the dance floor, Kavan couldn't help but smile as he watched the young woman try her best to show Archer a few of her own moves. It didn't take long for Kavan to finally let loose and allow himself to have a little bit of fun; the young man no longer cared about what any onlookers had to say about the group's foreign dance moves and "strange" choice of music. This was unfortunately cut short, however, when a loud bang echoed over the music, causing them all to cease their dancing and turn in the direction of the noise. Kavan watched with curious eyes as a small crowd began to grow near the bathrooms, which usually only meant one thing. “Should we go look what that’s about?” Archer asked, and Kavan simply shrugged his shoulders in response. He didn't really care much for watching fights, but he was slightly curious as to who had gotten into it.

"Sure, why not?" he said with a sigh as he quickly followed behind Archer, shoving his way through the growing crowd of students. When the trio made it to the front, Kavan almost couldn't believe what he was seeing: one of the newer students, who he believed to be named Salem, was straddling none other than Sonny Drake. The first punch was enough to cause Sonny's cheek to swell; Kavan watched with wide eyes as Salem draw back his fist once more, this time ready to land another punch to the boy's nose. This punch was enough to draw blood and make Kavan wince as if he was the one who'd just been hit.

From the corner of his eye, Kavan saw Archer begin to lunge forward, no doubt in an attempt to stop the fight and break them apart, but he hurriedly grabbed a hold of the boy's hand before he could do so. When Archer turned to look Kavan in the eye, he simply shook his head and slightly tugged him back into his original place. While it was obvious that Sonny was not to come out victorious, he still knew that it would be a bad idea to try and come in between the two fighters. Soon, the brawl was over, and Archer whispered a quick “God damn it” as the trio watched Sonny sulk away. It was then that Kavan realized he was still holding Archer's hand. He reluctantly let go as Archer turned to face him and Bea.

“I think I have to go find Marisol. I have a feeling that she is in the middle of all of this,” Archer said as he wrapped his arms around Kavan, resting his chin on his shoulder. Of course, Kavan returned the hug, instinctively wrapping his own arms around Archer's torso. “Can you call me on sunday? I need to have a calm day of doing nothing.” It was when Archer planted a quick kiss on his cheek that Kavan slightly tensed up; he could feel his heart start pounding in his chest as they both pulled away.

After taking a couple of deep breaths, Kavan said, "Yeah, sure. I'll uh... give you a call." But by then, Archer had already begun to say his goodbyes to Bea. When the boy took off in the direction of the nearest exit, Kavan awkwardly turned to face his date, hoping that she hadn't noticed how flustered he'd become. "So..." the young man said as he took a quick glance at the rapidly dispersing crowd, trying his hardest to change the subject, "You'd think that a chaperone or one of the administrators would have shown up by now, huh?"
