"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope some day you will join us and the world will be as one." -John Lennon ~Appearance~When others attempt to describe Azura's physical appearance words like; curvaceous, enchanting, and natural usually come to mind. Her hair is often found in loose wavy tendrils, the color of a deep auburn and its length ending just mere inches above her hip. What is most difficult to pinpoint is the color of her eyes. On most days they are a playful shade of emerald green. However, once her mood changes to a different extreme, her eye color changes as well. For example, when she is overjoyed her eyes shine with a pale jade green. When she is sick, her eyes fade into a dull golden color. Her father assumed it was just one of the many traits Azura inherited from her biological mother. That, along with her alabaster skin that often glowed in the moonlight. Though her essence is quite powerful and intimidating (I mean come on her mother was badass) she is in fact short in stature, resulting at a height of 5 feet, 5 inches. While her body had maintained an hourglass shape she is definitely considered "Plus-Sized" (on the lower end of the spectrum) due to her large thighs, chest, and other various.... assets.
Her clothing style can be summed up in one word. Comfortable.
Not comfortable as in lazy, but she is often found wearing simple button up shirts, an occasional hoodie, jeans, and her favorite Converse style chucks. There are rare moments where she will dress up. Mainly during special events or midnight rituals. Oddly enough Azura never paid much attention to attire... a fact that other girls tended to exploit.
~Personality~Complicated.
That simple word perfectly sums up the demigoddess. While she has a secret love for others, her demeanor can come off as mysterious if not abrasive. This is due to her being a introvert most of the time having been home schooled and basically a black sheep among her peers. As a result she is very quiet, having been taught that words hold power. Her mother Hecate who happens to be the Goddess of Magic knew this well. Words are spells. They can make others feel joy, pain, and anger. When you say something... make it count. Or don't speak at all.
She is reserved to a fault, often closing herself off from others.
However, when you get to know Azura on a more personal level, you will actually find she is; kind, intelligent, and witty.
While she tries to remain calm and rationalize through life there are moments where her temper can flare. Though these moments are rare and only happen when she is pushed over the edge.
~History~According to Azura's father, James Parker, he had met her infamous mother one July evening during a full moon amidst closing his local shop. The store was a modest bookstore that had a bohemian-like quality. People would go to buy or sell new and used books from all over the area. Customers felt comfortable there and would often spend their time reading and drinking their coffee. Hecate received a tip from Hermes and had wanted to see if James had an ancient textbook containing a few spells she needed to research. Usually James would tell a patron to come back the next day during normal business hours. However, there was something mysterious... something unusually captivating about the enchantress that stood before him. When she peered up at him with that breath-taking gaze he was mere putty in her hands.
When he let her in she immediately found the book. It was as if it had called to her because once she got close to its location the book flew off its shelf and hovered a few inches from her face. The two spent the rest of the night talking, drinking, and reading. As a free spirit, Hecate was naturally flirty and after a night of passion she and the store owner fell asleep next to the roaring fireplace in the main area. It wasn't until James woke up in the morning that he realized she had left at some point while he slept.
About nine months later there was a knock at his door.
When he opened it his eyes fell onto a basket that lay on his front step. In it was a baby girl wrapped in silk the color of lavender. She slept softly, a note pinned to the front of her blanket.
The years flew by. James who had always loved children but never had time to settle down took Azura in immediately. She was his world and he had raised her as such. He brought her up to be vastly intelligent. Excelling in topics such as philosophy and psychology. The demigoddess must have read every single book that had come through his store.
Azura had met her mother a handful of times. Mostly in dreams which purpose was to instruct Zu-Zu on the magical genes she had passed down to her. Unnaturally, Azura preferred the estranged relationship to her Godly parent. She was perfectly content with the life she had been given with her father and had been nonchalant about her large heritage and possible relatives.
It wasn't until earlier the present year that James had an aneurysm and passed away. His store was doing poorly and even though he had passed it down to Azura in his will, she had no money to maintain it. Unsure of what to do once she sold her fathers building, she decided to do what her mother had instructed. Until she could figure herself out she would go to a place in Colorado known as Olympus Academy. Perhaps she could figure out a way to buy back the bookstore and make it better than ever before. If not, then at least she could develop her magic.
"People are strange when you're a stranger. Faces look ugly when you're alone. Women seem wicked when you're unwanted..." -The Doors
~Godly Parent~Hecate, Goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts, and necromancy.
~Relationship With Godly Parent~Estranged.
Having only met a handful of times, Azura preferred a life of solace in the care of her mortal father. Her thoughts being: "He was there fore me when she wasn't. She just left me on a doorstep." Though Hecate did express a want to be involved in her daughters life, she did not push the matter for fear that it would only anger Azura. In time the goddess hoped that when Zura wanted to get to know her mother she would call to her.
~Demigod Abilities~Conjure a FamiliarJust as it sounds this ability can bring back anyone beyond the grave. However, it can only be done if the connection between the caster and the deceased is strong enough whether the relationship be positive or negative. It also takes a lot of energy to perform and must be done at night under the crescent moon. The spell ends at dawn causing the familiar to recede into dust.
The CrossroadsWhen someone is at a crossroads it means that there are two very influential decisions and only one choice can be made. Much like a portal, this ability can cause the caster to travel to any time/dimension of any choices made or cast aside. However, it is another powerful spell that takes a lot of energy to use. Until you are more advanced in preforming The Crossroads you can only visit/influence your own choices.
Book of ShadowsIt is known throughout Greek Mythology that Hecate was the Goddess of Witchcraft. Underneath Azura in the basket used to drop her off with her father was an old tome. A gift from Hecate, it is an (almost) exact replica of her book of spells. Being a beginner in her abilities, Hecate did not want to share particular spells that require personal sacrifice. These incantations were usually advanced in nature. Later on once Azura's power has grown she will receive more information. Even though Azura is unsure of how to use the book she had been given, she was sure that she would come to learn more about magic at her new institution.
NightfallAs if enveloped in the dark of night Azura can disappear any time she wishes. Growing up she had noticed that at bedtime she could turn invisible and hide so she could stay up a tad longer. At first she could only perform this ability at night. But the more she practiced over time her gift developed and she can now perform it perfectly all hours of the day.
