...yadda, yadda, yadda … lots of background and detail and story that I'm not going to write right now, as this is a practice thread in which I am only trying to decide how to do this online.

Before we go any farther, understand that this isn't Dungeons and Dragons.  Although there will be obvious similarities, this is a stand alone game platform (for a lack of any other description); do not assume that D&D races, abilities, spells, etc., are the same here.

First and foremost, Player Characters (PCs) will have only 2 Abilities, not 6; furthermore, many of the die rolls in D&D that determine who and what a PC is, as well as those that are rolled for the moment -- Attack, Damage, Surprise, etc. -- may or may not exist here, and if they do exist may not function in the same way.

If you are a die hard D&D player and expect it to be the same here, this is not the place for you.  Sorry.

Your 2 Abilities are those of Strength and Dexterity.  They will decide what weapons you can and cannot use, how well you are at using them, how much damage you do with them, how much damage you can endure -- we do not roll for Constitution -- and so much more, from lifting heavy objects to … whatever might be influenced by Strength and Dexterity.
 
It is presumed that your Strength and Dexterity are superior to that of the population as a whole.  Otherwise, you wouldn't be special, you wouldn't be much of a Swordsman, and, therefore, you wouldn't be much use in an adventure.

Therefore, while Strength and Dexterity for the population as a whole ranges from 2 to 12 (2d6):
Your Strength Roll will be generated with a die roll of 4d4+7 (therefore ranging from 11 to 23);
Your Dexterity Roll will be generated with a die roll of 4d4+3 (therefore ranging from 7 to 19).


PERFORM DIE ROLLS:
Create a Dice Campaign.
Perform your first die roll, titled "Generating Strength Ability".
Perform your second die roll, titled "Generating Dexterity Ability".
Record the rolls in your first post, along with your Basic Profile, which you will find explained in the Character Sheets thread (once I have put it there; the link will be added here in the very near future.)

They will decide what weapons you can and cannot use, how well you are at using them, how much damage you do with them, how much damage you can endure -- we do not roll for Constitution -- and so much more, from sneaking around in the dark to climbing walls to locating and disarming traps to … whatever might be influenced by Dexterity and Intelligence.
 
It is presumed that your Dexterity and Intelligence are superior to that of the population as a whole.  Otherwise, you wouldn't be special, you wouldn't be much of a Thief, and, therefore, you wouldn't be much use in an adventure.

Therefore, while Dexterity and Intelligence for the population as a whole ranges from 2 to 12 (2d6):
Your Dexterity Roll will be generated with a die roll of 4d4+7 (therefore ranging from 11 to 23);
Your Intelligence Roll will be generated with a die roll of 4d4+3 (therefore ranging from 7 to 19).

Your 2 Abilities are those of Intelligence and Dexterity.  They will decide what Magic you are capable of performing, as well as how powerful that magic is.

In addition, the Dexterity Roll will determine whether or not you can use such weapons as a Staff or Dagger, as well as how well you perform with them.
 
It is presumed that your Intelligence and Dexterity are superior to that of the population as a whole.  Otherwise, you wouldn't be special, you wouldn't be much of a Wizard, and, therefore, you wouldn't be much use on an Adventure.

Therefore, while Intelligence and Dexterity for the population as a whole ranges from 2 to 12 (2d6):
Your Intelligence Roll will be generated with a die roll of 6d3+5 (therefore ranging from 11 to 23);
Your Dexterity Roll will be generated with a die roll of 6d3+3 (therefore ranging from 9 to 21).

Perform your first die roll, titled "Generating Intelligence Ability".
Perform your second die roll, titled "Generating Dexterity Ability".
