I need to save my stupid friendly baby from him :( He’s fooling everyone with that shy DISGUISE, waiting for ‘friends’ to abduct. I’m not saying he’s a kidnapper but did ANYONE see Mari leave when he cornered her in the store room? NO!?
@OliveYou Yay!! I'll hopefully have my character in soon then ^^
and yeah! its great to see you too. I was browsing the other day when my friend was over since we're both back on the site now, and when he pointed out it was you i got really excited ^^
@OliveYou Okay here's my idea! I still need to work out a picture but I wrote a real quick idea of what I was thinking.
Name: Monty Romero Age: 25 (Although you'd never guess he's the oldest one currently working at the cafe) Gender: Male Job: Cook/Barista, He sort of fills in wherever is needed around that area on any given day. Appearance: I’ll get something drawn up ASAP, but he’s basically a shorter guy, maybe 5’4”, little bit on the thicker side. His hair is a somewhat medium length, maybe even a long as far as the average guy goes. He doesn’t shy away from femininity at all, embracing that in his overall style. He has round glasses, and probably wears one of those kawaii face masks with like a “:3” kinda mouth or something. Also he seems to never take off the fake cat ears, even when working in the kitchen. Thats sort of my basic plan, some details may change once I get the drawing actually done. OH yeah, and I nearly forgot to mention, both of his legs are fake. Personality: Monty is probably one of the most optimistic and upbeat people you’ll ever meet. Everyday is going to be a good one if he has anything to say about it! It’s fair to say that almost nobody has seen him in a bad mood, and he does everything in his power to make everyone else happy too. It’s his personal goal to make everyone feel completely welcome in his presence, even if his cheery, outgoing nature can be a bit overbearing to more quiet people. He also seems to have actually boundless energy, and is always, always doing something around the cafe. In fact the busiest times are his favorite, because there’s always things to do! And at slower times, he almost seems to make work for himself, doing dishes, cleaning up, organizing things, really anything he can think of. And he always seems to be there extra early to open, and extra late to close everything up, and rarely misses a day of work, unless he absolutely has to. Background: Monty always loved cats, ever since he was little. In fact, his one of his nicknames has always been “Kitty,” which when he was younger especially was preferable to his rather “old-man” type name. He was always a fun, happy kid. Never someone with perfect grades, he was overall average when one looked at his resume. Right at the end of highschool, he was in a particularly nasty accident, causing him to lose both his legs- but that hasn’t slowed him down any! On new prosthetics, he attended culinary school, and then started working at the cafe nearly as soon as it opened. Color of Uniform: Pastel Purple Other: I imagine he’s been working at the cafe for quite some time, but took several weeks off in order to go on a trip and do some family things out of town, and now he’s back!
@ReveTheDreamer 'kay, i'll just comment on a few things (spoiler alert! it's not a few things)
-he o l d (lol jk)
-i'm going to headcanon rn that he's old friends with either Amelia or Amelia's sister, it's highly unlikely Amelia would hire a random stranger THAT much older than her without knowing them beforehand (bc she is both territorial and would prob worry about ordering around somebody older than her by six years) at the same time I can definitely see monty teaching Amelia about the World and how little she really knows...
-march is the head cook so he's gonna be answering to like... an eighteen year old....
-no but I like this idea. if u ok with it he could very well be a family friend.
-i'm like. pretty sure we have more boys than girls now. the tables have turned ohoho
-the timeline for café crème is kind of.... the twins open, march comes in soon after + like megan/jet maybe (providing she's still around), Naomi was a fairly new recruit and our most recent two are newly hired! :3 so monty would fit in like, after march? in that case i'd love to hear what sort of dynamics you think they had (depending on how long he worked for before leaving on a trip)
-I really like your idea for introducing him! it's hard to figure out new ways after a while haha
1. Haha, I just enjoyed the idea of everyone being like, super young and then there's just him. 2. I like that a lot! and that makes a lot of sense. And we could use some good dad energy around here, haha. Plus that would be an easier way for him to have even found out, and makes his dedication to the cafe make even more sense, since he knows the twins and wants them to succeed, and extra doesnt mind putting in more work for friends. 3. Honestly Monty doesn't mind at all. Since he'll work wherever he needs to in the cafe it makes more sense that the permanent cook is the "head cook." - I was also using general position titles, since, ya know, he's gonna do whatever needs to get done, but I imagine his 'specialty' is more with the sweets and such, while March seems to do more of like the actual food. -And that sounds good, right after March seems like a good spot for him! ^^
Amelia would definitely count him as a manager--Minkyu is more like an owner in the sense that he is Amelia's twin brother and therefore holds the same rank as her, but he's a lot more relaxed and hopefully easier to approach (though that depends on the type of person--if you're shy, Minkyu can relate. Amelia is overbearing but very exuberant.)
Judging from his age and name, he might be a travelling friend of Victoria (the twins' older sister) who ended up visiting the home a lot. Amelia thinks he's neat, Minkyu probably looks up to him, etc. On good terms with the parents too, and probably helped ease their conscience a little when they moved back to Korea.
Also you must add at least one sentence about how much he loves sweets/doesn't love sweets/what his favorite dessert is. It's tradition :P
@OliveYou That all sounds good to me! I like that a lot. And yeah, it probably is good for the parents to have a trusted older adult around to make sure things are all good, haha.
oh and of course, when I revise my form i'll toss it in there. honestly this man could probably just eat sugar out of the bag, and is lowkey completely addicted to sweets. Where you think he gets all that energy? Constant sugar high.
Hey, the interest post lead me here. I haven't been rping on this site or much anywhere in some time, but I think this is casual enough for me to get started again, if you're still open for more peeps.
@Ace of Jacks we have a LOT of guys already so i'd prefer you make a female, but at the same time... go for it. the café has about six or seven tables in the main room, than a counter with sweets and the expresso machine near the back. there's a hallway on one side that leads to a small storage room, and the other side leads to the kitchen. in case this doesn't make sense i'll draw something later.
