I just have to figure out good strengths and weaknesses for my character and I'll be able to put her here. She is more of a support mage than anything who uses magic I made up called Attribute Script. It, as the name suggests, applies attributes to items.
I want her to be a new member who joins during the festival.
Her guild mark resides in the center of her right palm. It is the same color as the font.
Attribute Script
Description A type of letter magic that is used to apply varying attributes to items. There are some limitations to what kind of attributes. An example is that using this magic, one can make a blade hotter than it normally would be but they cannot set it on fire via said magic. It is more of an effect on the item directly and not really how it interacts with its surroundings. Another example is that the magic can make a drink taste alcoholic but it can't actually make the drink alcoholic. There is a limitation to how many attributes one can place on a specific item and how many items they can alter at a time. This all depends on the user's skill level and magical endurance. Also, depending on the complexity of the attribute it can take longer than other attributes to apply to something, and the more attributes one item has the longer it takes to add a new attribute.
Durability - Makes the item in question more durable Sharpness - Makes any edge on the item in question feel sharper Lightweight - Makes the item in question feel lighter Silent - Makes the item in question move through the air quieter and when it is set upon something or as it moves against something Burning - Makes the item in question feel hot to the touch Sticky - Makes the item in question stick to other surfaces Rejuvenating - Makes the item in question feel rejuvenating; a placebo effect making someone feel energized and similarly to adrenaline makes it where the person can't fight through the pain a little easier Prickly - Makes the item in question feel spiky Poisonous - Makes the item in question, upon touch, apply a placebo effect causing a person to feel ill Chilly - Makes the item in question feel cold to the touch
Requip
Description Annalyse uses a simple form of Requip, IE she is still working on improving her skill with it, She can keep a few things in her pocket dimension. She isn't very good at pulling things from there during a tense situation so she tends to carry as much on her as possible.
B
Motherly/Protective: Typically, Annalyse is too nervous or scared to stand up to anyone. But she cares so deeply about people that she will go out of her way to defend or comfort someone she cares about or if they are a child no matter the consequences or dangers she may put herself in.
Intelligent: Annalyse is quite smart for her age. This largely comes from her interest in reading. At the orphanage, she would read every book in the library no matter what they were and there were quite a few textbooks. She even enjoyed reading those because she also enjoyed learning new things. Any time she found a new book it'd be hard to get her to put it down.
Hard-Working: From a young age, Annalyse has been a hard worker. Due to growing up in an orphanage she had a lot of chores and would do her job without complaining seeing it as her part to play as one of the kids who were able to stay somewhere safe rather than being homeless. As she got older more was heaped onto her and she continued to throw herself into her duties.
Nervous: Annalyse has always been a nervous child. She is scared of many things and worries a lot. She has a bad habit of doubting her actions and choices.
Clumsy: As a result of her nervousness, Annalyse can tend to second guess her actions and will tend to stumble. This usually only happens if others are around, pressure has been placed on her, or she's trying something new.
Unassertive: Annalyse has little to no confidence in herself or her abilities. She tends to downplay herself to herself so it takes quite a lot for her to bring herself to fight or do something that most mages would do on instinct.
Annalyse can be described as a softspoken motherly type. She cares for other people and doesn't like seeing anyone sad or hurting. Much less if they were someone she was close to. Especially the other kids from the orphanage. If she feels that anyone she's close to is suffering in any way then she will do her best to take care of them. Even if they don't want it. Annalyse always tries to find a reason to smile. For it was a smile that helped her in her greatest time of need. However, Annalyse doesn't have the best control over her emotions so it is fairly easy for them to take over.
Annalyse doesn't know anything about where she came from. The first memory she can recall was of her in an orphanage at the age of five. All she knew was her name was Annalyse Verdine, she seemed to be a spectacle to the other kids, and no adults were gonna tell her anything. She did have a picture of a couple which she was told was her parents, and that whenever she chose to leave the orphanage that she would receive a gift that had been from her parents. Her life in the orphanage was fairly simple. She did chores, played with the other kids, and would read books often. Only thing was that anytime people would come to visit the orphanage none of them ever gave her any thought. She couldn't really explain it but she felt lonely.
The only friendship she found was in the numerous books in the library. Annalyse fell in love with the stories to such a point she desired to one day live one of those kinds of adventures herself. By the time she became sixteen, the young girl was fed up with the place. She had always felt like an outcast so anyway she could escape was a viable option to her. This and her love of adventure books led her to try magic. She wanted to be able to join a guild and live a life of excitement. When the manager of the orphanage discovered that Annalyse was practicing magic the woman promptly kicked the teen out. The woman surprisingly though gave the item from her parents to her. Well, more like threw it at her. It was a massive sword that apparently had been her father's which was called Eclipse. Having no place to stay, Annalyse went to the closest magic guild and told them her situation. She begged for them to let her stay. She even promised manual labor. So far she has been turned down at every turn. Now she finds herself in Magnolia hoping the newly reformed Fairy Tail will accept her.
Ok, so I have no idea if the way I explained the magic made sense or not. My head works weird and any time I try to explain something I always seem to leave something out. One thing I have to say is that if it seems OP, trust me when I say it isn't. And the things she does to the items can affect people in an offhand way. Example. With the whole making a drink taste alcoholic, what it does is it tricks the mind of the person who drank it into making the person feel drunk even though they aren't. It is like a placebo effect.
Eclipse A massive blade which was wielded by Annalyse's father. She has put quite a few attributes to the blade. Durability, Sharpness, Lightweight, Silent, and Burning.
@Juvvie I have some kind of Spatial Magic in mind, it is a combination of Pict Magic and Celestial Spirit Magic
The user of the magic that I have in mind can create it's own beings like the Celestial Spirits. However, the stronger the beings are, the more magic it consumes from the user to be able to create it. After it is created, the user can summon it like the Celestial Spirits.
It won't be too strong of a magic as you can't create beings that are stronger than yourself or even as strong as yourself, because it will consume too much magic to create it. It's like how Gemini can only copy beings that are as strong as their Celestial Spirit mage or weaker.
@Squirrel98 They are pretty much the same, now that I think about it. I had some other stuff I wanted to include and just scrapped them, so I honestly might just change the name to green magic. Going to be honest, I straight up missed the existence of green magic when I was looking up magic.
Edit: actually, there are some minor differences, such as my version being able to only make regular unmodified plants, being able to keep them alive by drawing from the user, and the whole anti-desertification thing doesn’t apply. I’ll leave the name as green magic though, since it probably makes more sense and they are still pretty similar.
@Squirrel98 it sounds interesting but I'd like to see it typed out before I fully accept it. Get me a sheet and I'll look it over, but it should be fine. Plus, we do have another S class spot opened so you could always take that if you wanted to.
I'll do a preemptive claim on the S-rank slot by posting my WIP sheet for Magnus, mostly so that Juvvie can review the concept of the magic.
Standing at seven feet tall, Magnus seems to have been directly ripped out from a horror story with how long and thin his limbs are. This is the colour scheme of his clothes.
Name: Magnus Gottfried Ripley Age: Early Fifties Guild: Fairy Tail New or Veteran Member: New Location/Color of Guild Mark: Left side of his face, allegedly. Magic Type:Alchemical Magic - Magnus's magic focuses on the manipulation and alteration of elements after their core nature has been comprehended. The core processes of this magic are divided into different "gates", which are combined together to produce the effects Magnus desires. It is to be noted that, whilst these gates are numbered and ordered, it isn't needed for them to be done in such a way to utilize a desired gate. Moreover, they can be combined in whichever order Magnus finds more convenient. This isn't without drawbacks, however, as more magic will be expended in order to compensate the altered order, the amount escalating in proportion to how big the alteration is. The gates can be divided in three groups that share the same fundamental concepts and characteristics. They are as follows:
These gates are all focused on the basic manipulation of magic and energy, and are the core of Magnus' elemental prowess and versatility. These gates are the bread and butter of Magnus offensive and defensive kit, allowing him to use a barrage of elemental warfare whilst negating most of the damage he'd receive by turning the attacks into power to fuel his barrages.
1st Gate: Calcination - Purges the target elements from any impurity and progressively refines them to be the best quality of their natural state. 2nd Gate: Solution - Thins down the structure of the target elements by progressively transforming them into raw magical energy. 3rd Gate: Separation - Transforms raw magic into one of the four elemental types: Fire, Water, Air and Earth. 4th Gate: Conjunction - Gives form to elemental magic.
These gates operate by altering part of the nature of an element temporarily, letting Magnus shift his approach to a situation in unexpected ways to gain the upper hand
5th Gate: Putrefaction - Weakens and erodes the target elements, bringing decay upon them until they lose shape or are no more. Wood will be corroded until in cracks, and stone would gradually become sand. 6th Gate: Congelation - Solidifies and toughens the target elements, making them more resilent than they would naturally be. Silk would be as strong as steel, and brittle iron would withstand the largest of weights. 7th Gate: Cibation - Empowers the target elements, increasing their natural potency. A flame will rage more fierce and a breeze would become a storm. 8th Gate: Sublimation - Alters the physical state of the target elements. Gold will flow like a stream through the crevices of the floor, and the very air will become a wall.
These gates all affect and alter the core principles of an element and have lasting consequences. Because of this, they are both the most powerful and most difficult gates to utilize in Magnus arsenal. The amount of energy needed to use these tends to be prohibitize to be used in normal combat situation with the natural energy in the ambient and within Magnus body, as such these are often used in conjunction with Mercurial Gates to compensate for the cost.
9th Gate: Fermentation - Rouses and restores the target elements, slowly turning potential into reality and allowing them to grow and surpass their natural limits. A seedling will become a tree in less than a year and it shall tower over its peers. 10th Gate: Exaltation - Brings forth the potential the target elements have within them, turning them into their greatest version of themselves for as long as the energy within them allows it. A small bud will blossom into a large and beautiful flower in mere moments and it shall remain as that until it withers the entire branch it is in. 11th Gate: Multiplication - Through great cost and effort, the target elements are copied and recreated. What was one becomes two, and what were two become four. 12th Gate: Projection - The epitome of Alchemical Magic, and the hardest of the arts to master and execute; the alteration of the very nature of the target elements. An elixir becomes a panacea, and lead becomes gold.
Magic Rank: S
Strengths:
Versatility:
It's quite evident that the major strength of Magnus magic lies not within the power output he can potentially display but the vast array of situations he can cover with it. Long-range combat or melee; offensive or defensive support; siege or defense, Magnus can fill whichever role he wishes and perform well in it.
Resourceful:
Thanks to his years work and research, Magnus has quite a lot of contacts across the continent he can get in touch with to get whatever he feels he needs. Moreover, he's liable to have a trinket or two laying around that could be useful for whichever task is at hand at the moment and, if that's not enough, he can simply provide some capital to compensate.
Perceptive:
As much of a crazed fellow he may seem at first sight, it's undeniable that Magnus is an incredibly sharp man. Through the extensive work he put into developing his magic he also honed his senses to a level that he can spot oddities before others do so.
Studious:
A lot of work had to be put in order for the Alchemical Magic to be created, and plenty of tomes and scrolls were exhausted in the process. As such, this man's mind is filled with knowledge of magic and the several ways it can be manipulated. Coupled with his sharp senses, this allows him to bring out the potential of his Mercurial Gates in a combat situation by recognizing what sort of magic is being used and reacting appropiately.
Weaknesses:
Self-interested
At the end of the day, Magnus is in it only for himself and his research. He will only lend a hand if there's anything he can get out of the situation, and his loyalties are absurdly fluid. He forms no attachments unless he's benefited by it, and sees bonds as something frivolous that can be lived without. He's a man that cannot be trusted.
Arrogant
Magnus always talks and acts as if everyone else is, ultimately, inferior than him. He will always see himself as ineffable and that his actions all serve a greater purpose, and will treat those who disagree with scorn and prepotency. After all, he's the only one with the vision to understand what truly matters, right? Whether or not his claims of grandeur are justified is something that is yet to be proven.
Comprehension
More so related to his magic rather than his personality, the extent of his powers are limited by his own knowledge that, whilst reaching encyclopedic levels, is still limited in the end. Moreover, he can only use his magic on things he knows and understands, as he has to factor in the different aspects of the target, and the complexity of his target adds to the difficulty. For example, he can easily use his magic on simple things like ice, wood, metals or fire, as they're easy to understand. However, to be able to use his powers on a regular sword as a whole he needs to know what are its different parts and what are they made of. If there's any sort of enchantment on it already he also has to know it as well. Whilst this is palliated by his extensive knowledge, at he end of the day the power of this magic is limited by the same thing. This effectively impedes him from using it on living beings, as life itself is incredibly complex and each person is different than each other. His ultimate goal in life is the complete understanding of all things for this very reason.
Overcomplication
Magnus has the strange need to be very elaborate on his every action, mostly for dramatic effect. Walking through the door is too simple, and as such he'll take measures to the level of using magic to blow them open as he makes his way in. Perhaps even a small fireworks display.
Control Freak:
Two decades of lonesome research lead to several quirks. Flasks must be facing a certain way, papers must be placed at a certain desk and things must be done in a certain way. Whether they're merely for convenience in the daily life, from preconceived notions or because he needs things that way for them to work, Magnus cannot stand people messing with the way he sees that things must be done.
Personality: Background: Other:
I'll be tinkering on this very post with any modifications and listing the changes in subsequent posts on the thread, the next changes in mind being filling out the rest of the items and making it look pleasant to the eye.
1st Gate: Purifies stuff 2nd Gate: Turns stuff into raw magic over time. 3rd Gate: Turns raw magic into elemental magic. 4th Gate: Controls elemental magic (Throwing fireballs, manipulating water, creating gusts of wind or creating earth spikes)
5th Gate: Weaken stuff 6th Gate: Makes stuff stronger and harder. 7th Gate: Potency buff to stuff 8th Gate: Change if stuff is solid, liquid or gaseous
9th Gate: Heals stuff and makes it better over time. 10th Gate: Super buff to stuff, but it can lead to it breaking. 11th Gate: Make more stuff. 12th Gate: Change stuff.
@Juvvie My Character Sheet is done, so I hope you like it :)
Name
Hunter, that is all you need to know. He does not like to be called Jacob. The reason for that is none of your business.
Age
He is 19 years old. His birthday is on the first of March.
Guild
Fairy Tail is the guild he belongs to.
New or Veteran Member
He has been a Fairy Tail member for the last two weeks. However, he does not know any names yet and has not tried to make any friends. Talking to people is not his favorite thing to do.
Location of Guild Mark
His Guild Mark is located on the front of his left shoulder.
Color of Guild Mark
His Guild Mark has the same color as is hair, which is a dark red color.
Magic Type
Imagination Magic
Imagination Magic is a type of Spatial Magic, which allows the user to create their own beings from their imagination. The beings have a physical form, which means that they can get hurt and tired from fighting. However, they are not able to die on Earth if the user still has magic left. The being is automatically teleported towards the world he lives in, where he can regain his power. If the user does not have enough magic to transport his spirit back, the being will be able to die. If the user dies, its beings will die with him or her and the world will disappear.
The creation of the first being consumes a lot of magic as the user also has to create a world between Heaven and Earth. The world will be used as a living place for all the beings that the user will create. There exists one world for every Imagination mage. That is why the first being that is created, is often a small and weak one. The creation of a being will always consume a lot of magic, but the effort it takes becomes less after a world is created.
To be able to use Imagination Magic, the user has to have an Imagine. An Imagine is a special pen. When the user draws with an Imagine, the drawing comes to live. The amount of Imagines on Earth is limited, so one is often gained from parents or other family members. However, an Imagine will not react to any kind of mage. For someone who does not have Imagination Magic, it will be a pen like any other.
There is a rumour among Imagination mages. After you create a being that is stronger than a mage from class S, your Imagine turns into a gold color. It is unknown if the rumour is true and what the golden Imagine will due. Another rumour says that creating new beings will become very easy and will not consume that much magic anymore.
Sofia is the first being that Hunter created. It is a small, but cute cat. She is very stubborn and pretends to hate everyone that is not Hunter. It is a big contrast with her voice, which sounds very cute and sweet. Many other mages undervalue Sofia as she does not look dangerous at all. It is unknown what she is able to do as Hunter hardly ever fights with her. However, that does not mean that she cannot fight. The only thing that is known is that mages throw up whenever Sofia gets angry.
Shelly is actually taller than is shown in the image. She is as tall as a ten years old girl. Her magic is similar to Flare Corona's Crimson Hair Magic, but without the use of fire magic. Her hair will listen to her, so she can fight with it.
Magic Rank
His Magic Rank is B.
Strengths
He is often seen drawing and has a lot of talent for it. His drawings always turn out good enough for other people to see. He never draws locations or things that are not alive, like fruit or a landscape. All of his drawings are cute and look as if the artist is a girl.
~~~
He is a good listener and likes to listen to other people. He will not interrupt someone when they are telling a story. When someone gets to know him, they start to feel as if they can tell him anything. They start to feel close to him, sometimes closer than he would want. When he tries to tell them that he wants them to slow down with their friendship, they never take it well. That is how he loses his friends.
~~~
As he does not want to lose anyone else, he is very protective of the people he likes. Even though people will not notice it, he loves Fairy Tail and its members. They are protective of their family and trusts its members. He hopes to someday become someone who is able to be as happy and social as the other members. He thinks that protecting everyone who needs it is the first step towards become such a member.
Weaknesses
He is not good at talking to people. He does not know what he has to say, that is why he keeps quite. Other people often mistake it for being rude or asocial. He is interested in making friends, but he does not know how to do it. His face does not show any emotion, except for the fact that he always looks as if he is angry.
~~~
His physical condition is not very good, that is why it is difficult for him to create his beings. However, it is easy for him to summon them and use them. He is not able to do any kind of sport or run for a long time. As running away for things is a necessary ability for mages, he trains himself late at night to get better at it. He has not told anyone that he trains at night, even though he thinks himself that he should. He does not have any friends, so he does not know who to tell. But what if his body cannot take it anymore and something happens to him while the others are asleep?
~~~
He has problems sleeping, that is why he often looks tired and why his face looks angry. The problem probably has something to do with the death of his brother. He started having problems sleeping the moment he heard that his brother had died. It will probably disappear when he stops feeling guilty, but he does not know how to let the feeling go away.
Personality
Hunter looks totally like a slob. He is not a morning person and likes to wear comfortable clothes instead of fancy, good looking ones. In the morning, he will not react to anything you say to him until he gets two strong cups of coffee. After the first one, he will look at you when you talk to him and sometimes even make a sound. After the second one, he is able to talk with you. Well, he is not much of a talker, but he will be able to say something. He likes to have people around, but he does not know how to behave around them.
Background
Hunter lived together with his father and older brother until he became fifteen years old. They did not have much money, but they had enough to be able to eat and have a roof above their heads. When Hunter was thirteen years old and his older brother sixteen years old, their father got cancer inside his lungs. They could not pay for medicine or any kind of treatment, so his brother asked their uncle to pay for it. Their uncle was very rich, but did not get along with their father, so he would not give the money as a gift. However, he did give it to them with the condition that Hunter's brother started working for him.
They were able to let their father stay in the hospital and pay for his medicine and treatment, but it did not work out. Their father died two years later, but their uncle still wanted Hunter's brother to work for him. He said that they still had not compensated for the costs of the treatment and medicines. One year later, Hunter's older brother died at work. He keeps on blaming his uncle for his older brother's death.
The reason that he does not like to be called Jacob is that his name was the last word that his brother could say before he died. Hunter was not with his brother when he died, but every time that he hears his own name, he imagines his brother's voice. He feels guilty that he was not with him when he died, so he hears always hears his brother's voice when someone says Jacob.
Other
The image one can see above is a being that Hunter has been trying to create ever since he gained his Imagine. He will not tell anyone what the powers of the being are or what it is called. That is a secret that he will keep for himself.
Okay so I do believe that everyone has their characyer sheets in now. As for storyline arcs, I am thinking that first the Harvest Festival will be held which is what the current master of Fairy Tail uses to recruit new members. I figured this was the perfect time due to the parade that Fairy Tail puts on at the end of it.
For any veteran members, I do believe we have a few, you will be participating in the parade. Though, no every member does on principle so if you have a reason for wanting to sit out that is fine as well.
I'm trying to come up with a major storyline to get us going, I'm thinking something along the lines of a dark guild moving in on Magnolia, intent on finding a legendary item imbued with black magic, said to be from the book of Zeref. Here's the gist:
°Demon's Wing, a dark guild working under the Oracion Seis, has been on the search for some time for the Fury Soul. Legend says this item is a small book containing a dark spell, when casts a large demon the size of Kardia Cathedral will be called forth, jet black with large wings and razor sharp teeth. The Fury Soul is what it sounds like, a Fury from the pits of hell that eats human souls. The demon has been said to decimate cities, sticking the souls out of all who pass it's wake. Demon's Wing has been searching for this item and the have finally located it, sealed deep beneath Magnolia. It is rumored to be located deep in a shrine below the city, connected to the surface by man-made tunnels. Years ago it was sealed there and protected by complicated defensive magic, hopefully to never be touched again. Until now....
So that's my general idea. Let me know what you all think of it and also if you have any ideas for future arcs. I can try and get the starter up either later today or tomorrow, depending on what sort of free time I'm alloted. I work until much later so it might take a while, but I will try to get to it asap.
@SubjectVision@Geyter I know you both still have work to do on your sheets, as least I think? Take your time by the way no rush, we can work out the storyline a bit more before I actually Jumpstart this thing of need be :)
