PLOT
Creisal: a world untouched by humans. The continent is graced with plains, mountains, rivers, forests, snowy peaks, forests, and more. The land is so large that even its inhabitants, human-beast hybrids called Pokemon, haven't discovered everything the landmass has to offer. Some say that to the far west lies the edge of the world, and those who travel there never return.
While Creisal undergoes political tension and conflict between its three Clans and noble families, the continent often remains in a state of relative peace. The last war occurred almost one-hundred fifty years ago, and it had wiped out much of Creisal's population and two of its royal families. Pokemon try to remain out of conflict ever since the war, although, at times, their tensions tread close to rekindling old and vengeful flames.
But this is not a story of Pokemon being at each other's throats. A new adversary stalks the shadows, and while they do not have the elemental prowess of Creisal's inhabitants, they are just as dangerous. Pokemon are disappearing and showing up dead, and a new, dark era falls over the land. A group of young Pokemon, driven by desperation, must go on a dangerous journey in order to save their people...
FAQ
Ambra, you said that this RP will have gijinkas, not Pokemon!
The creatures that we know as Pokemon (the fearsome/fuzzy/cute/cuddly animals that ride along on our shoulders) don't exist. In this world, the gijinkas are known as Pokemon.
Okay, then what exactly are Pokemon in this world?
Pokemon are human-beast hybrids that bear traits and attributes to the Pokemon that we know. Overall, they look human. However, they have wings, tails, fangs, etc. A Charizard has the trademark wings and candlelit tail, perhaps claws and fangs. A Delcatty has the long ears and fluffy tail. A Sawsbuck has antlers and a mane of fur. It all varies, but you should get the concept by now.
Pokemon have four attacks in their move sets. However, simple bites, scratches, tail lashes, and other forms of hand-to-hand combat do not count as moves. Attacks such as Fly and Surf don't count as moves, either. Some Pokemon may choose to fight with weapons such as bows and swords-- sometimes, they use their feathers as arrows or poison to coat their weapons!
What is the world like? Is it medieval, modern, etc?
Good question! Criesal is actually a mix of both. There are urban cities in certain areas (although they are rare), but most settlements fall under medieval constructs. Technology such as guns and tanks do not exist in Creisal. However, I might allow things such as television and such in the urban areas.
Can I play a legendary?
No. Some Pokemon are not allowed. This includes all legendaries and certain psuedo-legends. I would also recommend that you stick to the more animal-like Pokemon rather than human-like ones.
Wait, do Pokemon eat other Pokemon?
Not usually. There are some groups of Pokemon that do prey on others. For ethical reasons, we're going to say that 99% of carnivorous and omnivorous Pokemon consume animals such as cows, pigs, hare, etc.
What happens when Pokemon of different species breed?
Unlike in the games, Pokemon do not lay eggs. Even the reptilian ones give live birth. Like humans, they often bear one child at a time. The child's breed may match the mother's or father's. For instance, a group of four siblings may consist of two Growlithe and two Ninetails, three Growlithe and one Ninetails, etc.
Do Pokemon evolve?
Yes. Pokemon are born at the first stage of evolution. They evolve once they complete feats. The feat may involve them winning many battles or maturing in any other way. By their mid-twenties, Pokemon are expected to be at their final stages.
Can we play as evolved Pokemon?
Yes, you can! Since we are main characters, we are able to start off decently strong. However, we will be inexperienced in battle overall.
