I for one am good for a short or long rest but at least lets wait until the trog horde thins out inside the ruins before we decide to trek further in.

ah but whilst the trogs are all gathered in one place is the best time to make our move! If we take a long rest we have to wait out the rest of the day and the night. unless you want to set off in the darkness.

Nada. Even if you had tried to do prior research about Nurn, information is scares, all the stories are conflicted with one another, and the only one consistent thing is that the port town exists. Even when lies immediately beyond changes depending on where you got your source.
And I can certainly tell you no one has ever mentioned cyclop being within the ruins of Brighthaven before. A little something special just for you guys.
I suppose an 18 would be sufficient?

There have never been tales of kobolds who have ever gone to the island and return alive. Hell not even if any dragons who have gone to the ruins and returned. Certainly tales of dragons who live there, but the stories about them seem to make the dragons out more akin to mad beasts than wise and cunning creates kobolds generally worship and follow. Indeed it seems like most of the tales she would know about the ruins are various cautionary tales, as they all end in some form of tragedy brought about either due to the adventurers own bad luck or foolishness.
