Personality: Damien’s someone that once you’ve met, is pretty unforgettable. He likes to live it up and enjoys nothing more than crazy schemes at 2:30am with a group of accomplices, making impromptu trips to the mall, or going to the casino on the weekends to gamble away his last paycheck. He thinks he’s witty and there might be partial truth to that. However, he isn’t someone for the weak of heart or the sensitive, he finds fun getting other’s skin and even most of his friends have found themselves being driven up a wall by him at one time or another. Even more perplexing, is that despite how he might treat others on occasion, he thrives off attention and companionship. Gregarious to a fault, he would rather hang out with his worst enemy than spend ten minutes alone.

Damien finds humor even in the bleakest moments and refuses to be brought down by others pessimism. He will adapt, that is certain. He can put up a facade of confidence, even when he’s scared or uncertain. He can be quite shallow and judgemental, however, and more serious individuals may find his carefree behaviors exasperating.

That’s not to say that he’s always spontaneous and full of energy, however. There are periods where he feels like doing absolutely nothing. Like all the zest he showed before has suddenly been zapped from him and you’re left with a shell. He lets relationships and plans fall apart, he doesn’t want to do more than lay in bed and sleep. He still wants to hang out with others, but tends to be quieter and more like a shadow than a man. His apathy can be infuriating to those depending on him to get things done, and mind-boggling for his friends. He tends to spring back up from these periods quickly, but it can make living with him difficult.

Likes and Dislikes:
Likes:

• Rain on a clear day: There’s something magical about it being a crystal clear day, and then those few little drops of water come falling out of the sky and splatter onto the ground. It’s not exactly raining though, at least not a whole lot. It’s really just a sprinkle and Damien doesn’t know why he appreciates that so much, but he really does.
• Opinionated people: These kinds of people are fun to talk to. Some people might avoid confrontation, but those people are bland. Damien likes to hang around people he could have fun with, and someone with bold opinions is sure to be entertaining.
• Wearing bold makeup: If he’s going out, he’s going all out.
• Parties and other large social gatherings: If you couldn’t tell already, Damien’s extraverted and loves having company. The more, the merrier.

Dislikes:

• Snow: Okay, Damien can't stand the snow. First off, nothing ruins a day faster when you get snow in your shoe and then your sOCK IS WET FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. Then you have to wear a coat over that cute outfit you spent so much time putting together and waddle your ass through the snow. Even worse, traffic is all backed up and no one’s getting anywhere.
• Being alone: Being alone is Damien’s kryptonite. He can’t stand it. He has to find someone to go bother. There’s nothing worse than being alone in Damien’s mind. You’re stuck there, alone, with no company other than yourself. Damien doesn’t know how some people can voluntarily shut themselves away like that. He tries to avoid this whenever possible.
• People who are passive and afraid to voice their own opinions: These people are generally boring in Damien’s opinion and not fun to talk to. Basically they’ll just agree with whatever you say and there’s no real conversation going on. Also they’re most likely going to spoil your fun every now and then because they’re usually responsible as well. Double yikes.
• Schedules: Actually coming up with a routine sounds like something a responsible adult would do; Damien is not a responsible adult.

Reason for sharing the duplex?: First of all, Damien doesn't ever want to live alone, he's gonna drive himself crazy being cooped up without anyone else there to talk to. Yeah, no thanks.
Secondly, Damien is a broke college student who really didn't consider the tuition and costs of moving from Missouri all the way to California. He can't afford much right now, let alone a house.

Room Aesthetic: Damien’s room is tailored for comfort. We got the bean bag chairs, the fuzzy area rug, some of those plush throw blankets that are sliding off of the bed and onto the floor, we have some incense burning on the small wooden dresser. Three lava lamps all going at once because one wasn’t enough. It’s usually dark on his side of the room and you’re liable to trip on whatever crap he’s got laying on the floor because he’s too lazy to pick it up. His bed is actually one of those couches that folds out into a bed and while usually those beds are really uncomfortable to sleep on, he has so many blankets and pillows that he could probably sink into them and no one would know where he was.

Backstory: Damien had a relatively normal childhood: he never knew his father, but doesn't really have an itching to seek him out, he had a stable, if slightly distant relationship with his mom, and an older half-brother who Damien still isn't sure he understands completely, despite growing up with him all his life.

Growing up in downtown Kansas City, there was a lot of crime and it wasn’t really the ideal place to raise two young boys. Damien admires his mother for raising them all by herself, but growing up, he certainly didn’t make it easy for her. He fell in with a rough crowd of kids during his teenage years; vandalizing people’s sheds, sneaking into bars, and more was the order for the night. Fights weren’t unusual back then and neither was bringing a boy home for the night while his mother was working overtime. As he reflects on it, a lot of dumb mistakes were made that he wishes he could erase now. As he grew older he realized that he was making some bad choices that could very possibly ruin the rest of his life. He wanted to turn his life around, but felt as though it was too late. It wasn’t until he had a heart-to-heart conversation with his brother (Who up until this point was embarrassed and disappointed in Damien) that he felt the courage to make change in his life and make amends. Leaving his old friends was hard for him to do, as cutting people out of your life can often be, but his brother had urged him that it was necessary. When he looks back at it now, being successfully enrolled at a nice 4-year college all the way across the nation, Damien can only fathom what would have happened if he never left.

Personality: An extremely unique individual, Quartz is a person not a lot of people really understand, but that’s also what makes them interesting. Seeming to be going in 50 directions at once, they have more goals and plans than they could probably accomplish in 3 lifetimes. Fascinated by everything, they’re willing to try anything and everything just for the experience, and almost can’t justify doing the same thing twice. In some people, this might lead to unnecessary risk taking and reckless behavior, but Quartz always weighs decisions before making them, and never lives beyond their means, always careful with their money and surprisingly cautious when there is risks involved. That said, they can be rather indecisive at times, paralized by the sheer amount of options, and thus have to plan many things out in advance so they don’t get conflicted later. Chances are, if they go out to eat they’ve had the spot and their exact order planned out for weeks.

Almost uncannily observant, their eye for detail is nearly unmatched. They seem to be able to look through people, noticing things that many wouldn’t or would simply overlook. The closer they are to someone, the better they get at reading their subtle changes in behavior and mood, particularly if they have any notable quirks or habits. They also pay attention to the details of many other things, and can be rather picky, because once they notice something they can’t seem to unsee it or ignore it. They take an annoyingly long time to get ready in the mornings because they have to get every detail of their outfit and makeup perfect or else they won’t be able to think about anything else all day long.

They love to be around others, as long as the interactions are surface level on their end. They love to hear others life stories, helping out with deep problems, all sorts of stuff. But then it comes to themself, they have nothing to say. Nobody is quite sure of the reason, but they just sort of dismiss questions, particularly about their early life. They love to talk about their career, their college education, all the interesting things they’ve done, but never their struggles, childhood, family, ect. A lot of it is just left to mystery.
Likes and Dislikes:
Likes:
-Unique Items of Clothing/Jewelry: There’s nothing they like more than something that stands out. They’re extremely attracted to things that stand out from what everyone else is wearing, and even their most toned-down outfits draw attention. If it’s some sort of gaudy statement piece, chances are they’re going to buy it.
-Detailed Plans and Intense Schedules: They can’t stand having time unstructured and things unaccounted for when they go out. Every minute is accounted for in their plans, and they do make note of when they get off schedule, even if they don’t intend to make up that time.
-Listening: Even if they’re competent in friendly banter and enjoy a good conversation, their favorite thing is just to listen to people talk. Often it can feel like you’re speaking to an interviewer because they do their best to always ask questions but never answer any, or at least not in full detail.
-Houseplants: They find themselves allergic to most animals, and just have never really wanted to own a reptile, as much as they do like them. So some cute plants are a good alternative. They’re little green friends who just give you so much love and all you have to do is water them and make sure they get good light!
Dislikes:
-Disorganization/Untidiness: Loose plans, something out of place, laundry stacked up so high in the hamper that its overflowing, all little things many wouldn’t even blink at, but it secretly greatly upsets them. Although most of the time, they’ll fix the issue themselves, whatever it takes for them to not get into a spat over something silly.
-Routine: Routine is not the same as good planning and a tight schedule. Routine is monotonous, and that’s something they can’t handle. If every day was the same for them, they’d feel cooped up and trapped by that situation, and that’s no way to live.
-Excessive Sun: Do you want to get skin damage? They certainly don’t. They fully plan on having perfect skin until their 50, even if they have to look like a vampire to do it.
-Staying at Home: A good day in is nice now and again, but they can’t go too long without getting out of the house and doing something. Even if it’s just a walk, they’d do anything to escape for a bit.
Reason for sharing the duplex?: Do you even know how hard it is to find an affordable apartment in this town? They’re not paying 800$ a month just to live in what amounts to a walk in closet.

Room Aesthetic: Their space is dark, monochromatic, and elegant. Looking at it by itself, you’d almost think you were looking at a black and white image, so they’re guaranteed to be the most colorful thing in the space. Everything is meticulously put together and constantly clean. The only real visible color is the various unique looking houseplants they have stashed around. Some of the notable furniture they have is tall black bookcase with many various books arranged on it, as well as a few of their plants and some more geometric decorations. The books they have are on a range of topics, really everything one can imagine although nearly all of them are nonfiction. Their bed, which they always make when they get up in the morning, is one that has drawers below the bed, which are completely packed with clothing. Their nightstand also has a cabinet beneath stacked with boxes of jewelry, and at the foot of their bed is a chest filled with most of their shoes. They also have taken over the closet in the room, which is completely packed with their ridiculous clothing and other possessions that they haven’t managed to shove somewhere else in the room.

Backstory: Most of their past seems to be a mystery, and they certainly don’t go out of their way to talk about their childhood. The only thing most people can be sure of is that the town they were living in just wasn’t their speed. Unable to find any opportunities they wanted, they swiftly moved out after finishing highschool early. Always an incredibly fast learner and more intelligent than their peers, living out in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere provided them with nothing. At first they moved to a small city, getting their first degree in Psychology as well as an online degree in Counseling, and are now moving on to study pre-med.

As far as work goes, they have many artistic endeavours they take on simultaneously. Interested in everything from digital art to painting to photography to sculpture, even music and creating clothing, they gravitate towards one thing for a bit, do commissions or make pieces to sell, then move on to the next thing in as little as a month, or really as soon as they’re done.
