Note that this is just to get you a heads up on the little things. It's going to focus mostly on the thematic fixing and minor ability changes and will probably have only a microscopic effect on me actually accepting characters tomorrow. After all, considering characters based on little thematic flavourings instead of the character personality and junk themselves is kind of weird. Don't feel the need to fix all of this within 24 hours or however long you read all of this kind of stuff! This will have practically no bearing on your character. Going to reiterate this point. Fixing the lil' things I say in this will have very little effect on who's picked for the maximum good-vibes party comp. Though, I'd still want it all to be fixed by the IC release (IF YE DARE GET ACCEPTED)

Marigold is mostly thematically fine. If you like, wanted the race to be Giant, I'd be fine with it. It's thematically in tune with the universe. But it's not a big problem if they're a human. After all, there's a 5'11" dwarf in Danmachi so being the Danmachi equivalent of Scott Steiner. Be a giant race if you want, or continue to be a human. Either way is fine.

straight up you gotta add "has a chance" to diafanís tychí. Having constant rare drops is a bit too wild for me to deal with. Besides that, some lore fixes: Gods don't have human lives in Danmachi. They're still gods; they've just descended from heaven.

A bit too many skills, I would say. All of them are pretty strong, too. I'd honestly suggest on cutting one and weakening another, but eh. The backstory is pretty wrong, though. I'm avoiding like, 95% of the canon story so Ares probably won't be in this incarnation where he constantly invades Orario to prove he has big weenie. Plus gods can't have children.

He's a god damn genetic freak with weird long arms. Which is a top notch choice, beeteedubs. I'd say that Sanguinem Ludo really wouldn't be a rare skill because 1) it's not really that strong, and 2) one-on-one boost wouldn't really be that rare. Comedically enough, Inspirante would probably be rare because most mind fatigue related stuff is all passive regen or regen after casting spells.

I'd probably end up slightly changing the spells because the vast majority of magic requires chants. Name convention is a tiny bit out of flavour, but that's because Danmachi spells range from foreign language to weird chuuni shit 99% of the time. I would probably just help fix the magic where you to be accepted tomorrow.

is kanabo in vogue or something? In regards to the skill—thank god I'm not counting numbers, being skill accountant is lame is heck. You'd still have a higher STR gain that everyone else though. Basically, it's the perfect flavour town ability.

Now here's a tiny thing just going forwards. The gods in Danmachi are undeniably human-looking. They have pretty skin and banger hair, but they're human. I recognize that the author has made this decision, but given it's a stupid ass decision, I've elected to ignore it. Having gods that look not as human is fuckin a-okay and there's very little reason why not to have it.

Gods are also weak as fuck while they're on not!Earthrealm so her entire killing persona is going to be directed on the private property of other people and gods. Maybe she can get a fly or two, but even a level 1 adventurer with garbage stats could beat her in a fight. Not that they would ever fight her; fighting gods = perma fucked in the afterlife. This is more of a heads up.

Also, if you think that character concept might be a bit too small-brained, you really do live on a peak above us all. I've seriously written a character that was literally a massive head with arms and legs attached in a monster girl RP. A monster girl RP. I'm literally the dumbest motherfucker in existence, all characters are serious to me.

Same kinda stuff about gods from above applied here. Non-human gods are cool.

The god is def. a bit of a problem, though. Every single god in Danmachi is based on an actual god. From what I can tell, there's really no ancient god named Moth who acted as ye olde travel agent. It's also a bit weird because in the Danmachi mythos, people don't really pray to the gods, though. Pretty sure about it, anyways. Not sure if wishing to date a big-chested loli legally counts as praying. He also doesn't really seem like the sort that would actually devote his time to helping a gang of good guy gods with realpolitik, on account of the fact that he's a weird schizoid.

Which is why I'm controlling them for most of the time. Gods are more of a backdrop than a main plot point for this. The RP is focusing on dungeoning and the growth of your characters, after all. Each scene won't be filled with like, 20 gods though. This is just so you can have your hot divine mom/dad interact with you in private seshes.

Thanks to @vox I got a nifty excel sheet that balanced the stats for me, although I was sorta surprised I could max out str and have otherwise high stats simply by dropping int to 1. Rest assured that I accountancy'd the stats for you and they average out to a neat 13 (which should be like, the average).

Also I should warn I have no idea what the anime that this is based on is about so that's why my sheet probably seems like I just wrote something random and called it a day.

As a foreword, I'd like to thank everyone for their interest, characters, and effort they put towards this RP so far. Unfortunately, I'm not a capable enough GM to handle as many people as I like. Therefore, I am only accepting 5 people. I would really just like to say to those who are unable to make it in that I still enjoyed your characters. If I had the ability to accept all of you, I would have. If people drop/ghost, y'all will be the first I'll message to refill the ranks.

So without any further ado, the characters which will form the basis of the party (and a few comments both meta and review):


Squad mom is our lawful good paladin. Everyone party needs one. Don't @ me.

Now, because of how thematically weird and situational sharing wounds are, I'll probably have to state how I believe this ability should work. There's a bunch of weird bad logic bits with sharing wounds/taking damage from the target, so I think I managed a way to make it mechanically sound. By forming your connection, your durability and the target's durability would combine and you'd share all damage. Wounds would be lessened, but you'd share in the same wounds. This is to solve the conundrum of what happens if you get stabbed and the object stays lodged in. A higher durability would make it so that the object would have a harder time piercing.

Well, I don't need to beat you up for posting your character in the CHAR tab. ggwp. Ya boi is a great addition considering how his lackadaisical nature and constant no-reason-lying make for a good addition.

Don't really have much to say in terms of the little things, considering you ain't got no magic and your only skill is good.


Oben is a pretty interesting character with the carefree happiness hiding his TRUE and INNER DARKNESS.

This is kinda fucked but like, I'm making another change to the skill. You don't actually have to write everything since I'm dealing with the skills and magic and stuff from now on, but with the addition of two people with last hit abilities, one has to get cut. The one that has to change is Oben's, unfortunately. This is because of the difference between Grim and Oben. Grim's last hit ability is pure flavour. It increases her strength gain, but doesn't change the overarching narrative. Oben's can, as some rare drops are bound to be ridiculous. This means I'm adding this little line:

Oben and his party has a chance to acquire rare loot if he lands the last blow on his enemies

This is to stop last hit fighting in the party, which would make writing fights a lot easier. Now, you gotta only fight with one person for last hits instead of two.


Everyone's favourite genetic freak, Castor brings a lot of confidence to the party. He can butt heads with Grim but still rely on squad mom because he's a big ol' awkward bool.

Not really much to say anymore on thematic flavouring/rulings, since they're all fine as is.


Buff brat makes for a great foil with the other characters. Really like what you've done. Funnily enough, you managed to make fun of Danmachi unintentionally with the super redonk armour. also fuck it's weird because odin is a character and you just made it weird because now wtf 2 odin

This is an important bit. When you put your character in the CHAR tab, just put the top half of your CS sheet. The god CS was primarily for me and I'm updating the stats. This means that your CS be composed of your image and your name down to the backstory. It's not actually like, that important since you can edit it later and I'm still going to keep track of it all myself.

Anyways, four front liners and one back liner means Varanense can AFK forever until you all die to something you can't out DPS. Awesome. I'm fine with this. Would be better if we had one male player-made God amongst em, but I guess we can't have everything.

There's also potentially some pretty gnarly balancing acts that are going to have to be made if both Kori's and the target's durabilities are combined, assuming durability is something like damage reduction and not health. Assuming there is DR of any sort, since if there is say Kori shields Grim who has a pretty high STR+END, coupled with Kori's own fairly high STR+END, then is there anything level appropriate that could touch either of them?



@OwO's word is law of course, so I'm fine with any ruling, but I thought I'd throw in my own thoughts into how I envisioned the skill working since it'll help me know what my character's capabilities are when writing.

Ye, you're right on that. And I think I kinda brain blasted myself in my own explanation. I think what you're saying makes sense, but the big (it's actually like, super small) issue is 'what happens if the target is stabbed and they leave the pointy end inside?'

So this would be about the thematics about how the ability would work, not the mechanics. NGL, I actually forgot that the word 'thematics' existed. BEEN A LONG DAY. I'm now thinking that if the target gets stabbed and it would be enough to basically breach the combined defense, it would basically demolish both of their health. Target would still get stabbed and Kori would eat the full bit of damage. She'd basically be a tank weak to pierce, which is a pretty standard affair in RPGs.

If by "leaving the pointy end inside" you mean that target takes continual damage from having a new plugged hole in their body, slap something like a bleeding status effect where they take x amount of damage per post round in which case it's up to you on whether Kori's skill shares in that damage or if it's only contact damage that she reduces. I'd like the former, if only so it can lead to situations where I get to stroke my ego more Kori could get some neat muted hero moments.

Thematically, maybe it's something like Kori and her target(s) have connected lifeforces or something, where every time the target is hit she sacrifices some of her own health or possibly her own literal body in place of the target. Bit hard to come up with a reason for me since magic isn't too well defined in Danmachi, but I mean maybe it can also tie in because Kori can also do some healing magic as well so maybe the Shielding skill is more like some instant blood magic shenanigans to heal the target using Kori's own body rather than using the mind to fuel the healing.

Another interesting route that it could take is that instead of the target's damage going towards Kori own body, it instead gives her an appropriate amount of mind fatigue. This could be explained by instead of sharing the physical wound, Kori more takes on some of the mental shock and burden of having new surprise orifices appear on your body, which I think is more in line and appropriate with how magic works in Danmachi. It'll also give a nice balancing act of "how much mind fatigue can I take before I don't have enough to patch everyone up afterwards" since I think Kori is also the only party member that can do any magical healing.

I'm also down for extra damage in the case of all defenses breached.

In the end, it'll probably not matter all that much. I'm sure it's less brain-shattering for Burger if you just didn't turn things into fancy mechanics. It's easy enough just to have injuries pop up on Kori while someone else takes less damage than they expect.

That being said, neither STR nor END really contribute to the ability for people to block blades with their muscles, because even GARETH LANDROCK, STRONGEST DWARF OF THE DUNGEON CITY, gets his butt skewered constantly. So even if Kori and Grim stacked their stuff together, it'd be more like 'stabbing through flesh that is 2x more dense' rather than 'stabbing through defensive values of D+ x2'.

END's more like stamina, afaik.

Oh yeah, I'm not too hung up on all the mechanics of everything, it's just something I automatically do when stats become involved. At the end of the day, I'll always write what's more story appropriate; the stats just help with deciding that.

Yea. Pretty much the main issue was trying to figure out what would happen if a knife stabbed directly into someone. Would the wound still be shared?

Back to the original design of it, but it's just super weak to getting stabbed. That's probably the easiest way for me to not get my brain blasted.
