I don't believe that should be a problem, unless you end up accidentally copying someone's weapon or Semblance or something, but that shouldn't be too hard to fix. Just offer your ideas first to any of the three GM's, AdmiralStalfos, EnterTheHero, or myself, or in the group in general, just for clarification.

I don't know why you would assume that just because you disagree with my opinion. I got to volume three and stopped at the end when Ruby became an unconscious super-saiyan who nuked a tower because angry, and told it's because her silver eyes make her super special. That pretty much ruined the canon story for me, even though I like the setting in general. With exception to the color naming rule. I was interested in this rp concept because it was following an entirely different story than the canon one.

Either way. My main gripe with the 'rule' is that it is, like I said, very, very loosely followed even in the canon. Most connections are 'alludes to' guesses by the wiki, often grasping at straws. Here's more examples.
Peter Port : "Peter" is derived from the Greek word "Πέτρος" (Petros), meaning "stone". "Port", as a surname, could be referring to his overweight, or "portly" appearance, or alternatively it could be a reference to Port wine, which is a type of red wine. (Maybe stone, but Peter may not even be of greek origin. And port wine is reaching if I've ever seen it)
Lei Ren : Liè is Chinese for "ardent". Ren is Japanese kanji for "lotus", hence his emblem. (Ardent usually means passionate, but it can also mean Glowing. For this purpose glowing sounds closer to a color, but then we're left with Glowing Lotus. Lotus flowers come in multiple different forms. Which one is he supposed to be? And if the name is supposed to be related to colors, then that is incredibly non-specific)
Glynda Goodwitch : "Glynda" is based from the name "Glenda", which comes from the Welsh glân ("holy, fair") and da ("good"). The concepts derived from Glynda's name, namely "holy" and "good" are often associated with the color white, but rarely purple. (Holy isn't a color, and like said there, it can sometimes be associated with a color... but her semblance is a different color. Also has nothing to do with her name.)
Cardin Winchester : In keeping with his team's bird-themed naming, his first name is likely also derived from the cardinal, an American bird species. This also keeps with the Color Naming Rule, as male cardinals are red birds. His first name may also be an alternate spelling of Carden, an Irish name meaning "From the black fortress". (conflicting information and reaching a bit, particularly since he doesn't have any red theming on him except for maybe the lower part of his sleeves)
Bolin Hori : Bolin is a Chinese name usually given to boys. It can mean "elder brother", or "rain". Rain brings to mind the color blue. The word hori roughly translates to "yellow" in Basque. "Hori" is derived from the Japanese surname "Horii". The first kanji can be translated to "moat". (Can mean either one for first name... then last name is using two languages simultaneously.)
Nadir Shiko : When said together, Nadir Shiko's first and last names sound like Nadeshiko, the Japanese name for a family of pink flowers commonly known as carnations. Nadeshiko also refers to the idealised Japanese woman. (So now puns count... And changing the language of first name from Arabic to Japanese... alright.)
Either way... my point is just that I think the rule is rather pointless because it is applied so loosely that 'alluding to' are the best many can come up with. Some are more obvious and that's fine, cool even. It makes sense given the history for many characters to have been named after colors. This can be flavor given to the world. But stating that EVERY character must do so when even the canon is barely consistent about it just seems unnecessary to me. Really though what I've said here hasn't really been about your particular rp. I just have seen it applied to every rwby rp I've seen for quite a long time and it's been annoying.
