Skingrad Company Headquarters

Just outside of the walls to Skingrad, stood the headquarters for the Skingrad Company. A building made up of grey stone that fitted in with the style of Skingrad. To the side of it was a blacksmiths forge and to the front of it was a courtyard were two people practiced with their swordplay. It was a dull day with dark clouds covering all of the sky, but it wasn't raining just yet. In the distance, the sound of lightning could be heard slightly. In the back room of the headquarters was a long hall and to the back of the room was a desk with a man sat behind it writing on some parchment. On the wall hung a Claymore and the room was painted in maroon. To the side was a massive log fire that lit up the room.

A younger man sauntered into the room, with his hands on his swords that hung on both of his hips. There were two chairs in front of the desk in which the younger man took a seat and put his feet up on the desk. Quintus, the man who was writing the letter glanced up to see his sons feet on the table then went back to writing the letter. "You're early... You're never early." Quintus said sharply.

"Well hello to you as well Father." Adrian replied sarcastically as he looked out the window. "I just thought I'd come and see how you are before this mission."

Quintus put down the quill and looked at him with an annoyed expression as he scratched the side of his head. "Ah forever the caring son aren't you."

Adrian laughed at him, "well I was just wanted to have a look at the room that will be mine one day."

Quintus shook his head. "Well the sooner you stop acting like a fool and take the business more seriously, it might make me consider stepping down and spending more time with your mother." Voices from outside the room started to get louder now. "I'm giving you the lead on this job and you better make sure it goes well. I don't want any excuses and this is a very big job, Skingrad are giving us a lot of Septims for this." Before they could continue, the members started to walk into the room.

Kalon casually sauntered down the dirt road that led to the Skingrad Companies base of operations, or his base of operations if you wanted to get really technical about it, as he cautiously examined the surrounding forest for any sign of those accursed yellow clad figures that seemed to follow him wherever he went.

Unfortunately they didn't seem to be interested in him at the moment, for the treeline remained an unbroken vista of mottled greens and browns. Most might consider this a good thing, but Kalon did not. He preferred to abide by the old saying and keep his enemies closer so he could more effectively plan around them. Shaking his head, he turned his attention back to the road ahead and tightened his grip on the leather strap that kept the satchel hanging off of his left shoulder from falling and spilling its contents all over the ground. He was getting closer to his destination and could now make out the outline of the building silhouetted against the ever darkening stormy gray sky.

After several more minutes of walking, Kalon finally entered the courtyard where a man and a woman, both of which looked to be in their early twenties, were practicing their swordplay and doing a pretty good job of it too, at least by his estimations anyway. Though he didn't know that much about the intricacies of sword fighting, having relied on magic and his fists when he couldn't talk his way out of dangerous situations, so maybe the way they were going at it would actually get them killed in a fight against a skilled opponent.

Although he supposed it didn't really matter as long as they could pull their weight in a fight.

Letting out a barely audible and rather unimpressed sounding "hmph" as he walked past them, Kalon strode up towards the door and rested his gloved hand on the rough wooden surface, pausing just long enough to examine the surrounding area for any unusual activity one last time before pushing it open and stepping inside.

"Go forth champion and take what is rightly yours." A soft and muted whisper told her. Flavia in her legionary armor stood a top hill of corpses. Her armor completely drenched in crimson ichor. Beneath her laid the shattered bodies of her past foes. Their eyes fixed on her with fearful stares. In front of her was a chalice. As he walked closer, the bronze cup tipped towards her. It spilled blood. "Drink and attain my gift. My gift of ever-lasting life." The voice told her. Tempting her to accept the bargain. She reached out for the chalice. Stretching her hands to grab this mysterious blessing that was being bestowed on her. Just as she did so, she was pulled back to reality.

Flavia was awoken rather abruptly. She couldn't tell who the person was that was shaking her leg. Telling her to get up and meet the others in the backroom. Flavia grunted at first, trying to ignore the person and get some more sleep. However they were relentless. "Alright alright! I'll get up! I'll be there in five minutes!" She yelled. At that she was finally left alone.

It took a few minutes to Flavia open her eyes and sit up straight. A few minutes more to shake off the grogginess from her system. She found herself still in the same dress she was wearing the night before. She touched her lip to see if it had healed from the bar brawl she had last night. She could still taste the blood in her mouth. "Talos Almighty I need something to eat." She muttered to herself as she began to stand up. The pounding headache she had would go away if she could just have some breakfast. It would have to wait though.

A few more minutes later and Flavia arrived at the backroom. Slamming it open as she had one hand one her face. The faster she could get through this meeting, the better. She was in desperate need of food. "Shor's blood Quintus. This better be good or I'm stabbing somebody." She said out loud in a cold and sinister tone. Talking down her boss without fear of retribution.

Cowl

Cowl found himself following someone else at a distance. Truthfully, Cowl had been moving along slowly and lost sight of the formidably dressed figure. It was easy enough to guess that the person was also heading to the Skingrad headquarters. The usual armor worn in the area was a guard kit or some leather armor thrown together by a bandit. Thoughts of the other individual aside, Cowl was happy - no happy wasn't the word for it - satisfied that the journey was over. He had gone a long distance on just his two legs. He was tired and needed some food.

The headquarters didn't have any gaudy features. Much like the city of Skingrad, the headquarters were gray. The company probably had other places to spend its coin other than paint. Plus, blending with the city probably made the city's residents happy. In the yard, he saw the same two sparring mercenaries. They appeared tired now as if they had been sparing for hours. Cowl paused to give a slight nod of his head to acknowledge the art that was swordplay. It took formidable reflexes, strength, stamina, and training to survive multiple battles. As a mage Cowl had yet to physically meet an opponent because of well-trained swordsmen. A few moments later Cowl resumed his trek to the door where he stepped inside without another thought.

Illya rarely went to any establishments, often favoring her own company but to be a mercenary in service to Quintus Jannus, was an honor she couldn't pass down since the man was a legend in her mind. She would make her way to the Skingrad Company, as fast as she could. However, she did have some form of hesitancy. She knew the risks and rewards of being a mercenary but still as she thought earlier, she couldn't pass him down. So off she went to find her way to the Skingrad Company, perhaps they would need someone with her skills as a hunter and archer.

Illya was exceptionally gifted at Archery, being able to strike her target at a range far greater than normal. Her other skills were apparently useful. She gave a small smile before a building came into view and she looked at the building and just tilted her head curiously. Was this the building she aimed to find. She approached it and eventually knew that it was the building she sought. So she entered the building and looked around the room she was in.

No one saw me. No one saw me. No one saw me. Every inch of Neras wanted to break out into a run. He walked quickly, stiffly through the streets, his heart pounding like a drum, his eyes darting constantly about him and there was a tremor to his hands. The Dunmer hadn't been able to help himself.

Who would of thought after so many years he would see a copy of it again? Just lying there innocently and unnoticed upon the shop's bookshelf. Neras' hand had reached out of thoughtless instinct. He knew the feel of the cover, the soft inscriptions upon it's spine, after all this time. He opened it and then he read.

Whosoever findeth this document, I call him brother.

For a moment the words of Mankar Camoran had brought him back to so long ago, to the secrets and rituals and promises he'd made, promises he'd broken. And then the spell was broken, Neras had frozen, suddenly aware of his surroundings. Aware of his foolishness. He'd shut the book, slowly put it back, feeling as if a thousand eyes resting on him. Turned, then he practically ran for it. Leaving the Mythic Dawn Commentaries behind him.

A string of muttered curses left Neras' mouth now. How could he have been so foolish? All these years, always careful, always checking! He tried to calm himself as he turned a sharp corner into an alleyway away from any watchful eyes, then tried to relax. No one saw me. And then a hand caught his shoulder.

Neras whirled at once, a dagger summoned to his hand and up to the throat of his would-be-assailant. It was the boys' terrified expression saved his life. Neras blinked, he recognised the youth from the Skingrad company and realised his mistake, releasing the lad's shirt he let the dagger fade away into mist.

"S-sorry." Neras stammered.

"The boss has called a meeting." The boy blurted out before turning and sprinting away from Neras, who could hardly blame him. The Dunmer sighed, then shakily he made his way back to the mercenary building. All a reminder he would never stop being afraid.

Once inside Neras followed his instinctive tendency to cling to corners, his plain, shabby clothes making him seem dull compared to the rest. He was almost himself again, that is regular amount of paranoia and fear, when the door was burst open unceremoniously. Neras flinched backwards, scambling, the dagger appearing, then once more disappearing as he composed himself then spat in anger.

"Come back when you're house trained you..." Neras trailed off and shrunk back as he saw the bruise on the armoured woman's face and took in her general temperament. And size. He then thought it best to side with her. "That is to say, why have you summoned us today Quintus?"

Jarett Nazir V'urdki

"So you tell me we didn't do anything yesterday?" Jarett stared at the half-naked man standing at the foot of his bed. His eyes wandered over the man's broad shoulders down to his defined biceps and back up to his face when said man cleared his throat. "What?"

"You fell asleep," the unnamed man shrugged a shoulder as he slipped on his uniform britches on. "You were pretty drunk," another shrug.

"Ah, shit, shouldn't have done that competition against that woman then," Jarett fell back on the bed and closed his eyes with a small groan. Well, it wasn't the worst morning ever, by a long shot, but he was also not happy; nothing had happened the night before. Either way, he probably wouldn't have remembered much if something had. "I guess I owe you... you." Shit his name.

The man ran a hand through his blonde hair and rolled his eyes at Jarett's direction, of course. "Percy. My name is Percy." he had already slipped on most of his attire while Jarett continued to whine on the bed. Funny seeing someone who called themselves a sellsword act in such a childish way. "Although, it will have to wait until you come back from your little mission,"

"Mission?" Jarett sat up again to look at Percy.

"The Skingrad Company? You kept going on and on about it last night--"

Jarett groaned loudly and fell back on the bed before kicking his feet a bit. "I forgot!" He sat up again to see Percy turning around and walking out of the door. "Wait, how do I find you?" He called out after the man.

"Don't worry, I know when you'll be back," Percy said before closing the door behind him, helmet tucked under his arm.

Jarett took another hour to get ready and eat a quick breakfast of bread and cheese before making his way back to the Company's headquarters. While he had been accepted a while ago, he hadn't really wanted to stay in their sleeping quarters. Sure, he had a bed for him there, but it was rare to see him in it. Jarett was only there during the day and went out at night to mingle with some of the locals. He never really liked staying in one place for long since he had been on the move. He didn't know exactly why. Maybe some of people in the Company didn't really sit well with him. Especially those that liked to brood around or acted shifty, or liked to pretend they were the toughest shits around.

The walk to the headquarters had been pretty quiet. Jarett had bought an apple on his way and was snacking on it as he made his way to his destination. He shot friendly grins towards those in the Company he knew, and a few winks sprinkled here and there to those who didn't like him much. The way they scowled at him always made him grin even more. So when he opened the door to the meeting room, he greeted everyone with a cheery smile.

"Morning everyone, hope I'm not too late. He shot Flavia and Kalon a wink since they looked just about done. "Looks like some of us woke up on the wrong side of the bed," he made his way next to the nervous looking Dunmer and continued to snack on his delicious apple as he waited for the great Quintus to start.

Jeekius had slept in. A potentially disastrous side effect of hunting in the dead of night, it was likely not the smartest thing to do the day before an assignment. But a dose of nighteye and the cover of darkness was a major boon on the hunt, and the lack of sleep was worth it for the venison and the pelts he got to sell in the morning. Unfortunately, morning seemed to slip by him altogether, and he found himself sprinting towards the Skingrad Company headquarters to avoid missing his meeting with Quintus.

Jeekius would forever be jealous of those who could decide how long to sleep each night, he never understood how they managed that. When he made it to the door to Quintus’s office he stopped, composed himself and caught his breath before casually opening the door and slipping into the room. β€œGreetings, I apologise for my lateness, there was a problem in the marketplace.” He lied, flatly. One benefit to being an Argonian was that you could say almost anything in a flat, monotone voice and non-argonians would pretty much just ignore you and continue their business. Humans and Elves may not treat Argonians with much respect in Cyrodiil, but a clever β€œlizard” can use that to his advantage.

Quintus Jannus

It didn't take long for the company to started to enter one by one. Quintus looked up to see Kalon quietly walking in, the altmer stayed towards the back of the room. Quintus didn't really know what to make of him, he didn't know whether he believed his story of just wondering around Tamriel hunting Daedra, but it didn't matter, a powerful mage was hard to come by for a mercenary company so Quintus didn't turn his offer to work for the Skingrad Company down. As Quintus observed Kalon, Flavia barged open the door and came storming in shouting.

"Come in and be quiet Flavia." Quintus replied calmly. "And yes this is good. Very good if truth be told. There's lots of money involved with this one but that can wait until everyone's here." Flavia was the perfect fit for a mercenary company, she was strong, confident and most importantly would do anything to complete the job, regardless of what she had to do and that's what Quintus needed. Cowl, the young Breton was next and was similar to Flavia in the way that he didn't mind getting his hands dirty when it came to completing a job.

A few moments went by and then the newest member of the company walked in nervously. Quintus looked over nodded at Illya and motioned her to come into the room. His son Adrian shuck his head in annoyance at her, he wasn't the only one to voice his displeasure at Quintus for letting her join them. But Quintus saw something in the young girl believing she'd be of great help. An archer who could hit a rabbit double the length of an average archer showed her skill, it also helped she was a natural at restoration being a Breton would help the company. This was her first job the company however and would show whether she could make it as a mercenary or not.

After Illya, came the old Dunmer Neras wearing his usual worn down robes, never needing to wear armour or to carry a weapon because he was a skilled conjurer. The dark elf was around the same age as Quintus but being an elf he looked a lot younger. Neras asked him about the mission, but Quintus just told him he'd wait until everyone's was here. Next came the Reguard with a usual smile on his face, he was the last of the mages who would be joining the mission. Quintus didn't really know much about Jarret's past and Quintus didn't really believe it was his place to ask questions about his life before joining the Skingrad Company, after all it was a mercenary company, there was always people with unsavoury backgrounds but with Jarret, Quintus knew he'd come from a rich family. The Reguard tried to hide covering himself with some old robes but the leather armour underneath it and the two ebony daggers on his hips said otherwise. Not long after came Jeekius the Argonian. He gave his apologies for being late but Quintus just shuck his head. "Don't worry about it Jeekius, you're not the last person to arrive." Jeekius was one of the best archers Quintus had seen before, it made it better that he could do it in the dark. Quintus needed his skill of being able to blend in and not be seen for certain missions when it came to either stealing something or killing someone without being seen.

After five minutes of no one else entering the room, Quintus put down his quill looking annoyed because the few other who he'd requested to turn up hadn't arrived. Quintus looked around at everyone and begun to speak. "So the mission today is simple. Go to Shardrock and get the money that they owe to the count of Skingrad. They've not sent any messages saying why they've not sent their taxes and no one has spoken to anybody from there. I don't know why they're not paying and I don't really care as long as you get the Septims. This is the first job the count as given us and I don't want us to fail. If they don't have any money, take their valuables and if worst comes to worst, take their livestock." Quintus took a small break to breath and have a sip of wine that was on his table. "If there's no questions, I want you all to go and get ready and I want you to set off in the next hour. Adrian and Flavia will be running this mission so I want you to listen to them. You're all dismissed." He motioned them all to the door and took a seat. "Oh and and if you see any of the arseholes who didn't bother to turn up to the brief, let them know the mission. If they don't turn up within the hour leave without them, they can go without getting paid."

Crossing his arms over his chest, Kalon casually leaned against a nearby stone wall as an annoyed looking Imperial woman came barging into the room and began shouting, demanding to know why she had been summoned apparently. He watched as Quintus quickly and efficiently silenced her, before returning his attention to a crisp piece of white parchment sitting on a sizable oak table at the center of the room. A slight smirk appeared on Kalon's masked face. These two had just given away far more information then they had wanted, simply by interacting with each other. The woman, Flavia, had shown herself to be the hotheaded type from her entrance and thus someone who could be easily manipulated with the right provocations. As for Quintus, he had revealed himself to be a no nonsense man who didn't tolerate disobedience of any kind from those in his employ.

Not a very useful piece of information, for the time being anyway, though something he could possibly use later on if he needed to.

Turning his attention back to the other's with him in the room, Kalon carefully observed each new person that entered, taking mental notes of their clothing, gear, and general body posture for future reference. Finding out what made someone tick was much easier than most believed. It was simply a matter of watching how they reacted to thing's when relaxed as opposed to stressed and comparing the two. After the last person entered, an Argonian by the looks of it, Quintus waited for a few more minutes for any other late arrivals before going into the specifics of the jobs itself. Apparently the count of Skingrad had hired them to collect a sum of gold, or an equal amount of livestock and valuables, from the stubborn villagers in one of his fiefs.

An easy job, but not one without risk. If there wasn't a way to take what they needed diplomatically, then they had to resort to force or intimidation, which could be...messy. He really hoped they didn't have to resort to such tactics. That would attract attention, something he did not need more of right now.

Once he was done with his briefing, Quintus dismissed them all, but not before telling them to inform those who had failed to arrive on time of the mission. Nodding affirmatively at Quintus, Kalon went off to get ready, but not before examining each and every room in the place for any sign of those yellow clad figures from earlier. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, Kalon made his preparations and returned to the main room, after grabbing another strip of leather to better secure his pack with, and waited by the buildings main entrance for the other's.

Flavia couldn’t help but smirk. This was the first time she had to get her hands dirty in a long time. Well potentially anyways but the thought of it was enough to get her existed. β€œWhat? Janus couldn’t ask those Fighter’s Guild white hats to do his work for him? Always the mercenary that has to get their hands dirty huh? Well more work for us then.”

She gave her companions for the trip a good look. First he gave Kalon a good look over. The self proclaimed Daedra hunter. She didn’t doubt him though. There were plenty of those Vigilant of Stendarr fanatics roaming the countryside. She even got into a drunk brawl with one or two of them once. Something about him just seemed off.

Then she turned eyes towards the skittish Dunmer next to her. He had some years to him but Mer folk lived for hundreds of years. Still his eyes looked tired and haunted. He wouldn’t be a problem. Not a challenge for the former legionary.

Then her eyes came upon Jarett. β€˜Ah Jarett’ She thought to herself. Something about his innocence always annoyed her. The little comment he made when he entered the room made her blood boil. If she had to spend the entire trip with him, there was no telling what she would do.

Then she darted a look at Illya. The Breton archer. The only other woman who’d be accompanying her on the trip and Flavia wasn’t even sure if she could talk to her. She seemed more of the loner and earnest type. Illya and Flavia shared a look for a split second and Illya quickly broke it.

Flavia then studied Hunts-in-Darkness, the Argonian she’s seen around a few times before. She’s seen him around the tavern’s before. Seems like the cheerful type. Maybe he would make for good conversation along the trip. At least she wouldn’t be dull throughout the trip.

Then came Cowl in her view. The young mage. She never trusted mages outside of the college. Even ones that were in the college was starting to cast suspicion on themselves. However he was a true mercenary. One that had no qualms about actions needed to be done, so long as the money was good. If push came to shove, both Flavia and Cowl would have to do the dirty deed. She knew none of the others were willing to do so.

Finally her eyes came upon the son of Quintus. Her co-commander in this mission. The fresh faced prince of the Skingrad Company. She stood and walked over in front of him. Sizing up Adrian with her eyes. β€œThink you could hold your own boy?” She asked with an intimidating grin on her cold and menacing face. Her competition for the mercenary group going along with her. She knew she was expected to show him the ropes. Flavia wasn’t going to give him a good time just because he was the boss’ son. He didn’t wait for an answer. Instead he looked back at the group. β€œListen up!” Flavia called everybody’s attention. β€œPack light. Only grab your clothes and gear. Whatever food we’re going to eat, we’ll buy or hunt. We wont be gone for more than a few days so do not haul like you’re moving houses. Now go and pack. Be back here in an hour and we’ll set off. No excuses people. Hop to it.” She barked her orders as if legionaries were still standing in fromt of her. They may have been mercenaries but they were better than the ordinary brigand rabble. Flavia wanted discipline from them and she would make sure that they gave it.

Adrian Jannus

As Adrian learned about the upcoming mission, he leant back in his chair and quietly sighed as he listened to his father. In his eyes it was a rather dull job, all they had to do was take money from some farmers. Adrian wanted something a little more exciting, the type of mission were they had to fight countless enemies and were Adrian could show off how much better he was than everyone else with a blade. He looked up at the roof imagining himself cutting through a horde of barbarians. A smile came across his face as his right hand went to the grip of one of his swords that were laid across his lap, he felt the softness of the exquisite leather that wrapped around it. After a few seconds his Father coughed to bring him back to reality, Adrian looked around to see people leaving through the door.

"Was I boring you son?" Quintus asked Adrian calmly, staring right into his eyes.

Adrian let out a little laugh in response and started to speak. "Oh no Father you know you never bore me. I was just thinking of a plan of attack. It's so grateful of the count to give us this..."

Before his continued Quintus cut him off knowing that he was just being sarcastic. "Do not let me down on this Adrian, I've given you enough easy jobs that you've messed up in the past. I don't want another. Now go and get ready with the rest of the men." Quintus motioned him to the door and went back to his work.

Adrian stared at his father for a moment feeling his anger rising inside of him but he bit his tongue and didn't respond to him. Slowly Adrian got up and tied the two short swords to his hips and gave a forced smile to his Father who was too busy with his work to notice his sons annoyance.

When he finally got outside he was faced by the mountain that was Flavia who towered over him by more than half a foot. She looked imposing in her steel armour, she was basically a moving fortress. He looked up at her as she grinned at him and asked him a question trying to intimidate Adrian. When Adrian was about to bite at the question she turned away and started barking commands at everyone. Adrian just stared at her and shuck his head, no wonder she wasn't in the legion anymore, the way she spoke to people would have had to get her into trouble. He'd heard rumours from some of the men and women in the Company that she'd been forced out of the Legion but apart from that he didn't know much more about her. As everyone was moving quickly about trying not to get on the wrong side of Flavia, Adrian walked over to her.

"You really have a way with words don't you Flavia? You seem to be as loved here as you was in the Legion. Let's hope you can at least act a bit nicer to the people of Shardrock. We don't want you ruining the good name of the Company by murdering a load of innocent farmers." Adrian said calmly with a smug look on his face. His hands laid on the pommels of his swords as he looked at her, debating whether he could beat her in a fight. Obviously Adrian thought he could but that was just in Adrian's head.

It seemed simple enough. Too simple? Neras pondered to himself as he rifled through his meager chest of belongings, dismaying at the empty bottle he found. If only he had a spell to summon wine...As a rule he was used to travelling light and took only basic travel provisions, few spare spell-scrolls and an apple for the journey. At the bottom of his chest he unclasped a small box and took out a quill from inside. Such a simple thing but he'd gone through a lifetime of trouble to get hold of it. Useful if used creatively, it was a simple mission? He pocketed the quill and headed out to the courtyard to join the rest.

As he stepped out Neras almost bumped into Kalon, a mage who's paranoia seemed almost to rival his own.

"Ah, sorry." Neras muttered apologetically, looking the man up and down as he did. He still didn't have a read on this one. "So, somewhere a group of villagers is out there totally unaware that Flavia is about to descend on them." He said wistfully. "Can't help but wonder why she's no longer a legionary?"

Kalon slowly turned round to look at the person that had almost plowed into him, doing his best not to send whoever it was flying backwards with an offensive spell, and found that it was a Dunmer man who looked to be in his sixties. Letting out a slight scoff at his apology, and incompetence in general, Kalon stepped away from the dark elf and stood near the left side of the buildings main entrance, just under the edge of the roof and slightly behind a weathered post to which one would tie a horses reigns. That way he was at least somewhat sheltered from any potential attacks coming from the surrounding woods by the structure itself, be they magical or physical, and partially hidden from view as well. Last thing he needed was for members of the order to find him now. It was far too soon in his preplanned timeline for that to happen. He needed at least another couple of weeks or so in order to locate the knowledge he was after, and even then he still had to perform the ritual itself...

Kalon shook his head slightly and cut off that line of thought. He had planned this for years. Everything would fall into place in due time. Until then he just had to survive and avoid being found.

Letting out a barely audible sigh, Kalon crossed his arms and shifted his attention back to the Dunmer from earlier, deciding to strike up a conversation with the man by offering his own "thoughts" on Flavia's ex-legionary status. Perhaps he could loosen the elf up with some friendly chatter and get him to reveal something about himself or his past that could be used as a means of blackmail later on.

"I don't know." He said emotionlessly. "But if I had to guess, I'd say it had something to do with her...attitude."

Zazar Palus V

The Argonian came rushing into the room shutting the door quite hard, "Zazar apologizes, The driver that brought me here was quite incompetent" He spoke in a smooth hiss as he walked over taking a seat on of the many chairs. "What did Zazar miss?" He then asked Adrian whom he thought was the person filling everyone in onto the next mission. His hands placed on his lap just and would listen to everyone if he was not filled in what was going on.

Zazar was looking around the room of the people he would be working with, He wondered what they were liked and if he would like them. He hoped so but knowing that he was apart of a merc group that their would be some unsavory people in the group. However he was hoping he could make some friends while doing his job protecting people.

Adrian Jannus

As Adrian watched Flavia to see how she would react to his bait, the conversation was cut short when one of the new members of the group came barging into the room. An Argonian named Zazar. Whilst he was giving reasons as to why he was late, Adrian just frowned at him. When the Argonian finished speaking Adrian sighed and said, "Go to a certain farm, and get the septims that they owe to the count. Just a standard job really, I can't see much going wrong unless Flavia decides to unleash the fury of the Gods on them if they're not exactly forthcoming with what they owe." A little smile came over Adrian as he looked at Flavia hoping she'd retaliate as he looked at her from the corner of his eyes. A second later Adrian looked back to Zazar and asked him, "So do you have any other questions because we're about to set off?"

Zazar Palus V

The lizard man was nervous when Adrian was giving him a frown, Feeling like he had step on the man's dog. "Zazar has a few questions, Like is the person or persons armed? Is the person or persons armed in magical knowledge?" He wanted to know what he and the others were dealing with. He didn't want to run into a pissed off mage that doesn't want to pay, Although he thought of himself as a skilled mage. He was not the most amazing mage in Cyrodill.

"Do you know of the location of this farm? And is the person difficult to speak with?" He spoke not wanting to start a fight but if it would come to it then he would fight.

Clanette cursed in the exact ways she had been told not to by the faith as she hurried down the path to reach the meeting point. Stendarr have mercy on me for my punctuality! She fumed, finally reaching the courtyard of the Skingrad Company Headquarters; yes! This was the place. She took a moment in the clearing, straightening her appearance and trying to look as stoic as possible. She'd worked up quite a sweat, unused to the warmer southern climes so she cast a quick cantrip to refresh herself and splashed some rosewater across her neck to give herself a boost. Divines curse her, but if she was going to be late she would make sure she wasn't going to be late and in a shambles.

She shuffled in just as the briefing was ending, the Breton noted. Too many eyes flicked her way for Clanette to be comfortable, but there was nothing to be done now. While a robed Argonian asked questions she adjusted her amulet of Stendarr to be as prominent as she could make it. It was her symbol of office, and her pass into this rag-tag crew.

An Imperial who looked to be in relative charge spoke a name that was familiar to Clanette. Flavia, the imperial across the room, was the exact description of the so called 'Legion's Demon'. If this was the same one that came to mind than this was the kind of person Clanette had been sent to stop, or at least temper. This Flavia had stepped on more than a few toes during her time in office, and now that she was away from the legion there was no doubt in Clanette's mind she would get worse. As a vigilant of Stendarr, Clanette gave the Imperial soldier a nod from across the room, hoping to get off on a good foot.

Tulvar

The heavy footfalls of the Nord in plate signaled his approach before he even touched the door. He was on the larger side, even for a Nord, and had to turn just slightly to fit his massive shoulders through the doorway. He sported an impressive beard of a shade just darker than honey and adorned by a few iron beads. Strapped to his back was a weighty battle axe and as if that wasn't enough, he carried a sword on his hip. He glanced around at the group assembled and made no attempt to hide the disdain in his eyes as they passed over the Dunmer. To Flavia, the obvious leader of the party, he nodded respectfully.

"Apologies," he said, with a voice low and rumbling like far off thunder, "I took a wrong turn."

Flavia held herself like a true warrior and he had no doubt she would be a great ally. The others gave him pause, however. An assortment of soft archers, softer mages, and diplomats who appeared softer still. It seemed they had bucket of milksops with two ingots. Either their cuts would grow or the company would hire actual warriors rather than stick shakers and game hunters playing mercenary; both outcomes suited him just fine.

Zazar Palus V

Zazar while waiting for his questions to be answer he could not help but notice people like himself who came late to the meeting, Making a visible look of disgust when the Nord came into the room. He dislikes Nords because of some shady business that had happen to him a few months ago. Looking over at the Imperial giving him a nod and a sharp tooth filled smile, He was going to have to get to know the Imperial better so he could get some benefits.

Looking over at the Breton and the amulet she had around her neck, Almost memorized by it speaking up for a moment to address her. "Zazar is interested in your amulet, What is it?" He asked her wanting to know more about the shiny jewelry. He wondered if it could have some sort of magical ability.
