Something about Vlad being so close to Adamaris sparked some feeling deep inside, though John couldnt figure out what they meant. He ended up assuming it was just protective nature towards the boss

Adamaris tried to move her leg away but it was still chained and she couldn't. "Maybe you can let J-the guard choose." She said with a forced smile. "I mean you could just kill me and get it over with, I'm sure your kind enough to do that." She knew his mind was twisted enough. "just please don't punish the man that was talking to me, I forced him to I threatened him." She kept her voice calm and cold looking straight into Vlad's eyes.

"We both know I am not skilled at fighting in wolf form." She frowned at the both of them, struggling against Vlad. "Vlad please don't make me." She begged.
