Lin played a beautiful dulcimer melody as the party settled into the tavern, Ardour discovering some interesting rumours about their future delve. As Lauk pondered the dangerous nature of cheese goods, Atanese found and escorted the partie's benefactor Esvelle to the table. It was Aurix who sussed out her intentions, while Jhimas soothed her worries and Ardour convinced her to spill the beans. Satisfied, Esvelle told the party a little about her familie's sordid history in dirty dealings. She relayed how her brother must be stopped from setting up a Slave Ring down in the mysterious town of Skullport within the dungeon.
It is time to enter the Dungeon. A few members splinter off as new companions join the party. In the chaos, Achtend the draft horse is sent down the pulley first. Lauk follows shortly after and casts Continual Flame on his staff. All is quiet in the dungeon. Aurix and Ardour are next into the fray. It isn't until Vodalus the corrupt cleric makes a quick escape down into Undermountain that all hell breaks lose. Escaping from those who wish to apprehend him, he fails to grab the rope, and plummets to certain death, only to land with minimal injuries on Achtend, who then panics and charges deeper into the dungeon. Aurix manages to calm her horse before Aurix can stun it, though Lauk has began to wind the beast up again. Markus Flintbrook the mercenary looks on, deciding to introduce himself to the very professional party.
The Tavern owner Durnan is drumming up the crowds and has asked how the Party wishes to be known. All eyes are on the group, and so now is a good time to make a lasting impression. Aurix brings her mighty horse Achthend to the edge of the well to join them in the depths below.
