Small update:
I've got the first 4 Events sketched out now, which should be enough to start on.
I've got a Character Sheet model that I will be using.
I've got my own character's CS done.
I still need to complete the overarching plotline, an intro post to set the tone, come up with an official title for the game and a cohesive way to paint the premise of this project to you all. I know most of you get what I'm aiming for, but I still want to put it into words for those who aren't as familiar with the RDR franchise.
I'm hoping to have all of that accomplished by the end of next weekend (the weekends are my main writing times).
I have decided that, while we reserve the right to change a few things here and there, this will be actually taking place directly in the world of Red Dead Redemption. That basically means I'm ripping off the map and some of the lore. Doing this will save me a ton of time, allowing me to take advantage of a template rather than reinventing the wheel. This will all take place just prior to Red Dead Redemption 2 (which is actually a prequel to Red Dead Redemption 1). RDR2 was set in 1899, RDR1 was set in 1911. Our setting will be 1897. While Dutch and the gang from Red Dead Redemption 2 would've been around during this time, if we ever cross paths, it will just be a quick cameo encounter if at all.
I do want to reiterate that I plan on composing this in such a way that prior Red Dead knowledge is not a requirement. Those familiar with the games will appreciate the easter eggs a little more, but my hope is that this is crafted in such a way that anyone can find enjoyment and entertainment from it.
Anyway, there ya go! Will either give you another update next weekend or I'll just open the thread!
