I am watching NOS4A2 at the moment. Too bad they producers didn't do their research. This is supposed to be Haverhill, Massachusetts. The accents are decent, but the first scene involving law enforcement officers revealed Sheriff's deputies investigating a child abduction. That might be true in Colorado, California or Texas, but hell NO! Not in Massashusetts. Sheriff's deputies are nothing more than Correctional Officers in the State Houses of Correction. They might serve summonses, but they do not investigate crimes or conduct police patrols. Town/city cops and State Police do that. I know, not a big deal, but it pissed me off.

@Gunther
TBF, the Bee movie made a similar mistake with Superior/Supreme court word-ology since the Writers are of California where there courts have funny non-standard names for some reason and they just took it for granted that the legal/law-enforcement system in the rest of America mirror's their own.

It's like if an indie movie comes out of Wisconsin/Illinois and they use words like "bubbler" in a school convo between 7 year olds.
(Bubbler is a brand-name... of the faucet/tap itself, as it sometimes was just that affixed to a ground-well hand-pump [no basin])
-You can technically fix a bubbler to the end of a garden-hose and still call it a bubbler, but not a drinking-fountain.

Although what irks me is if they do a scene that's supposed to be set in Wisonsin and anyone says "water fountain".

Please keep your pitchforks away since well... I'm not a fan of dogs. I hate the hair they shed, how needy they are and the fact they have to be walked on a regular basis. They bark over any silly thing and it's terribly annoying. Oh, and if they don't make it out in time they'll leave a mess anywhere.

Cats are assholes, but at least they aren't as high maintenance.

It is news to none that while I am not fond of dogs, merely tolerating their existence, I see why people are so enamored with them. There are few things with such naive, childlike optimism and energy as the dog, and fewer things yet that has no other purpose in life but to serve man. While I regard this as a massive and disappointing departure from their ancestor in the wolf, such a creature I see why people fawn over; humans cannot help but bond with such a thing. I am still of the opinion that whatever made the wolf respectable was lost in that progression to what is the dog.

Wow, Regan's bark is on point!

Either way, I don't think I'll ever get another pet. My hedgehog's death due to a respiratory infection was a little too heartbreaking for me.

I have four pet humans. Unfortunately, I fear that when they mature enough they will leave me. That will make me sad. Maybe they will come home for a visit?...on occasion?

When I was married, it took me some time to realize I'd gained a husband and a child, but it happens to the majority of us.

My wife and I have conceived ten children; five miscarriages and five live births. We have six angels in heaven, including one who lived for 57 minutes.

I can't imagine the heartbreak, although you have various sweet angels watching over you.

I was told by my OBGYN that I have a bicornuate uterus, or basically a heart-shaped womb. I'm facing increased risk of miscarriage, premature delivery, etc. I have to see him before I start trying to have children, which I'm looking to do in the next year or two.

Despite my obvious masculine demeanor, I actually am quite sensitive and react harshly to criticism, especially when it's done in an insulting manner.

I love fresh cheese. Yet I am not a fan of the bitter quality that most high end cheeses pride themselves on. So I am like a cheese lover who could never be a real cheese snob in a way.

When perusing one of my philosophical texts on the nature of environmental theory, I happened upon the quote of, "Or suppose we were committed to a world in which total suffering was minimized. Might such a future world contain no human beings?" Only to realize part of why the text spoke so well to me is that it focuses on the concept of minimizing harm, even if it comes at the expense of human beings themselves. It has made me reconsider that perhaps I am not lacking in compassion but have an overabundance of compassion that leads me to take up stances that are, seemingly, those least compassionate at all. But what is then the idea of minimizing suffering and harm? Interesting questions and it pleases me to know I am not the only one who battles with this question.
