P.S. - You do not need ANY experience with the Xenoblade Chronicles series, whether it's other titles, or specifically Chronicles X. This may change as the RP progresses and gets deeper into the story. However the game itself starts you the player off just as clueless as your character is about this new world, the situation humanity is in, and so on. So it would make perfect sense that you can learn everything within the RP as your character does.
Earth, is gone. Burned away in the fire of war from the clash of two alien empires so powerful, that Humanity couldn't even comprehend their technology. A ship the size of the moon, weapons like swords that could destroy entire cities and ruin the atmosphere of the planet with a single swing. Humanity had no choice, this was not a conflict they were ready for. All the movies, games and stories about Humanity defending Earth from aliens... it wasn't to be. The Governments of the world made the difficult decision to begin construction on massive colony ships, known as Arks. These ships will carry Humanity from their home, into the stars to find a new one. To escape this clash of Gods, so that Humanity can survive.
When the war comes, most of the Arks are shot down, but a few make it past the conflict, and seem free to sail the stars. One such ship, was named the White Whale. For two years this ship floated through space, looking, searching for a new home. After so long, one of the warring alien factions caught up with them. Nobody understood why they were so determined to see humanity destroyed, but the White Whale stood no chance against the fleet that found it. It fell to a nearby planet, caught in its gravity. Through the sky, the ship broke apart in flames, but managed to release the large Habitat Module that it was carrying. While nobody would claim it was a soft landing, the Habitat touched down on the shores of one of the planet's continents. It was safe, for now, and there was no sign of the enemy that had pursued them. They must have thought them killed in the crash...
Two months have passed since the White Whale crash landed, and since then the survivors have made what they can of what they have. The Habitat Module has been turned into a proper city, known as New Los Angelas, designed after the city from Earth it takes the name from. They soon found that the indigenous lifeforms of the planet were very dangerous, unlike anything from Earth. Massive beasts roam the land and must be kept in check if Humanity is to make a home here.
There is no doubt, Humanity has a struggle ahead of them. The Habitat Module was released from the ship, and many lifepods carried the first colonists to the surface. However, many, many more lifepods are surely still out there, waiting for someone to find them. But most importantly, the main structure of the White Whale, the Lifehold, is missing. The Lifehold is what holds the rest of the people who were on board the ship, those who weren't ejected in life pods. Worse yet, the Lifehold has a limited power supply, and if it runs out of power, humanities hope for survival will be lost.
Welcome to BLADE, or Builders of the Legacy After the Destruction of Earth. This is the closest thing the remnant of Humanity has to a Military. But members of BLADE aren't just a bunch of muscleheads toting guns around. At least not all of them. BLADE is any and all who have the skills necessary to see Humanity through the crisis of this new world. Scientists, Engineers, and yes, Soldiers, willing to put their lives on the line for Humanity's sake.
Few things before I get to the character sheet. Please fill out all parts of the character sheet. Do not add in your own parts to it. I would prefer to keep the sheets uniform and all the same as far as content. Remember that most of the decisions made about your character as far as Class and Division only affect how you RP the character. Class only dictates your character's combat style, and of course can be changed if you feel like it. Likewise your Division only affects your character's behavior and their priorities. As a squad, all characters will follow the same missions. This means that if you are an Interceptor which typically don't seek out monsters to hunt, you will still do so if your team is given a mission for it. The point is, you aren't limited by your decisions, it is mostly just for your own sake as to how you play the character.
Name:
Age:
Class: (See the class section below.)
Division: (See the Division section below)
Armor Type: (Light, Medium, or Heavy. This mostly affects how your character is played.)
Image Reference: (Image references are preferred, but if it's against your religion then a detailed description is fine.)
Description: (Specifically if anything about your character is different from the image provided, as well as any details such as why they joined BLADE in the first place.)
History: (Their History from Earth. Keep in that, regardless of the characters in the game tending to have asian names, the White Whale was specifically an American ship. Regardless of your character's ethnicity, anyone on board the White Whale would be American. So having a story that your character is from Germany or Japan or something would be a bit odd. Otherwise just about any backstory you want is fine, from boring janitor at the local McDonalds to US Navy Seal.)
Game Knowledge: (Simple yes or no. Means have you played the game all the way through and you know the story.)
To begin with, only level 2 classes will be available. As far as IC goes, your class decides what equipment you are authorized to taken with you, store in the baracks, so on and so forth. Abilities aren't really a thing, but for example, only higher level Blades are authorized to purchase and operate Psycho Launchers. I have also added a bit of headcanon to the lot, such as that Psycholaunchers are controlled with someone's mind, and a Psycorruptor has basically psionic capabilities. So keep that in mind if you intend to go down the Enforcer path, that your character will have some pretty messy things going on in their head. I won't worry about Level 4 classes for now as they are just upgraded versions of the classes before them.
Level 2 Classes
Striker
- The Striker is authorized to purchase and use assault rifles, and longswords.
Commando
- The Commando is authorized to purchase and use Dual Guns, and Dual Swords.
Enforcer
- The Enforcer is authorized to purchase and use Rayguns, and Combat Knives.
Level 3 Classes
Samurai Gunner
- The Samurai Gunner is authorized to purchase and use advanced Assault Rifles and Longswords. They are trained far more in the use of these weapons than most, allowing them to master their weapons. Requires Striker Experience.
Shield Trooper
- The Shield Trooper is authorized to purchase and use Heavy, Rapid Firing Guns, and Shields. Shield Troopers are typically much stronger and hardier than most people, allowing them to withstand the punishment that the indigens of Mira can dish out. Requires Striker Experience.
Winged Viper
-The Winged Viper is authorized to purchase and use advaned Dual Guns and Dual Swords. They are trained to be much faster and more agile than other members of BLADE. Requires Commando Experience.
Partisan Eagle
- The Partisan Eagle is authorized to purchase and use Sniper Rifles, and Javelins. They of course require a sharp eye and a steady hand. Not everyone can wield the powerful weapons they are in command of. Requires Commando Experience.
Psycorruptor
- The Psycorruptor is authorized to use advanced Rayguns and Knives. Psycorruptors are a highly advanced form of soldier, with strange, new abilities. They can manipulate their enemies with their mind, slowing them, weakening them, or even calming them and keeping them from being hostile altogether. This however comes with some side effects to the Psycorruptor's mental state. Requires Enforcer Experience.
Blast Fencer
- The Blast Fencer is authorized to purchase and use Psycho Launchers and Photon Sabers. Only those capable of mastering the most advanced weaponry Humanity has at its disposal can hope to become a Blast Fencer. Whether it's swinging their Photon Saber with extreme speed and agility, or firing off their Psycho Launchers using their minds, they are a force to be reckoned with. Requires Enforcer Experience.
When you join BLADE, you are given a choice between 8 Divisions, but you only need to worry about 5 of them. Pay attention, because your Division will decide what sort of missions come your way, and what your focus will be on Mira.
Harriers
- The Harriers are in charge of defeating dangerous monsters. Vicinity to NLA doesn't necessary matter. If there is a creature that could at any point become a threat to Humanity, Harriers are the ones dispatched to take them out.
Interceptors
- Unlike Harriers, Interceptors don't necessarily seek out monsters to fight. Interceptor's focus is on monsters that are actively a threat to NLA, most often due to their proximity. When a threat is actively moving towards the cities, Interceptors, surprise, will go and intercept the threat before it becomes a danger to the city.
Pathfinders
- The job of the Pathfinders is to scout the land of Mira, map it out, and install Data Probes to help with intel collection across the planet. If something goes wrong with a Data Probe, and the network is shut down, the Pathfinders are sent to fix the problem. Likewise, if there's an area that hasn't been covered yet by FrontierNav, Pathfinders are the ones given the mission to go install Probes to get the area mapped.
Prospectors
- Prospectors, like other Divisions, are exactly what they sound like. They're in charge of finding and mapping out material locations for collection. Primarily, Prospectors tend to focus on mineral collection, however there isn't really a material that doesn't fall into their job description when it comes to hunting things down.
Reclaimers
- While every single member of BLADE's top priority is finding the Lifehold, Reclaimers are the first ones on call when discoveries are made. Of course it's not just the Lifehold they are after, but anything Humanity has lost. Anything from broken down vehicles, to lost equipment, and even just debris from the White Whale. All of it, is up to the Reclaimers to... well, reclaim.
Q&A
Q: When does this RP take place? A: Same place the game does. 2 months after the crash landing of the White Whale, everything is pretty fresh, and most of the things that are going to happen in Humanity's struggle on Mira basically start here.
Q: Will we be following the same exact story as the game? A: Yes, and no. The RP will follow the events of the game, however it will focus on our own character's involvement in it. Elma's team is out there doing their thing, our character's play different roles in it all. So things like say, specifically going out to help Lao's team install a Data Probe in Oblivia... they won't be doing that. But when a part of the Lifehold is found, you better bet our team will be headed out there.
Q: Will we have Skells? A: Not right away. Skells in this RP will be treated very similar to the game, in that it is rather difficulty, and a lengthy journey to not only obtaining your license for one, but obtaining a Skell itself in the first place.
Q: How will armor and other equipment be treated. A: Everyone will start with just a basic set of gear. As the RP progresses, more gear will become available, and you can simply ask if your character is wealthy enough to upgrade their gear or not.
Q: How will Arms Manufactures Work A: Progress through the story will see new Arms Manufacturers popping up. At the start, the only Manufacturer will be Sakuraba Industries. However, as the players install data probes, collect resources, and collect materials, Grenada Galactic Group and Meredith & Co. will pop up. So on, and so forth.
randomly logged in to a nice surprise. how will exploring in this rp go?
We'll follow the same path as the game, starting with Primordia. It's mostly assumed that our characters have seen plenty of Primordia by now, unless you are playing a character that was either only very recently rescued, very recently joined BLADE, or has only recently decided it's time to leave the city.
So we'll just have a fairly natural progression of working our ways through the zones, where everything Beyond Primordia is mostly a mystery, although other teams at the start of the RP are working on mapping Noctilum. They have however, little to no information on Oblivia, Sylvalum, or Cauldros.
Description: To a thrill-seeker, staying cooped up in NLA was...less than appealing, to say the least. Evie was the kind of person that as soon as their lifepod was recovered, nothing could keep them from joining up with BLADE. Scaling Sickle Rock Rise has been the first step of many for the adventurous Pathfinder, and she promises not to stop until everything taller than a Millesaur has been scaled by her own two hands. Her current hobby is sketching and taking notes on the various indigenous life forms of Mira, hoping to publish her own book after the Lifehold is recovered. Her working title is: "Evie's Extravagent Encylopedia of-", as she has yet to find another E word that she likes to slap onto the end.
History: Evie Harrison; Ecologist, self-proclaimed "Explorer Extraordinaire," and now, one of BLADE's most promising Pathfinder recruits. An ecologist by trade, her expertise in researching the relationship of organisms, as well as their interactions with humanity are what drives her to push further into the unexplored wilds of Planet Mira. Whether it be to plant data probes, or to repair damaged ones, Evie is willing to truck through anything this planet has to throw at her, all just see what it actually DOES have to throw at her. Though some in BLADE questioned a scientist becoming a soldier, she has demonstrated adequate combat capabilities, and knows when to pick her fights or pack up and flee.

Lemme know if anything is out of place, or if it needs changing.
