Shiroyama High School.

A place for students to learn, a place for them to grow into adulthood, to make friends, to get to know one another. Like any high school, Shiroyama was built to be a place of learning and growth for all who attend. Naturally, the students who go there are subject to a wide variety of new experiences. Their high school lives will be filled with knowledge, growth, and battle.

Especially battle.

Shiroyama High School is, of course, no simple high school. It is among one of Japan's fourteen Battle Schools, a place of learning and a place of combat rolled into one. Students are not only tasked with learning their daily lessons, they are also tasked with combating one another. Ever since the newest student council president took over, however, things have become especially intense. In order to encourage what she believed was a slacking student body, she introduced a variety of radical changes to the school's combat programs.

One of these changes introducing a system of rewards for students and clubs to defeat one another, as well as a chain of "rankings". The higher level a student was to become, the more benefits they and their club began to receive. At the same time, however, the rewards for defeating such a powerful student grew as well. This created an even more competitive climate in Shiroyama High School. The highest of ranks, of course, are those who stand by the side of the Student Council President herself.

Naturally, she ensured she had the full cooperation of the faculty in order to carry out these massive changes.

But is this all there is to it? Or is there something more to the battlefield that the daily lives of Shiroyama's students has become?

Shiroyama is a large, multi-level school building with an enormous campus, allowing for both a large amount of freedom of movement on the school grounds as well as a variety of different battlefields. All students are provided with a tablet and observation device included in their uniform which automatically adds any wins, advancements in ranks, and battle points to their profile, or the profile of their clubs.

Here's a rundown of Shiroyama's current battle system:

  • Battle Points: One of the most important aspects of the current battle system, Battle Points are a currency awarded to the winning combatant, depending on how high-ranking their opponent was. These points can be used for a variety of different purposes, such as purchasing equipment or funding improvements to a club's room. These Battle Points, also known as BP, are the driving force behind most combat at Shiroyama High School.
  • Student Rank: Ranging from zero to fifty, the Student Rank is a demonstration of a Student's power. The higher the rank, the more battle points they have accumulated by this point, and the more privileges they have obtained. A similar ranking system is also applied to clubs, the club rank an aggregate of the club members. The only Rank Fifty student in Shiroyama is the high school's Unbreakable Student Council President, Yukimura Atsuko. The next highest ranking students are all members of the student council as well.
  • Student Database: Accessible via the tablets provided to all students of Shiroyama High School, the Student Database records all student profiles and can be used to quickly look up the rank and rewards provided by an opponent.
  • Club Battle: Two or more clubs may participate in battle with one another for a very large amount of BP. However, this action must be overseen by a Student Council member and may not occur indoors, in order to avoid severe collateral damage.

As for how students conduct battle, in this world all humans are possessed of a Mana Core, a source of powerful energy deep inside their bodies. Various devices have been constructed across history to tap into these Mana Cores, and as a result a wide variety of weaponry using mana has become created.

In addition, many of Shiroyama's students may possess Inherent Engine Skills, or IE Skills. IE Skills utilize the mana core as an engine to produce a usually-passive effect, such as a form of second sight or other similar abilites. Very rarely are they active combat skills, but they can be used to aid in battle.

Weapons and devices that utilize the wielder's mana core are known as Active Engine Devices, or AE Devices. These Actively siphon energy from the user's mana core in order to produce a wide variety of feats, such as powerful attacks and barriers. An AE Device can be anything from a weapon to something worn on the body.

Now, fight for you ascendance, Students of Shiroyama High School!

So, this is an idea @RoleplayerRoxas and I cooked up recently. It just sounded too fun not to try out. ^^;

Players will naturally play as students, and teachers, of Shiroyama High School. These students have been pitted against one another to earn points for themselves and their clubs, to advance their rank and become top in the school. Some students may even aspire to defeat the Student Council President herself.

Of course, that might not be all there is to it. And there's a new transfer student stirring things up.

@RoleplayerRoxas will be my co-GM, helping me handle the plot and NPCs, as well as signups since I am stretching myself a bit thin. ^^;

I may allow players to control student council members, but for now I'm having them as NPCs unless someone proves I can trust them with some of the most powerful starting characters in the RP. ^^;

@VitaVitaAR

I don't suppose you could sneak someone new into this RP?

If you can, I was wondering if I could play a Modern day "witch" or "shaman"

Basically, his/her IE would be a their Familiar (I'm thinking a Ferret that is black with gray blotches)and their AE would call on spirits to aid him/her in tasks and battle. This AE would either give the spirit some sort of form or allow them to possess him/her. While this method would technically give him/her a rather wide range of possible abilities, he/her would have to maintain a constant relationship with the spirits themselves.

For accuracy with the spirits, I will be using actual spirits from mythologies and belief systems from around the world. As for how he/she would maintain a relationship I will be using a mixture of ancient and modern practices. If I write about a spirit or a practice that you are iffy about, I will send you all the information I have on it and explain why I wrote it in the manner that I did.

I plan on him/her only having access to 3 spirits at the beginning, and this number may diminish or grow depending on his/her actions and other happenings within the RP as according to the natures of the spirits themselves.

If this is something you're alright with, then I would absolutely love to finish this character design, just let me know!

-Mikael

PS. Spirits, in the context that I am using the word in, refers to any and all supernatural entities.
