Personality: Joben is the perfect example of why growing too swiftly can be detrimental for a young man. Joben is a manipulator who brings an air of security to those that happen to fall into his social honey-trap. This deceptive nature and his relatively deep ideals about the world and his 'would-be peers'have left Joben confident and fastened in his narcissistic ways. Joben feels as if every man should ruthlessly fight for their ideals and their future and believes that to do that a degree of martial, intellectual and political mastery is required. While he firmly grasps the formula for the maintenance of such things, his attraction to the unruly and carnal side of life leaves him to constantly maintain the delicate balance between life as a Model Student and a Corrupt Badboy.
While Joben does well in these areas, it has left him emotionally stretched and somewhat distanced from his peers. While this distance does not deprive Joben of life's thrill and the ability to enjoy the time he spends with others, he feels as if he lives in a world separate from them where he's destined to lead a life that could be considered 'greater' or more 'impactful' to the world. This has led Joben through what he considers to be an endless struggle against coincidence, karma and his idea of fate. The culmination of these factors and the experiences he has gone through to rest with them has left him very grounded in reality due to his lack of expectations from the spiritual side of things.
In this reality of his, Joben considers himself a king. He feels that is his namesake as his full name is translated and combined to mean Clean King Of Stone. While he does hold no qualms about the manipulation of his peers and the world around him, he holds a subtle system of honor where he strives to deftly avoid any notion of his actions or accomplishments being un-true. This harsh, free-flowing and calculated nature along with his penchant for violence towards the unruly individuals of Aomori Gakuen has gained him the title of Rooftop Demon. It's said that to interrupt the free time he spends atop the school's roof is worse than trying to combat a demon. These various factors have also left him popular with both the girls and boys of Aomori Gakuen despite his skin color and many other factors that leave him relatively out of place at a glance.

As a result, he has developed a great fear of wildfires, hurricanes and tornadoes. It can be assumed that some factor of his early childhood assisted in the development of this great fear.

- Blackbelt Judoka(2nd Dan)- He's infatuated with Judo's redirection of momentum, and has trained in the sport since the age of ten.
- History Buff- He is well versed with information regarding the history of Jitsuryoku-jima, Japan, The Americas and Eurasia.
- Amateur Mixologist- His interest in recreational drugs and incense has recently culminated into a thirst for knowledge regarding the crafting of various different drugs and incense. He can make basic incense sticks and cones, aswell as mix drinks.
- Amateur Herbalist- While Joben isn't exactly infatuated with the various herbs and plant life around Jitsuryoku-jima, his love of Aromatherapy has led him to learn the recognition and understanding of common plants, roots and herbs that grow around japan, namely on Jitsuryoku-jima.
Equipment: Cigarettes- Joben is a smoker. For those that know, it is seemingly his only vice.
Torch-Flame Cigarette Lighter- Joben carries the lighter around constantly as he needs it to light his incense and of course, his cigarettes. He picked the torch jet style of lighter so that he wouldn't have to buy lighters and because it's quicker to light.
Old Army Knife- Joben carries this army knife very closely as it was a gift from his great friend and secret Mentor Tachibana, Masahiro. He holds it as a constant reminder of the man's subtle yet vast wisdom for the world. That said, it doesn't see much of any use in Joben's possession.

Your Story Thus Far: Joben is an example of a youth that grew too soon. Born in the town of Tsukuba, Ibaraki, he lived with his two happily married parents until the age of seven when a tragic tornado struck, destroying his home and resulting in the death of his mother who was the sole fatality of the incident. Mortified and filled with a resent for the world, he struggled to recover from the tragic event until his father's decision to move to the island of Jitsuryoku-jima, Japan gave him a new hope of avoiding a fate similar to his mother. While his youth was great due to the great financial success of his father and mother up until that point, his father's efforts to sustain the family's excessive finances left them distant, and the distance only managed to grow with the move to Jitsuryoku-jina. This partial lack of a dedicated parental figure curbed Joben's development towards violence against the other children his age. It was during these harsh three years that he came into contact with the various gangs of Jitsuryoku-jima, as they sought his tenacity and thirst for violence. Through the short draw of gang activity, he met Sawaya, Goro who was also noted for his particular traits. While they managed to bud heads very often, an honesty formed between them despite the vast differences they held. Their constant clashing led to a deep understanding of each other's circumstances. All the while, Joben's tenacity had led to a growing connection with Abe, Kou who had become his 'first love'. And while he seemed to fit into the delinquent life perfectly, a simple turn of events saved Joben from a life of darkness.
Joben's knack for violence was eventually sustained and redirected by a suggestion from a mysterious man to Joben's father; it was the suggestion to put the young Joben into a junior martial arts program. It was this simple conversation between the two men that changed the path of Joben's life for the better. While the discipline Joben gained from his practice of Judo was great, his three years as a violent child had exposed him to various information and situations that are inappropriate for a child, let alone one of that age. While the various events and view of street life hadn't scarred him, the exposure to those lifestyles left an impression on Joben that he eventually came to understand by the age of fourteen in junior high where he properly met the 'mysterious man' that hadd influenced his life. That man was Tachibana, Masahiro who saw Joben's path far before Joben realized it existed. Eventually, the man became something of a brotherly figure to Joben, occasionally reminding him of his potential and his blessings whenever the throes of street life would begin to call to him. It was in that same year that Masahiro taught Joben how to drive and many ways to find out more about himself through meditation and other hobbies like reading and Aromatherapy.
It was Masahiro's influence that led Joben to form a more complete picture of life on Jitsuryoku-jima. This idea and the advantages of coming from a rich household led to Joben's pride and the sure nature of his being, giving him the edge he needed to explore the fullness of his teenaged life until recently where his success as a son, student and name around Jitsuryoku-jima began to get the better of him, leading to his growing interest in drugs, sex, politics and a ruthless quest for financial success. While he seemed to function well despite all of his newer vices, it caused some subtly growing distance between him and his peers as they came with the 'realization' that he was above them in status. This slight shift in his behavior has brought trouble and conflict into Joben's life, though he feels as though it's nothing that he cannot handle.
