Max, who has been asleep the entire time, finally rouses from where she had collapsed on the armchair. She hears Devon and Winter murmuring and follows the sound. When she turns the corner, she catches a glimpse of Arthur and stops dead in her tracks.

Max stares at Arthur for several seconds, then turns and storms away, pushing past Artimes and Devon. The front door slams behind her as she leaves, frame shuddering from the force. Each step she takes down the sidewalk boils the cement, leaving slight indents where she walks.

"I cant....She cant...." she said throw sobbing. She looks at Max when she leaves and then shakes her head. Tears are streaming down her cheeks.
