@Sigma Tough tossup between an AI Buracracy or a Buggy Agricultural people, but considering we have mostly only had Fleshies make up the demographics (except for the Cybe for Raygon), I'll probably go with AI.
@Sigma I am in the process of writing up my CS sheet/Nation sheet at the moment. Is it alright if I can lay claim to a small region of planets, or will I need to have my sheet approved first, before choosing a location?
1: do nations have space faring capability 2: What is the limit for controlling systems/planets/moons starting out? 3: what tech is commonly used? Do we have halo human level tech or we firing big ole lasers and creating black holes within planets?
1. Yes, we are space faring. 2. Max number of systems we can control is seven, there's no limit on whats in those systems. That is entirely up to you. 3. A bit of a mix really. Although making blackholes and other really super destructive stuff is certainly off limits.
Nation Sheet Nation Name/Flag: Free Star Commonwealth Government Type: The Free Star Commonwealth is a federal republic divided into three branches: the executive, legislative, and judiciary branches. The executive branch is headed by the President, who is the commander-in-chief of the Commonwealth Armed Forces and chief diplomat. The legislative branch consists of a senate, made up of two representatives from each planet. The Senate passes new legislature and can impeach and veto the president. Finally the judiciary branch is headed by the Supreme court, consisting of one presidentially appointed chief justice and four associate judges elected by the Senate and serving a four year term.
Constitutionally all planets that are part of the Commonwealth must possess a similar government, though at a smaller scale, that has a Chancellor, Senate, and Supreme Court. Most planets, however, have a Congress that consists of a Senate and House of Representatives, which is a proportionally elected body. Planetary governments in the Commonwealth possess a great deal of power in comparison to the federal government, much more so than what is normally the case. Demographics:(Humans, Xenos, you get the idea) Leadership: Economy:(Can as brief or as detailed as you wish, could even be a simple list of resources you have and don't have.) Military: The military forces of the Commonwealth are divided into three broad groups: the Commonwealth Armed Forces, the Planetary Armed Forces, and various militias. Together they form the Joint Commonwealth Armed Forces, sometimes improperly shortened to the Commonwealth Armed Forces or more properly the Commonwealth Military or Commonwealth Defense Force.
The Commonwealth Armed Forces form the Federal government’s army and is tasked with the defense of the country and the projection of its powers beyond its own borders when necessary. By its very nature it is the largest, best organized, best trained, and best funded of the three groups that form the Commonwealth Military. Despite this fact it suffers from a chronic lack of funding, thus is forced to employ the use of fleet-in-being tactics and nodal defense forces to project its strength. In other words it lacks the necessary numbers to properly patrol even just the territory that makes up the Commonwealth.
As their name suggests, the Planetary Armed Forces are funded by and tasked with the protection of the planets of the Commonwealth. The size, strength, and quality of these planetary militaries differ drastically depending on the economic capabilities of the planet itself. Some Planetary Armed Forces can exert its strength throughout its star system, many, however, are limited to simply securing its orbitals and a few major cities.
The militias are made up of a plethora of groups that range from honest men trying to protect their homes to being little better than bandits or mobsters themselves. They are usually poorly armed and trained, but possess surprisingly high morale. History: Characters: Your sheet can be as detailed as you wish, there's not really a set way in preparing it. And you're welcome to add new bits to your sheet if you wish to share more about your nation, I don't mind customized sheets too much. You also have the option of playing as non-national organizations if you so wish.
@Sigma Right so this is the closest I'll probably get to a finished sheet. Unless someone can think of more civilian technology for me to add or something. Also, if anyone notices and contradictions in this, please let me know. My ability to focus has been absolute shite as of late, and it's hard for me to notice stuff like that.
Leadership: Black Sun is run by a group of cell leaders all reporting to man called Abraham. [Intel Report #9018]
Holdings: Black Sun holdings are scattered all across the cluster, well hidden from interested parties. [Intel Report #6682]
Description: The Black Sun is a human-supremacist paramilitary group that is involved in illegal or dangerous experimentation, organized crime, sabotage, and assassination. The organization supports the principle that any methods of advancing humanity's ascension are entirely justified, regardless of the cost.
Description and knowledge about the organization is disparate, varying on which layer of the cluster the information originates from:
Frontier - Populace glorify them like figures of legend or myth, using their stories to scare children; like a modern day Baba Yaga. Many relate the frequent cases of missing people to the Black Sun, but never really connected it to the organization.
Peripheral - Majority see them as a collection of gangs and pirates, preying on the less developed settlements and the desperate. According to unreliable sources, most of Black Sun's operations in the Peripheral are in the form of smuggling and human trafficking.
Core - Fear and terror, the prominent emotions a Core worlder feels with just the mention of the organization's name. People know they exist, but never gained any concrete evidence to support it. News never mention them directly, while authorities deny their existence. In some sectors, the mere mention of Black Sun is enough grounds for imprisonment.
Rumors in the black market mention of Black Sun's interest in procuring ancient artifacts belonging to a supposed nation of humans that existed before the rise of the current Core powers, called Genestealers. Asset Overview:

Nation Name/Flag:
Kingdom of Orleans
Government Type: Absolute Monarchy
Demographics: Human only, caucausian majority.
Leadership: King Reynaud D'Reciet IV
Economy: A primarily agriculture based society, the economy of Orleans is based around its extensive tracts of fertile land among its colonized worlds. Producing wheat, poultry, dairy, beef, pork, and lamb are the primary exports of Orleans, totaling upwards of 50% of its total economy. Furthermore, owing to its colonial territories, numerous fine wines, champagnes, rums, and burbons all are produced/distilled for further exportation/internal consumption. Currently, nearly 38% of Orleans active population is employed in agriculture, with the agri-food industry making up 42% of Orleans GDP.
The secondary sector of Orleans economic power resides in the mining/mineral wealth of its worlds. Massive crude oil derricks, deepwater oil platforms, and expansive iron/coal mines make up the back bone of both the power industry and the military industrial complexes of Orleans. Energy is provide via two main sources, that being the Hydroelectric power plants dotting the numerous rivers of Orleans and its colonies, and more heavily, in heavy Thermal power plants, producing energy based off of heavy crimson oil, found in abundance all throughout the realms of Orleans. The energy and mining sectors of Orleans employ a further 20% of the active population, and equate to roughly 13% of total GDP.
The remaining sectors of Orleans econimic power/employment comprise of military industry, tourism, finance, fishing, recycling, and so on.
The people of the Kingdom of Orleans have yet to discover nuclear energy, and to their knowledge, have no known sources of radioactive materials, as well as a known lack of heavier metals, such as titanium and platnium.
The backbone of the civilian merchant fleets, Dantes-Class Merchant Vessels are a common sight in the realms of Orleans, and abroad. Their design is a melding of both internal development, and external aid, owing to a somewhat different design from normal conventional shipbuilding within the kingdom. Weighing roughly 500 tons, these ships can carry in excess of 10,000 long tons, have a crew of 60, and are predominantly operated by civilian companies. *In times of war, civilian shipping vessels can be drafted into auxiliary military service if the need arises.*
Population: 1,670,022,000, dispersed throughout two primary systems, and two colonial systems.
Orleans System: Two inhabited planets, Quenelles - 556,674,000 citizens, and L'Anguille - 278,337,000 citizens. Seven total planets in system, three gas giants, Tancred, Viefin, and Beaumarchais, one ice giant, Massif Orcal, and one terrestial world, Cuilex. Primary system export, food and wine.
Mousillon System: One inhabited planet, Mousillon - 55,674,000 citizens. Five planets in system, two gas giants, Rachard and Mallobaude, two ice giants, Merovech and Landuin. Primary mining planet of the Kingdom of Orleans, largest mining operation run by "Three Sisters of Ancelioux" mining company. Primary export, crimson oil and steel.
Parravon System: One inhabited planet, Parravon - 334,004,400 citizens. Seven planets in system, four gas giants, Sanglac, Pegasi, Glorfinial, and Cassyon, one ice giant, Arden, and one terrestrial planet, Grismerie. Known for its tall picturesque peaks, some of the finest wines, rums, and bourbons on the market, and bustling tourist resorts. Primary export, Agilgar Spirits.
Bordeleaux System: One inhabited planet, Bordeleaux - 445,332,600 citizens. Five planets in system, one ice giant, Chalons, and three water/ice terrestrial worlds, Alberic, Aquitaine, and Turris. Covered in massive oceans, Bordeleaux boasts the largest fishing fleets in all of Orleans. Primary export, fish/seafood.
Military: The Military of the Kingdom of Orleans is broken into three distinct branches, each serving overall towards the defense of the Kingdom, its people, and above all else, its sovereign. In the endless void of space, the Royal Orleans Navy guards both near and afar. On the ground and internal airspace, the Royal Orleans Army and Army-Air Corp defends the kingdom's interests, and when the call arises, takes the fight to the enemy. Last, is the Orleans National Gendarmerie, who patrol the streets, cities, and colonies of the Kingdom. Officers are a mixture of promising candidates who've earned their positions through merit, and those of noble families, who purchased a commission for their son(s). The rest of the military is a mixture of career soldiers, and those who are serving their compulsory military service, requiring all men upon turning 18 to serve until they are 24 years old, upon which they are sent into reserve units until they are 48 years old.
*Enlistees can choose to extend their terms of active service, and in return can choose another branch of the armed forces should they so choose. Furthermore, all men can apply for reserve service extensions to the age of 60, dependent upon rank and position.*
Total Active Duty Personnel: 14,500,000 Total Reserve Personnel: 2,200,200
The pride and might of the Kingdom of Orleans, the Royal Orleans Navy serves at the express purpose of the King and his appointed officers. The navy operates proudly and with force throughout the realm of Orleans, sailing in flotilla's that patrol from the heart of Orleans to its frontier. Built with pride in the Brest-Biloxi Naval shipyards on Quenelles, the capital world of Orleans. Two more naval ship yards are located on outlying worlds, one being in Mousillon, and the other on Bordeleaux. The Royal Orleans Navy, R.O.N., seeks to protect the frontiers of Orleans first and foremost, however, they have been known to operate in an expeditionary manner to support other causes throughout the galaxy.
The land-based portion of the armed forces of the Kingdom of Orleans, they are charged in the terrestrial defense of all territorial holdings of Orleans, and in times of war, offensive ground based operations. They feature a sub-department within itself, known as the Royal Orleans Army Air Corp, who conduct in-atmosphere aerial operations in support of the military.
The primary law enforcement arm of the Kingdom of Orleans, the National Gendarmerie is an extension of the Army of Orleans, though mainly focused on localized law enforcement and protection of the citizens. From the far flung borders of the Kingdom, to the bustling metropolitan centers, the National Gendarmerie is charged with the arduous task of maintaining control over both land and space. They maintain law and order day and night, all in the name of the King.
The Gendarmerie's missions belong to three categories: 1) Administrative Police - Upholding public order, safety checks and traffic controls, assistance to people in imminent danger, protection duties, etc. 2) Judicial police - Handling penal law enforcement and investigation of crimes and felonies 3) Military and defense missions - Including military police for the armed forces
These missions include: - The policing of the countryside, rivers, coastal areas, shipping lanes, general space, and population centers. - Criminal investigations under judiciary supervision. - Maintaining law and order in public gatherings and demonstrations, including crowd control and other security activities; -- Police at sea/space -- Security of airports/spaceports, civil refinery sites and military installations -- Provision of military police services to the Orleans military — on the Orleans territory as well as during foreign operations (OPEX) -- For the Royal Guard participation in the state's protocol and ceremonies
Standardized uniform and equipment of the Gendarmerie officers. Of note is the armor, molded from durable steel plates that provide protection from both kinetic and energy based weapons.
A light infantry fighting vehicle, used extensively by the Gendarmerie in patrolling the frontier of the Orleans ground based territories. Mounts a high velocity 20mm cannon.
A light infantry fighting vehicle suited for urban operations, featuring heavier armor than the Dubois IFV. A short barreled 30mm cannon provides heavier firepower as well, without the risk of over penetration.
A more civilian version of the Vautour-Class Patrol Craft used by the Orleans Army-Air Corp, this vessel can operate in both atmosphere and in space, and is favored during long range Gendarmerie patrols.
Serving as the backbone of Gendarmerie naval operations, the Cerf-Class Frigate provides standoff capabilities against hostile forces, from pirates to marauders, the Cerf allows for a more aggressive patrolling and defending of the frontier.
*Excerpt from the Royal Archives, Document AH-0001.* "Concerning the time and history prior to the Great Journey, little to none is known. The Arc, La'Vie, experienced a rough landing upon coming into contact with Quenelles. The ship experienced a navigational error, along with unexplained systems failures, leading to the vessel to initiate an emergency re-entry landing upon the southern plains of the northern hemisphere's main continent, now known as Bastonne. The crash heavily damaged the archives, as well as nearly destroying the ship's main power-core, which lead to the reliance on secondary reactors, which have long since been drained within 50 years of touchdown. We are without knowledge of the past, save for those of learned dispositions, and for our own story's passed down through generations. For all intents and purposes, we are starting anew in Year One, E.E. Exodus Era." Captain Jean-Bart Garamonte.
**The Kingdom of Orleans uses it own designation for era designation, however, in accordance with greater Eden cluster time keeping standards, there is a roughly 200 year difference in actual eras, due in part to the arrival of the Arc La'Vie 200 years after initial Core systems colonization ship landing. Actual arrival to Eden Cluster is believed to have happened roughly 700 years ago.** Notes of Orleans Explorer Guy D'Lusignan.
