Character Name

Koriand’r, Princess of Tamaran
Starfire

Age

15

Attributes & Abilities

As a Tamaranean, Starfire has a vast array of abilities that on a genetic level allows her to be more durable, powerful, and dexterous than a normal humanoid being. This physiology is considered superhuman by definition, though it by no means she is without her limits. As an individual who has only been “active” with her superpowers for around three or so years, Starfire lacks the experience that veteran superhumans have in utilizing their abilities. To summarize, Starfire runs “hot” like her powers seem to imply and her stamina and metahuman constitution still largely define her combat capabilities in the long-term. Starfire is not resistant or even immune to telepathic domination or the supernatural and her own inherent kindness, anxiety, and curiosity tends to distract her from the greater picture. Starfire doesn’t like committing herself 100% to brutal actions as she has seen firsthand what it has turned her sister into.

That aside, Starfire is very versatile. She can expel and control a green thermal energy which she can utilize to allow her to levitate and go on the offensive. Her Tamaranean Physiology allows her to be neurologically unique and she can assimilate language through physical contact.

Her practical skillset (see: beyond powers) includes survival skills, tamaranean martial arts, and galactic knowledge.

Character Synopsis

Koriand’r was born on the planet of Tamaran, a core world in the interstellar political sphere within the star system known as Vega. Her childhood was bred from gleeful competition with her brother and sister, Ryand’r and Komand’r. For the majority of her childhood, things were peaceful and archetypal with a loving family, honorable mentors, and expectations being stressful but none too devastating. Kori never thought much of sadness or fear, they were emotions better fit for those who had to struggle; the worst Kori had to deal with was her elder sister giving her a stern glare or an aggressive lecture. But things did not stay picturesque for long. A sentiment Kori would think long and hard about when Tamaran became the target of alien conquerors known as the Gordanians. It was here that Kori was separated from her family and friends; her homeworld taken from her and her childhood ripped away before she could realize it.

Several years of her life seemed to pass by in an instant – she survived on her own, escaped capture on several occasions, and found herself trying to find any trace of her siblings as the Gordanians grew in power. After her sister disappeared without a trace and her brother was sent to a far-off slave planet, Kori found herself doing whatever she could to oppose the Gordanians and their growing influence. Kori herself still doubts she would’ve escaped from the Vega System alive and free if not for the influence of a vigilante known as Thaddeus Bach. It would be with her escape from the Vega System that Kori found herself once again being hunted down by the Gordanians.

After a zeta beam launches her to Earth, things may be reaching their most drastic. But help arises in the most unlikely of places, she finds.

Character Name

Kon-El
Conner Kent
Superboy

Age

Physically 17, real age unknown

Attributes & Abilities

Super Strength:
Superboy's most prominent and oft-used ability, his strength is only marginally less than that of a developing Kryptonian around his current age. He can lift objects weighing over fifty tons, shred steel with his bare hands and throw punches strong enough to shake a building. This same strength allows him to leap great distances and toss objects just as far, though it has the unintended side-effect of being quite difficult to control at times; Conner has to take considerable care to avoid doing too much damage to an opponent, often to his own detriment.

Flight:
Flight is one of the most iconic abilities of the Kryptonians on earth, and the one Kon-El happens to be the worst at. He has yet to grasp even the most simple concepts required to keep himself airborne, finding it next to impossible to guide himself through the sky; thus far, the best he can do is point himself in a direction and jump as hard as he can to achieve 'flight.' Attempts to redirect himself tend to end in a crash landing at best and a simple crash every other time.

Invulnerability:
Invulnerability is a misnomer, better defined as 'incredible durability.' There are few living beings capable of permanently damaging a Kryptonian, and Superboy is no different. Though such things as explosives and sustained gunfire can cause him pain, it takes a great deal of force to wound him in any meaningful manner, provided no Kryptonite is present. It is said the best way to kill a Kryptonian is with another Kryptonian.

Enhanced Senses:
Kon-El experiences our five senses at a far higher level. Each is tuned to be much more sensitive than any human could imagine, allowing him to see on several different spectrums, hear sounds no human ear could comprehend, and feel on a deeper level than most could put into words. While typically quite useful, he can easily be overwhelmed by sensations, with a particular weakness to bright light and sonic weaponry.

Character Synopsis

Kon-El's origins are shrouded in mystery, and any attempts to dig further into them have been strangled by red tape. All that's known is that he spent an undetermined amount of time within a government-run research facility dedicated to examining Metahumans and the role they play in modern society. An innocuous thing on the surface, how or why Kon came to be in their company isn't known; not much is known about them at all, in fact. All Kon has so far is a name- CADMUS- and the fragmented memories and dreams from his time in that place.

His first, fully-formed memories are of the night of his escape. He can still picture himself standing on the side of the road in the pouring rain, that strange bodysuit of his soaked all the way through, as he flagged down a pickup truck. It didn't take long for his powers to manifest, and it took even less time for the powers that be to take notice. A handful of Leaguers- Superman included- arrived at the farm Kon was residing at. They took him into protective custody, wary of why he was wearing the S and showcasing similar abilities to a trueblooded Kryptonian.

After what felt like hours of interrogation they eventually came to the conclusion that Kon genuinely had no memory of his past, and any attempt by their telepaths to coax it out of him have failed. Whatever the truth may be it was decided the boy was no threat to them, and they began working to help him integrate into society at large. He was given access to both the Fortress of Solitude and the Kent family farm and offered regular lessons in Kryptonian history and physiology by Kelex and trained in how to pass as human by the Kents.

He was promised, too, the chance to learn how to use his powers an an opportunity to do some good with them. But months have gone by without those lessons coming into fruition, and he's grown increasingly agitated by the restrictions placed on him; he can't so much as go outside unless he has someone there to monitor him. Requests for a 'longer leash' were all denied, and his frustration has finally reached it's boiling point. He's decided he's going to leave, whether they want him to or not.

Character Name

Cassie Sandsmark
Wonder Girl

Age

16

Attributes & Abilities

Empowered by the Greek god of war Ares, Cassie finds herself with immense strength and durability; the true limits of which she has yet to discover. The same can be said for both her speed and reflexes, which have been increased to superhuman rates. What more is that she finds herself with the ability of flight, much like Wonder Woman herself. While some practice is definitely needed, she is able to propel herself through the air at will.

More interestingly though, are the tools she's been gifted. Her Lasso of Lightning seemingly mirrors that of Wonder Woman's own Lasso of Truth, however, instead of willing people to tell the truth, it instead channels an electrical current stemming directly from the lighting of Zeus. The golden lariat's power seems to grow based on Cassie's rage, meaning that the angrier she becomes, the more powerful her lightning gets.

She also wields the Bracelets of Submission, the enchanted bracers of old, worn by all Amazonian warriors. Made of an indestructible metal, the cuffs are able to reflect a range of different attacks, including gunfire, blasts of energy, and other projectile weaponry.

Character Synopsis

Daughter of the Archaeologist Dr Helena Sandsmark, Cassandra's earliest memories were of exploring the world with her mother. Her job meant that they lived their lives on the road, travelling from one archaeological dig site to the next. Cassie never knew her father, however, with both her mother and the fellow archaeologists that travelled with them, she never felt the need for one. Her childhood gave her the opportunity to learn a variety of skills, from archaeology to learning a variety of foreign languages, but this came at the cost of her never attending formal education, and thus never mixing with children her own age.

It was around Cassie's 15th birthday that they travelled to a site in Greece, where Cassie was introduced to her mother's benefactor; Wonder Woman. She quickly befriended the Amazonian Princess, idolising her. Diana spent every night during the expedition telling Cassie tales of the Olympian Pantheon and her previous adventures, the young girl hanging at her every word.

Things took a turn during the expedition however when Dr Sandsmark excavated an ancient stone statue, created using the very clay that was told to have crafted Wonder Woman herself. Coming to life, the statue, now calling itself Decay, viciously attacked the group, targetting Wonder Woman. The creature was close to killing Diana before Cassie got involved and used a series of magical artefacts they'd dug up to push the creature back. Thanks to the assistance, Wonder Woman was able to defeat the creature for good, however, despite things turning out okay, Cassie's mother was horrified. It was this event that caused her to tell Cassie who her father was.

Discovering that her father was actually the Olympian God Zeus, Cassie begged him for a boon and a chance to have real powers so that she could help people just like Wonder Woman. Zeus said no.

In an attempt to help Cassie to move past everything that had happened and begin to live more of a normal life, Cassie's mother took a job as a curator of the Nation History Museum in New York City. But being in a city like New York only made Cassie want to help people more. That was when she found herself encountering none other than Ares, the Greek god of war and frequent enemy of Wonder Woman. Warning her of "the coming war", he told her he had heard her request to Zeus, and disapproved of the result. Dubbing her his champion, he gifted her with the strength and power of the Gods, along with the Lasso of Lightning and the Bracelets of Submission.

And so she began to use her new gifts for good, all the while fearing that she'd made a terrible mistake in trusting the God of War.

Character Name

Jason Peter Todd
Robin
The Boy Wonder

Age

15

Attributes & Abilities

Peak Human Conditioning;
Jason is due to well-adjusted diet and rigorous training the very peak of the human condition. He's the very peak a young man at his age could hope to achieve, making him stronger than most adults. The fact that he's 6'0 at 15 also never hurt in that respect.

Acrobatics:
Unlike the Robin of yore, Jason's not a trained circus acrobat but rather gained his limberness from engaging in the sport known as 'tricking' in his younger days. Well, that, and running from the cops and/or the mob at the age of 13 every night. Batman forced him to train to become an acrobat of Dick's caliber as staying on his feet and being able to stick to the shadows is the only way he would survive Gotham following Batman's footsteps.

Gadgets:
He's not as fond of the tools of his mentor as his predecessor, preferring to stick to using his hands or the environment when an opportunity arises, but, he's still versed in all of Batman's gadgets. He's able to handle his own with electronics, tasers, batarangs, bo-staffs, swords and some old fashioned explosives.

Detective Skills:
Jason's accustomed himself to a way of 'street detective-ism'. He's good at reading people largely the criminal and unstable kind, he does worse with well-adjusted individuals. He's got a lot of forensic training from Batman, though nowhere near enough to call himself an expert.

Martial Arts:
A well-tried fighter, Jason was scrappy long before he became Robin and got into regular fights since he was old enough to throw a punch. He's gotten hit a lot more times than he has hit, but he somehow finds a way to get back up onto his feet.

Criminality:
Perhaps being a former criminal doesn't look good on everyone's resume - but the fact that Jason spent more than half a decade alone on the streets of Gotham, fending for himself in the underworld of the most dangerous city on the planet did harden him. It made him understand how criminals think. An understanding of the circumstances that lead people down the path of crime, and he's willing to help everyone he can get out, much as Bruce did him.

Character Synopsis

Jason Peter Todd was born to Willis Todd and Sheila Haywood. Willis was a hired thug for the Gotham underworld, first the mob and then when Harvey Dent took over, he worked for Two-Face. That's how he met Shiela, a doctor at Gotham General Hospital, who saved Willis life after a fight. Sheila got pregnant after their one night of passion and did birth the child, though, once she did she was forced to flee the country due to a malpractice suit that sent the mob after her. Willis had a young son to care for and a life that belonged to crime - but a sweet young lady fell in love with his rogueish charms and married him, raising Jason as his own. Her name was Catherine and she was the mom Jason knew.

When Jason was 5, Willis had made a deal with Two-Face and the Red Hood Gang, but Willis double-crossed them. Leading to a group of thugs breaking into their apartment in crime-alley and beating Willis to death with crowbars, while Catherine and the young Jason watched, horrified. One year later on the day, February 21st, Catherine took her own life by overdosing on sedatives for the panic attacks she had suffered since watching Willis get beaten to death.

Jason was an orphan at only six years old. He was put in an orphanage after he was caught stealing food, six weeks after Catherine's death. But he ran away, so he was just another runaway in Gotham's slums. Doomed to a life of substance abuse and crime. But Jason never got involved in the drugs - well, he never took them. He had seen what they had done to his dad - and how they had killed his mom. He tried to stay out of the organized crime, and for a time he did. When he was 9 one of Willis old 'buddies' found Jason and realized he was Willis's kid. Jack took him in and helped Jason, for a time. But he soon demanded Jason would work for him, using his small frame to sneak around aiding him in his breaking. Climbing in through a window - opening the door, that sort of thing.

Jack was killed when Jason and he were robbing a nicer house in downtown Gotham. The owner was home after all and found Jack with his hand in the wife of the house's jewelry, shooting him in the chest with a shotgun. Jason was terrified and did what he, at the time, did best.
He ran.

But after that night, he stopped running. He started fighting. Jack had taught him that in this world, you have to be tough. But you can't just be tough, you have to be smart, too. Jason proved to be a lot smarter than his old man, figuring out police patterns and response times. Using a police scanner to know where the cops were, and then robbing a place on the other side of Crime Alley. Of course, he still got into fights. The other kids would fight him every chance he could, and as he started getting older, 12 or so, the adults would fuck with him.

He lived in the same apartment his parents had died in till he was 13 when he heard the roaring of an engine outside. A.. big engine. Bigger than anything he had ever heard down here before. And he knew. He bounced out of bed, dashing down the fire-escape to find the beautiful car unattended. He tried getting in - but to no avail. His tools couldn't open the cockpit door. So, the next best thing to prove to everyone in Crime Alley that he was the hottest shit in town - he started screwing off the wheels of the Batmobile.

No, really. The wheels of the batmobile. After living in Gotham his entire life.

Batman caught him in the act, he had only gotten off four screws on one wheel when the caped crusader got back from his hunt of a mob-boss. The Bat was injured, he had gotten shot in the side, limping back to his car. Not that Jason bothered to care about that - he saw it as an opportunity. He could be the one to beat Batman.

Swinging at him with a tire-iron, Batman caught it and stared into the young boy's eyes. Seeing the fire inside of them. The guts he possessed. Batman kicked his ass. Brutally. Jason had to go to the hospital where one Leslie Thompkins patched him up. His arm in a sling and no insurance, so when the bill came in the mail, Jason figured he would have to find some 50-inch Flat-screens to steal, somehow. But no, it was letting him know that his bill had been paid by the Martha Wayne Foundation for Youths-At-Risk.

Later that night, Batman appeared on his fire escape. Asking if he could talk to Jason, and Jason let Batman in, keeping a .45 revolver in his hoodie-pocket. The gun wasn't loaded. Jason didn't even have bullets. But it made him feel at ease. Batman informed him that he had pulled strings with the Wayne Foundation to help Jason out, and in return, Jason would be Batman's informant in Crime Alley. For a few weeks, Jason informed for Batman. Till a couple of thugs caught on that Jason was spying on them and attacked him. He fought as well as he could which, for his young age and the small frame was valiantly, but he was eventually beaten down, and as the thugs were about to do him in, the caped crusader came to his aid. Batman checked on Jason when one of the thugs got back on their feet and aimed his gun at Batman, Jason threw the Batarang that had fallen to the side, hitting the thug in the arm, throwing off his aim. Missing Batman with a few inches, and enough for the Dark Knight to throw his own, knocking the thug out.

From that day on, Batman decided Jason needed training. Jason was sent to live at the Wayne Manor where Batman's friend Bruce Wayne would care for him. Which, of course, didn't take long for Jason to figure out that Bruce and Batman were the same men. It wasn't intentional in the beginning, he was trained to survive, to live a better life.
Six months of hellish-training, strengthening every part of Jason's being, the 13-year old donned the Red-Green-Yellow Tights for the first time and it was, in his own words 'The best day ever'. He was Robin.

For the past 2 and a half years, Jason's been the Boy Wonder. Following an incident with Two-Face and Tommy Vascetti, Dent's right-hand man, and the man who had murdered Willis - Jason broke Tommy's back, paralyzing him. Bruce has benched him from Robin-duties. Sent him on a retreat in New York to cool off.

Character Name

Rachel Roth
Raven

Age

17

Attributes & Abilities

Raven is a Cambion. That is to say; she is the child of the demon Trigon and the human, Angela Roth. Due to the unholy union which brought about her birth, Raven is capable of feats which many consider unnatural. She is firstly an empath. Raven can sense, influence and manipulate the emotions in others. This ability manifests in different variations, from causing supremely destructive pain, inducing tension, and fear-based illusions. It can extend to stealing emotions from others and even feeding off of negative emotions to increase her powers. However, feeding on negative emotions comes at the risk of her demonic side taking hold. While the demon is in control, Raven's powers are fully unleashed but any trace of humanity, including sympathy and empathy, are gone.

Additionally, Raven can also heal others by absorbing the pain of the wounded into herself. Mortal injuries present a threat to Raven herself though, as the sheer pain can cause the girl to pass out, falling into a near-comatose state until her body has sufficient time to recover. For wounds, she has sustained herself; however, she must invoke the opposite and transfer her pain and subsequently, the wound onto someone else. An act not easily done while keeping one's own conscience clean.

Raven's primary method of defence is through the means of astral projection. She can project her soul-self astrally, manifesting it as a solid black energy form that takes the shape of her namesake. Raven has displayed the ability to control her soul-self in several ways. She can manipulate and generate both shadows and darkness. Manifesting these voids of light into a physical form, Raven can use them in various ways, including the emulation of telekinesis. Through her soul-self, Raven can travel long distances, become intangible, or communicate telepathically. Her soul-self can also act as a shield, capable of absorbing attacks to protect its host. Lastly, Raven can convert her physical body into her soul-self, being able to teleport herself and others.

As a student to the monks of Azarath, Raven is an adept in the mystics. Granted a particular affinity for the arcane due to her demon blood, Raven has learned reasonable control over various incantations and rituals at an accelerated rate. However, as Raven is not a member of the Homo-Magi, she can not merely cast magic. Instead, any spells performed must be carried out ritualistically. Magic requires time and preparation meaning its by no means a first resort for the teenager.

Raven's connection to her father and his realm has also allowed her limited precognition. When in physical contact with a person or object, Raven is sometimes able to see briefly into a possible future. This ability primarily manifests if the person is near death or in immediate danger. Alternatively, Raven is also able to scry events utilizing past evocation. This method of postcognition allows her to events which have previously unfolded around a person or object. Neither of these abilities is particularly reliable, other occurring involuntarily and infrequently. When they do manifest, Raven if often left weakened and fatigued.

Character Synopsis

When the Daughter of Madness weds the Brother of Blood
Trigon shall reign on Earth

This doomsday prophecy has loomed over Raven her entire life. Fears of the events foretold driving her every action. But to fully understand Raven's plight, one must first understand where she came from. Raven was born to a human mother and bred of a demon father. She has lived her life straddling the line between worlds. Her mother grew up in a repressed conservative household. Dominated by a restrictive father, Angela Roth was more often than not on the receiving end of her father's abuse.

Fleeing that life at the age of seventeen, she was left to fend for herself and quickly became destitute. Floating from shelter to shelter, Angela eventually found her way to the Church of Blood. Despite the ominous name, those inside welcomed her with warmth like Angela had never experienced in her own home. It was here, in the Church of Blood that Angela finally believed she had found that which she longed for.

Acceptance.

How wrong she would be though. Inducted into the church, Angela was groomed to be part of their small community. Their leader, Brother Blood, took an interest in Angela and soon she found herself receiving special treatment. It wasn't long after this she found herself marked as a sacrifice for the demon known as the Lord of Madness. The Church of Blood was not born on the blood of Christ. Instead, it was born of servitude, and that service was to the demon Trigon. Summoning the demon, he appeared before them in the guise of a man. Bringing Angela into his realm, the young woman became infatuated with his appearance and was soon seduced. It wasn't until she had laid with the Lord of Madness and been implanted with his seed that Angela saw Trigon for what he truly was.

Expelled from Trigon's realm, Angela found herself transferred from a cage to a prison. She was returned to the Church of Blood so that they may keep a watchful eye while she bore the demon's child. The child within her was prophesized to be the bridge for Trigon's domination of Earth. The Church, for its part, was intent on ensuring no harm came to neither the child or its mother. Angela, however, managed to flee the Church. Pursued and desperate, she attempted to take her own life only to be stopped.

Angela's saviour turned out to be a messenger from a realm known as Azarath. A dimension built on peace and spirituality, Azarath was a chance for Angela to have a fresh start. Hidden from the prying eyes of Trigon, Angela was made anew in the eyes of the monks who dwelled among Azarath's temples. In the spirit of her rebirth, Angela was given the name Arella.

Azarath would also go on to be the place where Raven was born. Raised among the temples and its monks, Raven was trained to control her emotions from a young age least she unleashed the demon within. The Azarathian leader, the Azar, took a particular interest in the young girl. Taking Raven as his personal pupil, he taught her to control her dark side. Once he felt she had control over that, the Azar expanded the girl's studies. She was informed about her father, his realm and those that dwelt within it. She was taught the arcane and the mysterious between worlds.

And then came her sixteenth birthday.

Azarath was invaded. On the day that Raven had turned sixteen, something within her had called out to her father finally alerting his blinded eyes to her location. Sending an army to reclaim his daughter, Raven was forced to watch as the pacifist monks were slaughtered defending her. Cornered and with nowhere to run, Raven was nearly captured if it wasn't for the actions of the Azar. Driving a knife through Raven's heart, he killed the girl, sparing her of eternity in servitude to her father.

But Raven didn't die.

As a Cambion, neither hell nor heaven was open to her soul. Instead, Raven woke up gasping for breath in a body that was not her own. Possessing the body of a recently deceased teenage girl, Raven found herself back on Earth. In New York City no less. Forced to be resourceful, Raven reinvented her identity, adopting the name Rachel and her mother's former surname of Roth. It has now been nearly one year since Raven has been on Earth and she knows with each passing day, her father is getting closer to finding her.

Kaldur'ahm
Aqualad

Character Age

17

Attributes & Abilities

Kaldur has the abilities of all Atlanteans possess thanks to their life underwater. He can breath below water, can swim and incredible speeds, has dense, durable flesh, and has enhanced strength, ranging towards super strength. Thanks to his time training under Queen Mera, he is also an accomplished Atlantean sorcerer. He has the ability of hydrokenesis, and can even form hard-water constructs, allowing him to turn water into bladed or dull offensive weapons. He can also generate electricity, not unlike an electric eel. He has also been working on the ability to speak to marine life, though he has far from mastered this. During his time training under Aquaman, he has become an accomplished hand-to-hand combatant.

Character Synopsis

Kaldur'ahm is the son of Atlantean Sha’lain’a and mutated human Calvin Durham. Calvin was experimented on by the villains Black Manta and the Ocean Master in order to have a man on the inside of Atlantis. While he was relaying information back to the Manta, Calvin slowly started to fall in love with the Atlantean way of life. More importantly, however, he soon found himself in love with the beautiful Sha'lain'a. He hid his true nature from her, and the two were married after a whirlwind romance. Nine months later, Kaldur'ahm was born to the joy of the two of them.

Kaldur grew up around the palace of Atlantis as his mother was a friend and handmaiden of Mera, the betrothed of Orin, king of Atlantis. As he grew, Mera saw the boy had a knack for Atlantean sorcery, and began training him when she could. As the years passed, he was joined under Mera's tutelage by the beautiful Tula, whom he quickly fell madly in love with. The two were Mera's prized pupils, and King Orin began to take a liking to the boy as well, and began training him in martial arts.

When Kaldur was in his early teens, Ocean Master and Black Manta launched their master plan. With the intel that Calvin had supplied years ago of a secret passage into the palace of Atlantis, Manta and his shock troopers attacked Mera and Orin, keeping them pinned down. Meanwhile, Ocean Master, the king's brother, attacked with his forces outside the city. Without their king and leader, the forces of Atlantis were disorganized. Calvin, though he had long ago abandoned his mission, realized his information had been used against his new home, admitted to his wife and son who her truly had been once, and rushed off to help the king and queen. His son, not missing a beat, followed close behind.

When they reached the throne room, they found the royal family near defeat. Father and son joined the fray, though they stood little chance. Kaldur used both his sorcery and his fighting skills in order to drive back the shock troops, but Black Manta proved to be too much for Calvin. The Manta killed Kaldur's father right in front of the boy, before beating Kaldur senseless. The young Atlantean was saved by a resurgent Orin, and the Aquaman repelled Black Manta before leading Atlantis's troops in victory over the Ocean Master.

After the battle, Orin offered Kaldur a place at his side as his protege. Kaldur accepted, and has worn the mantle of Aqualad ever since, protecting the Earth next to the Aquaman.

Garfield Mark Logan
Beast Boy

Age

13

Attributes & Abilities

In simplest terms, Beast Boy is a shapeshifter. He can adopt the form of any animal that he has either seen or is capable of visualizing (such as dinosaurs). Beast Boy's powers defy the law of conservation of mass, allowing him to transform from average human height and weight to that of a blue whale or an amoeba without difficulty. When transformed, he has all physical properties of that form. Thus, when a blue whale, Garfield's weight (displacement) is on a scale of 173 metric tonnes; however, when transformed to a hummingbird, he weighs mere ounces (a fraction of a pound). Garfield can go from one extreme to the next, changing forms consecutively without suffering any ill effects from the apparent expansion or compression of his mass. While in animal form, Beast Boy loses the ability to speak but retains his full mental faculties as well as all physical or physiological characteristics of that creature. As such, he can fly swiftly as a peregrine falcon, endure oceanic pressures as a whale, or go full Hulk smash as a full-sized gorilla.

Outside of his altered physiology, Garfield demonstrates a knack for languages. He speaks three languages fluently (English, Portuguese, and French), in addition to having some conversational familiarity with Arabic, Urdu, Swahili, and Lingana. Though an American citizen, his life abroad has resulted in his speaking English with a noticeable accent.

Finally, Garfield wears a suit composed of a matrix of unstable molecules. Devised for him by Mento and constructed by the Doom Patrol, the suit alters shape and mass in response to changess in Garfield's physical form. This most commonly takes the form of a collar around the next of his animal forms. This enables Garfield to maintain his modesty even while transforming between human and animal forms.

Character Synopsis

The son of paleontologist Mark Logan and biologist Marie Logan, "Gar" grew up in all corners of the world. After the death of his father in a boating accident, Marie Logan moved the family to a permanent home operating a wildlife sanctuary in the Republic of Qurac. At the age of eight, Gar contracted the Sakutia virus. Due to the isolation of the wildlife sanctuary and the rapid deterioration of Gar's condition, his mother was forced to treat him using an experimental vaccine developed for treating the virus in West African green monkeys. Though Gar made a full recovery from the illness, his body reacted to the vaccine.

In light of the aggressive, sometimes violent reactions, Marie Logan moved Gar to a pediatrics hospital in the United States. Tests revealed that Gar's genetic structure had undergone a mutation of unstable molecules within the rNA of his cells, thus allowing him to alter his shape and form. In particular, Gar was successful in changing shape and form into animals with which he was familiar. When treatments were unsuccessful in reversing the metabolic changes, Marie Logan again returned to her work in animal conversation with Gar in tow. As a result, Gar's nomadic childhood has been spent across the world; primarily Bialya, Brazil, and the Congo.

It was while operating an animal sanctuary Bialya, Marie Logan and Garfield were caught in the cross-fire between the outbreak of hostilities between Bialya and its neighboring country, Qurac. Though Garfield was rescued by the timely intervention of the superhero team known as Doom Patrol, he lost his mother in the attack. For a time, Garfield found a surrogate family in the Doom Patrol, though Mento's harsh treatment toward him eventually alienated Garfield from them. Returned to the United States in order to resume his education, Garfield has, on occasion, struck out on his own as the hero that social media knows as Beast Boy.
