I may be late, but can I join this group?

@Sedjwick, @Argetlam350 Maybe for relationships our characters met at a craftsman's fair, became friends, and have kept in contact since?
@AmpharosBoy Lasafar plays in a sports team from time to time. Maybe our characters met at a pick-up game, and Lasafar buys good scrap that Nohros finds?

@Jove Thanks for showing up! To ease your concerns, I don't aim for this to be a particularly rapid game.

@Jove It's a little simple, but nothing's fundamentally wrong with it. I would like to get a better idea of what you have in mind long-term though.

@Sedjwick In the future, I would prefer edits to reposts. In this instance specifically, though, you only changed the disc issue, and not any of the other more pressing matters that we discussed story-wise. The big issue being that it speaks directly counter to what I established in the opening post- namely that Toa have faded into mystery and that the Matoran of the Great Exodus built Kongero Nui themselves. Honestly it feels like you're trying to have your character "know all the secrets", so that you can use outside knowledge to your advantage. And frankly, that, plus your unwillingness to allow a barrier of knowledge, minor though it may be, between yourself as a player and myself as a GM, well, it's not necessarily a good sign. I can't say your character's accepted until I am fairly sure this won't create an issue of uncooperation in the future.

@tobiax I'm not trying to have my character "know all the secrets" by any means, and I'm fairly certain I removed any real knowledge about the Toa besides the myths and legends that would be fairly common knowledge. Varana is a strong believer in the existence of Toa, and is looking for any way to back up that belief, which may be where you're getting the idea that I'm trying to circumvent the established canon, but I assure you that's not my intention. However, it would be easier to correct the issues if you would highlight the specific areas in my character sheet where things aren't working out so that I can see the actual issues that you're having.

I don't want to have to disect everything- makes it feel less like a conversation and more like an attack. However, since it's what you wanted:
In fact, Varana has spent a fair amount of time over the years among the scholarly Ce-Matoran, learning what he can from them, often interviewing the eldest of the Ce-Matoran regarding times past, and such momentous events as the Great Exodus and the heroic feats of the mighty Toa. Varana has also traversed the eerily quiet halls of the temple of De-Congro, poring over any texts contained within the sacred building, as well as searching for any hidden treasures and lost texts the temple may house when he's certain no one is looking. As of now, he has yet to find anything of particular interest even within the most remote corners of the temple.

This right here- if I want to reveal something later, and I know I will, I don't want to run into contradictions of "Varana already knew that, and wasn't surprised" or things like "Why didn't Varana find that already?". It's a little too much getting around that opens a bit too many questions that I haven't had opportunities to answer yet.
A large, heavy, and wickedly sharp sword that he found hidden under an old shrine in Fe Congro. He is convinced that it once belonged to a Toa, but has thus far been unable to figure out what it does other than slow him down and cut through virtually anything like warm butter (the floor of his workshop is littered with grooves carved by him dragging the sword around). He keeps this sword in his workshop most of the time since it's too big to lug around with him everywhere even if it would make a formidable weapon if he could wield it (which he can't).

This should not exist in Kongero Nui honestly. No one was there to lose it, there was no reason to make it, as there hasn't been a Toa in Kongero Nui.

Honestly, six discs is still a lot, but it's a bit more reasonable. Still, since he's in refurbishing and not full on mask crafting, it raises the question of where, and more importantly how, he got them.

@tobiax Thanks for the clarification. I'll review everything and do my best to make the necessary adjustments. In regards to your last question about the disks, however, where and how did the Matoran of Metru Nui get the disks that they often carried around when most of them weren't even in refurbishing, let alone crafting? I'm rather under the impression that disks are a relatively common commodity among Matoran, and so having a few would not be all that surprising, especially since all the ones he has are the base types rather than the types that are created from combining two or more of the base types (most of which I can't remember anyway). Other than that, should I still bump the number down a little further, or is six acceptable?

@Sedjwick Kongero Nui isn't Metru Nui.

@tobiax True, but disks seem to be a common thing among all Matoran, so I don't suppose that disks would be any less common in Kongero Nui than Metru Nui unless it's more like Mata Nui and the art of making Kanoka disks and masks that have actual power has actually been lost in the time since the Exodus, in which case he would just have 6 (or fewer) disks that have no power.

Now you're starting to get on my nerves. First you say I'm missing the point, then when I ask what the point is that I'm missing so that I can get the point and resolve the issue you say I'm not right for this RP? I'm trying my best to abide by your rules, but every time I ask what I feel is a perfectly legitimate question, you either don't answer it or say I'm not getting it.

GM pants, activated.
The discs are the least of your issues regarding this character. You've only altered the minor issues and not the fundamental problem with the character submission.
This is an RP. Things are going to be different than what you've experienced with Bionicle in the past. You have to understand that not everything you know as a player is going to apply.
And to be honest I believe I have answered your questions to the best of my ability to avoid spoiling what I have planned.
Kongero Nui hasn't had any Toa before. You want to explore anything significant? Roleplay it out. You want to talk to NPC's? Write and roleplay it out.

I've acknowledged the fundamental issues that you've mentioned and am in the process of working those out, but at the same time I do want to make sure some of the lesser details are also not an issue, but when I tried to address it, all you said is I'm missing the point.

I understand that. I'm no stranger to RPing, but at the same time, the fact that this RP is based in an established world means that you are automatically adopting some of that world's lore into the RP. That said, I will do my best to abide by the lore that you have established and allow to be known to the characters.
And to be honest I believe I have answered your questions to the best of my ability to avoid spoiling what I have planned.

Like I said, I'm no stranger to RPing. I know how things like this work. However, seeing as we are not coming into the story on the first day of the lives of these characters, they are each going to have some knowledge base that is already established before the RP begins and some significant events that happened prior to the beginning of this story.

And there you go again, not even attempting to actually communicate the issues with me. Thanks, but I'm out. I think I can tell when I'm not wanted.
