About 360 feet in the air, a brilliant flash of light went off. The light was quite large and extended very far, able to be seen by anyone who was in the general vicinity. Following the light was the appearance of a spaceship, which seemed to snap into view in the blink of an eye. The ship was around the size of a battleship, it appeared to be military of some kind with its black utilitarian shape, and it almost looked like a pistol if you squinted at it. Most importantly though, it was on fire and in the process of crashing. Down and down it fell at an alarming speed before impacting on the ground with an earthshatting quake

...

::Chief! Chief! Are you alright?::

Master Chief opened his eyes to a blank, bright sky. As he slowly came to, he tried to comprehend what the sky looked like. He wasn't sure what to make of it, it looked foregin to him, like he had never seen it before. He then shifted his head to the left and saw a series of buildings, but...they looked off. Nothing like the buildings he was used to seeing. They looked like they were made of pure, solid cement, and had no doors or any kinds of markings on them. What more was that there weren't even any streets or sidewalks around them, it was just solid pavement all around. Where in the world was he? As Chief climbed to his feet, he tried to recall what happened. The last thing he remembered was jumping onto the Forward Unto Dawn with the warthog to escape the destruction of Installation 08. After that...total blank. As Chief thought about what was going on, he continued to survey his surroundings and noticed what appeared to be the Foward Unto Dawn lying down and burning in a broken heap. That image immediately snapped Chief out his his dazed state. He shook his head and stretched it left and right a little bit to get his bearings, and then walked over to the burning wreck

::Well, I guess that answers my question:: said Cortana

As Chief stepped closer to the Foward Unto Dawn, he started examining it. He wasn't an engineer, but he didn't need to be to know that the ship was in a pretty abysmal state. It was on fire and the middle section was on the brink of collapsing in on itself. As he was looking around, he spied something strange on the floor. There seemed to be some kind of...poker chips next to the hangar door? Chief was curious, so reached down to pick them up. As soon as soon as his hand touched the chips, suddenly the HUD on his helmet visor sprang to life and started typing out some text. It read:

Chief...wasn't sure what to make of this. Was this text telling him how these "token" things worked? Was he in some kind of...game or something? No, of course not, that sounded ridiculous. However...he had no idea what was going on and had no memory of how he got where he was, so he couldn't rule out anything completely. Not yet, anyway. ::So...what's your call, cowboy?:: Cortana asked Chief. Chief figured that there were more pressing matters at hand and he didn't have time to worry about this right now. "We just need to figure out where we are and if anyone can find us. We'll figure this out later" Chief responded as he made his way onto the hangar door of the Forward Unto Dawn which made a light metallic groan as he took his first step on it. "We need a vehicle"

Somewhere in the Crossroads, there was an unassuming little building sitting alone. It was a small building, only one story, and had a red neon sign above the door that read "Devil May Cry" in big, cursive lettering. A loud yawn could be heard coming from inside the building, as a young man with long white hair, wearing a pair of brown pants and black boots with no shirt stepped out from the building's bathroom and into the main office. His name was Dante, he had just finished getting out of the shower and was getting ready to go out and kill a demon that a client hired him for yesterday. About time too, he hadn't had any pizza in, like, 3 weeks. He was just about to step outside and get a breath of fresh air when something caught his eye: a piece of paper and what looked like some poker chips left on his desk. Dante thought about this for a second. Did one of his clients leave it there? Did they really think poker chips were a legitimate currency? Hell no, you can't buy pizza with poker chips! Now immensely curious, Dante stepped over to the desk and picked up the piece of paper, hoping it would shed some light on the subject. The paper read:

Dante read through a single rule and scoffed. This was obviously some kind of stupid prank. Some snot nosed kids probably left this on his desk last night or something. Dante paid it no mind and turned around to drop the paper in the trash bin behind the desk. However, just as he did, he happened to catch a glimpse of the outside from the window to his left and noticed something...off about it. It didn't look like the outside he was used to seeing out of the window, usually there was a view of the city streets that Devil May Cry resided in, but...that wasn't there. Instead, when Dante stepped closer to get a better view, he could see that Devil May Cry wasn't even on a city street, but instead was...in some kind of desert? What the hell? Dante stood there stunned for a moment, trying to decide how to even react to this. Confusion? Surprise? Fear? So many emotions and questions raced through his head all at once, but as he did, something just hit him. No city meant no demon or client. No demon or client meant no money, and no money meant...

...no pizza

"Aaaagh!" Dante yelled angrily, as he kicked the door next to the window so hard that it slammed open. "What's a half-demon gotta do to get a damn pizza?!" he shouted to nobody, but loud enough for anyone in the near vicinity to hear him. Alright, he thought, now it was personal. He then quickly walked over to the coat rack to put on his red coat, followed by grabbing the tokens and dropping them in the pocket of his coat. He picked up his sword and his guns, immediately placing them in their holsters with an angry shove, and then stormed his way out of the shop

Peter Parker slowly started to regain consciousness. As he opened his eyes, he expected to see the foot of his bed. Instead, the image that greeted him was the roof of a building, along with a city skyline. Wait, what? This shocked Peter awake immediately, and as he slowly climbed to his feet, he started to notice he was still in his costume. Oh jeez, did he accidentally fall asleep on the top of a building again after his patrol last night? Peter started to feel embarrassed, but before he could follow that line of thinking, he noticed something weird about the city skyline. First of all, it didn't look like the Queens he new at all, the layout was all wrong. But more importantly, out beyond the city limits looked like...well, he could only describe it as a random hodgepodge of things. Directly in front of the city where Peter was facing was a vast desert, but to the left of that it was a patch of snowy woodlands, and then to the other side of the desert looked like...some kind of medieval castle, or something? Peter admitted that this wasn't quite the weirdest thing he had seen in his lifetime, but it certainly came close. Peter started to think, what in the world was going on here? Maybe it was some kind of alien invasion or something? No, that made no sense. Was this Mysterio's doing? He certainly wouldn't put it past the old fishbowl, this was certainly weird enough to be his type of thing. Hmm...maybe it was--

'Ring ring!'

Peter quickly snapped out of his deep thought as he heard his phone alerting him of a text. Oh good, someone was messaging him. Maybe he could ask them for help, or maybe it was a clue as to what was going on. He eagerly pulled out his phone and read the message:

Unfortunately, this only left Peter with even more questions. First of all, he was pretty sure that message was over the character limit. Second of all, what were these so called "token" things it was talking about? He had no idea what was...oh wait a minute, Peter suddenly noticed some poker chip things lying on the ground in front of where he woke up. As he leaned down to pick them up, he noticed they had Spider-Man's face in the center of them. Man this was really freaking weird, Peter thought as he placed these "tokens" or whatever they were in a pouch on his suit, along with his phone

Well, he wasn't gonna get any answers by standing around and being weirded out, Peter figured. He took a running start towards the edge of the building before making a large leap off of it. He let himself drop about 40 feet down the building before using his web shooters to cast a webline at the very top of the building, and using his momentum to swing to the left of the building. As he reached the apex of the swing, he cut off the webline, did a small backwards spin in the air before shooting another web to the building next to him and repeated the process. Peter figured he'd go exploring this bizarre place, hoping it would lead to some answers

Skulduggery Pleasant
&
Valkyrie Cain

Skulduggery and Valkyrie woke up from the daze that being transported to The Crossroads left them in. After getting to their feet and looking around, the duo realized that they had absolutely no idea where they were. From the looks of their surroundings, they were in the middle of some kind of snowy forest. This whole situation immediately reminded Valkyrie of the one time she was shunted into another dimension. She didn’t like it then and she didn’t like it now.

Before either of them could understand what was going on or why they were here, they noticed that on the ground in front of each of them was a note and a collection of 5 tokens. Reading the note only increased their confusion. ”What the hell is this? Do you have any idea on what’s happening?” Valkyrie asked, turning to Skulduggery.

”Well, no.This is highly unusual indeed. But that doesn’t mean we should just stand around and do nothing. Searching around is our best bet at finding out what’s going on.” With that said, both of them pocketed the tokens and the note just in case they might need them. The two began searching around the woodlands to see if they could potentially find someone or something that could give them any hint at where they were.

”This is just what I need. Thrust into another possibly dangerous situation where we could most surely die horribly. Oh, and of course you’re here too.”

”That’s the spirit, Valkyrie. I’m positive that your need to complain about the situation we are in will definitely get us out of this mess. Now, be quiet and keep looking around.”

”Shut up.” Valkyrie mumbled under her breath before inevitably complying and continuing to search the environment.

Darth Vader

The Sith Lord slowly rose to his feet, noticing that his surroundings were entirely unfamiliar. He was seemingly in a desert and he immediately thought himself to somehow have been transported to Tatooine but upon looking around more carefully, he realised this to not be the case. He had no memory at all on how he ended up here and thought this to be very unusual. Was this some form of Jedi trick? A dream, perhaps? No, he would notice if that were to be true. This was something else.

Vader had been separated from the Empire and for all he knew, the world he once inhabited. There were four different directions he could take currently. In front of him was what seemed to be a city. Although, it was unlike any city he had ever seen before. To his left was a forest covered in snow. Looking at it from a distance he was reminded of the woodlands of Endor. To his right was an old stone fortress. And lastly, behind him was a building with a large neon sign that read “Devil May Cry” on it. Vader quickly deduced that because of all the different and varying locations that other people might have been transported here too. The Sith Lord decided that the best course of action would be to head towards the city as that was the place that is the most technologically advanced out of all of them.

Before he could begin on his way there, he stopped when he almost stood on top of a note and 5 tokens of the ground of the desert. Thinking this is no coincidence, he picked up and put away the tokens while reading the note. This situation was starting to become stranger and stranger. With this new information regarding the tokens in mind, Vader now began his trip to the city he could see off in the distance in front of him.

"I am not the villain in this story..."

The armored warrior launched forward with primal rage to strangle the mechanical antagonist with his bare hands, only to be lurched back into place via the plasma tethers attached to his body. Dr. Samuel Hayden's tech had done its job, both to the benefit and detriment of an enraged slayer of Hell. He knew well that he couldn't fully trust the CEO of the Union Aerospace Corporation. That's exactly why he considered to destroy the corrupt scientist the very moment he returned.

But Hayden was one step ahead of him. It was clear to him who he was dealing with. After all, he bore witness to the wrathful Doomslayer's destruction, regarding the demons of Hell and his own personal tech. He - a man of logic and reason - attempted to explain to him - one who lacks the ability to negotiate - his reasoning for what he did. Yet he knew what his reaction would be, especially considering the item he just confiscated from him.

"I do, what I do, because there is no choice."

. . .

"<:Rerouting_Tether_Coordinates_..._Complete:>"

The scientist paused briefly to hear the announcement before turning his gaze back towards his enraged captive.

"Our time is up." Hayden bluntly concluded as he shook his head, "I can't kill you, but I won't have you standing in our way."

Upon saying that, he ignited the item in his hand to reveal a crimson plasma blade that jetted from the crossguard-handle, ending with a twin-hooked blade. Inscripted upon the blade were demonic runes telling whatever one needed to know about it or how to use it. The Doomslayer needed no introduction for what the Crucible could do and utterly lamented the idea of how Hayden wanted to utilize it. Sure it can absorb large amounts of demonic energy and perhaps save the UAC after their temporary mercenary destroyed the only renewable sources of Argent Supply in the entire Solar System...

But the marine didn't care. He knew better than to reap the benefits of such unholy energy that would inevitably cause malevolency upon Earth. But with Samuel Hayden's possession of the artifact, he can continue his work. And being chained in place, all the Doomslayer could do was watch helplessly as his newfound nemesis reaped the benefits of the Slayer's achievements

"Until we see each other again." the mad, mechanical scientist ominously finished before proceeded to walk slowly back into the dark, ruined, depths of a destroyed Mars.

The armored warrior began to violently twist and turn in place, attempting to break the shackles and set himself free. But by then it was too late. His HUD confirmed the completion of the Tether's activation as he found himself floating in mid air for a few moments before his vision turned suddenly white.

Silent screams rippled through the Slayer's body as he swore vengeance over Hayden and his diabolical scheme with Hell. When he returns... he will purge Hell 10 times over, and present the head of their false idol on a metal pike.

After what seemed to be hours stuck within a bone-white purgatory, the Slayer found his vision quickly fade to black. At last, his consciousness had finally returned. When he arose, he found himself within a ruined metropolis, littered with the remains of once proud skyscrapers and covered in debris. He proceeded to look at his surroundings, inspecting every nook and cranny within his immediate vicinity. Then it slowly began to hit him.

Was he finally back on Earth after being exiled away for eons? And if so, had the demons already overran the world in hellfire?

Another wave of intense fury began to resonate within the Doomslayer's violent psyche. But just before he could take his fury out on the surrounding environment, his eye caught sight of another familiar object. A fairly large stone protrusion that sported a glowing green rune in its center. However, this was no ordinary inscription that was etched into the stone. It was a mark...

The Mark of the Doom Slayer himself.

He slowly walked towards the ominous rune, his boots crunching against the debris underfoot, before raising an armored hand out to it. There it touched his mark, before a quick shock rippled through his arm. The Slayer did not feel pain however, other then the high of power surging through his limb, as he let it limp back to his side. But instead of power, the rune gave him information. A deep demonic voice then began to explain to the armored Hell Walker about the new world that laid in front of him within his suit's codex folder:

His initial assumption was apparently incorrect. He was not on Earth, or rather perhaps, not the Earth he once knew. He was stuck in a world forever stuck in between dimensions, each colliding with one another to form one crude unintended universe. It wouldn't be the first time the Doomslayer had traveled through dimensions, but this place was nearly nothing like what he'd seen thus far.

Luckily, the world was fair enough to provide an escape route for those unwilling to stay. If the Slayer was to collect 100 of these... collectibles, he can wish himself back to his universe and continue with his intended goal. But to do so, he'll have to remain here for a while, ripping and tearing into hordes of enemies until he has enough of said currency. However, as what he was told, the Slayer would start out with 5 of these tokens, which were presented to him in a small case that laid beside the demonic ruin. Picking them up, the Slayer inserted them into a storage compartment within his suit.

5 down, 95 more to go.

But just as he was about to plan his next objective, he would hear an angry cry coming from behind him.

"What's a half-demon gotta do to get a damn pizza?!"
Dante

The Slayer froze for half a mili-second, his mind permeated by a particular phrase, before swiftly turning around and firing the first weapon that came to his hands - his trusty combat shotgun. From the range he was currently at, it was expected that he would miss his target, but that was merely just him making sure his weapons were at working condition. And indeed, his shotgun was at near-full capacity, ready to rip through demon flesh at a moment's notice.

This would be the perfect candidate for the Slayer to release his pent up aggression on.

Steven's back ached.

That was the first thing he noticed when he woke up. The second thing he noticed was that he was outside - and as he shifted slightly to try and get more comfortable, he figured that he must have conked out on top of his Dondai. He was almost going to turn over and maybe get five more minutes before a surge of panic filled his body- Like, he up-and-left with no warning last night! After the Cactus Steven incident he'd insisted to the Gems that he didn't have anything he needed to talk about, that he just wanted to rest after all the fighting and the picking-cactus-spines-out-of-skin.. and he did all that, obviously, but when he was sure the Gems weren't paying any attention, he slipped out of the house. He just.. He needed to be alone in his thoughts, so he'd gone to that one little spot in the outskirts of the city that he liked. His personal little broody space, if you will. Brooding Hill was fine, but everyone went there to brood. It was too mainstream. Or would it be main-hill? Ha-

Ah! Right, right, anyway- Crap, he shouldn't have conked out! He needed to call Pearl and tell her that he was ok! He snatched his phone from his pocket and was horrified to find he had almost 20 messages. He quickly tapped the screen to read them, thinking it was his dad, Pearl, and Connie all texting him in a panic, but.. No. No, the messages were from someone who's number looked.. Garbled? Glitched? Ah, no, was his phone broken? The glimpse he allowed himself to take of the messages were.. Nonsensical, to say the least- His phone had to be busted, somehow, right? Cracked? Overheated? He brushed his finger against his phone, then tried to maybe angle it in such a way that the sunlight catches a crack before just giving his phone's screen a quick peck - he couldn't see it, but it had to be there, somewhere. He checks again, but.. Nothin'. No scratches, it's not overheating- There's nothing wrong with his phone. The number and the contact information really were just positively garbled beyond his comprehension. Maybe it was a hacker..?

Steven readjusted how he was seated as he scrolled through all of the messages, carefully taking in the information they held. It all sounded kind of bogus, or like a really weird spam-y copypasta. Like.. Crossroads? Tokens? Pacts and traitors and wishes..? It all sounded insane, but..

He looked up again, suddenly finding himself.. Unsure. Like sure, this did look like home, but something felt funny when he woke up - and not just his back. Something just.. felt.. wrong. It was too quiet, it was.. It was just too.. Aaah, he couldn't quite explain it in words. It's just a feeling, you know? With that, he hopped down from the roof of the car, and after securely placing his phone in his pocket, decided to jump up up UP into the air to get a look around. It felt silly, because he knew, logically, that he'd just end up laughing this off as he sees Beach City and Little Homeworld in the distance- but... Well, he didn't. He didn't see Beach City. He didn't see Little Homeworld. He didn't even see where Jasper's had made her little clearing. He only saw more forest, and up to a point it stopped being his forest. Where his forest ended and this new, weird forest began, it was snowy, and the trees were of a different type. It.. It didn't make sense! It looked like someone cut a chunk of his home out and plopped it somewhere else! It made no sense-! His descent sped up slightly as he felt a flush of anger rush from his chest and to his face. Like- what? Just.. Just what? What was going on? Why did this happen?! Why him? And why now, of all the times-

He landed firmly on the ground below with a little puff of dirty dust, his face still tinged red from the surge of emotion. Steven then pulled his phone up again and re-read the messages, scanning for any sort of answer, but... Nothing. He grumbled, hands shaking as he wrestled with the urge to just smash his phone into bits, but- no. No, he can't do that- But as he's looking at the phone, he gets another idea. Maybe he can call his dad. His dad could go to where Steven last remembered being, and then-

The positively horrific, robotic screaming that emanates from his phone makes Steven let out a girlish yelp of surprise. In said surprise, he accidentally drops his phone to the ground and stumbles before falling backwards, his right ear ringing from that horrible technological death-screech. He quickly got right back up, hanging the phone up as fast as he could so his speakers didn't get shredded to pieces from that noise.

"Ho-kay," Steven breathed, talking to himself, trying to pep himself back up. "Okay. This is fine! This is fine." He turned his phone's screen off to conserve the battery, and with still-shaking hands he pocketed it again. "You've been through weirder- er, equally weird things, and.. And you got through it. You'll be ok, Steven. You will be ok."

An explosive exhale quelled some of the anxieties that had bunched up in his chest and throat, and he opened the door to his Dondai - he's not about to walk in the snow in flip flops and get frostbite and all that crap. When he sat down in the driver's seat, he was surprised to actually see those five little "token" things that the mysterious text messages made mention of just.. chillin' on his dashboard in a neat little stack. He pulled his phone out again to re-read the texts for a third time - mostly the parts about the tokens. Flip one like a coin, and something good or something bad could happen; get 100 of them, and you can wish yourself back home; or use three, and summon someone to help...

He opens his glove box and moves the tokens from his dash to safely in his glove box. He can't summon anyone to help, because what if they get hurt? He wouldn't be able to live with himself. Connie would probably be infuriated, but.. No. No, he wasn't going to watch Connie die like he did Lars, and he's not going to watch the Gems get shattered. Steven reverses the Dondai out of the clearing, picks a direction, and then drives. He very nearly goes to turn on some tunes, but.. He feels like he really ought to focus on where he's driving, lest he runs into something unpleasant.

Hopefully, of course, he doesn't, but.. Better safe than sorry.

::Attention any UNSC personnel on this frequency. This is Cortana, AI serial number CTN 0452-9, and Master Chief Petty Officer John-117. We have crash landed and we need assistance. Please respond as soon as possible::

A few seconds passed and Chief had gotten into the warthog that he used earlier to make the jump onto the Forward Unto Dawn. He was currently backing it out of the ship using the hangar door and out into the Crossroads ground. "Keep working on that distress signal, Cortana. I'll drive around and see if we can boost our transmission at all" Chief said to Cortana as he then turned the warthog around to face it away from the ship and started driving away from it. ::I'm trying as many comm frequencies as I can, but I'm not getting anything. I hate to say it Chief, but I think we're on our own:: Cortana said with a slightly worried tone. "Don't worry, I've got a backup plan" Chief responded confidently, looking over to the flare gun that he placed on the passenger seat of the warthog

Just as Dante was making his way out of Devil May Cry, he immediately heard the distinct sound of a shotgun blast coming from his side, followed by the feeling of a pellet piercing his flesh. It almost missed and only grazed his shoulder, but it alerted him all the same. Great, he thought, not even 5 seconds into this stupid place and he was already having trouble. He turned to his side to see who just shot at him to find...a schlub in some kind of military getup? Alright, that was different. Dante let out a frustrated sigh

"Alright look G.I. Joe, I dunno whatever beef it is you have with me, and to be honest I couldn't give half a damn. You're lucky I'm not in the mood to deal with you right now, so I'm gonna let you off with a warning, alright?" Dante said with a large amount of frustration in his voice. Realistically, he knew that this person was not gonna drop it that easily, but Dante was just too frustrated to care. He promptly turned back around and continued walking in the direction he originally was walking in

As Peter swung around in the city, he kept his eyes and ears peeled for any signs of activity in the streets. However, after a couple minutes passed and he didn't seem to be finding anyone, he was starting to get discouraged. Was he really all alone in this strange place? Didn't that message say something about other token holders? Where was-- wait! Suddenly, Peter noticed something out of the corner of his eye. He saw a silhouette of a man near the edge of right where the city met the desert. Oh thank god, he thought. Someone else to talk to in this godforsaken place. He promptly started swinging his way over to the distant figure, thinking about what he'd say to him once he got there

Unfortunately however, the closer and closer Peter got to the figure and the more of the details he could make out, the more his heart began to sink. The person was dressed from head to toe in black, with a creepy helmet shaped like a skull and a sinister looking cape. If Peter were to make a list of things to wear that gave off bad vibes then this guy would check, like, all the boxes. Instead of going up annd talking to him like he originally planned, Peter decided he would instead follow him from a distance at the top of the buildings and watch what he did. He made a quick landing mid swing on a medium sized building and leaned down in a crawling position to lower his profile so he wouldn't be seen and started watching the mysterious cloaked figure

OOC: Honestly I'm pretty sure Peter would PROBABLY recognize who Darth Vader was, but I feel like him noticing that would make things kinda weird, so let's just pretend the Star Wars movies don't exist in this Peter's universe XD

DIO

DIO was reclined on his lavish bed, submerged in inky shadow. Somehow he found the light in the room to read the pages of a dusty tome infront of him. In his hands were the ancient holy words of the Quran, the founding text of the Islamic Religion. One of the many books DIO had acquired in his short time on the surface. He found it interesting and helpful to research how humans found meaning in their short existences. Christianity, Buddhism, the many so-called pagan religions that had existed for millenia. All of them comforting lies, of course, opiates to blind humanity to the utter triviality of their births and deaths. DIO, on the other hand, was eternal. He would live forever, for he had chosen to do so, and he would not waste his time. Once the Joestars were dealt with, DIO would mold the world in his image. With the help of a sole ally, who had a wonderously powerful Stand, he would forge a paradise from the uncaring universe. This paradise, this heaven, would be under his control. These were the things DIO considered as he read another holy text within his mansion in Cairo.

But his thoughts were interrupted. Suddenly, he was alone. "Just as a peaceful silence can be ended by an invanding noise, so too can an unbroken sound be shattered by silence. Could it even be possible?" DIO set the Quran down on his bed and slowly strode over to the mirror. Then he turned his bare shoulder to the reflective surface, to stare at the star shaped birthmark on his left shoulder. "Ever since that fateful day so very long ago where Jonathan Joestar joined me at the bottom of the ocean, I have felt the tinnitus-like presence of the Joestar bloodline pressing against my soul." He held his right elbow with his left hand, then moved his right hand next to his face in the shape of a circle. His long blonde hair flowed like a frozen waterfall down his porcelain shoulders.

"Yet today, finally, that incessant ringing has been snuffed out. No longer can I feel Jonathan's descendants growing ever closer. No more can I hear his call. The invisible strings of fate that connected our hearts has been cut. Could it even be possible?" There was disbelief in his voice.

"Could one of the Stand Users I sent to kill the Joestars have truly succeeded? But then, I would still feel the dying throes of Jotaro's mother, who still has weeks too live. No, something else has happened. It is not the Joestars that have been removed from my life, it is I who have been removed from theirs'. But how? Who could have seperated me from the interminable machinations of destiny?" Ethereally, the doors of his dark bedroom opened. The halls always were silent, but D'arby Younger, Petshop, Vanilla Ice, Billie Jean, and the one they called Nimrod could not be found. Calmly he explored the depths of his mansion.

"Indeed, I am alone. Myself, and my mansion, have been transported somewhere. But not just somewhere on Earth- the only possible thing that could seperate Jonathan and his descendant's fate would be the veil of another universe. I have read of such things in my library. There are many mysteries that have confounded human kind for centuries, and few more perplexing than the idea of another realm coinciding with our own. So close, yet so far. Hugging tightly to our realm like a shadow, only to vanish in the coming light." Gliding over to the entry way of a staircase, DIO turned his head around the corner. There were drawn velvet curtains there. The sun, lethal to the vampire lord hidden within the mansion, clawed like a beast around the edges of the curtains.

"Wherever I am now, morning still exists. Unfortunate. It seems I, DIO, will still have to pluck the stars from the sky myself when I create my perfect world. Still, further examination is required. Wherever I am now, the sun must go down eventually. If not, then I suppose I am trapped in here until I figure out a solution. Still, my mansion is much more luxurious and spacious than my coffin, and if I have waited a hundred years to return to the surface than I can wait a hundred more." The heavy wooden doors of DIO's bedroom swung inwards. Though something caught his meticulous eyes.

"What's this?" He asked, approaching the Quran. Inside the pages, like a bookmark, was an envelope. The old kind, made of parchment and course paper, the type from his childhood. Opening it up, his dark eyes glinted with wonder and mischeviousness as he aborbed the contents within. Turning the envelope upside down, the poker chips described in the letter fell out. They would have scattered to the floor, had they not instead been collected in the hands of an unseen, passive, but utterly malevolent force. Engraved on the surface of the poker chips was a simple but unmistakable minimalistic rendition of a grey head wearing a yellow helmet, two pupiless white eyes poking out from within.

"This certainly lends credence to the outlandish claims of this letter. No one has ever seen the face of The World. This could not be the work of an enemy Stand User, no the cosmic forces at work here are plainly obvious to see. Even I, the mighty DIO, are at the whims of this otherworldy Crossroads. Fascinating. The powers these game chips promise are tantalizing to explore. I wonder if time passes linearly here. Were I to collect 100 coins and return to Cairo, would time have passed? If I were to wait here for twenty more days, would Holly's miserable life have ended, and the Joestars fail in their mission?" He smiled cruelly, gathering the poker chips in the air and sliding them into his pocket.

"But then again...the time limit of my curse is an advantage of mine. No doubt the Joestars would seek vengeance. But since they lack the strength to allow Holly to die, they bluster foolishly onward, giving up any advantage they may have had were they to pause and approach me cautiously. It would be within my best interest to return as soon as possible, if time passes at the same rate within the Crossroads as on Earth." DIO slowly opened the doors of his wardrobe, placing the letter and envelope gently on a shelf within. A thought occured to him and he smiled, slipping his skin tight black top over his body, and then reaching for his gaudy yellow jacket that matched his long golden trousers.

"I wonder, if a wish by these chips could affect places outside of the Crossroads. Perhaps it would be somewhat anti-climactic, but to simply wipe the Joestars from existence as if removing a stray mark from a pencil on an otherwise perfect essay would be a delightful joy. One hundred chips more, and I could return to an Earth free of the plague that is the Joestar bloodline. I wonder how many others have been drawn into the Crossroads. Perhaps," he said, the smile fading from his face, replaced with one of genuine intrigue, "I could use the power of the Crossroads wish to create my perfect afterlife, with I, DIO, as it's ruler."

He smirked again, shaking his head and crossing her arms. "But I should not get too far ahead of myself. With only a pittance of five coins at my disposal, my first priority will be the dominance of those who stand in my way. Perhaps I could summon one of my servants here, to me, though I wouldn't want to take them away from their task of killing the last Joestars. I shall stay put, for now. If night falls, I shall exit my mansion and explore this new world..." His eyes lost their luster and became two endless black pits. "...And then, I shall take it, for all it has."

DIO's mansion was distinct from the monolithic stone structures that surrounded it. On the edge of a vast desert, not unlike the timeless sand dunes of Egypt, a castle-like formation of stones were seen. Within this sea of concrete was DIO's mansion. A sprawling labryninth of a building, made of rock steady yellow stand stone, with swooping arches and pleasant domed ceilings. A palace, fit for a king. Even in the Crossroads, the building carried with it a sense of pure evil. The buildings around it were not free from this influence, they were stretched and warped, made wicked by the presence of the malicious entity that had been placed within their midst. Within this construct stood DIO, waiting for night to fall and for his reign of the Crossroads to begin.

Eltariel

A fleck of snow fell on Eltariel's cheek. She was a slender woman, wearing dark blue scale-mail and form fitting leather leggings that would blend right in with the night sky. Her attire gave away her stealthy, combat-ready inclinations, which is why she looked particularly out of place unconscious in the snow surrounding by tall trees. Consciousness returned to her, and she squinted against the back of her eyelids. After a moment they fluttered open, revealing two large eyes with icy blue iris' with them. Eltariel furrowed her brow and sat up, glancing around. Did she die again? The last thing she remembered was, well, fighting orcs, like usual. She reached for the dual sheathes attatched to her back and drew one of the wide-bladed short swords within. Rising to her feet she glanced around, scanning her environment. A strande of light blonde hair drifted from beneth her dark blue hood. This reminded her of Seregost, but there was much too many trees for such a thing to be true. Where was she? She reached out her mind to find Galadriel, to speak to her. But...after a moment, no response came. There wasn't even a connection. Not in a thousand years had that happened, and all at once Eltariel began to feel fear swell up in her heart. What was going on? Where was she? Where was Galadriel? Death did not make sense. Always, she reawoke at the pinnacle of some ancient stone tower. Not in the middle of a snowy forest.

Spinning around, she caught sight of something sticking out of the snow. A parchment, or scroll of some kind. Reaching down she grabbed the wooden handles and stretched it out, desperate for answers. Several small circles spilled out the scroll and into the snow, gleaming. Not to be distracted, the elf frantically read the scroll. As she did so, her face morphed into one of frustration and disgust. What kind of sick game was this? She had a duty to perform. This infernal Crossroads has trapped her here with no explanation. It was far too outlandish to even be true, but the forces of magic were beyond Eltariel's comprehension. Tossing the scroll onto the dirt she kneeled down and gathered the coins in her hands. Surprisingly enough, they carried with them the intricate symbol of the Blade of Galadriel.

At least they got that right, Eltariel thought sardonically, stuffing them within one of her many hidden pockets and sheathes. After a moment though, she thought otherwise. With a derisive sneer she fetched three of the coins and held them in the palm of her hand. Could these really bring anything into this universe? From her own universe? Universe was a worde she recognized, though to her it more closely resembled something like a realm. There was Middle-Earth, then the eternal isles of the Elves, and many more beside that. Wherever Men went when they tied. It was very possible that she had ended up in one that was unknown to her, with sick game-like rules such as these. With that, she held the three coins high up in the air.

"Tower of Silver," She commanded impatiently. These were the closest thing she had to a home back on Middle-Earth, and where she woke up every new dawn. They stood at around fifty feet high. Climbing one would also give her a good view of the area, and as far she knew they were nearly impossible to destroy as not even the rampaging Uruks had managed to bring them down.

The coins vanished, though she barely noticed until she looked at her now empty palm. Though she picked up on something quite quickly. The looming presence of a Silver Tower. It's brick were a green-ish black. It erupted from the earth quite dramatically, and rose high above the trees. Already she felt the New Ring on her finger drawn to the source of power at the top. Fair enough, she thought. For a moment she pondered if her powers had left her aswell, but those brief fears were allayed as she effortlessly and quickly leaped from handhold to handhold, weightlessly traversing to the Tower of Silver's summit.

All at once she began to glance around, looking for signs of life and what the environment held in store for her.

As the dragon quietly woke from his slumber his eyes took in the surroundings. From what he could gather he was in.. Wait. He was in Berk. Or well, whatever the humans called Berk nowadays. He sat himself up and looked around. The place looked abandoned, not a scent of any other friend - nor foe - not even a noise. As he got up and shook himself off he noticed an oddly placed stone in the middle of the clear spot - so, of course, he went up to inspect it, the words somehow being a form of dragon language.

Odd, the dragon thought, but inspected the stone further upon reading the rules but not seeing anything - until he looked behind the stone to find the chips. He tilted his head as they seemed to be black-ish with an imprint of him in the center, but he simply slurped up the chips and swallowed them - thankfully dragons can hold items to regurgitate them.

With a shake of his head, Toothless took off, making his way up to the sky to - Wait where's the ocean? as he looked over where he should be able to find the way back to the hidden world, he just saw trees - a forest even surely he was looking the wrong way, right? He turned to see a divide - there seemed to be New Berk, but on one side there was a forest, the other was a harsh looking desert. So much sand everywhere.. The dragon gave a groan and landed, sitting on the grass. Maybe the trees will bring better news - with that he entered the forest.

"I knew I should've put some tennis shoes in my car."

Steven grumbled to himself as he held his jacket closed, another little shiver running up and down his spine as he trudged through the snow. He was forced to leave his car behind simply because he couldn't keep weaving his car through the trees. He wasn't like, the worst driver, but he also recognized he could only push his luck so far. He didn't want to get the Dondai stuck between a rock and a hard place, y'know? His dad would be so upset. Not really at him, but.. His dad loved that Dondai a lot, so.. Yeah. Leaving it in one piece was better than trying to bob and weave through ever-thickening trees. Despite all his hesitation, he ditched the car in the hopes he wouldn't need to walk that much further.

He found himself tempted to nix his shoes entirely, but.. Gah, his feet would be completely unprotected, and that was no good. He could practically hear Connie telling him that "suboptimal protection was better than no protection!" With that said, he didn't like having to shake the stray snow from between the underside of his feet and the topside of his flip flops every so often. It was so cold. So very freaking cold...

As he continued to walk, he found himself wondering... Why? Why was this happening to him? Why now? Who brought him here? Did they need his help, somehow? And then a very particular kind of thought came to him, making him flush with anger- Was this yet another punishment for something his mother did? Maybe this was some Gem that had.. dream powers, or something, that Pink Diamond once again abandoned, or Rose Quartz somehow wronged, or- He groaned inwardly, unclenching fists he didn't even realize were clenched tight before stopping and ruffling his own hair in some vain attempt to release the anxious tension.

"Stop it," he softly whined at himself, "Stop it Steven! Thinking about that stuff does you no good! Come on, one foot in front of th-"

Crack, snap, crunch. Toothless gave a snort as he continued to wander through the trees, stomping about like the large Alpha dragon he is. Unfortunately, he turned up absolutely nothing! Maybe he needed assistance, but from who? No one was at Berk and certain no one's inside this forest. Oh! That's it! Toothless quickly regurgitated the tokens and slurped down the other two before promptly sitting up on this hind legs and chuffing. Probably a signal for summoning.. something. But what? Toothless watched the tokens as they seemed to do.. something and then suddenly- Hiccup! The moment he saw the male in front of his eyes he pounced, pinning him under his feet and licking him - all while cooing and making more chuffing noises.

Wait what, wasn't I just with- Hiccup had very little time to think as he was suddenly hit and pinned on his back, causing fear to strike in an instant - oh jeez, what was it this time? Did one of the vikings have a problem? Was Odin finally coming down himself to knock some sense into the Chief of Berk? As Hiccup looked up, for a split second, he saw - "Toothless..?" Suddenly he was being slobbered on and assaulted by the dragon he knew as his friend. He found himself squirming and laughing beneath the beast and shoved him away. "Hey- Woah, buddy! Calm down, I don't need another outfit ruined" He said with a chuckle as he sat up and looked around, putting a hand out to absently pet the dragon. "Where are we, bud? I don't think I recognize this forest.." He didn't get much of a response except a small murmur from Toothless, but he could deal with this later.. Right? Right. He's just really confused on how he just showed up here when he could have sworn he was talking to Astrid about something important.

STAR WARS

Episode IX
"CROSSROADS OF FATE"

"The galaxy is in chaos.
After the FIRST ORDER raided
the RESISTANCE'S base on Crait,
they found themselves biting
at the heels of the last hope
of the galaxy.

Upon encountering the home fleet
above the planet of ORD MANTELL,
Supreme Leader KYLO REN launched
an all out surprise attack to
destroy the last remnants of their
enemy once and for all.

However, during the battle, an
unforeseen phenomenon had casted
out the First Order's commander
out of the battlefield and landed
him in a new world unlike anything
he had seen before..."

Deep within a vast snowy forest, smoke could be seen rising from the proud conifers. If one was to follow its trail through the winding trees, they would come upon the wreckage of a vehicle. It was buried underneath a significant amount of snow, rock, and compromised by a fallen tree that fell upon it. It was a fighter thrown into complete disarray and unable to be properly salvaged. Animals nearby investigated the wreckage with some smaller creatures finding themselves on top the ruined vessel while other herbivorous fauna fed on the frostbitten bushes nearby. All however seemed quiet. But even the animals couldn't help but to feel somewhat uneasy about their surroundings. For there was a dark and rather unnatural aura surrounding this metallic vessel. It would be unwise for them to believe that they can let their guard rest for only a minute.

Suddenly, a cackling crimson blade shot out from within the ship, scaring off the nearby animals within its vicinity. The glowing blade shrieked and groaned as it cut through the cold metal like butter. It would then begin to move downwards before making a right, eventually making a crude square-like cut from within. The metal slab would be violently forced open, where a figure emerged from the grimy darkness. From it, a masked figure coated in black revealed himself, wielding his crimson crossguard lightsaber that sizzled for every piece of snow that landed on its plasma blade.

The once proud supreme leader, the vicious and hot-tempered Kylo Ren, who was leading his fleet just minutes ago to victory, has found himself in a cold dark forest with only the force and his thin long-sleeved attire keeping him warm. He was seething in rage, completely lost and confused as to how exactly he got here. The last thing he remember was a bright light that disoriented his vision before blacking out. He initially believed that it was some kind of tactic that the Resistance utilized to disorient him and force him to crash on the planet below. But as far as he knew, Ord Mantell didn't have any environment quite like this. If there was anything he could familiarize with, would lead to painful memories found upon his conflict on Starkiller Base. For it too was an ice world.

In fact, his battle with the Scavenger Girl and a treasonous ex-stormtrooper took place in a location eerily similar to here... where he was robbed victory by the surprise appearance of the Millennium Falcon blasting him away. Ren's hands continued to shake before he lunged with a frustrated roar at a nearby tree, slicing through its thick trunk and causing it to fall down just short of where he stood. He took a moment to calm himself before taking a deep breath. Shifting through his robe, the masked character would find his comnlink and attempt to contact his fleet.

"Command, come in." he bluntly blurted out.

No signal. Ren quietly sighed before trying again.

"Command, this is your Supreme Leader, come in."

Still nothing but static. Already madly irritated as is, he turned off his comnlink as he scoured the forests for any sign of potential assistance. However, seconds later, he would hear a faint beeping coming from the device. Someone had finally answered it seemed. Ren pulls out his comnlink once again and raises it in front of him, expecting for someone like General Hux or someone to respond.

What he got however, was something far more disappointing:

By the force, how hard did he actually hit his head? Ren wanted to believe that this was all a dream or some myriad of the force, only to wrap around the sad, unfortunate reality of his situation. He was transported by means unknown to what he could only describe as a warp in the universe, where it seemed to play out like a cruel game. With no contact with his fleet or his advisors, the Supreme Leader found himself to be alone in a world he did not yet understand. His fury continued to boil within him to the point where he simply wanted to scream in agony.

Then he felt five items magically appear in his hands. Ren looked down at his free hand, opening it to reveal the very five tokens mentioned in the message. They looked and were shaped like traditional credits used in his world. He glared down at them as he recalled the spending rules, or more specifically, the one regarding three tokens. Ren could wish for an entire military division to show up right at his heel or perhaps bring his own star destroyer into orbit. For a brief moment he began to shift through his options, thinking up of grand plans of what to bring into this world to help him on his way.

But then Ren managed to stop himself. He was getting far too ahead of himself. After all, he knew next to nothing about what this realm would throw at him. And even so, what would happen if he wished for particular individuals to join him here? Would they be copies of his real life counterparts? or would they be directly taken from his home universe? And if the latter, Ren feared that his ranks will falter and allow the Resistance time to regroup and return to power. He just didn't know the consequences.

Nonetheless, he was still going to gain his wish - howbeit something on a smaller scale. He rose the three coins up with the force and glared at them with intense concentration.

"I demand a squad of stormtroopers by my side." he ordered with little change in his voice.

The tokens would soon vanish as Ren stood motionlessly in place, waiting several long seconds for the results to come. So long were these "seconds" that he found himself becoming even more impatient. But then, he would hear someone call from behind him.

"Supreme Leader?"

The masked commander swiftly turned around to see a squad of six First Order Stormtroopers lined up side-by-side. From the squad, he noticed that the squad was made up of four regular stormtroopers, one flametrooper, and of course one stormtrooper squad officer. It was a small yet fairly well-rounded squad, which satisfied Ren. He approached the officer and stopped within just a foot in front of his face.

"What is your designation, officer?" Ren asked him.

"FN-924, sir." the officer replied at the ready.

The Supreme Leader paused for a brief moment, almost as if lost in thought, before returning his gaze back onto him.

"How did you know I was here, FN-924?" he asked the officer as if he was testing him.

The officer seemed to hesitate for a second - albeit genuine - before answering.

"You called for us, sir." he replied in an orderly way, "We simply responded to orders."

Another pause filled the air as Ren thought to himself once more.

"Where were you and your troops stationed before I called upon you?" he would then ask.

However, the troops were silent on the matter, almost as if they didn't quite truly know. Where they based on real or fictitious members? He began to regret not wishing for someone like General Hux or Captain Phasma to test his suspicions. But knowing that he wouldn't get answers, he quickly dismissed that question.

"Don't answer that." Ren finished in moderate respite as he paced back and forth in front of the squad, "All you should know is that you all directly serve under my control. Any other person who claims to be a general or a commander of the First Order are to be ignored unless I give the permission to recognize their authority. For we are no longer in our same universe."

He stopped right back at the Officer's face and glared into his soul through his soulless mask.

"And in order to survive, we must stick together. Understood?"

"Sir yes sir!" the squad replied in loyal unison.

Ren nodded approvingly of their loyalty before continuing on.

"Your first order is to scout the surrounding area." he ordered, "Report back to me any unusual activity that you encounter on your way; whether it be unidentified personnel or for any change in environments, as well as the existence of structures. I want to know what we are dealing with before we can advance from our position. Is that clear?"

Once again, the squad acknowledged in unison.

"Sir yes sir!"

"Then you're dismissed." the masked warrior concluded as he made it back within the ruins of his ship.

In the meantime, the stormtrooper squad proceeded to spread out as they began to search the forest of anything of interest. What they would find is anyone's guess.

The First Order was once again on the move...

The Slayer's shot almost missed it's mark, the shell having grazed the man's shoulder. He would get a good look at this "demon" as soon as he turned to face him - a caucasian male with white hair, wearing a dark-red coat and dark pants. While it seemed that this figure was nothing like the demons he encountered in Hell, the Slayer was more than aware of how such figures can morph into various different forms. Human forms were no different, as they could blend into society with little effort. Now face to face with his demonic adversary, the Slayer was ready for him to make his next move.

Instead, he seemed far more frustrated and annoyed rather than screaming in a demonic frenzy.

"Alright look G.I. Joe, I dunno whatever beef it is you have with me, and to be honest I couldn't give half a damn. You're lucky I'm not in the mood to deal with you right now, so I'm gonna let you off with a warning, alright?"
Dante

He would then turn around and continue walking in the opposite direction. The armored warrior would stand silently in place, almost stunned at the interaction that took place. This was one brave demon indeed, especially for one to not coward in the face of their own walking, breathing, nightmare. But rather than the opponent's words cooling down the conflict between them, it would have much more of the opposite affect. Intense levels of insulted testosterone rose from the Slayer's skin as he is reminded of a certain phrase one wise man said to him all those years ago.

With those words etched into his very primal nature, the Doom Slayer rushed at Dante with surprising speed. The harsh thumping of his suits against the ruined pavement would no doubt alert the white-haired man of what was heading towards him. If he refused to get out of the way in time, he would be met with a solid powerful punch to his face that would threaten to knock him back considerably.

For the Doomslayer will not let any demon live on his sight. For he will not be persuaded by their cries of mercy or postponement. He will fight them; right here, right now.

With swift... and relentless prejudice in tow.

Steven dove behind a tree when he'd heard that ominous twig-snapping- but then he sort of laughed at himself. Like, stars, that was such a cliche, right? Walking around in a forest when suddenly snap? Oh, jeez, this had to be a punishment, right? A punishment which involved cheesy horror movie cliches. He bit his lip to shush his nervous laughter, leaning hard into the trunk of the tree to keep himself hidden as he forced his ears to listen. If it was a threat that couldn't - or didn't want to - talk it out, he needed to be ready. He needed a plan, so he needed to know where it was, and-

And he proceeded to grimace when he heard what sounded like something getting very sick. Unpleasantly sick. Concerningly sick- Steven peeked out to see if he could get a bead on what made that sound, his first instinct to be to maybe help the poor sickly thing- but then he saw a flash of something black, and then he heard shouting. Human shouting. It felt like his fingers went cold as he instinctively summoned his shield.

He ran out from his hiding place, then chucked the circular shield as hard as he could at the black mass, the shield making solid contact - he could literally hear the impact from here, and it made him wince sympathetically, if only briefly.

Even if he felt bad about hurting whatever sickly-sounding animal that was, he wasn't going to let someone get eaten by it!

He hissed out of pain - Teeth popping out as he snapped his head around to look at the direction at which the shield hit him from. Once he saw the culprit, his pupils became slitted and his ear-like appendages went back. He then got up and lowered himself, getting ready to shoot a death ball of Plasma - but before he could make contact Hiccup quickly redirected his aim so he merely hit a tree. "Toothless, no!" He moved away and looked over, annoyed - but also confused - he was just attacked and Hiccup didn't want to fight back? He shook his head and snarled at the childlike figure.

Hiccup was just pondering things when he heard a donk! from beside him. As he looked over he saw Toothless getting ready to fire a Plasma blast before stopping him mid way, though when he saw the annoyed and confused expression on his face, he became increasingly worried - but looked at whoever threw that object. "Is that.. A child?" He muttered to himself before stepping closer, causing Toothless to follow on, still ready to attack at a moment's notice. "Uhh.. Hey there! My name's Hiccup, I'm the chief of berk - what are you doing out here??" He seemed to be wearing odd apparel but to each viking their own he assumed - he didn't get too close, not wanting to scare them too bad, but also not wanting Toothless to blast them off of the face of the earth.

Location: City Ruins

@Lmpkio

Dante, figuring he was already done with the weird military guy, completely put him out of mind and started focusing on his primary goals. How was he gonna get out of here? Maybe--

'WHAAAM!!'

Dante's was suddenly forced out of his thoughts as he got cracked in the back of the head by a cold, metal fist. The blow forced him to lean forwards for a second and almost made him lose balance, but he took a step forward and managed to catch himself at the last second. Okay...okay...so this was happening now. As Dante recomposed himself, he let out a deep sigh. "Alright fine, you want a piece of this that bad?" Dante said without turning his back, as he grasped the handle of his sword he was still wearing on his back. "Don't say I didn't warn you!!" he yelled as he pulled the sword off his back and did a 180 degree spun around in one movement, making a horizontal slicing motion with his sword as he spun around. The attack had quite a large amount of force behind it, and if the Doom Slayer didn't avoid it it would strike him right in his abdomen

It felt like Steven's brain just blue-screened. Like.. Wait. Wait a minute. What was he looking at?

His mouth was slightly agape as his eyes darted from the giant, black, scaled animal- Lizard? Is it a giant lizard? To the bearded man dressed in furs and leather and- and he looked like he was from a medieval fantasy movie or something. The guy- Hiccup? He just.. tamed? The lizard? Was Hiccup a giant lizard whisperer? The darkly colored thing was still.. Eyeing him.. With a certain kind of hostility, in those frighteningly green eyes, but at least Hiccup seemed like he was willing to talk, which seemed to quell the animal's desire to fight, which.. Was good. That was good! That was more Steven's speed, honestly- talking things out and.. Trying to not get in a fight. Steven inwardly cringed as he realized that he technically threw the first punch- Eugh. Good job, Steven.

"I.. Well, uh, firstly, I'm sorry," Steven said, though it was spoken more like a question, what with the upward inflection and all, "I-I, uh.. I heard you shout out, and- And I thought you were being attacked by a.. Uh.. "

Suddenly it clicked in his brain what the large, black, scaley, winged lizard was. He covered his mouth in shock. Like.. No. No, there's no way, but.. It was. There was only one thing it could be. He weakly pointed at the animal with his other hand as he spoke, his voice muffled and teetering between a childish glee and terror, "Is that a draaagon?"

He looked back at Toothless as the kid grew curious. Ah, yeah, dragons weren't meant to exist.. He gave a soft chuckle, giving the dragon a gentle pat to tell him it was okay. "Yeah, he's a dragon alright - a Night Fury to be exact. Last of his kind." Hiccup looked back at the kid and gave a soft smile. "Also don't worry about before- He's just a bit antsy. He's been in the wild for a while, haven't you bud?" A coo and murmur. "Plus.. You did throw something at him" His tone was more playful at that bit, but he didn't want to offend anyone, so Hiccup gave a meek chuckle. "Sorry.. I just thought I'd make a joke-"

Skulduggery Pleasant
&
Valkyrie Cain

@Lmpkio

The Skeleton Detective and his partner continued to examine their surroundings as carefully as they could, looking for any sign of… anything. So far all they could see where the trees and snow covered environment of the forest they were in. Valkyrie decided to bring up the tokens from before to break the silence. ”What do you think those tokens were for? That note said that we could use different amounts of tokens for different things to happen. Getting to one hundred seems to be what we’re after.”

”It seems to be that way. Almost like we are in some kind of game. And where there’s a game, there’s other players.” With that said, their new goal was to find anyone else that might be stuck in this place just like they were. Maybe they could find some answers but an ever growing feeling of unlikelihood for that was present in the back of Valkyrie’s mind.

Skulduggery could see the doubtfulness in Valkyrie about this whole situation. Tapping her playfully on the shoulder, he made sure to inspire her with his charismatic charm. ”Don’t worry about it too much, Valkyrie. We've been through far worse than this. We’ll find a way out. We always do, don’t we?” This had managed to lift Valkyrie’s spirits and now she wasn’t as unsure about their predicament.

Just then, Skulduggery managed to spot what looked like a large tower in the distance through the treeline. It stood out from the rest of the environment and Skulduggery thought that was a good a place as any to head towards. However, they only had the chance to take a few steps in the direction of the tower before they both spotted a group of people clad in white armour. These guys carried weapons with them and did not look all that friendly. Skulduggery and Valkyrie have been through encounters like this before and go to hide rather than draw attention to themselves. With any luck, they weren’t spotted. But they wouldn’t be afraid to fight back if they need to.

Steven took a small step back, sort of laughing with Hiccup before replying, "I-I really am sorry about that, I just- Y'know. The shouting, and- Big.. Dragon, I just.. Yeah." he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, not really sure what else he could say beyond that. There wasn't really anything he could say unless he wanted to keep repeating himself, which.. He didn't. So he stayed silent. Awkwardly. Because that was the type of person Steven was. Awkward, and weird, and.. Apparently throwing the punches first and asking questions later.

That's what felt awful, honestly - he prided himself on asking questions first and whacking people later, but lately he's ended up hurting people without meaning to. First it was when he pummeled Jasper literally into the dirt in a forest not too dissimilar to this, then it was when he'd shouted at Volleyball and Pearl in the Reef, then venting his stupid frustrations and his feelings to Cactus Steven, and then Cactus Steven hurt all the gems before Steven was capable of pulling his own head out of his rear end, and now he's started off on the wrong foot with Hiccup and his- His freaking DRAGON, how in the world is this dragon a reality?! The guilt was just barely overridden by his joyful, boyish curiosity about the creature. He was used to seeing aliens when he was off-world and liberating colonies and such, but- But this is a whole other sort of giddy excitement! Like, childhood-wish-fulfilment sort of giddy excitement! Who doesn't love giant winged lizards, man?!

A grin formed on Steven's face as he looked at the still-wary Night Fury. The dragon had such big, thoughtful eyes - eyes full of secrets and wonder, he was sure! - and funny little ear-like appendages on his head that moved to follow Steven's movements- Well, until they couldn't, obviously, and the creature was forced to move his head to watch Steven with those big ol' eyes instead. As Steven continued to walk around the dragon and just take everything in - the jet black scales, the rounded-off spines along his back, and the cool artificial tailfin that he can only assume Hiccup made - the light bounced off the dragon's head in such a way that made Steven wince. There was already a lump starting to form on the poor creature's head. Once again, good job, Steven. You done messed up.

He glanced over to Hiccup, briefly, before licking the palm of his hand and going to place it over the injury. He needed to at least try, right?

Eltariel

Eltariel once again reached out to Galadriel in her mind, but recieved no answer. This was bad. Really bad. Why had she been dragged here? She didn't need this- ontop of everything else. This pointless distractions. Even in the neverending stalemate of her battle against the forces of Mordor, she at least could remind herself what she was doing had a purpose. Every Uruk Hai put in the dirt was one less that would not encroach on the walls of Minas Tirith. But now? Directionless? Not an Uruk in sight, nor the presence of Galadriel? Her heart rate fluttered and she leaned against one of the spires ontop of the roof of the Silver Tower for support. She ran her hand over her face, breathing in deeply. Concentrate- just get 100 tokens. Find whoever it is you need to find, Eltariel, and take what you need from them. Time is of the essence.

Eltariel focused up and channeled her spirit energy into her eyes. The world turned a dark shade of blue, and any living souls in the area that weren't disguisng their presence became known to her. They glowed like beacons in the night, and Eltariel spotted some not that far away. Their forms were hard to make out, but they seemed to be humanoid in nature. There was around nine of them to the North, one farther away from the others. Potentially, these people would have the tokens that she sought. They were her targets now, but further observation was required. Given the way that they were positioned, it seemed the group of six were co-ordinated with each other. One stood farther away, not doing much, and the couple...vanished from her view. They had hidden themselves, remaining stealthy, and thus vanishing from her elven sight. Frowning, she began to scan the surrounding area for closer targets, hopefully in fewer numbers.

One successful punch later and the half-demon was sent staggering as to what happened. However, the Slayer found his effort to be rather disappointing. His target did not explode in a volley of blood and guts. This wouldn't be nearly a problem if he was going up against bigger demons, but the fact that someone roughly his size had taken the brute force of that punch and survived with merely minor head trauma was rather infuriating. Now he definitely got his opponent's attention. And as the Slayer prepared to slaughter the heretic in front of him, his foe did a full 180 degrees as he popped a sword from his back via a horizontal slash.

Being such a fluid and unusually quick maneuver, the armored warrior had just barely avoided getting sliced into two by rolling away to his left. Even then, he was just a tad bit slow as the blade scrapped against his Praetor Suit, enough to make a significant scratch on the armor covering his lower abdomen but luckily not to the point where it met his flesh. A blade is indeed a dangerous weapon, but if that is only what his opponent is bringing onto the field, then he can surely resort to his own guns to keep the distance from him.

As the Slayer landed and gained his footing, he once again revealed his combat shotgun and proceeded to do his classic "fire while strafing" around Dante.

Trodding through the light snow, the white-cladded stormtroopers proceeded to survey their surroundings for any sign of hostilities. Despite their lack of attire - as snowtroopers would be much more acquainted with this environment - these troopers remained mostly silent in their mission. No one seemed to complain about their surroundings, and there was barely any banter regarding their situation. They all simply followed the Supreme Leader's orders and nothing else.

As they trudged through the forest, they would soon see what appeared to be a large tower in the distance. Their commanding officer halted their advance as they began to inspect it from a distance. A thick growth of trees would hide their visible presence.

"Is that some sort of tower?" one of the regular troopers asked.

"Yup." another retorted back in a gravelly voice, "Looks pretty old from the looks of things. Probably a ruin or something."

The smaller trooper cocked his head towards his comrade.

"Is it?" he asked curiously as he inspected the tower's material, "Looks fairly out of place. The material doesn't seem to match its surroundings."

"Probably the result of moss growing on it," a third feminine-voiced trooper chinned in, "Or, in this case, some kind of... lichen or something."

"Doesn't look like it," the curious trooper skeptically replied, "Looks like the green has been mixed in with the stone. And it doesn't look too old."

"Cut the chatter." the officer ordered bluntly as he took a few binoculars to get a look at their quarry. Just ducking down beneath a bush, the officer would peer up into the crow's nest and find what appeared to be a woman up top. He quickly retreated back under cover and rested his gear by his side. "We got confirmed company up top."

"How many?" one trooper asked.

"Just one." the officer answered, "Looks to be a hooded woman."

The flametrooper would then get his turn to ask.

"What firepower does she wield?"

The officer paused before responding.

"Couldn't tell." he admitted blatantly, "At worst maybe a blaster or sniper rifle. But she looked fairly primitive."

"Do we report this to the Supreme Leader?" the feminine trooper suggested.

"C'mon FN-453," the gravel-voiced trooper sputtered nonchalantly, "We're six troopers against one amateur who isn't wearing any armor. We can take her out and~"

"But she has the high ground!" the smaller trooper retorted back.

"So?" the flametrooper asked back, "We got the covered ground. What's your~"

"ENOUGH." the officer would strain as the rest of his subjects remained silent and at attention. He would pause before giving his thoughts. "One of you contact the Supreme Leader and tell him of the situation. If we get the all clear, we will go ahead and raid the tower. Otherwise we~"

As he explained, the smaller trooper would bring his attention elsewhere for a second. As he looked down, he could see a trail of two pairs of footprints in the snow. He would instantly bring this to their attention.

"Guys, you might want to take a look at this." he blurted as he pointed at the tracks.

The rest of the troopers gathered around to inspect them. As they inspected them, they would see that they would lead somewhere away from the tower and deeper into the woods.

"Looks like we got company here on the ground too." the burley one mentioned cautiously.

The officer pointed towards the smaller trooper.

"FN-602." he ordered towards him, "Contact the Supreme Leader. NOW."

"Yes sir!" he replied swiftly as he took out his commlink.

A few moments would pass as he told Ren about their situation. Once finished, he would give them his direct order.

"Find them." he ordered bluntly, referring to the tracks in the snow, "And bring them to me. ALIVE."

"Yes sir."

The trooper would close the commlink and glance over at his comrades. The officer would nod as he faced the others.

"Follow these tracks." he commanded as they all spread out while following the tracks through the thick snow.

The tower will have to wait. For now, they must discover the location of where the mysterious two individuals had went. If they were hiding, the stormtroopers would snuff them out if need be.

Chief had spent a few minutes driving through the city streets, searching for a response. Unfortunately, they weren't getting much luck, as not only had no one been answering the distress call, but Cortana hadn't even picked up on any activity anywhere on any of the frequencies at all. Clearly the distress call plan was failing, but that wasn't the only idea Chief had in mind

As the warthog drove close to a 50 story office building, Chief hit the brakes and the vehicle skid to a stop. This had to be the best one. He grabbed the flare gun he left on the passenger seat, and stepped out of the warthog. He made his way towards the doorway, into the building and looked around. No elevator? Strange. Chief immediately started to run up the staircase placed to the left of the door. 50 flights of stairs was gonna be a long walk, but Chief had more than enough endurance to handle it. After all, he did harder drills in his boot camp days

Many minutes of slow, tedious stair climbing passed by, and Chief finally made it up to the very top of the building. He grabbed the doorway that lead to the entrance, but it appeared to be locked. By gripping the doorknob, shifting his weight and ramming the door, Chief managed to force the door off its hinges and made his way onto the roof. He made a couple steps forward before raising up the flare gun, holding his arm as centered as he could, and fired. The flare flew out of the gun at a high speed, reaching about 30 feet in the air before slowing down and hovering in place for a while. It glowed a brilliant shade of crimson red and left a smoke trail behind it, making it difficult for anyone in the near vicinity to ignore it. "That should send a message" Chief said simply. ::Let's hope so:: Cortana added

Dante's swipe almost managed to make contact, but only managed to barely scratch the guy's armor. Damn, was real close, Dante thought. Doom Slayer then started to step away from Dante, clearly trying to keep away from Dante's sword, and started firing at him from a distance while running to the side. This time, the pellets were a direct hit and Dante took the full brunt of the shots. As the pellets pieced through his flesh, Dante immediately started to notice a sensation he didn't notice for the first shot: pain. Nothing major, it wasn't crippling him. But certainly more pain than he was used to feeling from gunshots. Well that was new

Alright then, if Dante he wasn't gonna tank the shots, he'd just dodge them instead. As the second shot was being fired, Dante made a quick horizontal leap into the air towards Doom Slayer, intending to land behind him. As he was sailing through the air, he made another 180 degree turn and reached for his pistols on their holsters. He pulled them out with a quick spin on his finger, and then unloaded on Doom Slayer. Dante wasn't really aiming for anything in particular, and considering Doom Slayer's armor, he wasn't really even expecting the shots to really do anything substantial. Dante was more focused on just trying to take Doom Slayer by surprise
