Shiro

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Personality:
There always seems to be a fire in the young man's eyes. Even when calm or when laughing and socializing, there just seems to be an ever-burning intensity to him. This is very likely a holdover from his earlier childhood, in which he was a temperamental rebel never afraid to throw a punch even at one someone superior to him. That fiery streak has since cooled somewhat, but the fire itself still burns deep down, even if only in the form of sparks or embers. Pushing his buttons in just the right way can indeed callback the old fiery rebel in him, resulting in brash actions with little or no thought to the consequences. Otherwise he's a friendly enough youth, if a bit intense and spirited.

Background:
Shiro was born in raised in Mangyo. His mother died when he was 3 and he never even met his father, who'd supposedly left to find fame and fortune only to never return. For several years, Shiro was sort sifted back and forth between foster homes and adopted homes, but none of them ever keeping him due to the boy's temper and quickness to start fights. That all changed the day Shian came.

Shian had also been born in Mangyo but left for many years. He was also the brother Shiro's mother, the news of her passing having only just recently reached him, inspiring him to journey back to his homeland so that the boy would at least some family to look out for him. Shian also happened to be an accomplished martial artist, having been training since he himself was a boy. In fact, when one of Shiro's fits of anger led to a punch being thrown at Shian, the man avoided it easily. The solution, he decided, was clear. He would train his nephew in the martial arts just as he himself had once been trained, in that time he believed that Shiro's temper would be cooled and his fiery spirit devoted to something more positive and constructive.

And over a few years, Shiro trained. At first he only did so because his uncle taunted that perhaps the Martial Arts would simply be too tough for him to handle, spurring Shiro into training just to prove the old man wrong. But over time, Shiro's dedication to his training became more genuine, and by the time he had become a young man the fiery temper he once possessed seemed to have been gone altogether. The training had done exactly what Shian had suspected, cooling Shiro's anger and transforming him into more of a spirited warrior.

As Shiro's training reached their final days, Shian decided to give him one final challenge to truly test the fruits of his training. Every year the Tetsuryu Tournament was held in Mangyo, and everyime Shian had told Shiro he was not ready to participate. This year would be different, Shian finally giving Shiro the go-ahead to compete. Shian himself had competed in the tournament and in fact was the reigning champion for the past 3 years in a row. So between the other competitors and a chance to test himself against his own teacher, the Tetsuryu would make a perfect final test for Shiro.

Traits:
Shiro used to have a hot temper as a kid. And while much of that has since mellowed out due to his training, it's still possible to manipulate Shiro into losing his temper and becoming reckless if one knows how to push the right buttons.

Skills:
Apart from Martial Arts, Shiro enjoys making wood carvings by whittling down chunks of wood with a knife. He's also developed a fondness for camping and fishing.

Techniques:
Sōryū no Kiba: Known to some as the Twin Dragon Fang. The user opens up with high speed strike with their fist, to position themselves behind their opponent. This is then followed up with a spin kick. The attacks are meant to come at great enough speed that they are perceived to be simultaneous, which is where the technique got its name.

Hikōryūken: Known to some as the Flying Dragon Kick or Flying Dragon Strike. The user comes down on their opponent with a powerful kick, empowered by sheer gravity. It requires the user to first make themselves airborne, either by leaping upward or simply dropping from a higher ledge or spot. This ability can be especially devastating in an indoor arena, as the user will more than likely leap high enough to reach the ceiling and push themselves off of it to give the following kick even greater momentum.

Kageryūken: Roughly translates to Shadow Dragon Strike. This maneuver was meant to be used as a follow up after knocking one's opponent into the air. The user moves quickly, seemingly vanishing only to reappear directly behind their opponent, often while they are still flying back from a previous blow. The technique is designed to position the user for a devastating follow up attack, usually one that sends their opponent downward into the ground although sending them further up is not unheard of.

Kazeryū no Dangan: Known roughly as the Wind Dragon Bullet. The technique requires one to be able to focus all their Ki, all their strength into one mighty strike. If done correctly, even from a distance the strike sends a concentrated blast of air at the opponent that some described as feeling like a wrecking ball capable of knocking you back a distance and even severely winding them. But it's also rather difficult to use properly, requiring one to empty their mind of all thoughts and emotions to prevent distractions. Needless to say, Shiro has not quite mastered this one yet.
