Edgar Clarke
"Oh, hello! My name is Edgar, it's nice to mee-... Oh, alright... Goodbye then..." Name
Edgar Clarke
Age
17
Gender
Male
Appearance
Whether due to the perfect storm of unfortunate genetics or just an outcome of his lifestyle, Edgar is quite a bit taller, more muscular, and just all around scarier looking than your average seventeen year old boy. Standing at about 6'4 feet, he's a mountain of a young man. Unfortunately, this combines with tiny irises, a voice that makes every word sound like a growl or grunt, and a facial structure that makes ninety-nine out of a hundred smiles look like grimaces, sneers or occasionally, on good days, smirks, to make him look quite intimidating.
Personality
Edgar is quite a shy person, often finding it difficult to find the right words to say. When he does speak to people though, he tries to be as friendly as he can manage, although it often ends in failure due to his face and reputation.
He also gets lonely quite easily, but he gets along well enough with animals that they tend to help him avoid this. In fact, when he isn't tending to the dinosaurs at the ranch, he can often be found feeding and playing with smaller animals, whether they be dinosaur, bird, or even small surviving mammals. When he's not doing this, he is most likely making small, homemade good luck charms to try and help himself gain confidence.
Background
Originally, Edgar and his family were members of a small, nomadic clan living in the Rocky Mountains. Life was difficult, yes, but for the most part, many of the larger predatory dinosaur species had little presence up there. However, around the time he was thirteen, a herd of hadrosaurs passed through the mountains, and following behind them was a pack of Utahraptors.
Once they ran into Edgar's clan, the results were devastating, and the survivors of the encounter decided to leave the mountains in search of a new safe place to live. Unfortunately, the utahraptors apparently came to the conclusion that the human clan was a far easier target than the hadrosaurs, and followed them out of the mountains. To this day, Edgar doesn't know why or how he survived, but he was one of very few who did. Eventually, the five survivors ran across the settlement of Vida, where they proceeded to settle in fairly easily. The utahraptors even stopped chasing them when they reached it, seeing that they were now part of a far larger group!
However, even though three and a half years have passed since then, Edgar has been finding it quite difficult to properly integrate into the rest of the settlement, due in large part to his intimidating appearance. Along with this, just about everyone who could help clear up the misconception have died in ensuing years, leaving him almost entirely alone to face the rumours and fear.
Miscellaneous
There is currently a rumour among some of the younger children that he'll feed them to his dinosaurs at the farm if he catches them out after dark.
