Yasu Minori-Schreiber
Silver Gate Academy - Library

Not enough room, huh? Certainly, this was a blunder on Yasu's side. She was far too absorbed with the plethora of books the young foreigner has gathered to realize that the desk he had chosen did not have much room for another person. Nevertheless, Yasu thought it was a good call to say hi to the boy. After all, he had proven himself very knowledgeable of many things, from World History to Magicks.

"Trust me, you can speak Japanese much better than I do my second tongue, and I have been trying to learn German for half of my life" Yasu replied to the boy in a jovial tone. "And I don't really mind your talking, not one bit. In fact, I find people who are passionate about their interest to be.."

Cute. That was Yasu's first thought. However, looking at the age and stature the young foreigner, she thought that calling him cute might be considered belittling and somewhat rude.

"Highly attractive," Yasu corrected herself after a short pause.

That's... That's not much better isn't it? She realized. It would seem like she was a highschooler hitting on a mid-schooler at best.

"Anyway, you are very knowledgeable about history and magics. I can't believe you are younger than me," Yasu tried to course-correct.. Without realizing that there might exist races that retain youthful look regardless of age, or have such a long lifespan that they seem young despite their age in human's years. "Wait, you are younger than me, right?"

Things are getting bad to worse at lightspeed. It was quite a surprise how Yasu's prior knowledge base would be so unhelpful in this place, where magic is as real as biology - still so much to explore, yet definitely real and applicable.

"Ahem. I am Yasu Minori-Schreiber. Half Japanese, half German. I transferred into this academy last month. Nice to meet you," she finally introduced herself and reached out her hand in an offer for a handshake.

As the two high class individuals struggled with their order, the line behind them was beginning to fill. With the pressure mounting, Rodrick feared he may have to make an order regardless of whether or not it was what he wanted. It wasn't until someone cut in and asked if they needed help. A young man in the silver uniform of Silver Gate Academy, he and the girl beside him, Helena, took a brief moment to register who this person was. A student of the school they were here to attend. He took yet another brief pause to remember to use Japanese,

"A-ah yes, that would be most appreciated. I fear I... Don't quite understand these terms. I simply want a coffee, but I had no idea they came in... Categories", he explained. Helena piped up too, also in Japanese.

"Yes, I'm having the same. Coffee is not a common beverage from where we are, so we would like to try it". It appears their problem was thankfully, rather simple.

The nasty glare never ended. Even as he was eating he occasionally glanced over, and then checking his watch. He did thank Mason at least, with a simple, "thank you...", a bit broken and struggling to say it properly, but he said it nonetheless. After he finished eating he left... And then came back after some minutes. Was he bored? He clearly had nothing on his plate. Mason feared he may be dealing with a troublemaker, a very unusual kind that didn't seem to be doing anything wrong, just lingering... But soon he returned when there were very few people. He seemed frustrated, before he went into speaking English, Arcanis dialect.

"Augh goddamnit, I should've studied, I can barely speak your tongue. But I can smell it on you, a demon right? You're a demon aren't you?", the outburst was unexpected to be sure, but given what Mason was... Was he wrong? Or was he simply trying to insult him. He appeared to be waiting for an answer, but the look in his eyes told Mason that he already made up his mind.

"H-huh?! I'm 15! I stopped growing around 13 but I assure you I am 15!", he blushed in a combination of embarrassment and indignation. He has a bit of a complex around his height and general growth. As he calmed down, taking deep breaths, he turned back to Yasu, who had introduced herself.

"R-right, I'm Elliot Harvingford, I'll be studying at this school starting this month... Although I believe the coming week is a holiday, so I guess starting next week", he answered, slowly taking her hand and shaking it. After that was concluded, he turned back to his books for a brief moment to calm himself down.

"Anyways... I decided to start studying here in Earth, because I learned about Earth-styled magic, such as onmyouji that originates here in Japan, or the occultism of the United States from practitioners such as Aleister Crowley. The techniques found here are both similar and entirely different to that which is found in Arcanis, and I think there is a lot I can learn here", he began.

"So Yasu, why did you begin studying here?"

The young raven-haired lady listened intently. Asta was in a sense of the word, quite carefree? Or appeared to be. She seemed easy to speak to, with such a soft expression. As she listened to Ultana finish, she gave her response,

"Oh, I am not so concerned with palate, afterall this is a new land, where I am free to try new things. Please, do share with me what it is you like, perhaps I will like it too", a graceful response as one would expect looking at her. Right down to her poise and gesture she had great discipline in the way she handled herself.

"I also came out here to do some shopping as well, not just to eat. You see my house normally is stocked by maids, but I learned quickly I had to go and retrieve food myself. I hear there is a delightful and convenient alternative called 'instant meals' here. I heard it from one of the other students", in layman's terms, she wanted to ask about instant food.

"Oh, but we can see to that after we share stories over a meal, please, lead the way".

@Sho Minazuki

JM thought he could feel a vein popping.

"This. Little. Shit."

This! This is why he hated working in the fucking service industry. Give him construction work or blue collar shit any day, but fuck having to interact with people - especially entitled pricks like this one!

He glared at the kid, scarcely taking note of his accent (or more accurately, not even recognizing it) and clicked his tongue. "The fuck do you want kid? If you've got nothing to order, then scram." He snorted. "What, you got nothing better to do than bother other people? And so what if I'm a fucking demon or whatever? Do you even go to this fucking school or what?"

He made a dismissive gesture, and proceeded to go back to minding the food. Looks like there weren't many people out now. Hopefully he'd be able to end this shift early, because damn if that kid looked like he wasn't going to leave him alone any time soon. The last thing he needed was to get his balls busted by some up-jumped cosplayer from la-la land.

Edward Lachance

Guest Starring: Ramyu Tal'saif, @Lonewolf685, Helena, Rodrick

As Edward went off to aid the foreigners, Ramyu was left having her after school snack with Lorelai. She was still quite a bit peeved at the impromptu obstacle course she was literally dragged through, and made sure to keep that annoyed look directed at her when she wasn't eating or drinking. Lorelai promptly got the message and inwardly crumpled, harshly berating herself. Ramyu was a bit surprised at this, and her expression softened to surprise as Lorelai introduced herself, almost on the verge of tears and slumping into the table. Ramyu wasn't very good at anything approaching support or pleasantness, but she did make the attempt, for Edward's sake.

"I... don't think you're a bad person. Or that stupid I suppose. Edward is always like this, running to peoples' aid even as he's aiding others. It'd be charming if it weren't so annoying..." Ramyu said, staring equal parts wistfully and annoyed at the brunette now stationed at the counter. "I'm sure he'll return in a moment. For now, I'm Ramyu, Lorelai."

While Ramyu offered her hand to Lorelai, Edward was helping those two important looking folks at the front of the line order. They readily accepted his help, thankfully, or at least he was pretty sure they did. His Japanese wasn't the best, but he believed he got the basic gist. They both wanted just a simple coffee, no frills, no fuss. That was simple enough.

"You can use English with me if you want, I'm way better at it, haha." Ed chuckled, scratching at his cheek. "Anyways, two regular old coffees coming up!"

Ed turned to the barista in charge, and as best he could, said "They would like two grande blonde roasts, please. Just put the names as Ed, and keep the change." He then took out his wallet and placed a ten on the counter. He'd be damned if he wasn't paying for someone's meal today! She went to go get the two Arcanis transfers' drinks, and Ed turned back to them. "Okay, now we just gotta wait for it. Do you guys have seats already or did you want to sit with me and my friends? There's another girl from the other world so it wouldn't be us earthlings just bagging on you guys for not knowing our customs and stuff haha."

Ultana Whelen - Seidoujima Island - Market District - Local Ramen Store

Ultana lead Asta to a local ramen shop that she first stumbled upon when she was wandering around aimlessly when she first arrived at the accademy. Her nose caught a whiff of a heavenly smell from down the straight and her legs pulled her on over and she's been coming here ever since for the majority of her meals. She of course went to other places but more often than not would find herself here most of the time. Who can say no to cheap-yet-filling quality food?

Good as it is, it's not a place you'd imagine finding a girl from a well off family dining at. The moment Asta mentioned 'having maids', Her Eyebrow began twitching. Ugh, one of 'those' types. After some internal grumbling and regret over not walking away, they find a seat and glance over the menu. After going through and translating the different types of ramen they have to Asta, Ultana calls the waiter over and orders herself a Salt Ramen with some extra chicken added to it. Once everything is ordered, she brings up what Asta asked before.

"You were asking about 'instant food' earlier, right? After we're done eating here we can go to a convenience store, a small retail store that sells a variety of everyday items, and check out the variety of 'instant' food they have, if you'd like. They have all types there, from stuff needing a microwave or hot water and or a stove, canned foods or things out of bags (like potato chips) and such. Instant ramen is a popular choice as well."

"My, how masterful. All so quickly and with no hesitation no less! We do not have a table ourselves as we had planned to take it to a park, but sharing a hot coffee with new friends sounds like a nice idea",

"Ah but where are my manners. Allow me to introduce myself as thanks, I am Rodrick Velius, and the fine lady beside me is Helena Rovetsking", he introduced himself with a small bow, before motioning to the young lady Helena, who did a small bow of her own.

"Nice to meet you, ah but... Perhaps we can order a bit of cake too?", she inquired. Fortunately, ordering cake should not be so complicated, but regardless the choice she would make was red velvet and cheesecake. Any further introductions would transpire just away from the line to make sure the other customers could make their orders, before they would head to wait at their table, where the conversation would continue.

"I knew it! All you demons are the same! Getting angry like that! Yeah so what if I do! I came here to learn how to exterminate demons!", he yelled back, pointing at Mason with an indignant look on his face. It was almost childish, but was irritating nonetheless, he was even stomping his feet. But after the third, he rooted his foot firmly into the ground, twisting it slightly, taking an unfamiliar martial arts stance.

"Fine then come on! Let's go-", his body was glowing slightly, as ki began to flow through him. The boy was talented at ki control to create an aura so early. But before the glint in his eyes could take a full form and signal an attack, the laughing of a family could be heard nearby. The moment Mason turned away, the boy had resumed a normal posture, the ki was completely gone. So... He had some measure of sanity.

"Tch. When's your shift end? I need to see why this school would let demons of all things enroll", he gave a rather serious glare... Mason didn't ask for this, but it seems inevitable. Far as he knew, he was the only demon he'd seen attending... Suddenly a strange responsibility was thrust upon him.

"Ramen you say... So, an 'instant' version of what we are ordering?", she said, perusing the menu. She seemed to be paying a lot of attention to the broth above all else though, based on how she placed her finger on each item.

"Very interesting. I shall certainly look forward to it after this. Hmmmmm... I am familiar with salt, or 'shio', and soy sauce as that is an import the family estate chef has used before in her dishes, but what is miso?", she asked, turning to Ultana. However she would try to explain it, the mention of it being a good kind of soup is what seems to sell it for her.

"I see, yes, a good hot broth is important I think. Then I'll have this", she raised her hand, and tried her best to make her order with the chef, who had a hard time figuring out what she was saying until she pointed at the menu, to which the understanding was reached immediately.

"So Ultana, you are of Igneus Caute? It's a guess, as you had mentioned being a miner. A safe guess, I would say", she inquired. A friendly inquiry. She seemed to be rather curious naturally as a person, but there was an almost pervasive way she chose her words carefully. There was a kind of weird feeling of restraint from her. Regardless, it was a reasonable question. It would also make them even as she had introduced herself as from Crystis Talon.

Yasu Minori-Schreiber
Silver Gate Academy - Library

Yasu could not help but chuckle to her conversation partner's rambling about his age and state of physical growth. Apparently the boy, no, Elliot Harvinford, was only two years younger than Yasu - a bit unexpected, but at least it would seem that he ages at about the same age as a human - which agains, highlighted how brilliant the boy was in regards of his study.

"Elliot.. That's a nice name," Yasu mentioned in passing as they shook hands. "Reminds me of that Poet from the United States, or was it the United Kingdom?" she continued, hoping to hook the fellow bibliophile into a common topic to talk with. Or at least not to make him think she was a clueless bimbo.. Sans the rocking body.

Alas, the conversation bait was a no-go, as Elliot simply cocked his head confusedly as the reference was too niche for him to catch on to. Yasu was holding back so bad from telling him that the said poet was the person responsible for the movie Cats, too. On one hand she really want to see his reaction towards the abomination, but on the other, she was afraid she will lose way too much point for comparing him with the person that was responsible to that absurdity in the first place.

Anyway, moving on!

"Nice to meet you, underclassman-kun. Sadly I am not in the same year as you, and probably we won't see each other too much if at all during classes. Nevertheless, it is nice to make a new friend," replied Yasu to Elliot's announcement that he will be entering the academy after the holiday.

"And as for the reason why I am enrolling here.." Yasu trailed off the end of her sentence. Surely she could not say that it's because she had this absurd dream of flying around the globe on top of a magic cardboard like a bootleg All*din. "I'm afraid it's not as interesting as yours. I was a regular off-the-shelf student before I stumble upon a book about true magic and a certain professor invited me to this academy to study it further. So let's just say I am but a child charmed by the worders of magic and wishes to pursue it?"

Lorelai De Windt

If Edward wasn't dragging people through the streets like a madwoman, Lorelai didn't see how helping people could be a mark against Edward. Maybe they were always late to events because he helped old ladies across the street? If Ramyu had driven back her dour mood with an offered olive branch she'd have miserably sulked and ruminated on how good could be bad, but the prospect of accepting the catgirl's hand was too appealing to forsake. She shakilly straightened herself, dabbing at her eyes with a tissue that had more glaze then paper product still usable and she giggled almost hysterically at the mess she must have looked when, of course, Edward came over with the aristocratic pair.

Rather then be mortified she laughed some more, too far around the bend to return to embarrasment so soon, and rubbed vigorously at her cheeks before forsaking the endeavor as being 'good enough'. "I can sweat it off exercising later. After ending the day on those magic classes I really have some pent up energy to work out, but hey, at least the farms are always ready to take on volunteers! Though they tend to not like when you work outside the lines."

"How was I supposed to know that was a sports field..." She murmured lowly, trying to hide behind her cup as she recalled a creative scolding for tilling the outfield of a baseball field. Lorelai had the feeling it was a mercy the team never learned who was responsible. "So, umm, you two are new here, but do you have any plans for Golden Week? It's a good time to catch up on the landmarks and take in the sights."

JM MASON
Market District - Food Court
@Sho Minazuki

"Does this kid think he's living in a fucking anime? Thinks he's some defender of justice type shit?" though Mason incredulously. He's picked fights with total strangers, and total strangers have picked fights with him, but the reasons had always been petty - flirting with his girl, looking at me funny, you smell like shit - never something like this.

JM could feel it all right - this kids' one of those self-righteous types. The ones' on their high-horses, who've got some self-appointed mission to fix the world or some other bullshit. Fuck those guys, the pricks. Those types always had it out for him, though admittedly this was the first time it was because he was a 'demon'.

When the kid settled into a martial arts and ki began to flow around him, JM took no notice - he was completely new to this world, and not particularly adept at its finer details. The prowess on display flew over his head as he simply accepted such a thing as 'normal' in this world, mistaking the boys' skill for something commonplace. As such he was not affected or impressed.

"Tch. When's your shift end? I need to see why this school would let demons of all things enroll."

Looked like the dude was afraid of starting a fight in a crowded area, fucking pussy. If he didn't want to start a fight just because there'd be witnesses, he shouldn't have bothered with all the fucking posturing. Besides...

"You wanna fight? Fine bitch, I'll give you one," he growled out menacingly. "Meet me behind the department store, midnight. If you're serious about this, you'd better not run out." With a snort, he dismissed the kid, and paid him no further notice. Setting up a time and place to fight was throwback and a half, he had to admit. He used to do that all the time, two years back, and it inevitably ended up with either him curb-stomping any fucker stupid enough to accept the challenge, or getting jumped by multiple assholes who decided that fighting fair was for losers, who would end up being stomped into the ground all the same.

All this was irrelevant, however, because he had no intention of actually showing up.

Edward Lachance

Guest Starring: Ramyu Tal'saif, @Lonewolf685, Helena, Rodrick

Edward smiled at his new friends praise, as well as their acceptance of his proposal. Man, today was going so good! The blonde, as well as Rodrick and Helena, were joining himself and Ramyu for a little lunch date. It had taken a month, but he finally established a solid friend group here. Or at least he would if he kept up appearances. They were still in first impressions territory, so no reason to slack off.

"I'm Edward Lachance." Ed said with a bow, though he couldn't stop his childish beaming. "Our table is just over there, the one with the cat girl and the blonde lady with the huge hair. Feel free to grab a chair from an unoccupied table and pull up a seat there. We can chat while you wait for your order."

As the group got there, they met Lorelai first. She laughed up a storm and talked a bit more about herself, presumably continuing a conversation she and Ramyu were having. Ed was glad the two weren't at each others throats; just knowing the blonde for 5 minutes he knew she and Ramyu were polar opposites to the highest degree. Maybe his niceties were rubbing off on her? Either way, he grabbed his seat and offered the royal pair to do the same. Once they had, Lorelai asked them a question, and Ramyu pitched in before they could answer.

"What is this 'Golden Week' celebrating anyhow? Seems wasteful to have an entire week as holiday, especially during this season."

"Oh, I know that." Ed pitched in. "It's actually a string of holidays that celebrate different parts of Japan based on their old emperor. There's Showa day, which was his birthday, then a few days after that they celebrate when their new constitution was formed, then nature, and then kids. It's a bit weird for us foreigners since we don't have any holidays around this time except maybe Easter... Sorry I was totally rambling there haha. Continue Rod and Hel."

Ultana Whelen - Seidoujima Island - Market District - Magumaguro Ramen

"Yea, it really depends on who makes it but it's a precooked dried block of noodles that you can boil in hot water on the stove or microwave, generally coming in a cup, and usually comes with a packet of seasoning. A really convenient food for those on their own or who don't like to cook and/or just lazy." She laughs

When Asta asked about Miso, Ultana froze as she tried to explain. "Errr, I'm not really sure myself. Something regarding Fermenting Soybeans or something? I definitely know it's pretty much a staple in the food industry in this country. Definitely makes for one tasty broth, though! Definitely my favorite after the Salt one, that's for sure." Once the waiter left after bringing them their food, and while she was mid-slurp, Asta continued their conversation and correctly guessed her origins.

Though, even though it was said friendly enough, Ultana couldn't help but feel an awkward atmosphere. Maybe it was just her, but it seemed like Asta had more to say about the topic at hand. Well, maybe not 'more to say' but I dunno....something against people from igneous? Considering the woman in question was from a good family, it's something that may actually be true.

Regardless to what Asta truly thought or What she herself was thinking, Ultana didn't care either way. She never really cared about what people thought, so another person that had something against her or where she was from meant nothing. But again, it could just be Ultana's rotten personality naturally thinking ill of others at work again and Asta could actually be a good person for all she knew.

"That's right," she confirmed with pride "Born and raised like my father and his father before him and so on. Coming here to this country is the first time being outside of Igneus, so it's been something else. Though, I do miss the mines. Never went this long without the feel of a Pick Axe in my hands."She reminisced before ruining the moment with another slurp of Ramen.

Ahhh....Ramen you never fails to disappoint!!!

As Edward talked away, their orders had arrived, to which everyone began to take to at their own paces while chatting. Rodrick was listening intently to the explanation of Golden Week, while Helena was quite enjoying her cake almost without a care. She seemed to be quite a sweet tooth. Regardless...

"Rod and... Hel...? W-well, hm, I see, so this country celebrates gratitude towards others for a whole week. How wonderful, Arcanis has no such tradition unfortunately, we mainly have harvest festivals, and family festivals held in the villages of the ruling lords, displaying regional specialties", he began to make conversation. He wasn't sure what to feel about that nickname. Rod was a rather... Informal way to refer to him, which was almost a shock, and Hel... For Helena? Well, that aside,

"It is wonderful to see so many different kinds of people here, I can tell Edward here is someone in-tune with the common man, a very valueable trait, and that a beast race would be here too is a surprise too. May I ask, what reasons do you three have for your study? I would be interested to hear your dreams and motivations", he was formal, well as you would expect, and by three he also included Ramyu. The way he spoke though was almost a little belittling, but it came out smooth, quick, and at an amiable tone that would have women melting at his feet. He was a skilled speaker for sure.

Seidoujima Island - Julys Department Store

@TheHangedMan

"Y-yeah! I'll see you there!", he yelled back. He began to walk away, turning back with an angry glare, "midnight!", and then a bit further away, "department store right?!", and soon he was out of sight. Little did Mason know, this little punk was an idiot, and would probably spend the rest of the day figuring out where the department store was.

Regardless, the rest of the day for Mason should be rather standard. With Golden Week, things should also get busier too. Shortly after that strange kid left, the food court would soon be swarmed with shoppers from a post-shopping spree, looking to get something to go for dinner, or hanging around in the food court for dinner itself. No rest for the weary. Though, he would at least get off right after the dinner rush.

Silver Gate Academy Library

@Celsius

"Elliot... Poet... Hmmm", it took the young boy a bit, he was not the most familiar with Earth's literature, but...

"He was, both, wasn't he? Hmmmmm, to be frank I had thought I would be in Britain for this prior to joining the Mages Academy, so I looked up many literary figures from English backgrounds", but of course, he was then informed he would be in Japan. Silver Gate Academy was not the only place that had a link between the two worlds, the various magical organizations around the world had one, but of course Silver Gate was one of the only ones that had an academy linking the two.

After this he listened intently to Yasu's response to his question he almost jumped,

"True magic?!", of course unknown to Yasu, this was a huge deal. She would recall an almost equal scale of reaction from a certain professor. His face was in both disbelief and some form of excitement.

"D-Do you have any idea w-what that is?! So casually- s-show me! I wish to see it! I-I must confirm it!", he outstretched his hand, standing up from his chair. His small voice was so suddenly quite loud. He seems to know what True Magic is, rather, everyone who has delved into magical theory would know. Yasu hopefully has been given the gist of it before, but true magic requires nothing to occur. The philosopher's stone of magical theory.

@I-Am-X

"Hmmmm? Sounds... Unusual, I cannot imagine it, but it appears the process is simple and you are familiar. Perhaps a demonstration sometime would be preferrable?", she responded, she was clearly having a little bit of trouble imagining it, the image in her head was a bit different to what was described. She clasped her hands together,

"Ah, I think I understand, it is like a unique herb or regional ingredient then", she seems to somewhat understand what miso is... At least as far as what it was in the bigger picture. As far as the understanding of the actual ingredient, well perhaps not. She finally began to dig into her ramen, that had arrived at the same time as Ultana's.

The way she ate was rather refined, but the heat of the food made her sweat a bit faster. It wasn't unusual, and perhaps being used to colder climates had this effect on her, so she ended up taking breaks to breathe and cool herself down. Her refined voice panting in such a way would get looks from people, but she seemed to be enjoying the ramen at least.

"But truly? How strange, that we come from such extremely different regions, ice and fire", she noted. It was a strange coincidence. She began to purse her lips... In thought, she then looked to Ultana, then back to her meal.

"But... Are you truly just a miner, studying in a school such as this? I can tell by those arms, the way you move, how to put it... You're more a warrior than a miner aren't you?"

Ultana Whelen - Seidoujima Island - Market District - Magumaguro Ramen

"Yea, it'll probably be much more easier and simpler to just show you then explain." She nods in agreement. Ultana always been the type to learn faster by watching others do something and do it herself, so it'll probably best if she just showed her. "Once you get used to it, you'll see how easy it is." Blowing on her ramen before shoveling more into her mouth, unrefined as always.

"Definitely quite the coincidence," she agrees with a laugh. One is from Arcanis hottest region and the other from it's coldest region. Definitely polar opposites, fate can be real hilarious at times, huh? Asta's next question created a moment of silence, as if the girl was start to talk seriously now. Hmm, if she's able to assume that from simple observation, than she's definitely not your run of the mill Prim n' Proper girl. Well, she is from Crystis Talon and raised by beastmen so it shouldn't come as a surprise...

"You're definitely something else if you can tell that much from simple observation. Looks are definitely deceiving Usually they'd look at my muscles and wouldn't think otherwise." After all, soon as they find out where she's from, it's a common stereotype of being from Igneus Caute. Though, not like everyone there is a miner (or from a miner family) or is a muscle-bounded idiot. "But that's kind of correct. Wouldn't exactly call myself a warrior, though. But while I am a miner, It's just that I was kind of trained in a old fighting style that's been passed down in my family for generations."

Well, it was passed down in the area but who knows if anyone other then her family actually passed it down to their kids...Not many people care about an old style used by an ancient knight order...

"I say 'Trained' but honestly, it's mostly self-taught or things I remember from my dad or grandfather or books they had on it. Since I pretty much never took it seriously until...." Ultana trails off as her expression gets clouded as she recalls what happened in her mind. In the years since, all she had to go on was the bits and pieces she remembers when they tried to teach her....only for her being difficult and often escaping from the lessons in frustration. Her grandfather had old books that also helped a bit, but her style is still a bit rough compared to what it might've been if she wasn't such a brat.....

"Since you mentioned that....I take it you've been trained yourself in some fashion?" With the way she carried herself and from how she was raised, nothing looked out of the ordinary, that's for sure.

Lorelai De Windt

The strangers that Edward returned with were like those out of a story book, refined and elegant in a manner that had Lorelai flush with awe. I never knew you could be so neat eating cake. Who would have thought to use a fork?

She was rather captivated trying to emulate this Hel woman, even if she found the smaller bites far less satisfying. Her long braid was bouncing from the effort to cut away at a delectably over-glazed confection when Rod turned the questioning back upon them, easily taking her attention from the fruitless task. All his charms and suave sophistication...went right over her head, leaving her to answer him with the same earnestness she had addressed Ramyu.

"I'm going to be a great and virtuous knight! I'll save leaves, reform villians, and make the worlds a better place through hard work!" The blonde beamed happily, curling a bicep proudly and smacking the flexed muscle to release a hearty sound that would have emasculated less fit patrons nearby, only to undercut the statement by smearing glaze over her uniform's sleeve. It was clear she wanted to lick it off, only to eye her present company in a moment of rare self awareness and opt to rub at it with a napkin furiously. Now it was a sleeve both glazed and littered with shreds of paper product. Giving up in a huff she choose to forget the mess existed at all and smiled to the table.

"Besides, it's not like I could have a normal life. The De Windt's are fated for this life, I've just got a brighter view on it then most...so, Ed and Ramyu, what are you looking forward to? Adventure?"

Edward Lachance

Guest Starring: Ramyu Tal'saif, @Lonewolf685, Helena, Rodrick

Edward listened intently to the other people speak after his little rambling session, eager to hear his new acquaintances thoughts on both Japanese culture and also Earth culture, seeing as he had both people from Arcanis and someone who was from Earth, but may not have been Japanese. Helena and Lorelai were too busy eating to pitch in, so Rodrick said a little bit about his experience in Arcanis in regards to holidays. His speech was a little bit... demeaning, it was clear to Edward that Rodrick wasn't used to speaking to a 'commoner' even if Ed himself was quite wealthy. He simply didn't give off that vibe. Ed figured it was probably not intentional, and Rod was simply speaking in the way he usually did. Ed wasn't too torn up about it, and Ramyu... well, she knew this kind of guy, and hated him, but she didn't say it. At least not yet.

Then Rodrick turned the floor back to Edward, Lorelai and Ramyu. He was interested in their reasons for studying here. Lorelai went first, with a cute, earnest answer and a mention of fate and family. Edward chuckled.

"Speaking of fate, I actually enrolled here on accident. I just wanted to study abroad in Japan, but I applied here and managed to trick them into thinking I have magic powers or something haha. But now that I'm here, I definitely wanna make the world a better place. Not everyone has the luck I do." Edward said, a tiny bit embarrassed at admitting he had gotten here entirely by chance, and also bearing his dreams for the future. Ramyu followed up, presumably to try and save him from any awkward questions.

"I just wanted to get away from the old man, and all of the violence. I'm not sure if I have the skills to do anything else, but at the least I'm being given a break."

Rodrick was quite taken aback by the surprising answer from Edward, he was conflicted on what to think about it. Trick them? What manner of ability must he have to do that? Does this mean he doesn't actually have magical aptitude? He wondered for the school, it seemed this normal person had found his way into this establishment, yet he wanted to find for himself. What did he use to do it? Must he be some master of sleight of hand perhaps? He mentioned luck too, was he simply lucky then? The questions would not be answered... For now.

"I... I see, that is quite interesting... Hmmm... Do you have any plans after this? I wish you to show me around the school", he proposed. All the while Helena took notice of Lorelai's mannerisms, perhaps she was being polite in... Her own way, but with how poorly she was imitating the mannerisms, Helena could not help but feel she was being mocked. A silent anger began to rise within her.

"Yes... That would be a fine idea, perhaps Lorelai here can accompany me too. I'd like to hear more about her aspirations to become a knight. After all, that is what me and Rodrick are studying towards as well", it was a nice suggestion, but there was a sort of restrained agitation behind her words.

"Why yes, the clan that adopted me was quite unique. Their hereditary style was not suited for Beastmen, to them I am also a blessing to be able to further it's arts without much difficulty", she responded. But it piqued her interest. Despite her mannerisms, she was a warrior at heart. As the two neared the end of their meals, her thoughts began to become fully formed. Being a miner she must have impressive physical capabilities, moreover the way she held herself showed someone with training. That was confirmed when Ultana shared that she also had a family tradition as her fighting style.

"Hmmmm... Do you know a nice open area? I am interested, in your abilities", she expressed, rather plainly. She was earnestly rather interested, she had a sharp look in her eyes, like a hunter who's found something worth hunting, but then it faltered for a moment.

"Ah but... Perhaps today would be improper? And this is rather sudden... I'm sorry, sometimes I get a little excited", she added on quickly.

Edward did not get a chance to respond to Rodrick's offer before Ramyu butted in.

"I am busy actually. Not all of us are blessed with tutors before we are taught the blade. I have mathematics to catch up on. Thank you very much for the food and drink, Lorelai. I'll be taking my leave now."

She was not interested in getting to know this man better or be his chauffeur, especially after getting dragged around by Lorelai. She polished off her sandwich and stood up, exiting the building. Edward knew better than to stop her, so he let the awkward moment pass silently. Hopefully he could work out what soured her later-- for now she wanted to be alone and he'd respect that. More time to get to know new friends, he reasoned. Once Ramyu was out the door, Ed turned to Rodrick.

"Sorry about that, she's a bit gruff. Anyways, I didn't have anything pressing today so I'm down to show you the ropes. The academy is a big place, so it would be smart to get to know it before you have 10 minutes to find each of your classes haha. I think they have some maps at the front desk, but it's better to just get a handle on where everything is by memory."

Ultana Whelen - Seidoujima Island - Market District - Magumaguro Ramen

Beastmen using a style that's not suited for beastmen? Why use a style if it's not suited for them? She thought it didn't make much sense but also wondered if sometime in the past a human or another capable race taught it to them or if they had an ancestor who was human. Or just one of their clan married one or something. There was probably a reason or story of it but not like it really mattered.

"And open area? Hmmm...." Several places came to mind but whether they were allowed to fight at them was another matter altogether. Assuming that was what Asta was getting at. "There's an open field a couple of minutes from here that should be good enough," it was at the park that was nearby but there was also a decent number of people that's usually at park. Who knows if it'll be safe enough. "If not there, maybe at the Academy?" Ultana was sure there's a good amount of places to 'spar' at but again, the same issue of whether they'd be allowed came back up.

While relieved that she wouldn't be fighting with a full stomach, she was a bit disappointed as well. Ultana did love a good fight, definitely curbs the boredom. "Considering we just got done eating, it's probably for the best. We definitely don't want to throw up the food we just ate." She laughed. "But hey, maybe another time? Definitely would like to see your fighting style in action myself."

Lorelai De Windt

"Oh, ah, I'll see you later, Ramyu!" Lorelai hastily called out towards the departing feline, her words loud but muted in their exuberance by Ramyu's reasoning for attending. Her hand hung weakly in the air as though wanting to wave and the moment passed, leaving her to return to her seat as Edward and Rodrick discussed plans to tour the school grounds. It was a good idea and Lorelai's fondness for the campus had her brightening at the idea of taking a walk with such company.

"You two are as well? Wow, I would have thought you were a noble dignitary with how you carry yourself, Hel. That's marvelous!" The blonde beamed to her female counter part, the ire directed towards her going so far over there head it was lost amidst the stars. She reached across the table, actually showing a rare moment of mindfulness in not burying her chest into their food, and clasped both hands to Helena's. "Maybe we could even train together one day. It's so much easier when your targets aren't imagined or made of wood, right?"

There was a stickiness to her hands that now translated to the backs of the noble's own, but Lorelai was too busy radiating happiness like a sunflower to notice such things, giving Helena a squeeze before pulling back to scarf down her remaining order in short order. It would have been silly to carry left overs around for a tour of the school!

Silver Gate Academy Grounds - Gym Hall and Soccer Field

@Lonewolf685@Kafka Komedy

After concluding their meals and drinks at Starbucks, the small group of students walked back to the school grounds. Normally it would actually be teeming with students, but as this was the last day before Golden Week began, everyone was eager to leave and have fun. Clubs would normally be doing their activities at this time and just about every facility on campus would be in use, so this was a surprisingly good time to have a peaceful tour.

Edward and Lorelai would show the two of them around the grounds, and soon they would settle back to the sports facilities, in particular... Edward and Rodrick would find themselves standing in the soccer field, while Helena and Lorelai were in the gym hall.

@Kafka Komedy
The soccer field was spacious, and of course, not in use. Rodrick was interested in field sports, it was something he had done as a child and to see that this school provides an opportunity for students to engage in recreational activities greatly interested him. Alladore and Garadin academies both mage and knight studies did not allow such things. Instead they opt for 'noble' sports such as jousting and spell contests.

"Hmmmm... I feel as though I can greatly benefit, from learning about the structure of this world's educational system, I am correct that all curriculum and structure is based on that of the entire Earth's educational systems? Ignoring that some countries may have differences", he began. As Edward spoke he turned to him,

"Well, all of that aside I do have questions for you specifically... I'd like for you to show me your skills. This may appear sudden, but there is a burning question I'd like answered, and I feel this may be the best way", he began. Was this boy Edward a magician? Or did he have something else? Within Rodrick's hand formed a cane of ice as he put his hand outward. It was his weapon type of choice, of course his actual combat cane was in his room, but for a spar this was plenty.

"Don't hold back, I am known to be among the best of my year back in Arcanis", he took a stance and waited.

If Edward did not make a move, then he would.

@Lonewolf685
The gym hall was where a lot of types of activities took place. Ballet, gymnastics, martial arts too, and other sports like volleyball. Helena seemed to be inspecting the area, and even the integrity of the floor too. Which was sort of strange, but then she turned to Lorelai.

"So you mentioned they had martial arts clubs here too? Perhaps there is equipment here?", she would inquire. There was indeed equipment here, wooden swords and staves, and so on. By Helena's request they would go and inspect the section in the back. There was always a few laying in front in case anyone with free time wanted practice. How delightfully thoughtful Helena thought to herself.

"Now Lorelai, could you please stand here", she stood at the end of a square, like a ring of sorts, not that she would quite notice yet. Then Helena would step over to her side.

"Could you show me your stance? Like a gallant knight?" she requested. Helena took her blade and held it in front of her, tip facing skyward, as Lorelai might take her own stance.

"Very good... Now then...", there was a tense moment... Before Helena surged forth in a burst of speed, forcing Lorelai to defend herself. They would lock weapons as Helena's face, still smiling, but definitely struggling to not give an inflamed expression,

"Is there something wrong with the way I eat?!"

Seidoujima Island - Market District
Field by the River

@I-Am-X

Asta and Ultana made their way to the field that was described, of course after finishing and paying for their meals. Though they had to go a bit further up as there were kids playing in the field, but soon they found a good spot.

"This shall do for now...", Asta turned around, she was a little excited, but tried her best not to show it, before a shield and spear appeared in her hands. They were made from ice.

"I'd like you to humor me a bit... Of course, with magically created weapons, they won't last long, but nothing more than a taste should be enough", she stated. She wanted to spar.

"Forgive me if this seems sudden, but I cannot help but be a little competitive".
