Drazen smiled. "As much as I'd love to have a battle with you, I think I'm going to save what I have for the Pre-gym for now." Rubble climbed out of the backpack and climbed up on top of Drazen's hat and let out a sound somewhere between a groan and a growl as he stared at Missy.

"Uh...Once I'm done at the Pre-gym I'd be happy to take you on in a battle." He stated awkwardly as Rubble stared at Missy and her trainer. The little green Pokemon stared down at Drazen for a moment and then back at the other two before motioning at the Pre-gym.

"Truth be told, I've never seen Rubble like this before. He seems really interested in battling with someone." Drazen wasn't voicing his concern that Rubble might be nearing his second state evolution. He didn't know if it was because he was seeing the Salandit as a threat or because he was nearing his Pupitar evolution. Either way he was nervous about it.

Sonja tried to hide her disappointment. “Very well, I’ll take that as a promise. Well then with our audience set shall we take the stage?” She entered the doors.

Sonja had never been in a real gym before. Growing up in Alola gyms weren’t a practice; it hadn’t been until recently they were part of the official Pokemon tourney league. She’d walked outside her fair share of gyms: Hoenne, Kalos, Unova. Always on the outside never in. And now she was in!

A twinge of a grin appeared on her lips.

“Very well, I’ll take that as a promise. Well then with our audience set shall we take the stage?”

Drazen simply smiled and walked through the doors with Sonja as they entered the Pre-gym. He had to say, he was impressed. The gyms he had been in weren't quite so...modern looking. Rubble looked around and locked eyes on a tall man with black hair who appeared to be directing the people walking around the gym. Drazen absently reached up and patted the Larvitar's head and smiled as the man approached them.

"Welcome to the Pre-gym!" The man said cheerfully. "I'm Justy, I'm the leader around here."

Outside Phenac City Precept Gym

“You full?”

“Da!”

“Brimmin’ with energy?”

“Ru!”

“Rarin’ to go?!”

”Maaaaa!”

The fiery pair shared a moment of resounding laughter together outside of their chosen restaurant, uncaring if they disrupted the strangers around them. Zita wasn’t an intentionally rude person, but she came from Unova - the land of the loud and home of the boisterous. Plus, she was on vacation! Sort of. The red head was serious about training in Orre, but it was also her first time outside of her home region. Neither she nor her Pokemon took the “when in Poke-Rome” approach, preferring to let their hearts lead. And their stomachs as it were, but now that that was taken care of, trainer and Pokemon were eager to get a move on.

“Okay, so stadium or gym?” Zita thought aloud, looking down at her partner. Bo returned her look with wide eyes and an equally wide grin. Of course, they’d already decided on gym! It was a more familiar concept to Zita, so long as it was the same kind of thing the Pokemon League had going on in other regions.

Bo let out a happy chirp and spun in place, before striking a sloppy pose and pointing towards the building in question on the upper level.

“Lead the way!” The teenager instructed, and her little partner wasted no time in doing just that. Bo shot away and up the stairs, this time keeping to a fairly straightforward path. Once outside of the gym, the Darumaka skidded to a halt, toppling over himself at the end. He wasn’t injured, and merely left himself roll a bit before getting up and running in circles in front of the entrance, making quite a spectacle.

Soon enough his trainer arrived on the scene, her bright red hair appearing over the staircase as she climbed it. Her eyes roamed all over the gym’s outside, giving it a proper once over. It… didn’t look impressive at all! What the heck?

The SlakKing of Phenac!

Phenac City | Pre-Gym Entrance
Interacting With: @Yankee

Glad to see the others decide to get a move on instead of battling outside, Noel took a second to start walking again. To the point where he ended up following after the new guy instead; Only to pause in his progress as he heard something approaching from behind. Turning his head curiously, he noticed a strange small, red & round creature approaching the Pre-Gym. He'd never seen a Pokemon like that before; Today was turning into a pretty unique experience for him. He wondered if it was a wild Pokemon by chance, though didn't exactly feel like catching it himself. Watching it trip and roll forward, he eyed it closely, unsure of the effect it'd have. As the creature perked right back up and ran in circles, the boy found himself getting tired just by staring at the ball of energy. What had the little fella so excited?

That's when she appeared; Red hair catching his gaze as she made her way up the stairs. If not by just color association, he assumed the Pokemon was hers. Yet another new face... Justy was in for a hell of a time with all these trainers coming in. At this rate, they'd tire out all the regular trainers and he'd be forced by Justy to actually partake. Just the thought was enough to make him reconsider walking in, but if he ran off now, that'd be irreponsible. For all he knew, she wasn't here for battling. Looks could betray the mind; For all he knew, she could be here to talk to the scholar side of the Pre-Gym. He had his doubts, though.

"Heya." His greeting was... Mediocre, but being loud wasn't exactly his forte. He was much more relaxed and carried a calm tone with him instead of shouting. He shifted the Komala in his arms so he'd be able to wave with one hand, a small and simple smile on his face.

"You looking to challenge the trainers of Phenac, too?" He questioned, eyeing the building momentarily before looking at the red-haired girl again.

"I'd suggest heading in, if so. Already a few foreign trainers looking for battles. Don't want 'em hogging all the fun, right?" He went ahead and made his assumption on her reason for being here, his smile curving into a small grin. The Pre-Gym was really about to be put to the test today, and it worried him a bit. Though he tried to be welcoming, as that was what they were all about: Welcome every new face, and accept their challenge. Win or lose, appreciate the experience as a learning one. The essence was practice: Victory or failure, there was always something to learn. No matter how good you might be, there was always someone better.

Noel's own path to improvement was something he usually ignored. Maybe seeing all these trainers could motivate him a bit... Maybe that thought came from the rule of 'things that come in threes'. There might be something real to that idea.

Outside Phenac City Precept Gym

While Zita was in the middle of her staring contest with the curved stone of the gym - which she was totally winning by the way - a slight movement caught her eye. The boy's greeting had barely registered, as quiet as it was compared to the chirping of her Pokemon a few feet away, but his wave got her attention and she turned her gaze on him. Her eyes were bright with the excitement of potential battle, and just experiencing a new place in general. Meeting new people wasn't very high on her priority list, but it pretty much came with the territory of "new place." Her flame-colored irises looked up and down the stranger. He... also didn't look very impressive! In fact he looked pretty tuckered out, even though it was still early in the day. Still, he had a cute Pokemon with him and he was outside a gym. That meant trainer, right? As his expression gradually shifted from a polite smile to a wider one, Zita gave him a grin of her own.

"You a local then?"

Ah, straight to the point. The question served as Zita's own style of greeting. Even if her words were brusque, her toothy smile could be considered friendly. Bo ceased his shenanigans for only a moment, turning to look between his trainer and the boy she was talking to, before he waddled quickly toward the both of them and began running in a wide circle around them. Every now and then he would jump a little ways into the air and try and peek at the Pokemon sleeping in the boy's arms. Like a true experienced, disciplined trainer Zita did absolutely nothing to stop the zen charm Pokemon. In fact her face seemed to light up all the more, fueled by her partner's energy.

"That's good, 'cause we've got some questions about the place! But, yeah, I'm here for this gym's badge!" Being from Unova, being awarded badges were the norm. The red head had only barely arrived to Orre, and was still unused to it, but a gym meant a badge, right? At least that was the assumption. The stranger's mention of other challengers inside spurred Zita into moving toward the door, but she stopped and spun around, facing the other trainer again and marching back up to him.

"I'm Zita!"

Introductions had almost genuinely slipped her mind. Almost. Her Darumaka used this time to climb it's way up onto the girl's shoulder and made as if to leap into the arms of the guy they'd just met, but a well timed movement from Zita had the Pokemon stumble a little instead. He clung to the cloth of her shirt as she reached a hand towards their newest acquaintance. "This is Bo!"

Sonya blinked. "The leader?" Her smile vanished and she tilted her head to the side. Sure he looked capable but she'd never have guessed. The newcomer barely registered for her, as she was entirely focused on Drazen. Sonya shook her head. It wouldn't do to be rude.

"I'm Sonya. Nice to meet you. If we get a chance I'd like to battle you too."

For now it was time to see if she could enjoy a good battle without bringing out that part of her. The last thing she wanted was to hurt someone like she had before.

"I'm Sonya. Nice to meet you. If we get a chance I'd like to battle you too."

Justy took a short look at Drazen and a much longer look at Sonya. He looked her over for a moment before looking her dead in the eyes as though he was looking straight into her soul.

"Ma'am." He said in a kind voice. "May I speak to you alone for a moment?" He asked in the same kind voice. He motioned over towards the back of the gym and motioned for the trainers walking around to move out of the way.

He looked over at Drazen and smiled slightly. "I'll be with you in just a moment. I'd just like to have a word with your friend here."
