As I've said, I'm curious about Guild members' encounters with the supernatural/preternatural. Ghosts, angels, demons, cryptids, aliens, espers, time travelers, things like that. While discussing different phenomena is what this thread about, I do ask that you be as truthful as possible when telling about your encounters. And, generally, try not to be a jerk. If you wish to share your stories anonymously, feel free to send them to me via PM.
When I was younger, my sister and I almost always had pet hamsters. We loved each and every one of them, even after we also got dogs. I had one hamster, an albino named Snowball, who was very special to me. I eventually got permission to bring him in to my sessions with my therapist, and he was even allowed out of his little travel cage to wander around on the couch (where he would often go to the opposite corner of where I sat and fall asleep), or explore little structures I made out of wooden building blocks. But he was different from my other hamsters. He seemed unnaturally intelligent, and on one occasion, even answered two questions from my therapist on one occasion by nodding. He once fell off of my shoulder headfirst onto concrete and, other than being stunned, was perfectly fine. But, like all pets, Snowball passed away.
It was maybe six or seven months after Snowball died, and I'd moved my room into our basement. On a night when my insomnia was hitting me quite hard, I noticed something down by my feet. It looked like a small, white ball of mist, but I felt a light weight where it was. It moved up my leg, and eventually I could make out a little face. When it reached my chest, I asked, "Snowball?" and it stopped for a moment. Then, it moved to my shoulder, and curled up, and disappeared. I didn't feel scared. Instead, I felt comforted. Like he was still watching over me.
Experienced something when I was the only one home a few months ago.
Was minding my own business cleaning/organizing the kitchen when I heard a faint "Hey Kuro" (not Kuro, but my actual name). I turn around expecting to see maybe one of my siblings home or even maybe my grandmother stopping by for whatever reason only to see no one and suddenly had the chills with goosebumps as if someone turned the AC on full blast.
That aside, my sister and mother have mentioned that they felt something kept trying to touch them in a house we used to live in, but I don't really know much outside of that.
