Pine Hills Academy has only one mission: to help talented teens succeed in life. While located far away from any town or city, the academy compensates with a large campus filled small shops and cafes. The classrooms are state-of-the-art and contain the newest technology to ensure the students have the best resources required for success. Not much can be found about the academy online, apart from the fact that most of its alumni had gone on to do great things.
The tuition is high and the entrance exams are difficult, ensuring that the teachers' time isn't wasted on those who have no chance of advancing in society. However, the academy recognises the talent of those who may not afford to apply and offers 3 scholarships each year to less fortunate.
Despite its prestigious reputation, there are many rumours floating about the academy: whispers about missing students, professors seen associating with shady individuals, the suspiciously high budget and to top it all of those who speak ill of it tend to deny their it claims once questioned. While it seems suspicious, there doesn't seem to be proof of wrongdoing or any criminal activity. The police have looked into the missing students but they never released any information to the public.
This RP is mostly about uncovering the secret history behind the school's founding and the illegal schemes that keep it running. Based on which classes each character takes, they will receive information about the academy or gain skills that may help throughout the story. Each lesson's results will be posted in the 0th post in the IC. In order to avoid making the RP boring, the classes will 'fade to black' and we will rp what happens outside of class. The only exception for this will be if a class is relevant to the storyline or if a character must do something important during a class. However, you're free to summarise what your character did during class time.
Whenever someone learns something about the academy it will be updated in the characters' 0th post so we can keep track of everything. Aside from uncovering the mysteries of the school, the characters can form relationships with each other or focus on their hobbies and school.
Scholarship Conditions
Every year, three individuals may receive a scholarship based on 1 of the following conditions: The applicant has excelled academically (Awarded to: Erik Fieldson) Or: The applicant is skilled athletically (Awarded to: Leonardo Zamudio) Or: The applicant had improved/benefited their community (Awarded to Alana Fujimori) Each application will be assessed by the headmaster and a member of our faculty will visit each applicant to determine if they deserve to attend the academy. The 3 successful applicants will be invited to tour the school and learn more about their courses 2 weeks before the school year starts.
Dormitories:
Pine Hills Academy has 15 dormitories, each equipped to house 5 students. Every building contains a kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an outside area and a living space. When applying the students can inform us of their prefered dormitory, however, we can't ensure they will end up with what they want. (only 3 dormitories are available for freshmen as the rest is either occupied or under renovations.)
Curie dorm:
Quinn McNamara
Alex Pearson
Angelica Casey
/The oldest dormitory on campus. Originally for faculty, however, once the number of students increased in 1975, faculty members were transferred into a new building closer to lecture halls./
Newton dorm:
Erik Fieldson
Tyler Cross
/The dormitory closest to the lecture halls. Popular amongst students due to the proximity of nearby cafeteria and sports area. Many pupils from various year groups tend to spend time in the living space between classes, so the dormitories are usually crowded./
Leibniz Dorm
Leonardo Zamudio
Alana Fujimori
/One of the newer dormitories. The living area is larger than in the other dorms so it's not uncommon for students to host parties there. It is rather close to the entrance of the academy.
The Faculty and classes
The Principal: Theodosia Hawthorne The Vice-Principal: James Crowter
The students can select what subjects they wish to study but all are required to take at least 3 years of the ones listed below:
Math: Taught by Professor Lawrence Harris English: Taught by Professor Regina Haney Science: Taught by Professor Gene Barnes
Their schedules will remain the same each day. Each school day begins at 8:30 am and ends at 3 pm, after which they may attend an extracurricular club or do whatever they want on campus. The students who fall behind in their studies will be required to attend additional classes.
The students may choose up to 2 additional subjects per day. These can change next year so the students will have to reapply for their subjects in the summer term.
*The classes aren't important to the story but based on what you study, you can find out different things about the academy.*

Additional Classes: Mondays: Drama and Religion Tuesdays: Art and Music Wednesdays: Spanish and Cooking Thursdays: Sociology and Health Fridays: History and Psychology
Health problems: Heart Condition - He has a weak heart, so he faints easily when he gets too emotional.
Personality: Alex is a very confident and optimistic young man. Although he does not say much, he is not shy at all. He is very creative and spends much of his time singing and dancing. He has an agent, so sometimes he skips school in order to go to one of his concerts. He combines school with a singer carreer. He does not like to put a lot of work in school and can often be found laying on the grass, looking up at the sky. He is a dreamer, so he startles easily.
Brief Bio: While his mother is a fashion designer, his father is a cook in a fancy restaurant. They both support his singer carreer very much and only think of school as a waste of his time. They only let him go to school, because he wants to as a back-up for when his singer carreer fails. He gets recognized pretty often and is very nice to his fans, but he does not like the large crowd.
Scholarship? No Preffered Dormitory: Leibniz Dorm Additional Classes: Mondays: Religion, Politics Tuesdays: Music, Art Wednesdays: Cooking, Computer Science Thursdays: Sociology, Health Fridays: History, Psychology
Personality: Daisha can be a lot of fun, but only if she knows you well. Outside her small circle, she can be far more on the abrasive side, coming off as snotty, sarcastic, entitled and rude. She places a lot of value in things like money and status, but this is only a mask for how sensitive she really can be.
Brief Bio: She doesn't like to talk about her home or parents. Her father is, unbeknownst to the school, a professional money launderer and boss of a small crime syndicate. Ashamed of him, she pretends she only has a mother, but even she doesn't get along well with her. Aside from paying her tuition, the pair keep their distance from their daughter, rarely coming to visit and sending the occasional text. They've gotten into too many fights since becoming estranged.
She hates school, barely passing most of her classes and barely passing the entrance exams at that. Instead of homework or lessons, she prefers to spend her time with friends...shopping, gossiping, partying. On the surface, a walking stereotype. Beneath all this, she secretly has a low self esteem and desire to do better. She has a passion for fashion she'd like to pursue once she graduates.
Erik has a somewhat muscular frame gained more for aesthetic value than any particular desire for strength or goal. He is extremely meticulous in personal grooming and is always clean shaven. His is rather handsome and has green eyes. He has medium length brown hair with its style taken from the most recent men's fashion magazine as such his hair style tends to change rather often. He wears exclusively long sleeved clothing, as he has a 3 inch crescent shaped scar on the top of his forearm sustained from a childhood injury. While the scar has faded with time and is not particularly noticeable, Erik has a difficult time dealing with the "flaw" on his body
Age: 15
Gender: Male
D.O.B: September 17th, 2005
Scholarship? Yes, Academic Excellence
Prefered dormitory: Newton Dorm
Additional Classes: Mondays: Drama, Politics Tuesdays: Art, Music Wednesdays: Cooking, Computer Science Thursdays: Geography, Health Fridays: History, Economics
Health problems: He has been diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder in the past, but has not given out that information to anyone and refuses to acknowledge it.
Personality: Erik starts off being very personable and friendly to the new people he meets, but the more you get to know him the more obvious his arrogance and self centered nature tend to come through. He is also somewhat manipulative as he attempts to use people to his own benefit. That being said there is no genuine malice in his actions, he simply does what is best for him and does not particularly care about how his actions affect others. His natural intelligence and dedication to being the "best" led to him succeeding wildly academically. Summarized into a few traits, he is charming, arrogant, self-centered, and struggles with true empathy.
Brief Bio: Erik's parents divorced when he was about the age of three. He lived with his mother most of the time usually seeing his father for one weekend every month, though his father attempted to see him more often. His mother praised Erik constantly for in her eyes he could do no wrong. The pattern continued into his developmental years, adolescence, and early teenage years always being told how special he was. Any obstacles in his path were either dealt with quickly by his mother or he was taken away from them. However, his mother began using narcotics and his father seized the opportunity to regain custody of Erik. Erik, for his part, has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing on the part of his mother and continually got into fights with his father about not being supportive enough of him or caring enough about him. Erik works incredibly hard to maintain his image including long hours of studying which, combined with his high natural intelligence, led to him receiving his scholarship. The Pine Hills Academy allows him to be away from his father and its prestige appealed greatly to Erik.
Anything else you would like to add?: Likes: Praise, being in the limelight, sweet foods, and journaling (when asked he enjoys saying that many successful people across history have done the same).
Dislikes: Criticism, being upstaged, perceived disrespect of anything, discussing his scar, sour foods
I'm really sorry, but it looks like I have to pull out to take care of a real life issue at the moment. I think this concept is really cool, and hope it does well, I just can't participate as hoped.
