Anyone want to play an evil villain? The Hell's Vengeance Advanture Path is all about a party of evil adventurers serving the Chelaxian empire. A paladin of Iomedae and Kinight Errant of the glorious reclamation are inspiring an uprising in Longacre. The party begins as level 1 amoral mercenaries assisting the Baron of Longacre in maintaining peace. If we make it to the end of the book, everyone should be level four. As an evil campaign, the party will fight the forces of good and make many questionable decisions. CW for violence and demons. As an evil campaign, you will not be allowed to play a good character. Neutral alignments are allowed, but you must be willing to break the law and work for evil nobles. I will not allow murder hobos either. Players need to play nice with each other, or at least cooperative. You can be evil without playing a serial killer. Honestly, we don't even need to take the evil that seriously if we decide not to. I have only read the first book in the AP, but it seems like a fun ascension to super villain life. As this is my first campaign on the site, I'll ask that we stick to official material. Any Paizo content is allowed. I look forward to cackling maniacally with you.

I've only done it once before and that was a while back. So yes, I'd definitely appreciate some help.

If you've played DnD 3.5 or 2e it's a smoother version of that. There's still lots of math but not as much as the older systems. Check out
myth-weavers.com If you make an account you can fill out character sheets for free.

I also have a pdf for character sheets if need be. Since you're new, we'll stick to the base classes. That's Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, and Wizard. There are many other classes and some are pretty good, others are pretty niche or complicated. You can also check out aonprd.com/Classes.aspx for more information. The archives of nethys have most pathfinder material uploaded. It's a lot of information and I can help more directly if need be. Once you know what class you want, you can pick your ability scores. Instead of rolling, we will do the point buy system. Everyone gets 20 points for ability scores. Then pick a race that compliments your class well. After you settle on those big decisions, you can distribute your skill points and pick a feat. The last step is to buy your equipment. All the information you need to create a character is on the Archives of Nethys. If you need help on what to choose or any questions at all you can DM me.

Im interested if there id room, though I am curious if this is going to be a discord or a forum ran adventure.

Also Pathfinder isn't that bad in the math department. Its a bonus heavy game. The rules are essentially similar to 5e with some differences. There are more rules outside of the basic, but those are more for freedom rather than stop players. The players generally don't have to know the advanced ones to play.

For example, a gnome can grapple and pin a dragon, that is allowed. They just can't bull rush, overrun, reposition, or trip anything two sizes larger than themselves. In 5e this wouldn't be allowed in general.

And creature sizes offers disadvantages and advantages. Small creatures are generally weaker and deal less damage, but have an easier time hitting and avoiding getting hit (+1 ac, +1 to attack rolls for small creatures) and a larger creature is easier to hit (-1 to ac for large)

I think I'm going with a Rogue. Might be easier to stick with a non-caster class for my first run. But-- would I be allowed to use the "fixed" unchained version?

I did want to ask, are we only allowed the core races or would a tiefling be allowed for example? Not saying I'm going with one, just wanna check my options.

Think I'll go with an alchemist. Can't have an evil party without some megalomaniac with spicy cocktails

Ah, I thought we were limited to the base classes Morgrym76 listed earlier? If not, I might look around some more too.

@Morgrym76

Unless I am mistaken, he said that as a suggestion to newer players. As the base classes are simple, but the later classes like Kineticst, Eldritch Scion, Witch, Oracle, Alchemist and so on can get pretty complicated and confusing fast for newer players. Largely because they have additional stuff you gotta worry about in a game where you have enough to keep your attention.

Any race that doesn't have a natural fly speed is okay. Teiflings are welcome aboard. I'm partial to catfolk rogues myself. They get special rogue's talents. As for unchained classes, I strongly encourage them over the original. They fixed them for a reason, especially monk.

@Tangletail You can pick Alchemist since you've played before. That's a pretty universal one.

I'm caught between wanting to be a strong yet charismatic fighter out for fame, fortune, and power; and a brash barbarian always on the lookout for glory, gold, and a good fight.

@Morgrym76 Are we using Average Gold? Or Rolling for it? And here's what I have so far. myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2255937

@rush99999 Good luck on that. Both of them are incredibly fun.

@rush99999 It all depends on how you want to fight. Fighters have versatility and different builds. Barbarians are a little more one note, but no one is better in melee combat.

@Tangletail Very nice, you seem like you're ready. You have good traits too. I'll be nice and let you take the maximum starting gold for your class.
