If intelligence is the only ability score that we can find I may end up adding ability scores like

Elemental and then Mystic scores defining the line between the control of in-world objects and then creating things such as lightning bolts or summonable shields and swords.

yeah wisdom's always been an awkward stat. It and charisma have way more complicated impact on how a char's personality than most other stats do, which is a bit awkward in something as rp heavy as play by post stuff.

Hmm, perhaps if we have the classic Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution as physical stats, we can try and mirror that with magical stats? Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma can potentially remain as RP-only things, if necessary.

Magic Potency: Denotes the power of a creature's magical abilities. Fireballs are bigger and burn hotter, barriers are tougher and more resilient, etc. The magical equivalent to Strength.
Magic Refinement: Denotes the precision of a creature's magical abilities. Fireballs can be shaped and can fly further, barriers can be shaped and are cheaper to maintain, etc. The magical equivalent to Dexterity
Magic Resistance: Denotes a creature's level of protection against hostile or otherwise unwanted magical effects. Allows a creature to shrug off mental attacks or better protect themselves against magical fire.

Names and effects can be changed of course, and really, I'm just spitballing.

@DracoLunaris@Hawthorne

That sounds good!
We'll keep intelligence, wisdom, and charisma as RP restricted and then the main ability scores will be

Strength
Dexterity
Constitution

&
Magic,
Potency
Refinement
Resistance

--

And then in regards to spirit capacity similar to milestones, I'll most likely just increase it's capacity every time we go through a major event.

If there are any other suggestions please do tell! ;D

you could refine it down even further and just have

Power
Skill
Resistance

for everyone and depending on if it's a spirit of physical char affect how those stats are applied to the world (either via body or via spellcraft)

Glad to be of help. In hindsight, it might be better to go with Magic Power or Spellpower instead of Magic Potency. It should be fine either way, though.

Also viable, though I suppose that runs into the problem of people with Physical Gifts being wholly unable to deal with Spiritual threats and vice versa-- though that in itself is an interesting concept to explore.

I wasn't really even thinking about separating damage types. more that shrugging off an axe blow using a force field (spirit) and using an metal shield (physical) have the same effect, which is not dying. Same with punching/blasting something really hard or shooting an arrow/lighting bolt with incredible accurately.

Ah, I see. I think that's a good way of trimming down the number of stats to keep track of, if that becomes necessary.

Go crazy here! I'd like to some examples of your character's spells and feats!
[STATS, WIP ]

This character sheet is simply a prototype and while it may be the actual character sheet it is very much likely susceptible to change. I'm just wanting to see the span of everyone's characters and what everybody has in mind!

And in regards to the setting, the year will be somewhere around 3000 BC, I'm currently having difficulties with specifying the setting as it is very much our past with a fantasy twist and the active existence of God so I'm figuring out how to go about that, and because of the introduction of gifts technology is also advanced so if you guys want to do renaissance themed characters I am all for that, please don't force yourself to heavily dive into history as it doesn't matter that much.

If ya'll have any sort of questions please ask as I am currently finishing up the lore!

And forgive my dependency on you guys! I am just making sure that everything is to everyones interest so that we can all have fun >:O I'm not the best storyteller but I've had this prompt for a while and I wanna represent it properly c;

And I mean that in a good way!

An RP about slaying demons in 3000 BC with the power of God, huh? Interesting premise. I just wanted to ask- what level of technology are we looking at? It's certainly an interesting thought.

While set in 3000 bc, technology-wise I'll just set it at a renaissance level so crossbows, catapults, all that fun stuff will exist all because of human advancements due to gifts.

I see. That's cool. I suppose that level can be accomplished when God is actively participating and assisting humanity, eh? I presume the proof of his existence means that other religions don't really exist? Or are they persecuted or otherwise frowned upon?

@Hawthorne
Very hard question to answer but from what I'm writing religions still do exist but instead they depict different variations of god's form and each religion has a different analysis of how they go acting their will.

I see. That's cool. I think I have a few ideas later down the line for a character, then. Thanks for answering my questions!

Oh you misunderstand, I meant it as a good thing. I'm personally not the biggest fan of casual RPs and prefer a... meatier RP, if you will. And any kind of stat system, no matter how easy, kinda elevates an RP above casual :P
