"I'm sorry."

Two words, uttered at the foot of a spiralling stone tower, stretched beyond the black of a starless sky and the white of the moisture-less clouds, piercing the heavens and further beyond in a single, solid column. Spanning out and around in every direction, for as far as could be seen both possibly and impossibly, an endless, rolling grassland, of manufactured blades of greenery, and the facade of dirt from which each sprouted, wrapped around the plane of the world, encompassing it, the tower, and the words, simultaneously. The start and the end of everything.

So too were they the last and first words ever heard by nine people. Nine strangers, humans in every right, living and breathing, venturing forth in their lives impeded by nothing more than human inconveniences and obstacles. Stopped in their paths by the trifles of being human, and allowed to walk on again by their same measure. But for one moment, their obstacle wasn't human. Or alien. For a moment, there was no obstacle at all. Just the words. Two words, uttered by a lonely woman, staring into a pitch black sky, penetrated at a single point by a towering column of stone.

"I'm sorry."

In the gap between stepping through an open door, crossing into a shadow, closing and reopening one's eyes, the world vanished, and reappeared again, almost as instantly as it had left. A moment of transition between one moment and another - a split second of darkness accompanying a blink. But in it, the entire world changed, without feeling or sensation. No pain, or nausea, or sudden discomfort. Nine completely normal humans, disappeared from one world, and deposited, exactly as they were, in another. Not through death, as many a tale had led them to believe; no portals, no summoning rituals, and no gods or demons. Only two words that followed them into their new world.

"I'm sorry."

Graham Stone, Miki Teruko, Andromeda Hardt, Ada Taliar, and Isaiah Ayaan all appeared in the middle of a street, bustling and filled with people. Dozens, potentially hundreds of people filled their eyes, newly blinded by the harsh light of the midday sun that glared down at the expanse of paved stone they now stood upon, unimpeded by trees or tall buildings. The street itself appeared to be some kind of merchant district - stalls and stores lined the buildings on either side of them, and a steady stream of people representing most every walk of life filtered past, occasionally broken by a horse drawn cart that rolled through the centre of the road.

The telltale signs of some kind of "fantasy world" were recognisable at their most most subtle, from merely just a cursory glance across the scene before them. The makes of clothes were markedly of older fashion, even between the suits and dresses of the visibly upper class, and the varying market stalls that spanned the busy road held wears both familiar and alien, and bore signs recognisable as language, but none any of the five could read or decipher. The architecture itself, too, was recognisably medieval, though with hints of modernism that didn't quite match up to any existing cities of Earth history. Most damning, though, were the plethora of races that numbered among the passersby. Not all were human, and though the numbers of those inhuman were significantly dwarfed by the peoples the group were familiar with, an easily identifiable number possessed fur, and ears, and tails, and horns, and any number of different combination of animalistic traits.

The five of them had simply appeared there, just off to the side of the main roadway, side by side, staring blankly into the new world they appeared in, taking in, for even just a brief moment, the sudden shift that had transpired. In the midst of coming to terms with everything, a feeling crept into Ada's back and neck - the feeling of being watched, and of having a person unseen standing directly over her, looking down from above, but casting no shadow upon her, and possessing no body for her to see.

Ryom Sung-Tae, Michael Klein, Aaron Yang, and Momiji Shirogane, instead, all appeared in an abandoned street. A place significantly different to their modern world, with distinctively medieval in design and architecture, but equally recognisable features identifying the area as a commoner district. Tall buildings with wooden windows, pulled closed against the elements, indicative of housing stacked atop one another in a similar to apartments, and roads paved but unkempt, marked with damage and built up dirt.

The place they had appeared in, though, was silent, almost eerily so. Not a single person was in sight, and not a single sound reached their ears. No system shock, no fantasy races or magic presented to them as one might have expected. The buildings around them seemed like homes rather than businesses, but nobody roamed the streets and looked out from their windows, even in the middle of the day, the sun shining high and unrestrained in the sky. No birds, no stray cats or dogs, and no people. Just the four of them, side by side on a street in a city in a world they could not recognise as their own, completely alone aside their fellow transported humans.

Almost as if blinking in from out of a dream Graham looked around. His eyes darting back and forth as he looked from one place to another. And the more he looked...the more he didn't believe what the fuck he was looking at. What in the hell? Monster people? Old style market place? What in the ever loving fuck was going on here? Graham had been at home ready to travel out for the day. All he had in his pocket was his phone, a lighter, wallet, and his pocket knife the he used to open stuff. In his jacket pocket was his charger but...suddenly he doubted he'd need it. He had heard some woman saying sorry. The voice had been unfamiliar...and the next moment he knew he was in this weird place. Unsure about what to do he looks around...and notices that not all things are unfamiliar as he looks at the series of characters that seem to be wearing normal clothes Graham speaks up, "Hey you guys know what the fuck just happened? I blinked and suddenly I'm here. This sure as fuck ain't Detroit." Graham says casually as he looks around neither afraid, nor really especially caring what happened...whatever was going to happen going forward was going to happen. He'd say this was a dream if he knew for a fact that he didn't smack his head into the kitchen cabinet door this morning...or that morning rather...

"Now, that’s strange."

Despite her quirks, Andromeda always took pride in having quite a level head. Even taking her Master’s application into account, or the fact that she didn’t have a good date in the last couple months or so, she wasn’t under any particular stress that she could notice. She also didn’t have any alcohol recently. Certainly not enough to hallucinate like this while crossing a street.

"Actually..."

That wasn’t a hallucination at all, or at least that was what a cursory glance around and look at her phone led her to conclude.

"It sure isn’t Kansas either," Andromeda replied in a witty tone after her train of thought was interrupted by one of the handful of people around her who seemed to be as misplaced as she was. The line she chose wasn’t random either. There was an idea brewing in the back of her mind but reason dictated that could never be the case.

However, if the world around her was any indication, chances were that Andromeda was right. She just didn’t want to admit something that absurd. At least not yet.

"It's okay?" was the man's response to a random apology after having his location suddenly change from Florida to a place that he can confidently say didn't exist in Florida. He rose a hand in confusion to his head only to feel the cold sensation of a chilled metal sports bottle containing water. He switched to his other hand and ran it through his hair.

"More than anything, where exactly am I?" Michael began looking around, only now noticing that he wasn't the only person in the area. Judging from the other people's modern clothes contrasting the medieval structures... Well he only has a guess.

His bad habit of leaving his phone behind on jogs seems to have bitten him in the rear here. This little oddity wasn't enough to make him sigh though. He merely put on a simple smile and asked a question to the people around him.

"Do any of you guys know what's going on?"

Sweat beat down Ryom's face as his eyes opened with his cell phone in hand, ready to dial the number for a taxi or an uber or whatever would get him to the hospital the fastest. Heavy breathing was soon silenced as he took a look at his surroundings while his mind tried its best to comprehend what it was seeing. He quickly wiped his eyes once more and rubbed them, as if trying to clean the sleep from his eyes. Nothing changed. It had to be some sick, practical joke right? The buildings were all some prop-up displays meant to create some kind of illusion. They had to be. However, it didn't explain the complete silence of what should be the busy downtown area of Seoul.

Ryom turned his head to the sound of another voice, one belonging that at least had a body. His question sent a shiver down Ryom's spine, but he didn't dare to answer. Instead, Ryom picked up a loose rock off the ground and tossed it as hard as he could down one of the streets. The small rock skipped along until it was finally stopped by a wooden barrel in its path. He could felt his heart begin to beat faster as he silently walked up to the closest building and placed his hand against it, the texture was all too real. Without warning, Ryom gritted his teeth and pulled back before launching a punch into the building's wall. The skin on his knuckless slit open as he reeled back his fist "FUCK!" Ryom yelled, the pain assuring him that this was not just some fever dream either.

He didn't have time for whatever game this was. His mother needed him and he couldn't waste any more time. He kept muttering curse words as he held his right hand in his other, pacing around as he tried to think about what to do next "Oh, didn't you know? We're in goddamn Disney World!" He snapped at Michael before groaning in pain once more as his hand began to throb. Think Ryom, think! He looked back at Michael and saw there were two others. "Name and last place you remember being. Now!" He spoke harshly at the other three. He desperately wanted them to assure him he was still at the convention center and he had taken some wrong turn. The adrenaline was kicking as he waited for their reply. Ryom let his other hand go to look at his phone. No service. His grip around the phone tightened, uncaring if he snapped it right there. Hold on mom, I'm coming. Please....hold on.

"I'm busy...."

He patted his jacket. Everything was still there, if this some was some elaborate distraction for a robbery they had lost the key first moment of suprise. One moment he was passing through an alleyway to sort through the meager money he had earned to survive that day and the next he was here. The blaring sun had replaced the twilight moon, wide streets had replaced the grimy alleyway and...there were furries.

He was sleeping. Or worse, some street thug had knocked him over the head for his stuff and this was the last images his brain was giving him before he bled out. That must have been what the 'I'm sorry' was for. Gah, What a shitty way to die. And what a shitty thing for his brain to give him as a last memory. Fuck this world.

Of course, there was the rather odd inclusion of other rather regularly dressed people around him. With faces he had never seen before. His brain couldn't even give him some scandalous hot babes to be his last sight. Just these twerps. Yet, they looked as equally confused as he was. And they spoke, speaking about cities and references of things that Isaiah had never gone to or cared to watch.

He patted a certain pocket again, and felt a familiar twitch. Ah...It wasn't possible....was it?

Isaiah looked at the others again. If this was some type of con or something. Then they were waiting for him to react. Then the best way to use this opportuinity was...

"My greatest trick yet!" Isaiah exlaimed, flailing his hands wildily in the air. Grinning victorious "I have transported these four citizens to a whole other world! Suck it David Blaine!"

"Alright smartass where the fuck are we then?! Why the fuck are we even here?! I don't exactly appreciate actual freaking magic you know. I'd like to go back to my normal boring ass life in Detroit." grumbles Graham as he stares over at the kid (Isaiah) with a disgruntled expression he shoves his hands in his pocket, and looks over to the more pompous looking girl who had made the stupid freaking Wizard of Oz reference. "I'm having a hard believe your kosher with this shit. Look there's fucking lizard, and cat people here." he says waving his hands around making sure to keep his voice down as to not stir up any of these locals. He knew already that this was real, and he had a hard time believing that he was going to get out of it that easy. Part of him really doubted the weirdo was actually responsible for this but...hey who knew he had been wrong plenty of times before. Graham lets out of exasperated groan as he stared up at the sky. "I thought magic was fucking fake as shit...god damn it."

Well, he had to be one of those types, haven’t he. "How would I know? Anyway, it wouldn’t kill you to be a little kinder, would it?" Andromeda said as she looked at the obviously younger boy trying to talk her down to cover his own panic attack.

"I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who got the gist of what’s happening here. Maybe we should, I don’t know… Introduce ourselves first? At least then, you wouldn’t be yelling at a total stranger for no reason at all. Right, Detroit? Actually why don’t we do a quick memory check while we are at it, just be sure we are on the same page," Andromeda said while looking at the guy dressed, and acting, like a street performer.

She didn’t think Detroit Boy would need more confirmation that they weren’t on Earth anymore. For the love of God, there were all kinds of fantasy creatures walking down the street. What else did he need to know?

"I suppose I’ll go first, then."

"I’m Andromeda. The last thing I remember before literally blinking into this world is crossing a street on my way to deliver a revised draft of my Master’s application. What about the rest of you?" she introduced herself while taking the liberty to find anywhere nearby where she could sit. It looked like they were going to stay here for a while after all.

Her first day of school… There were many ways it could go, but this? this was not on any list. As Miki still held her hand in the air as if holding the doorknob, she looked upon a bustling market street so unfamiliar it strained her eyes. She rubbed her eyes in an attempt to return to reality and she thought of how she got here; which was by opening her front door… which was ridiculous, because her front door didn’t lead to a medieval town square filled to the brim with people who cosplay for a living. Looking around once more, this time more frantically, she searched for her own house to no avail.

“W-what?”

Closing her eyes, she hoped that the noise would go away, but instead, she listened to her surroundings, which sounded like a lively market filled with banter and coins changing pockets, along with some voices awfully close to her. 2 boys and 2 girls were talking to each other while she stood right next to them and she hadn’t even noticed.

From the delinquent to the lady, they all looked as confused by their surroundings as Miki did, but turning her attention to literally anyone else, it felt like these 4 were in the minority.

For some reason, the lady thought it would be good to introduce themselves in turns, and to be honest, it wouldn’t hurt to get familiar with at least someone in this place.

“M-my first day of school starts today and I wanted to leave early so I could, you know, meet new people. Not like this though…” She spoke as her eyes shifted in and out of the ladies gaze. Fiddling her hands, she continued, “I’m Teruko Miki. My friends call me Miki but I like Ruko better.” With a small nod and smile she took a step back to bow.

“Nice to meet yo-” As she attempted to speak, her back bumped in a passing civilian. Shocked by the interruption, Miki abruptly shifted her weight, turning around to say sorry, but the bystander only showed their back as they continued on their day. Her guilt quickly turned to curiosity as she became entranced by the wagging tail on the behind of the bystander. She stared at it for a good few seconds before returning her attention to the small group before her, promptly attempting a second bow, albeit more subdued this time.

“Yeah so, nice to meet you.”

"Ah fuck my life..." Cole grumbled as he rubbed his eyes. Did the smartass just ignore the fact that Mister Magician said he may, or may not have been the person who brought them here? Whatever dealing with her was probably a lost cause she probably had a pole the size of a street lamp up her butt. He took a deep breath and calmed himself as he looked over the area, and then turned to the small girl who quietly introduced herself. He grumbled something unintelligible as he turned to her. "Alright fine cup cake here has won me over...Name's Stone. Graham Stone please just call me Graham. Yeah I'm from Detroit...and we're definitely not in any position to give commentary on where we are. But I hope its safe at least for Ruko's sake she doesn't look like she's use to being on her own." Graham grumbles as he rubs his head and makes sure to stand in place so no one bumps into him, or the other way around.

"Sure thing! The name's Michael Klein and I was just jogging down a street in Florida before ending up here." The young man instantly responded to the other aggravated man's snappish tone. Seeing his sharp tongue came to a halt when he worriedly pulled out his phone made the exercise nut concerned for him.

Michael couldn't just frown and leave things be at this. "Hey dude. You doing alright?" He held out his container of water that was almost full. "You can have some of this if you need it, whoever you are."

With his hand outstretched, he looked up at the sky, seemingly ignoring whether or not the irritated man before him would take him up on his offer. The skies were more clear here than back where he was exercising. It was a nice temperature as well. All in all... "Pretty good weather for jogging," he absentmindedly spoke.

He's not so much of an airhead to ignore the repercussions of being brought to a foreign place like this though. He's still confused about what the initial apology was about. Eying the others who haven't spoken yet, he felt a seed of worry germinate in his head. For now, he can just put a smile on his face as there's nothing to seriously worry about yet.

"The magic of teleporation is not an exact science." Isaiah replied with a small flick of the wrist to the rather loud boy. It was rather clear that he wasn't taking it well with...whatever this is. Which meant the gathering possibility was deepening. Plus, detroit? That...was in america wasn't it?

The white haired dorothy started introductions. Andromeda, and an academic at that. Ugh, He hoped he wouldn't have to deal with something too high on themselves. The young girl was next to talk. Her first day of school, well. She certainly wasn't where he was then. It was the holidays where he was. Prime time for innocent families She really did look out of place. Guillble, perhaps. He made a mental note of that. heard loud-mouth interduce himself as Graham.

Well, he guessed it was time for himself. "Huzzah!" Flicking a strand out of his hair, Isaiah made a grande pose, his cape flapping wildly in the non-existent wind. Smacking some fox-person in the face. "Isaiah the great! My current location of great trickstery was in..."

A thought so obvious popped him in the head. Something he would never have thought possible, yet with his current predicament seemed more likely each moment passed. "Well, let's just say. I may have performed a second just as great feat of magic. Andromeda, Miki" He gave a curt little bow to the two women. "Girl I haven't yet the pleasure to gain the name of." An apologetic bow to the quiet girl. "And Graham."

"I have a small question for you all." He gave a sly smile. "Are you all currently speaking my mother tongue of arabic as my ears tell me?"

Ada Taliar

Ada blinked. The cobbled street before her definitely wasn't there a moment ago, actually, nothing she could see seemed to have been there just moments ago. Rather it seemed she’d in a moment been transported into some kind of fantasy scene. As Ada’s thoughts caught up to her, pulling her from the fog of her stunned daze and her eyes began to scan the fantastical scene before her, she found not answers but a familiar feeling of panic beginning to rise up inside her.

She could see all kinds of people milling about, including a few that clearly weren’t human, yet strangely none of the people seemed bothered by her sudden appearance. Had they not noticed her or were people suddenly appearing a normal occurrence in whatever strange place this was? Or maybe her consciousness had just hijacked someone else’s body. Well, that last one didn’t make sense, her clothing at least was the same as far as Ada could tell, certainly a far cry from the fantasy type clothing she could see on most of the people milling about.

Actually, now that she was looking, Ada noticed that the people in her immediate vicinity were also wearing normal clothes, at least by her standards, and they seemed equally as confused. Kansas? Detroit? Those were American cities, right? How did they get here? Then again, if she was to believe she’d in an instant been transported from earth to someplace that very much was not earth then it wasn’t all that odd to assume other people from all over the earth could have had the same happen all at once. Still, that didn’t really do much to explain their current predicament and Ada’s mind began to spin as she tried to find answers, the already formidable panic quickly building up inside her.

As if in response to her panic, Ada suddenly became aware of a strange creeping feeling in the back of her neck, like she was being watched from above by someone she couldn’t see. Though when she snapped her head around to look she found no one there. Had there been someone there or had she imagined it? Given none of the locals had seemed to pay their appearance any mind, maybe whoever was watching her had something to do with things? Whatever the case there were more important things to focus on right now.

It looked like the others had already introduced themselves, so she should probably do so as well, more importantly, the overdramatic guy that’d introduced himself as Isaiah and claimed to have been the one to transport the lot of them had addressed her along with the rest of the group. While she didn’t really believe the man was truly responsible for transporting them, the sudden realisation that she’d have to interact with unfamiliar people on top of dealing with everything else hit Ada like a truck.

Not really knowing how else to handle it, Ada did the only thing she could think of, adopting the almost cartoonish facade of insanity she’d perfected over years of trying to get people to avoid her at school. With a bug-eyed, too-wide grin to hide behind Ada felt confident enough to respond to Isaiah. “You can call me Ada or anything else for that matter, I don't care. And nope, I’m speaking English so far as I can tell,” Ada replied, making exaggerated gestures as she spoke. “I’m assuming it’s part of your magic, but perhaps we should ask one of the locals about it?”

It didn’t look like there was anywhere Andromeda could rest nearby. Maybe they should move away from this place and start looking for things. She’d hate to spend the night on the streets and she had no way of knowing how long the day lasted in this world. While on that matter, Andromeda made a quick note of the position of the Sun in the sky and the time on her watch. That would be enough to get her that answer later on.

"As safe as a place with raptor-drawn carriages can be," Andromeda replied, to Graham pointing to the number of vehicles drawn by strange dinosaur-like creatures moving up and down the street.

"Actually, teleportation kinda is an exact science, yes. We just don’t know how to do it yet," Andromeda remarked with the same wits from before. "The fact you know what an exact science is, already disproves your little trick, you know?"

"Anyway, conman or not, I kinda like you. It’s nice that someone else noticed the funny business going on with languages here. Though, if what you said is true, then why don’t you read what’s written up over there? If you can do that I’ll 100% believe you," Andromeda pointed to what could only be a plaque with street names written on it, hanging from a light pole.

"Nice to meet all of you all. Now that we are acquainted—I guess?—what do you say of us taking a look around? I don’t know about you but I don’t feel like spending the night on the streets in a new world," Andromeda said, smiling as well as she could after all of the others had introduced themselves.

Teruko miki

Miki listened intently as their small group of misfits debated, though their discussion made little sense to her. She knew for sure that she was speaking japanese, but these people were not? it was weird; they were lying, or crazy. After all, the silent girl just turned her head as if she saw a ghost before suddenly speaking with that inappropriate grin on her face. Then the magician was having an academic conversation with the lady, leaving the vulgar dude to be the normal guy; she did like that he called her Ruko though, nobody had ever actually said that before.

Taking a step towards Graham, she intended to ask him something but as she looked at his jacket, her eyes caught a red flash behind him in the distance, grabbing her attention completely. She casually walked to and past Graham in the middle of Andromeda’s request, utterly unaware of her words.

As she walked forward, a small market stall selling a multitude of fruits, including a small batch of strawberries came into her vision. Sitting behind the stall was a sleek looking woman with pointy ears coated in ginger colored hair. The look she gave Miki upon noticing a potential customer was shifty, but that only encouraged Miki to take a step forward and reach for her pocket, which, of course, was empty. unfortunately, she left her wallet in her backpack… Which was still on her back.

Smile on her face and hand reaching behind her, she slid the backpack from her shoulders and reached inside of it, finding the wallet in mere seconds. Looking at the lady in front of her, she reached out her hand filled with a 500 yen bill and asked,

“How many strawberries can I buy with this?”

Shirogane Momiji, City(???) Ghetto

Ahh…

Wandering amidst the moaning voices endlessly before her, gazing endlessly at the tears, and moving her useless hands as best she could.

As if struggling through a deep mist

As if writhing in the midst of a bad dream.

That time … that place 3 years ago. Though time had passed, Momiji felt as if she had not moved from her frightened self, desensitized to what was before her. She could not even cry at her family’s funeral. The scared girl who retreated into herself. Into the passion that her father had drilled into her all these years.

She couldn’t stop.

She wouldn’t stop.

Stopping would mean abandoning her family further.

Momiji’s memories were tender fragments; countless memories draped in red and black hues. She could not remember the events of that day, though she could only live through its aftermath. She’d always try to avert her gaze from them, but today she saw them and the feelings that came along with it.

And try as she might avoid gazing upon these memories, she couldn’t help but remember them when she was all alone. Like she should have been on that train returning home from a well-earned win.

Momiji wiped away the sleep from her eyes. She was incredibly tired. Overwhelmingly so. As if she had woke up from a long, deep sleep.

“Why is this person yelling? Why are there so many foreigners around here?” Momiji thought to herself in her groggy state. She could not remember how or why she was here. The architecture did not remind her of anywhere she had ever been, though Momiji was always a city girl who grew up in a suburb off the side of a major city.

Even so, though these houses did seem slogged together, these houses did not look like they were Japanese. If fact, she recalled a memory of watching a western-theme show on the television as a child, side by side with her brother as they fought over who would get to be the hero when they played pretend later.

“Did I get off at the wrong stop? Where am I?” Momiji inquired under her breath, not really sure as to what was occurring. For someone like her who had not the slightest idea where she was, nor the frame of reference to understand where she was, she was simply confused. She simply remembered boarding the train heading towards downtown where she would transfer at the station and head back to her uncle's house, closing her eyes for a simple moment before the transfer, then opening them once again to see a completely different scene before her.

She felt as though something was wrong; that something was terribly wrong. However, she could not put her finger on the nature of this feeling. Of course, someone who woke up from what they presumed to be a nap on the subway, only to find herself in a strange setting, would likely feel that there was something terrible going on here.

Though these strange foreigners who were yelling were, in fact, strange, she had her bokken with her, wrapped in a protective cloth to prevent it from the weather and from scratching it outside of her training. Hanging off the drawn string that sealed the cloth over the wood was a small horse mascot that seemed all the rage with the kids; perhaps a bit childish to the cool beauty that one might expect. However, she did not believe that would be necessary. She would rather leave before things became violent.

She didn't want to be in the situation of being around angry, presumably violent foreigners. Sticking to the wall and standing out by her merit alone was the creed to which what Momiji lived by. She was not a people person by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, despite participating in sports and clubs, they were merely a means to advance her goal. The social aspect was irrelevant to her.

“I don’t see why I would owe you my name when you did nothing to earn it,” Momiji coldly told the aggressive individual. “It is customary that one would grant there own name before demanding it of another. Unless you were not taught manners. I don't have time for this matter.”

Perhaps to some, it would seem that she was intimidating the man. However, she simply did not wish to speak with someone she had only just met and was actively “hostile-sounding”. She owed this individual no favors, and she felt this would lead to the path of letting her go home and study.

...Study?

'Wait, did I leave my bag on the train!?!'

This thought froze her face into a deep scowl that one might misinterpret as contempt.

"Issat a joke, missy?" the woman retorted, her initially wary expression readily transformed into a scowl at both Miki, and the paper she held. One of her hands raised to adjust the pair of wire framed glasses that had begun to crest over her nose, behind which she glanced from the girl in front of her, to the rest of the group stood in front of her stall, and as if to prove a point, pulled a silver coin, marked with the iconography of some silhouetted figure. "I seen bills 'efore, they ain't looked like that, and you's lot certainly ain't the people who'd be carryin' 'em. Portion's three silver, show me you actually got some money to ya' name, or take ya' friends and get outta the way. Blockin' me view to the street."

Whatever language she spoke, all five of the individuals she directed the words towards understand what she said, clearly in spite of her obvious foreign nature, though the language that covered her stall, and the small boards in front of the her various products, still remained unreadable. One of her two evidently canine ears, which under ordinary circumstances would have been expected to sit atop the head of a wolf, twitched in response to an insect which flew beside it, all the while her eyes remained watching the group, and the coin she produced quickly vanished again into an upper pocket. At a detailed look, her stall was a majority fruit and vegetable products, all of which were recognisable to the group. Besides a small basket of strawberries, and another of lemons, the rest of the products were more simplistic, consisting of apples, potatoes, and other standard, less luxurious produce. For the height of the sun, and the fullness of her stall, she seemed to have been having a slow day of trade.

As the group conversed between themselves, their discussion, attitude, and sense of dress seemed to attract some attention. Nothing serious, and in no way similar to a crowd of any kind, but to a person like Isaiah, he could easily feel eyes upon them, if only a few pairs. People were looking at them, some intrigued and others suspicious, mostly out of nearby merchants to the woman Miki had approached, but one or two passersby appeared to also have had their gazes drawn. For Ada, the feeling of being watched only increased, multiplied by the ever-present sensation that had greeted her upon arrival, and had not dulled a single second since. They were alien to the area, and that out-of-place feeling only grew with every passing moment.

"The vagueness of not knowing it is the non-exact part of it Andromeda." All people prone to the belief of science did tend to falter this way in their conversations. Nothing he wasn't use to. Sometimes they were the easiest to decieve, so staunch in their own devotions of reality. Isaiah gave a glance over of the fantasty surroundings. Some would have broken with this mere transportation, yet she seemed calm. How interesting.

Ada gave a wide grin to him as she introduced herself. Isaiah assumed she was just a tad ugly when she was smiling. Though the gestures and all. She wasn't....copying him was she? Isaiah opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by Andromeda.

Oh great, he was liked by the academic. Truly things were looking up for him now. Still, it was true. Their words were being live translated into something he could understand. That was...useful? He supposed it might be worse off to try and communicate with someone in a foreign tongue. But as he looked towards the sign she pointed at. He came to the realization that neither of them understood the writings. Damn, he had hoped it was just him. This wasn't too much of a burden at the moment, a one eyed man in a world of the blind is still king.

Andromeda suggested scouting the local area, a fair request. Even if she had the smile of an accountant. No matther the far future of their situation, he had a feeling it was better to take this one hour at a time. He looked at the group to give acknowledment bef- where was the girl?

He scanned the area, spotting her going to a fruit stall. He grinded his teeth, they had barely gotten past saying eachothers names before she had gone to wander off. He'd rather she show her potential for use before doing that. As he raced up to catch up to her, Miki had already produce some of her country's currency to buy some fruit. Rookie error. If she had been listening and realised the writing was different then it was certain the currency would most likely be too.

He felt the hairs on his neck raise a little bit. What she had done was basically shoot a flare in the air that she and (by an unfornunate extension for now) them were basically lost tourists who seemed to be flaunting their money without any idea of the exchange rate. (Not that he thought there was an actual exhange rate between the yen and the slivers.) If he was in the crowd, he'd be licking his lips at how easy a target they looked like. And there were a lot worse people then him with worse ideas in this city he bet.

Isaiah placed his hands on Miki's shoulders, a gentle but firm grasp that began to lean Miki away from the stall. "Miki...What have I told you about trying to prank the stalls? You've already used up your allowance of silver this week." He looked up to the stallkeeper with an apologising look. "I'm sorry about my sister. You know what we were like at that age, ha-ha. We don't want to block your beautiful face from the sun any longer" He gave his usual wink and smile before again, trying to guide Miki back towards the center of the group. "Let's head back to our home, shall we Miki?"

"Look Miss Fancy pants if you wanna scout around sure...not like we have any better ideas. And quite frankly I can talk from experience saying travelling in a group is far more important in areas you don't know. People get scared of picking on people with friends." Graham says as he waits for the magic man of mystery to drag back cute little Ruko to their side as he looks around. "Look I don't know how to put this otherwise...but we're going get screwed over if we don't find somewhere to sleep by tonight. We're not exactly citizens of this place so unless you fancy becoming the newly homeless that should be our first order of business after taking a look around. Maybe the slums around this place has some empty warehousing we can use." he suggests thinking of the first thing he can think of that wouldn't require money as he noticed Ruko trying to pay for something but get dragged away while he was talking.

—Andromeda Hardt—
Andromeda couldn’t help but groan at the sight of what just happened. "Ok, now more than ever, is a good time for us to get going. Before we attract any more unwanted attention," she said as Mister Magic Man attempted to coax Miki back to them. At least someone else here seemed to understand that painting themselves as gullible strangers was a bad idea.

Well, at least they got some valuable information out of it. Like the fact that gold and silver were standard currencies in this world.

And then, Graham had to make his opinion known again…

"Wha—!? Are you nuts?" Andromeda replied in frank disbelief of what he suggested. "It might be ok for you but I’m not feeling like spending the night in an abandoned shack in some dirty slums," she said, bringing a hand to her waist.

"Our first order of business is to find a pawn shop or some other place where we can make some quick money. That’ll help us get a hold of this place’s monetary system and maybe some other information as well if we are lucky," Andromeda said as Isaiah returned with Miki. "I’m sure Mister Magic Man here will agree with it, right? If push comes to shove, he might even be able to pull one of his ‘tricks’ to help us," she said as a cheeky smile came to her face.
