Looking at the bill in her hand, Miki frowned as she and Isaiah returned to the group of now familiar faces. She really wanted those strawberries and could have easily convinced that rude merchant to take her money... probably. Though as she surveyed her surroundings, she noticed the eyes on her and her brother. It was unsettling enough to make Miki move closer to Isaiah, hoping to hide behind him so though it was a shame to leave the strawberries behind, it was probably for the best to leave this place sooner rather than later, which Andromeda and Graham agreed with.

“I prefer Miss Andromeda’s plan, but what would we sell? I only have my backpack with school supplies." She inquired as she patted her backpack before looking at isaiah with intrique. "If my brother here can use some cool tricks, why don’t we let him deal with it? I wanna see what his magic looks like. Or maybe we do both?”

"Fine whatever but I'm not selling my cell phone so I got pretty much nothing to give you. I can think of a dozen different things to do with it. Light, pictures, and the like. Yeah its got a battery but I'm going to use it sparingly. Besides they still may work for calling each other." Graham said ignoring Miss Fancy pant's own assorted bullshit she seemed more intent on finding somewhere to sell stuff. Bad idea in his own opinion. "By the way...quick little chink in our plans here...we have no idea how currency works. Unless we find a good honest person to help us. We're pretty fucked and something of value could get us scammed." Graham says rather bluntly.

Old habits were digging themselves deep as Ryom tried to simultaneously deal with what was happening around him and thinking of ways to get back home. Like a trapped dog, he wanted to bite and claw his way out but that was not the way to do this. Ryom took several deep breaths, slowly releasing the grip on his phone. Ryom shook his head and laughed once as Micheal said where his name and where he was from. It wasn't that he didn't believe him, it just meant this was way worse than he thought. He looked up at him then down at the water "Thanks." He gritted his teeth as he accepted the water before taking a large gulp. After he was done, he handed it back to Michael "And no. I'm not" What the hell was he supposed to do? Florida!?! None of this made sense at all.

His attention shifted to Momiji as she spoke up, his eyebrows furrowing at her tone as he straightened back up. Perfect. His eyes darted to the bokken, even though it was wrapped up he had seen it enough times to identify it. Perhaps she was a stuck-up, rich girl that liked to believe she was above everyone else. Perhaps they were simply misunderstanding each other. He didn't have time nor the patience to figure it out "Ryom Sung-Tae. Seoul, South Korea." He uttered, his muscles in his face tightening with each word. There wasn't time to argue right now when he had to get back from wherever this was. Think, Ryom. Think! Absentmindedly, he began to bounce his right leg. Fuck. He kept on muttering quietly to himself, the pain in his hand numbing out.

However, the longer they remained in this silent ghetto the more he began to feel uneasy. It didn't matter where or when they were right now, a place like this is not somewhere you want to be lingering for too long. That much he knew "We need to find someone, anyone, and ask what the hell is going on right now. I don't have time to wait around." With that, he began to walk down one of the small streets through the houses not waiting on the others to give him a response. Time was running out. Or maybe time was stopped? This could be the end of the world for all he knew! That wouldn't stop him from pressing forward. They got here somehow so there had to be a way back. He wouldn't accept anything else. He would find a way back, no matter what. Whatever the cost.

Having successfully moved back to the group, Isaiah sighed slightly as Graham and Andromeda bickered, He already wanted them to put a sock in it. And Miki hadn't realised to give personal space again, She wasn't going to keep sticking to him was she? Ugh.

Andromeda raising the point of trying to find a pawn shop was a good one, if they could find something of value to sell. He did raise an eyebrow at her smile though as she called him magic man. A mental message of 'ha-ha, shush you accountant' passed between the two as Miki and Graham spoke. Was Miki stucking with this brother thing, he hoped he hadn't set off some unknown dead brother flag with her. He couldn't be bothered to deal with that.

"Yes, Graham. You're cellphone is more use with us then without. Though I doubt cellphone towers exist in this place." He gave the smile he gave to the senile old woman who would give him their phones to 'unlock'. "As for my magic." He scoffed slightly, "Isaiah the Great is no simple street pleb. Would I wish to sully my name so quickly, I think not." He paused for a moment, "For now."

"But~~" He raised a finger, waggiling at no one in particular. "A portion of strawberries is three silver. Now I know my way around a stall and they certainly weren't placed as some exotic fruit. So, we have a start to base off. Human-" He glanced at a beastman walking by. "-like nature with money doesn't change. Plus, as dear Miki mentioned. We have school supplies!" He grinned. "And who doesn't want to buy the magical wonder that is a-" He produced something from his palm. "Ballpoint pen!" Miki noticed that was in fact, one of her pens! When did he manage to-!?

Isaiah rolled his neck, as he brain sunk back to a familar speech. "Patented by John J.Loud in 1888, but truly devised and optimised by the Bíro brothers in 1941! No Ink Smudges! Refillable Ink! A mechanical masterpiece that is now the most used writing instrument in the world!" He tapped it against his head. "And most certainly, not here in a fantasy world with lizard carriages."

Aaron opened the door to what should've been his driveway. This was it-- the first big step toward his new future... His vision suddenly changed the moment he crossed the the threshold; a dark sky, a tower, a woman, and an apology. Whisked away from the scene just as fast as he'd been shunted there.

"For what?"

Rather than an answer, Aaron suddenly found himself in a place he'd never seen in his entire life. It was a street made from stonework and unfamiliar architecture, barren of all life save for the others that had appeared just as spontaneously as himself. Not even having a chance to fully register what had just happened, the first thing Aaron heard was the infuriated voice of one of the others, clearly enraged about something. The other two however, seemed unnervingly calm; one even commenting that it would be nice jogging weather.

Panicked thoughts swirled in Aaron's head as his face drained of color, This has to be a hallucination-- he thought to himself silently, his breathing growing more frantic by the second as he narrowed the possibilities, But that would mean.... That there must be a gas leak in the house!

It was't the only explanation Aaron could think of, it was just the only one that made sense. Swallowing dryly, and taking a few deep breaths, Aaron calmed slightly. "I was at the doorway... Which means my car--" the boy breathlessly murmured as he took ten long strides forward, following with four long strides to the left. "Should be here."

He reached for the handle of his car, only to find himself grasping at empty air. Hallucinations weren't able to mask physical contact right? Had he already passed out? Was he dead?

"Nonononononono, this can't be happening. Not right now. Not right here."

Shaky mutterings escaped the boy's lips as he sank to his knees in despair, clutching his head in disbelief.

What the fuck was going on???

Market District, Lugnica

"Now you look like a group of people with a goal in mind," came a voice from the side of Andromeda, female and purposeful, who, until the moment Isaiah noticed her slip through the tide of foot traffic beside them, none of the five had seen before. Without consideration for strangers, or the conversation going on in spite of her, a white haired woman in a black dress imposed herself upon the group. She smiled, and took each of them in, one by one, quickly attempting to gauge just what kind of people she had actually begun to interact with, until she subtly, though still visibly, came to an internal conclusion. "Sorry to drop in, I have been up and down this street asking people but they all either have no idea what I am looking for, or simply ignore me outright, but I saw you guys and thought--"

"Sera, please,"
followed a second voice. A red haired, older male accompanied it, pushing his way through the crowded street to bring up the rear of the woman. Compared to her, his voice was significantly rougher, and though his height appeared only a few inches taller than Isaiah, he seemed to encompass the entirety of the girl he called "Sera" in both stature and breadth. His own arrival and comparatively plain outfit quickly brought attention to the sheath at his hip - a sword, with a hilt closer to that of a rapier, though with the size of the scabbard likening it to short-sword - as well as the sword at the hip of the woman, which beheld a much more elegant and exaggerated design, decorated with a primarily blue colour scheme across the hilt and sheath, and a length that easily dwarfed the man's own. "If we're going to start asking every child in the district, we might as well save time and return to ask Wisp for the correct directions."

"We're not giving him that satisfaction, Cervantes, you know he did this on purpose!" the woman snapped, though in less of an angry, and more of a peeved tone. When she turned back to the group, her smiled readily grew back across her face, and she folded her hands behind her back. "Not to take up too much time, my name is Seraphina, and I'm trying to find an establishment known as 'Altifer's Artificing'. I was given the wrong directions, but if you have any idea where I might find the place, we would greatly appreciate it."

Common District, Lugnica

The silence surrounding the residential area the four found themselves in seemed to only intensify in response to their questioning, bickering, and confusion. Through the lack of sound and people, though, the group could focus on things that seemed specifically out of place - like the temperature. The height of the sun implied it to be approximately midday, if a not little earlier, but the heat, especially in their area, was different, odd, unlike the world they had resided within minutes before. The building density and comparatively small street intensified the already humid atmosphere, but the weather here felt as though they had stepped into the midst of a summer.

"Oi, you four!" Ryom's searching took little time, as he began down the street only to watch a man round the corner of an intersection between the close-knit homesteads. From the perspective of modern day Earth, at a glance the man appeared to be a cosplayer, dressed in what would have been an outfit made to seem like full plate armour, save for the missing helmet, revealing the worn face of an older man, with a tangle and sweat drenched brown hair, and a clean shaven face besides a dense bush of a moustache. But even by modern standards his outfit was too detailed - the armour too reflective, and at the same time too worn, with a complex gold design emblazoned upon the front, and a blue cape drawn close behind him, still in the stagnant, summer air. To his side, one hand clasped around the black leather wrap of a sword hilt, with the blade stored firmly within its sheath. The hilt incorporated a d-guard, somewhat similar to something Momiji might have expected to see on a rapier, cutlass, or sabre, but the length and thickness of the partially obscured scabbard, and the size of the grip the man held, indicated to her that this was some form of one handed short-sword, and it was most definitely a real weapon. "How'd you lot end up here? This area's off limits, by order of the Royal Army, so how in the Dragon's name did you get in?"

"Don’t worry about that. Now that we know that silver and gold are valuable here as well some idea of how valuable things are, I have a plan," Andromeda said, answering the common doubts of more than one of the others. "By the way, we may not be able to call one another without a network, but we can send things over bluetooth if need be."

"At any rate, we should get going before—" An unknown duo approached the group before Andromeda could finish her sentence.

The swords were the first thing to call her attention, but it wasn’t long before Andromeda’s gaze was focused on the girl named Seraphine. It’s not every day you’d see that kind of beauty, but then again, it’s not every day you’d be taken to another world with not even a clue of what’s happening. Maybe this was their lucky day. The problem, however, was how to approach the question without making them seem suspicious.

"Don’t worry, you aren’t bothering us at all. I’m Andromeda, it’s a pleasure meeting you," Andromeda said, leading up in a friendly tone. She abstained from introducing the others, since they weren’t acquainted enough for that yet. "Sadly, we are travelers from far away, so we don’t know the city very well. However, I don’t see any harm in helping you look for it. If you want it, of course."

Ryom listened to the ramblings of the last member of their small group to speak as he walked away, but didn't turn his head around to look. His desperate attempt to rationalize the situation followed by his breakdown annoyed him to high hell. The idea that this could be any kind of permanent situation would not be entertained in the slightest. He would never accept it. The most important person to him was likely dying, waiting for her only son to come to her side. To hold her hand and tell her its going to be okay. Everything was going to be okay. He was going to make it home no matter what.

While he wasn't completely calmed down, his blood was still burning as he stepped down the cobbled path. However, it was impossible not to notice the burden of the humid, enveloping heat making the costume he had been wearing for the convention almost unbearable. The heat was getting to him so much that he couldn't even think of who he was supposed to be anyway, only that Tae had loved the show the character came from. Any further thoughts were thrown to the side as a heavily-armored man rounded the corner of a building, making him stop dead in his tracks. Here he thought that Tae had gone all out on their cosplay outfits. On a more serious note, the man looked like he certainly meant business and his attire didn't suggest it was merely for show.

Ryom had grown up what most would consider the rough parts of town. Living in a place like that, you almost had to develop a sense for danger. Between the uniform and authoritative tone, he made a guess that whoever it was some kind of law enforcement. Royal Army? Off-limits? Where the hell did they end up? This certainly didn't look good for him, or the others that arrived here just like he did. He didn't have time to be throw in some dungeon or whatever kind of prison system they had in this weird place. "We were on our way home when there was this large flash of light! The next thing we know we're here! My mother...she's very ill right now and I have to get back to her, sir!" He added an additional flair of fear and hysteria to his voice. He had gained quite a bit of practice with his acting from run-ins with the police to dealing with crowds during performances. The muscles in his legs began to tense, waiting to see how the knight-looking guy reacted.

Michael Klein

Michael belatedly realized that the group of people he's with is a colorful and possibly problematic one. He shook his container of water and judged that it had around a third left before it ran dry.

The lady seems to be a bit cold in his eyes, and a little mean, but that's fine. There's a man who seems to be having a mental breakdown all while ignoring everything around him, but that's fine. Then there's the last man who drank his water who seems to be suffering from frayed nerves, but that's all okay.

Last but not least, a guy who looks like he came out of a medieval show. A tried and true soldier of a kingdom with an air of dignity around him that almost garnered an appreciative whistle out of Michael. Thankfully, Ryom decided to chat up the experienced man. He really had no idea how to answer him exactly.

"Yo!" He placed his hand on the one who seemed to be looking the worst - the man who fell to his knees in shock. "You want some water as well? I still got enough for you to take a nice big gulp." He hopes that his smile is enough to make the man relax a bit.

While he was smiling his thoughts were slightly tumultuous. He can try to smile, but it doesn't mean he's completely putting off all this mystery and stuff. Ripped from where he was previously and dumped in here with no warning whatsoever. There are many ways one could react to this, so Michael just took the positive approach.

If there's a way in, there's a way out.

Ada Taliar

An altercation had occurred between one of their group and a local merchant. Nothing major, the youngest girl, Miki, had simply attempted to purchase some fruit with earth currency and the merchant thinking it a bad prank had gotten annoyed. The situation had already been resolved by Isaiah from the looks of things, though it did raise the question of whether they would even safely eat this world's food. That was a worrying thought, yet another thing to freak out over, though in this case, one to freak out about later once the more pressing issues had come to pass. More worrying, at least as far as Ada was concerned, was the attention the commotion had drawn their way. The group looked a little out of place, to say the least, and that was before they'd drawn attention to themselves. Now that people had noticed them, people were beginning to look at the group, their gazes seeming to itch against Ada’s skin, working to redouble her internal panic. She really didn't want to be here any longer.

Locking eyes with one such passerby, Ada initiated a staredown with them, doing her damned best to unnerve him until only a few moments later when he turned away and left. Still, even if Ada had managed to scare off one stranger, in the short time it took her yo do so, two more had already come to take his place. Evidently, that plan wasn’t going to work right now, so Ada instead turned her attention back to the group's discussion.

There seemed to be a debate over whether the group should first try to find somewhere to stay or instead go and pawn their stuff off for money. Ada felt that she could probably make do in a warehouse for now, as Graham had suggested, she doubted she’d get much sleep whatever the case, but spending time in the slums of a random city in an entirely unfamiliar world struck her as a bad idea. On the other hand, making money seemed like the obvious choice, given they’d almost certainly need some sooner or later, especially if they wanted to find somewhere safer than some random city's slums to sleep, but with little knowledge of this world's money they were at risk of getting ripped off.

Actually, if the idea was to sell stuff they’d brought over from another world, was it really such a good idea to do so straight away? What if they attracted the attention of the fantasy mafia or something. Also if they needed an income maybe it’d be better to see if they could do something like licencing the designs for modern amenities out rather than just selling what they had and waiting for someone to beat them to the punchline. Actually, now that she thought about it what would the impacts of introducing modern technology to a fantasy world be? Surely that kind of thing could totally revolutionise the world. Then again if they weren’t careful with that kind of stuff Ada guessed they would be more likely to end up screwing this world up in the long run and even then that was assuming they didn’t garner the wrong attention and get themselves killed, which seemed even more likely. Well, just selling a few used pens probably wouldn’t result in anything quite that impactful, but even so, Ada didn’t really want to risk doing anything silly without thinking things through first.

Ada absentmindedly chewed on the tip of her thumb, muttering to herself as she did so, her mind spinning as she neurotically went through all the plans and questions she could think of in her head, pulling each and everyone apart for even the most minor of flaws, and somehow ending up with more problems and questions than when she’d started. Maybe if she had all the time in the world Ada could come up with the perfect plan, one without uncertainty or fault, but as usual, she didn’t, certainly not considering the fact that it was food and shelter on the line here. Yet, even so, Ada let her mind spiral further as she tried to find the perfect solution, the uncomfortable sensations she associated with panic rising in response.

“Huh?” It took Ada a moment to realise they’d been approached and snap free of her thoughts. The newcomers were a man and a woman, with red and white hair respectively, they seemed to be asking for directions to a place called 'Altifer's Artificing'. Obviously, Ada had no clue where that was, but maybe this was a golden opportunity, given these two were asking for directions it was possible that they weren’t locals, that’d probably limit what assistance they could provide a little, but more importantly, it might make it easier to extract help from them in the first place. Then again, on second thoughts, the strangers only served to add more unknowns so maybe it wasn’t such a good idea after all. Ada had just finished deciding to avoid the newcomers, when Andromeda stepped in and did the exact opposite, offering them assistance in finding their destination.

Realising that her plan of avoidance would no longer be viable, Ada decided to bite the bullet and commit to trying to get help out of these people. After letting out a nervous giggle, partially to calm her nerves and partially to psych herself up, Ada spoke up. “Yep, we’re from far away, really far away!” Ada began, hoping to reaffirm Andromeda’s alibi for them not knowing anything. “We don’t know the first thing about this place's culture, we don't have work and we certainly don’t have any food, money or shelter, but we’re happy to help!” Ada paused, realising only now that she’d still been doing her usual crazy person act, she doubted that she could speak her mind without it, but still acting like a loon in front of the people with the swords suddenly seemed like a bad idea. Changing her tune now would probably seem even odder though, so Ada opted to simply take a step away and hope her mannerisms wouldn’t offend the newcomers. “Anyway, maybe if we help you, you could return the favour by pointing us in the right direction for acquiring those things? Especially food and shelter, we’ll probably need those soon...”

"Name's Graham, Nice to meet you Seraphina. Sorry to say just like my 'friends' here I'm kinda new to this city. I don't know much about this place. Truth being told I'm kinda a bumpkin so to speak. I come from some run down city from somewhere far away." Graham says as he rubs his head. He looks around to the older man, and then the young pretty white haired woman. Man this whole thing was going to go from 1 to 100 isn't it? Shit like this seems way to convenient to find someone who seems to have some sort of good manners. Still never look a gift horse in the mouth was the saying right? "Tell the truth we just met ourselves. All the same if you would be willing to lend us a helping hand I'll do my best to do the same for you. You gotta repay kindnesses and all right? If you don't mind showing us around the city we can help you find that shop." Graham offers casually as he shrugs. "And yeah I look rough but I'm not a thug I can promise you that much."

His pen routine was magnificent. A classic studied and perfected over many months. Known to amaze many and sell packets of pen. Yet there he stood, as everyone seemingly ignored him for some white hair girl who had thought it wise to disturb him. Cunts.

"Oh, wonderful to meet someone new!" He gave a wide smile and a little bow. Though he'd let the others respond first, he slightly wanted to berate this 'Seraphina' for doing what she did. But ah, who would wish to immeditally begrudge this city/world/realm's locals? Certainly not Isaiah the great.

Perhaps, he would remark to himself a few people later. That was a mild mistake. Immeditally admitting you have no value is close to the bottom of the list on how to proceed with a situation like that. He felt a little headache form between his eyes. They were telling the truth, a thing that should be never be admitted giving that it tended to put you on a one way street to ruin. But hey, for most of them it was especially truthful. He was seeing little value in half of his companions so far. Yes, possibly on the first night he'd convince the academic for knowledge and the school girl for innocent looks. The others were...unneeded weight.

"My companions are too humble, really." Isaiah piped up, looking between the two newcomers. "The city may be a little confusing but general experience tells me we can find your 'Altifer's' in haste." It was true, technically. A place like this should abide to some general rule of city planning. He had no idea what an aritifcer was because he wasn't a nerd but it sounded like a service trade. Which meant it should be around other service shops. Where that was...well, he'd tell them when he found out.

"My apologies, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Isaiah the great, perhaps you've heard my exploits. My day is brightened with your faces, Seraphina and Cervantes. I think I may have seen a place with that name while I was meeting up with my group."

"Ugh—" Andromeda controlled the urge to facepalm after bearing witness to the others' introduction, if that could be even called that. How in the world could they think that demanding help in return would work? If nothing else, it only made them sound even more desperate and shady.

At least M3—shorthand for Mr. Magic Man—tried to save face right after Graham's incredibly ill-thought answer. "I wouldn't say humble is the right word but let's leave it at that," Andromeda said after a deep sigh. "Just as my friend here said, we might have come across the place on our way here. I just didn't want to give an uninformed guess. That's why I offered to help earlier. But I understand if you aren't interested, after our friends'... prank, I guess?"

The only thing Andromeda could hope for now is that these knight-like strangers wouldn't feel like reporting them to the authorities. A night on the slums was bad, but who knows what could happen if they had to spend it behind bars.
