Glad to see you're safe, and I hope you recover well! My other RP that I'm on in here has been going on for almost a year now with month-long breaks at one point so I'm more than happy to stick around for the ride. When you've got a moment, DM me and we can discuss how to get Silver out there into the world - until then just relax, sounds like you deserve it.

Name: Lady Arane Tiedriel

Rank: Revenant Major

Wards: None. Tiedriel's lands on Leria were stripped from her after her disappearance on the High Seas.

Posting in the OOC as requested! Apologies for the excessive length - I had trouble cutting it down.

I'm noticing that The Whisperer might be about to get his hands of something of great value to Tiedriel, too - though idk if @Cyclone and @Oraculum already have plans for that enchanted bauble

I would love to be a part of this amazing project if you are still accepting. If you have room for more, let me know and I'll throw up my character sheet.

My idea for a character is an archer formerly from a distant kingdom across the sea in the land of the living. She is an expert archer, once part of a small company sent some years ago from the united kingdoms to assassinate the Necromancer. They failed of course, and now they serve in undeath. But it was worth a try, seeing as how they can't invade with a full force.

Every army needs archers! I'm interested in exploring the idea of the remainder of her former group being friends she'd grown up with, but she would be the only one to remember her past-their past.

If there's a spot you'd like me to put my archer to help with the plot, feel free to let me know. I can be with the units of archers in the army, part of the guards in a city or just roaming around with my former company acting as a scouting group hunting down humans or whatever.

The jewel plot is entirely open-ended at its conception, so you're welcome in on it if you'd like.

Right -- as of the end of his latest post, Faustus is on the road with Razzak and they are currently about to be engaged by Bloodhammer. After that's done with, Faustus is supposed to be moving up to Necron, and with Comirion next door it's likely that Faustus will then be able to get the gemstone from Ghural in short order. So on this current trajectory that's probably at least two posts, maybe even three, before Faustus would be in possession of the gemstone and in a position to do something with it, just so you know where we stand with that.

Afterward Faustus could indeed encounter Arane and perhaps she could come into possession of it, but you may want to consider seeing Rixis first because I imagine you could get that ball rolling a little bit faster.

That might be the best option at this stage, yeah - I left Arane's exact destination a bit vague on purpose, but if y'all already have plans there, I'm happy to wait. Arane can't exactly go near Necron at the moment, anyways - she'd be putting herself at rather enormous risk of getting caught.

@Terminal would you be interested in setting up a meeting with Arane?

Absolutely, although how precisely you want to go about arranging that will require some artistry. Nergthron is situated a ways off from the coast and Rixis himself is entrenched in a new project therein. Did you have anything specific in mind?

@TerminalPulling him away from a new project is probably going to be the more difficult of the options, I'd imagine - Arane intends to travel in secret on her journey, but she thinks Rixis can be of use to her (I won't reveal too much about exactly why, but I'm sure you have a few guesses), and she has an interest in the Locus, too. My initial thought was that he might have interest in her attempts to reverse undeath, even if his rather unusual form renders him personally unable to take advantage of it. I can tell you a bit more in detail about what Arane's planning in PMs, if you like, but, in basic, she needs powerful, disgruntled allies like Rixis, and the Locus is a rather potent source of magickal power, if one that's extremely difficult to harness. More importantly, it's a thorn on ol' Eagoth's side. She intends to make her way up toward Rixis's territory once she finds a hidden place to moor her feet along the way and, hopefully, acquire an item of arcane importance along the way.

Thank you for your interest, Adverb! We are still accepting and would be delighted to have you. Definitely interested in an archer/sniper/assassin type of character. I invite you do your own thing, but I am definitely intrigued by the idea of pockets of humans existing in Leria after so much time, and perhaps having someone dedicated to hunting them down. Feel free to make an app and you'll be welcome to post.

Second post! This one's still a bit short, but with the 'setup' finished, my post length should increase. I probably could've gotten more done, but I felt it was a better option to focus on ending at a nice cliffhanger than to make 'progress'. This is collaborative storytelling, after all!

Another @gorgenmast special, how exciting! I'll try and turn my hand at a decent character. Is it safe, for comparison sake, to think the Undead are somewhat similar to those from World of Warcraft? They certainly have some rebellious types in there.

I saw the bit where you had other races at one point. How do you feel about a human Crusade landing on the shores and taking a foot hold from which they attack the undead?

I'd be tickled to have you on board, Wyrm! My knowledge of Warcraft lore is a bit rusty, but I would say that the Scourge/Forsaken are a pretty apt comparison. The leadership caste of the undead - Revenants Major and Minor - have free will, as do the more intelligent of the mindful ghouls. That might make Eagoth's undead more capable of rebellion than Arthas'. Minor disobedience is common enough, but outright rebellion is still quite rare as Eagoth is exceptionally cruel and vengeful. Lady Teladriel's nascent resistance seems to be shaping up to be the first thing approaching an undead rebellion in 20-30 years. The price for which will be incredibly awful if she and her co-conspirators are caught.

Other races are definitely present despite being rare. I am supportive of the idea of small pockets of living resistance on Leria. However, I would like all of the main player characters to be undead (a few living side characters are fine and expected). Catch me on discord/steam and we can hash something out.

@gorgenmast

Name: Hajra Longshadow

Rank: Minor

Description: In life, Hajra had dark brown skin and black hair that was shaved bald on the sides, long hair in the center that was tied into a braid. Koztan Script tattooed on both sides of her head and light brown eyes. Tall and thin, with lean muscle from a life of fighting and surviving. Now her skin is a dark greyish color and her eyes look glossy and pale. There are scars around her neck from what looks like a rope. She wears loose-fitting clothes with a sash around her waist, a mask of cloth that hides her lower face, and a hood. A style she picked up in the capital, seeing travelers from the desert.

Background: Her homeland, Kozta, is a death-trap. A massive tropical forest hot as a smithy's forge. Hotter even, at times. Bombarded by torrential downpours, rife with dangerous creatures, riddled with quicksand and that's not even the full measure. There are plants that will try to eat a person. Ground-creepers. Koztans build their villages off the ground in giant trees called Hoppas linked together by wide bridges because of this. In a hunter-gatherer based culture, those that venture out into the land to feed their people are treated as soldiers would be in other kingdoms. Respected and honored, brave are those who choose to hunt.

Hajra was a hunter more akin to a warrior. When a Koztan hunting party goes to ground, hunting parties from other settlements are regarded as enemies to be driven away or killed if encountered. She survived there for 16 years, and then she left.

She traveled to civilization. To the capital in search of an easier life. She struggled there for years learning the language and culture, trying to figure out how to survive in a place that was so different from her homeland. She discovered the similarities through the lustrous criminal underground and became a mercenary. A killer. A hunter.

Then she went to prison, sentenced to hang. But instead, she was sent to assassinate some necromancer. Almost had him, too. Now she works for him, scouting the borders and investigating any and all threats to the Necromancer.

Wards: Hajra has no lands under her control. She does have limited authority over lands and holdings under certain circumstances. If she suspects misconduct, treason, or is hunting for a mark, she cannot be denied in her investigation. She is also charged with patroling Leria.

I’m tickled to see so many posts lately. Lots of great arcs developing already. And another excellent collaboration post. Like I’ve said before, the difference between two authors can sometimes be jarring and make collaboration posts feel Frankenstein-esque. While the characters in these posts might be disjointed monstrositites, the posts themselves feel cohesive and have a nice flow. Looking forward to more awesome stuff.

Accepted! If you can do your own thing for a round of posts or two, I can probably work you into Theleden’s plotline. Only caveat I have is that Longshadow’s homeland of Kozta would have to be somewhere removed from the Lerian continent, as there are no parts of Leria that have anything remotely similar to a tropical rainforest. There are regions of the world far to the south of Phasto where such biomes would be expected. Feel free to start whenever with your IC posts
