Hex Jr.

Hex Jr. didn't flinch away from Scorch's enraged glare, despite how much his instincts screamed at him to. No, he wasn't backing down from this old-timer. Not before he conceded the point. Whatever the Sylveon was yapping about was unimportant, but he did catch bits and pieces of it in the midst of his staring match. Introductions? Ugh, icebreakers. He hated those.

Of course, Scorch's damn assistant just had to pick him right after the Poochyena. For Arceus's sake, why? With a roll of his eyes, the Litten reluctantly pulled his gaze away from Scorch's, finally conceding the staredown as he looked to the rest of the other mon in the room.

"Fine, fine. Name's Hex Jr." And he really hoped he wouldn't have to hear about his old man once someone recognized the name. "Did some exploring before the Shade kicked in. So I've got a bit of experience. Course, now I'm rusty after a year out of the game, just like everyone else." He said, breathing a speck of fire and sideeying Scorch at the latter portion of his sentence.

Tusk had been too fixated on the presence of the legendary Scorch, not paying too much heed to the polarizing opinions and responses from the other Pokemon. Though, as much as the Bagon hoped that their guild leader wouldn't grow upset over the others' mild hostilities, he was quaking in his salute when it looked like Scorch was about to let loose a volley of flame. It was a little strange to see how the subject of his childhood stories was almost eerily similar to how his father carried himself; a bit gloomy, even menacing. He breathed a sigh of relief when Fae interjected before anything could possibly escalated among the recruits, listening as a few of them began to introduce themselves.

"Well, I've already introduced myself, but," Tusk shrugged, tapping the center ridge on his head. "I'm definitely the strongest around town, so you can rely on me to beat up some baddies!"

Much like what he had expected, everyone had stood up for themselves. Tensions were rising and Zaru wondered if Scorch would just kick them all out. He wouldn't have been opposed to it; it would be a shame, sure, but if that's how the cards would fall, then he would accept it. Zaru waited for some kind of reaction from the guild leader - and it was clear that they had made him furious. Before he could make any sort of movement or talk against it, Fae quickly cut in to try and salvage the situation at hand.

Introductions, huh?

First was Yew, the Poochyena. A writer, that's pretty cool. Then there was Hex Jr., the Litten who had gone exploring before. Then there was Tusk who proclaimed that he was the strongest in town.

"Nice to meet y'all, the name's Zaru. My family is nomadic, so I've traveled a lot and I'd like to believe I've got some experience in exploring." He said with a light chuckle, seemingly unaffected by the situation earlier. "We've settled here for the year cause of the Shade and all and I'm itching to get to see the outside again."

To Ting's surprise, the Sylveon had managed to control the situation quite nicely. Perhaps there was more to this Sylveon than she let on. She had suggested introductions from everybody, and a few had already gone ahead and introduced themselves and some of their skills. Learning about each others skillset would definitely be advantageous considering they'd likely be working together for quite some time. But then came the question: What is he good at?

Well, he was good at survival, for starters. Then again, he could eat metal and survive off of it, while the others couldn't, so that certainly put a damper on his plans. Not to mention his immunity to poison from various poisonous plants and berries. What else was he good at? Loathe as he was to say it, he wasn't half bad at fighting. He could take hits and dish them out just as hard, too, provided they were physical moves. Anything else? Diligence? No, that wouldn't exactly be a skill. Maybe he would have to rely on his tenacity after all. He was good at taking hits, could survive on his own, and isn't afraid to get his "hands" dirty.

"Well, my name is Ting, and I suppose my strong suit would be my survival capabilities. I can survive in the wilderness on my own, surviving off of iron or other metals, and I have a natural immunity to poison because I'm a steel type. Not to mention I've got solid defenses, and can take more than just a couple of hits."

There. That wasn't so hard. Hopefully his skills would come in handy should they ever need them. Perhaps he could act as some sort of scout? He'd learned to mask his footsteps over the years, to the best of his ability, anyways. Maybe he should've included that in his little introduction? Though, looking at some of the others, like the Sneasel, their dexterity and skinnier bodies would likely make them better at stealth.

Ace fought to keep his fur from bristling, in fear or anger he wasn't sure, as Scorch glared and snarled at the lot of them. If this was the way the leader of the guild acted he wasn't totally sure he wanted to be a part of it anymore, but he also wouldn't let some old dog dictate what he did. Thankfully, before the situation could escalate any further the Sylveon clapped and pulled everyone's attention to her. Introductions made sense. Despite living here most of his life he couldn't say he really recognized many of the others who were in the lobby, and maybe Scorch would warm up a bit if he got to know what everyone was capable of.

Some of the other's already gave their introductions. So far it seemed like they had a pretty diverse group here which would be great when they got out into the field.

After the Aron, Ting, spoke he stood up straight, "I'm Ace. I can dish out some hard hits and I'm not afraid to be the first in line to fight for the rest of the team. My family moved here after The Shade started to impact Moonfall, and I've spent the past several years doing all different kinds of work and caring for my sister. Sort of a jack of all trades I suppose."

He sat back down. He figured that was a quick enough summary of what he could bring to the team. He wasn't sure if they'd be split up on missions or sent out together, but he could fill in at least a few different roles if need be. That was if Scorch even wanted them to stay around after his less than pleased entrance. What were the odds that he could even find older pokemon that were willing to delve into The Shade in Cloudgate. Not super high in his opinion. Hopefully Scorch realized that this group was probably the best he was going to get.

Having backed up since antagonizing Scorch, Blue had stayed around near the back doing his best to look like he didn't care. It was quite the opposite however. The Pokemon here didn't see only directly in front of them like his friends. They had goals and interests outside of the next theft or fight thats going to keep them feed. It was encouraging. Made him think that his decision could be right after all.

But it was his time to step to the plate and introduce himself.

"My names Blue, because of my blue skin. Its not very creative I know. I have been in a good deal of fights since coming to this city, among other things. I've won some, I've lost some, but I have proven myself on that front. I'm here to see what all the fuss is about. Yeah thats about all I have to say."

Blue continued to stay where he was.

Introductions! A very good plan to diffuse the tension between the guild leader and his new guild members. What really caught Nyatalie's ear was Fae's mention of boarding though. She knew that they'd be primarily living in the guild, at least for the most part, but now with a confirmation the Meowth looked at all of the other Pokemon gathered in a new light. One (or more) would be her roommate... and of course only the most polite, sophisticated Pokemon would due to sharing living space with a Meowth!

Nyatalie waited, a bit impatiently though she hoped it didn't show, for a chance to jump in and introduce herself.

"I'm Nyatalie! I'm quick and nimble... um... and I'm good at finding shiny things!" she said, fumbling slightly with what to say. What was she good at that would be useful to a rescue team? Nothing else came to mind, so what she'd said would have to do. Even the "quick and nimble" part wasn't the total truth either - Nyatalie was more strong and solid when compared to her sisters, but who ever thought of a Meowth being that?

With her intro more or less settled, Nyatalie's brain kicked into overdrive and she went through the rest of the Pokemons' introductions. If she had a say at all in who her roomie was going to be, she had to say it now, right? The Buneary and Sneasel who'd yet to introduce themselves seemed nice: one was cute and kind, the other cool and collected. Although she was a canine, Yew also seemed nice - and she was artsy even! The boys all seemed headstrong, except for Zaru. He might make a good roommate too. Wait... she couldn't even consider one of the boys, could she?

"Um, Fae? About boarding. It's not co-ed, right?" Surely it couldn't be. Although if it was, Nyatalie hoped she'd be put with another girl. Her whole household at home was female, it was what she was familiar with - and a little familiarity might help in this situation where she'd be living away from home for the first time.
