Name:
Droka Russ
Age:
15
Gender:
Male
Personality:
Somewhat introverted naturally, Droka's photophobia has done much to shape his personality alongside his lifestyle. With sunlight itself little more then a source of terrible, sickening agony if he allowed it to make contact with his bare eyes, Droka unsurprisingly tended to favor indoor activities such as reading or playing board games. Naturally distrustful of sports that require one to be outside due to concerns about his sunglasses slipping, his almost complete avoidance of outside activity resulted in him not having many friends growing up and something of an easy target for bullies to insult and call him names...through it has to be said, few bullies have ever physically attacked him.
Cautious and cowardly by nature, Droka can often be the voice of reason for what friends he has... but when the chips are down he will stand up and back them even if it means risking his own well-being to do so. When it comes to stress and frustration Droka will do his best to keep it together during the situation itself but to his personal shame he is aware of the fact that when things start to get to much for him he is prone to becoming abrasive and hostile to those around him. That said, he tends to be surprisingly empathetic and can have insights into situations and people that others wouldn't even consider.
Bio:
From the day he was born, doctors knew that something was wrong with young baby Droka. Originally the hope was that it was a minor birth defect that could be easily corrected and thus no longer be a concern, but as time passed they had to table the idea of curing the condition and instead work on how to allow the one born with it to live something of a normal life. Despite their efforts, doctors couldn't figure out exactly why Droka's eyes were the way they were and simply lacked the medical technology to fix them but as the years passed they were able to figure out the... for lack of a better word, 'rules' of Droka's condition and the extent of the effect it would physically have on him.
Having spent a great deal of his younger years visiting one medical expert or another, Droka was honestly just happy that the amount of visits he needed to make were reduced each year to the point where he just needed to get a check up every few months or so. Having developed a mild case of heliophobia due to the fact that sunlight was a major source of physical pain to him if he encountered it with his bare eyes, Droka tended to prefer being indoors whenever possible during the day, only really venturing outside whenever he needed to but preferring to do so during dusk when the sun wasn't anywhere nearly as bright or on cloudy and rainy days.
As he grew older and entered his teenage years, he rather naturally became something of a night owl. The darkness of night just... gave him a lot more options and offered him more comfort then the day ever could. While he's not allowed to go full nocturnal yet due to things like having to go to school, Droka awaits the day he'll leave school behind and can actually live a lifestyle more agreeable to him.
School is an ever present nightmare for Droka. Not only does it force him to be out under sun, but other children have often bullied him for most of his life. Actually being physically attacked was rare as... well, any bully that knocked his glasses off and triggered his condition tended to regret it due to how Droka would curl up on the ground screaming and whimpering in agony while his eyes sometimes leaked blood being nowhere near as funny as they hoped it would be, but tended to bring a ton of trouble down on their own heads via the adults and a degree of disgust from the other children for doing something so vile and horrible. Name calling and being ignored or avoided were somewhat common though.
What few friends Droka has he treasures dearly.
Appearance:
Droka is never seen without one of two pairs of glasses. The first are a pair of normal reading glasses that he puts on whenever he's in a darkened or lightly lit area that doesn't mess with his eyes and thus bypassing his poor eyesight to allow him to read and focus on finer details. Whenever he has to go out into the sun or be in a brightly lit room, he'll instead wear a pair of proscription sunglasses that covers most of the upper part of his face to properly shield his eyes from making contact with light. Droka doesn't really have a noticeable iris, his pupils taking up most of his eyes from their near constant stay in darkness while the whites are almost red with bloodshot veins. It has long been a source of teasing and has been known to unnerve and frighten.
Due to his lifestyle, Droka is almost a stereotype of the 'shut in scholar' look. His brown hair is often cut short and then just left to its own devices until it grows long enough to be annoying again with no attention given to it beyond being washed once a day. His white skin is somewhat pale and has recently been an embarrassingly good display board for outbreaks of pimples. He was always somewhat tall and lanky, but a recent growth spurt has given him an almost scarecrow or skeleton like frame. As for clothing... he doesn't really have an attire he sticks with. A good pair of pants, a shirt and often a hooded jumper and he's good to go most of the time.
Weapon: (Everyone will be able to become a Keyblade Wielder when the plot gets rolling. So go ahead and leave this blank until then.)
Spells: (Similar to the Keyblade. You'll be learning these after the plot picks up, so feel free to leave this blank for now.)
Abilities: (Attacks like Strike Raid or Sonic Blade can go in here, in addition to more passive abilities. But like with spells, leave it blank for now.)
