Gender: They are often referred to as males, but technically they have no gender. They are robots.

Powers: Both androids have the same power set. They have a link, HIVEMIND, that lets them communicate with each other quickly, silently, and efficiently. This communication link can be tapped into by their human partners via standard issue comm devices. Both bots are fitted with plasma blasters with adjustable intensity. The highest setting can blast a hole through a brick wall, the lowest can leave some ouchies on skin. Both androids have a deadlift limit of 3000 pounds. They can both run at 40 MPH for up to 10 minutes before they must slow down to cool. Both are equipped with night vision, enhanced vision up to 6 miles, both units are waterproof, internet connection to pull data from, and an advanced AI system that is capable of continual learning. Lastly, being that they are machines with their entire identity backed up on hard drives, they are technically immortal.

Weaknesses: Being a machine is all well and good, but machines do have limits. TANDEM's main drawback in their ability to overheat. If a unit exerts too much energy in a short amount of time, it will begin to overheat and be forced into its cool down protocol, which basically consists of "hide until you are cooled off". Another weakness is water. While TANDEM's hulls are waterproof, if they get torn open and exposed to water, they can be severely damaged. Lastly, each unit weighs 312 pounds. This limits their agility and can make transportation difficult.

Personality: This is where the TANDEM units get interesting. Being that they are robots, they shouldn't technically have personalities. They were not programmed to have personalities. But their AI systems have self evolved over the last six months, and lately, the units have been showing signs of having preferences, ideas, and even opinions. The implications of this have not been fully realized. What happens if they suddenly decide they don't agree with their handlers?

Appearance: The twin units are almost completely identical. Both are 6 feet even, have a silver outer hull, humanoid shape, and are marked with a big T1 and T2 on their chest plates. Both units are fitted with indication lights to help their handlers access their health from a distance. These lights are red (T1) and blue (T2), which also helps to tell the units apart.


Other: TANDEM is kept in two sleep chambers in the lab when they aren't in use. These sleep chambers help them power down, do updates, run background programs, ect. The other day, T1 showed signs of irritation when it's sleep chamber was down for repairs and it had to use T2's. Diagnostics were run to find any signs of malfunction, but none were found. Management concluded that the techs simply humanized the robot's actions by accident.

History: The androids themselves don't have much of a history. They're only six months old, after all. But the TANDEM program has been in the works for decades. It originated as a way to replace human soldiers with robots. These days, the focus is replacing superhuman recovery agents with more androids like TANDEM. TANDEM are the first of their kind, and are currently doing a 2 year trial run to ensure that they are up to the task.

Name: Nathaniel Montgomery
Codename: Amontillado (Monti)
Age: 22
Gender: male
Affiliation: Recovery Agent (Rookie/apprentice)

Power: Incredible vision and fast reflexes. Generally enhanced senses and a brain that processes information more quickly than the average human.

He's a bit faster and stronger than the average human.

He heals rather quickly, but not instantly- a small cut will be gone in a few minutes, a bullet wound more or less an hour, a huge gaping wound may take several hours.

He doesn't quite process pain the way a typical human does. It still feels it and it can still hurt, but it excites him, causing more adrenaline than it should as well as dopamine.

Weaknesses: Low stamina, unstable metabolism. Moodswings, overconfidence.

Personality: He's been through plenty of trauma and violence, yet instead of being brooding or shy, somehow he's rather enthusiastic and even immature. As some say, he may have a few screws loose and a few wires crossed. He's cocky and overconfident and rarely takes anything seriously, at least not attitude wise, taking everything with a smirk.

He's fond of firearms of all kinds and even the occasional blade. He enjoys his job, though he often wishes he could be a hitman or assassin instead like his handler used to be. There's just something unsatisfying about weapons that only stun or knock out. He gets especially excited when he has or finds a target on the "too dangerous or uncooperative to be left alive" list.

He hasn't been doing the job for long, but he likes to think he's good at it.

He may or may not be a bit of a sociopath, but he's got a heart in there somewhere. He just likes to make his superiors happy and thinks he may as well enjoy what he does.

Appearance: A respectable five foot eleven, dull blue eyes, medium length dark brown hair, and a difficult to identify ethnicity that comes off as Caucasian. He has a lean but unassumingly fit build.

Other: Nothing makes him happier than a near death experience. Lucky for him, by some seemingly divine power, they somehow happen often. He keeps souvenirs from every single one, keeping his favorites with him on a charm bracelet. The charms mostly consist of bullets as well as a polished shard of glass from a window he was once thrown through.

History: If you ask him, he'll avoid the subject or just shrug and say everything he remembers about the academy and before is pretty fuzzy. He'll laugh and say he probably repressed the trauma.

He's been a Recovery Agent for about six months now. He's gained a reputation of being a little irritating, but not necessarily hard to work with. On the other hand, some say he was surprisingly fun and nice to work with.

Deemed too immature and inexperienced (and still a bit untrustworthy) to work alone, he has been assigned to a partner, AKA, his handler, Gregory Harrison.

Name: Gregory Harrison

Age: 38
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Recovery Agent/Superhuman Handler

Power: Perfectly human, but he's tough, sharp witted, knows his way around self defense and weapons (especially guns), and has a high pain tolerance.

He has an extremely impressive aim for a human. While he doesn't get jealous, he does find it irritating that Nathan has a better shot than him without a scope and without really having to work for it.

Weaknesses: At the end of the day, he's perfectly human.

Personality: He takes himself and his work very seriously. He's a no-nonsense kind of guy with a smoking habit. He wants to get the job done, and he wants to do it well. Loyalty is his highest held value. He's fiercely loyal to his superiors and has no tolerance for anything less from his comrades, let alone those below him.

He doesn't like to get personal whatsoever. If you see him smile, either he's fond of you, or he's picturing something violent. Most likely the latter.

Appearance: A tall six foot two with sharp features and an athletic build. He has green eyes and long blonde hair he keeps in a ponytail. He's covered in scars, but manages to keep most of them covered, not including the one that looks like a thin gash under his eye.

Other: He seems to like turtleneck sweaters.

History: He used to be a hitman, but was offered a position with SDMS. He figured it was about time he gave something else a try. He's been with SDMS for about six years now. Ask him about anything before that, you'll get a cold stare.

Name: Elias Crowl/Phantom

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Affiliation: Rogue/Acts as SDMS recovery agent

Power: Phantom's powers are centered around stealth. He however, can create teleportation portals. He is able to go invisible and phase through walls. A very helpful combat skill, he can see a few seconds into the future. He uses this to be an incredible spy.

Weaknesses: Elias has weaknesses as well. He can only create teleportation portals to places he has seen, and if he stays invisible for 60 minutes, it causes him to put in a little effort to becoming visible, but that gets harder and harder over time and if he is invisible for 240+ minutes, he cannot become visible again. He is in a vulnerable state when he is using his Immediate Clairvoyance, as he is in a trance, and phasing through walls requires immense concentration.

Personality: A lot can be said of Elias Crowl, but if there's anything you should know it's that he's methodical and daring. Of course he's also playful, amusing and persuasive, but far less strongly and often mixed with being destructive as well.
His methodical nature though, this is what he's often admired for. People often count on this and his insight in times of need.

Nobody's perfect of course and Elias has a range of flaws to deal with too. His slyness and opportunistic ways pose plenty of problems and reach all around.
Fortunately his daring nature helps lighten the blows and moods when needed.

Appearance: Elias normally wears a trench coat and sunglasses. He wears jeans and a blue T-shirt underneath his coat. He has spiked hair that he gels at LEAST once a day. When recovering information at S.D.M.S, he wears no suit or any type of disguise; his invisibility suffices.

Other: He is skilled with guns and often has one inside his trench coat. His sunglasses keep the sun out. On occasions, he can reflect light at his opponents. He is the adoptive father of the Rogue duo "Titans"

History: Elias lived a happy life until the age of 10. He was playing hide-and-seek, and he was hiding behind the couch, but nobody saw him. Finally, when he said "See me!" He then went visible again. His parents were shocked and immediately notified the Academy. Elias disappeared that night. The Academy had taken him. Elias joined S.D.M.S after graduating the academy. He worked as a recovery agent- but he hadn't forgotten the horrors in the Academy- so he secretly freed someone at the Academy whenever he could. It's risky, but Elias tries to recruit his friends at SDMS to his cause.

Name: Ellie Waters
Codename: Shadow
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Dampened (Superhuman inside Academy)

Power:
"Darkness Manipulation"-Ellie can 'gather' shadows to make a room darker. She can also mask herself in shadows, so it helps for sneaking around in dark places. Her last ability is to manipulate shadows into a solid substance such as shields or weapons like daggers ('maaaaAAAaaagic'). Though she still sucks at controlling this last ability.
*potentially can teleport through shadows, but has ZERO success thus far*

Weaknesses:
Light. In the sunlight, especially around noon, she can't use her abilities to her full potential. So she only is an asset during the night or at dusk/dawn.
And she can only manipulate existing shadows/darkness so far.

Personality: Despite being a superhuman associated with darkness, Ellie is a somewhat positive person. She tries to find the silver lining in any situation--though she may come across as being sarcastic. Always a glass-half-full type of person, Ellie looks at her status as a gift despite public prejudice.

Appearance: Ellie is of average height and average build. She's not muscular or chunky but average. She has curly and kinky natural red hair that she often keeps in one big french braid. And even though the rest of her siblings had nice, brown coffee-colored skin--Ellie took after their grandmother and was on the paler side and riddled with orange/brown freckles. Her eyes, however, are a beautiful shade of brown.


Other: Wants to be an actual superhero that doesn't cause damage or kill civilians. Oh my.

History: Ellie is fresh meat at the Academy as she just came into her powers the past three months. Her family is from Chicago, and it's rumored one of her cousins was killed 30 years ago during the battle on Chicago that went wrong. Her family is lower middle class, and once she faded into the shadows quite literally one evening at dinner, her mother was the first to call SDMS--though her father was very much against it.

Ellie, at the time, reluctantly agreed with her mother's wishes. But now that she's at the Academy, she secretly wishes her mother would have never called.
