It's been nearly a year since the last sighting of Doctor Ivo Robotnik, more widely known as Dr. Eggman. After yet another in a long line of defeats from his nemesis, famed hero Sonic the Hedgehog, he and his empire went underground without a trace. In the beginning, the world stood ready for his return. But as days turned to weeks, and weeks to months... he never did.

The world rejoiced in his apparent disappearance, both humans and mobians alike as life returned to a state of normalcy. However, some weren't convinced that he was truly gone. Some continued to seek him out, to put an end to his schemes once and for all. But to this day, neither he nor his empire have resurfaced.

Now the world begins to celebrate the anniversary of his apparent final defeat, with everyone hoping for the best as they look towards a bright future, unaware of what would lie ahead...

Welcome. This here is going to be my spin on an alternate Sonic Universe. The events will kick off shortly before the events of what would begin the six month war alluded to in Sonic Forces. That area of history is pretty open to interpretation, and the game events themselves really could use some drastic improvement in some areas. So... we're going to do just that. Expand on the original story and branch off from it.

Of course, this beeing an alternate universe, there will be some modified events. Ways to help bring the best parts of the franchise together in a coherent and enjoyable way. Things like:

• Modern incarnations of classic characters such as the Knothole Freedom Fighters and other old Archie Characters that have been all but abandoned by the current canon and lore for one reason or another. Getting to see what events happened in this worlds past that brought them together, and where they are now.
• An expanded world outside of South Island, like we saw in games such as Sonic Unleashed. The world is gigantic, with so many amazing places to explore and discover that the games and even the comics don't touch upon anymore.
• Rare and more obscure species being brought into play with new lore, such as the alien Seedrian race or the powerful Dragon Mobians, among the countless other species that exist in this world.
• Returning many characters to what should be their personalities and true character based on what they've been through, staying true to who they've become over the years.
• And More!

All of this abides by what I've come to know as The Golden Rule. And that rule is simply "Can You Make It Make Sense?" So, as long as you can do that... I'll probably allow it!

This kind of story has plenty of room for players to take control of existing characters or bring their own into the fray, and I'm more than happy to take suggestions and critiques! My intent is to create a world that, as already stated, blends the best of the franchise into an enjoyable experience for everyone!

I'd love to hear your ideas and see some interest if you guys are indeed interested, I know this is a fandom that can generate some amazing creations if we put our heads together. Hope to see you guys around!

I'll have to see when/if we get enough interest for a character sheet. For Sapphire I don't have any issues, aside from the lore for the dragons. To make a long story short, the world thinks they're extinct but in reality they hid themselves away from the world and are still in hiding, so if you can work with that, so can I.

Sonic is a bit trickier, since he's one of THE key players in the world and, with the story planned... will be active a lot before getting taken out and put out of commission while he's captured by Eggman for... quite a while I'd say. We'll see-

I'm gonna keep an eye on this. I have a few ideas, though what this really sparked back was my love of the Worlds Unite story arc from the Archie Comics back in 2015. I've always had a bit of an idea about a roboticized Billy Hatcher since then, but I don't know if this RP really wants to take an old crossover comic into account just to suit one of my ideas. I have other stuff, it's just the top of my list of things I'd like to do lol.

I'm assuming some characters like Sonic and Robotnik will be run by you since they're key to the plot (and Sonic will be stuck in a prison cell for like... most of the rp), but I have a few characters in mind already. Some from the games, a couple from the comics, a couple from old ideas that I can retool and refresh.

And we'll see what ya got, Robians would probably be a rarer sight these days but there are plenty of sentient bots out there, Omega and Gemerl to name a few. So that's well within the realm of possibility.

@ModeGone In terms of Robians, Sonic's father, Julian "Jules" the Hedgehog is one. I might play him, unless he couldn't qualify or someone else wants him.

Yeah... with a few exceptions and although its been a loooong time since I read the comics, I'm sure at more than one point they had some solutions to revert the process. ...there had to be a way since I have some vague memories of Sonic (and Knuckles and Sally) being turned into Robians on more than one occasion. Each.

I doubt I could pull off Omega. While his omnicdial mania and targets-a-plenty attitude and All The Guns would be fun, I'm not sure how he'd act outside of combat situations. With Gemerl, my only knowledge of Gemerl without research at this second is that he exists from the Advance games, I think he's built or found by Nega due to color palette, and apparently he becomes buddies with Cream?
But I was thinking of some other robots like the Chaotix bots, or Coconuts (or Bokkun) deciding he's had enough and decides to trash things in a petty revenge, or maybe even something built by a Mobian since the only non-Robotnik-spawned AI I remember was NICOLE herself... and the Gizoids of course. ... And the stuff by GUN and the ARK's Artifical Chaos-0 things, but I'm... 20% sure that GUN got those designs from a Robotnik be he Gerald or capturing some of Ivo/Julian's work for reverse-engineering.

Yeah, back in the early days it happened a lot more. Sally's big one was being turned into Mecha Sally near the end of the original run before the reboot.

Omega's gonna be taken offline for a while too, so no issue there. Gemerl was Eggman's attempt at recreating Emerl, but got defeated by Sonic and the gang and rebuilt by Tails then given to Cream.

There's definitely plenty of possibilities out there. Heavy and Bomb might still be around somewhere, and some of Eggman's older bots I remember ended up being repurposed in a casino in post-reboot Archie.

A lot of the older media is going to be more adapted than beat for beat the same events and characters. So not sure if Sonic's parents would really be around, though Uncle Chuck could probably be worked in. It worked out in the Archie Reboot.

That I'd be happy with, I've never been able to nail their team dynamic but to be fair it's never really come up in the past for me. We'll see what they get up to if this gets off the ground, which right now is looking promising.

These two are pretty much an accurate portrayal of my last 2 brain-cells trying to stay warm. Maybe make a new version of the SSSSSS.

Been a bit quiet for a few days here myself, but I've still been working on things. Finalizing some ideas here and there, that kind of stuff. Though the way things are looking, if everyone here's still up, should be able to get some stuff started in the next few days.
