My name is Alex, and I'm currently in college and earning my degree in classical studies (study of ancient Mediterranean, more specifically ancient Greece and Rome). I'm in my twenties and I feel like I'm in my 80s. I have two chronic pain conditions (fibromyalgia and interstitial cystitis), and I take pride in being part of the disability community. I've been role-playing for about ten years now, give or take, I've been on the Guild since 2011. I'm a huge reader and have recently been on the biggest reading kick I've had since around 2017.

So, the entire reason I've created this interest check is because I am dying for an anti-hero romance. For any of you who recognized the image and quote above, you'll know I'm drawing inspiration from the Shadow and Bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. I've just recently reread the series and just finished the TV show. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, the Shadow and Bone series is a young adult fantasy series about a young girl who displays a power that is prophesized to save the world. In said series, there is a romance between her and a man who has a power directly opposite hers - the anti-hero. They unfortunately do not wind up together, and I am looking to right that wrong.

In this interest check, I am looking for nothing except an anti-hero romance set in a fantasy world. Besides that, I have nothing too specific. We could use a pre-established world, such as ASoIaF or the Grishaverse, or we could create our own. The same goes for plots. If anyone wants to actually do a role-play with the Darkling (the aforementioned anti-hero), I am more than eager to play him. Other than that, I'm not a fan of using canon characters. I'm willing to do any type of pairing, though for this one I'm thinking MxF. I am quite used to playing males now, so if you only play females I'm still willing to role-play with you - though I would expect you to create some male side characters.
