And I don't just mean elves and dwarves or something. More like anthros, goblins, kobolds, that sort of thing. Non-near humans. Like this:

I usually give the less advanced groups less to wear, but the necessary parts are always covered, don't worry.

What my humanoid creatures wear, human, goblin, or otherwise, depends entirely on their culture, level of intelligence, and how industrious their area is.

I once played a human tribesman who didn’t wear much more than the kobald posted above. Indigenous tribes tend to dress up both out of necessity and status. The ones in colder climates will wear furs to stay warm, while the ones in warmer areas wear practically nothing. I’m sure we’re all familiar with the feather war bonnets the chieftains wear so that they can be more easily spotted by their tribesman.

I’ve also seen tabaxi (DnD’s version of a feline anthro for the uninitiated) who typically live in a tribe. But this one had grown up around industrial cities, where what you wore was both a status symbol and what separated you from the savages. They wore fine clothing to try and distinguish themselves as a member of the upper class.

So what my humanoid characters wear doesn’t depend on their race at all.

Also I apologize in advance if the idea was to get pictures of humanoids in interesting clothes, but I've GMed too many characters to pick just a few.

Disregard clothing.

Shed the trappings of civilized life.

Return to anarcho-primitivism.

Return to purity.

I'm afraid I can't add much more than what BrokenPromise said, culture/economics/industry/geography etc will determine the clothes if I'm trying to take things seriously. Though I just go rule of cool and generally do whatever I think fits in some vague "Damn son these visuals could be like a metaphor" sense.

However when it comes to art and designing characters and whatever, I generally follow the rule of giving room for ears/tails. Big pointy ears? Hole in helmet/hat/hood. Tail? Hole, opening, or some sort of fancy strap that goes across it. Tails- especially for the lizard people -can also have sheaths for short swords, machetes or knives and daggers depending on how big the lizard is. Also pouches!

That's a good idea for the tails. I hadn't considered adding sheaths and other holding vessels on the tails. Thanks!

I've played a slime. He doesn't wear anything. In fact most articles of clothing that are made of materials that he can soak through are outright impossible to wear.

It all really depends on class and theme. My goblin artificer/wizard right now has a thick cloak, leathers with bandoliers holding various tiny projects, vials and tools and a holster with a spellbook strapped in. Other than that, my Kobold Barbarian had a loin cloth and a tiny hat, and my Firbolg War Domain cleric had head-to-toe armor.

Well, my serpentine aliens I usually have dressed in a little hat, bowtie, and cane. Anything else is pretty much anything goes.

I know you're likely joking but I want to see this now. Do they have arms? Or does the cane just lean on them?

Apart from the fact that I was thinking more actual snake, that is just about exactly what I pictured before I started overthinking things.
