I would like to apologize to any of you who felt that my character was taking the spotlight away from your characters. If that be the case I really wished someone would have stepped up and said SOMETHING. Nonetheless, thank you all for the experience. It has been awesome. :). Keep on writing.

Please do not feel the need to leave. I don't think that's what anyone wants. If you feel concerned that you might have wronged the other players, just try to make it right, that's all.

I can't speak for the players, but as a GM I knew I was going to have to address this issue eventually. We are only on our second monster so I was still feeling things out but knew I would have to do something eventually. The power set and level of Yuri was proving to be a little problematic for the monsters to effectively counter without me just going completely crazy with their powers. In general it should be the players figuring out strategies to counter the monster and not the other way around.

Yuri can still work but you just need to keep some of his 'original' power in check for the role play to proceed smoothly. My worst fear was that I might have to go overboard with a monster to counter Yuri's magic but have to make them too powerful in the process for other characters to feel like they could really contribute.

It was my impression from reading the first battle that a lot of characters were sidelined and most of them caused to appear comparatively weak or less important to the rp overall. If nobody actually felt bothered by this, and I was simply mistaken about it being a concern, then I apologize.

It is, however, the very clear impression one gets as a reader.

If my presence is going to be a problem for people, please let me know now, and I will humbly back out.

I didn't want Gou to be overpowered because I wanted space for character growth and also worried about balancing his powers. But with the latest round I can definitely see how the monsters had to be ramped up early to counter the team.

While it's true everyone does need to have fun, I can see IceHeart's point in struggling to keep up as well. On the other hand, I dont want to just give Gou more powers that will instantly have him decimate half the army either, bc it'd make no sense for him really

edit: Not a problem for me, @Nyxira! Think it'd be good to have another helping hand out

I can see where you're coming from, it's just that personally I don't mind Luna coming off as comparatively weak or less important because I consider her less important than the other three. When I RP I pretty much always aim for a supporting protagonist role. So long as I'm not made to feel like my contributions don't matter I'm golden. I want to be Piccolo, not Chad.

And no, I don't think your presence is going to be a problem. It's a jump in, so jump on in and have some fun.

By the way, in reviewing the scene for the sake of posting, I noticed an odd discrepancy in the latest mod post about what Yuri had said. It took me a bit to realize that Winds' post was changed, presumably to not include the line/interaction that was referred to at all (but it was changed AFTER IceHeart's post, so it was missed I guess?). Not sure what y'all want to do about that, if anything, but just thought I should point it out since Yuri was basically specifically attacked based on an interaction that didn't happen (anymore).

Although everyone has now already acknowledged in-character that he was attacked.

My apologies that I haven't posted. I am currently in ICU being moved at some point to another room. Whenever I am released from the hospital I will post with Yuri.

Nyxira, yes I am okay with it. Yes, I had changed my post to make Yuri less powerful and less of a threat because it was brought to my attention that he was, so I took initiative to correct it. There was nothing wrong with it, I did have him react to being attacked by the monster as well as taking note of Luna's arrival.

There shouldn't have been any major concern regarding that since the only thing I removed was just fluff and some dialogue between the monster and Yuri.

Okay, all good, just making sure you didn't feel your character was being needlessly singled out or picked on for something he didn't do. If everyone's happy with the way things are, then it's all good.
