History
Rhiannon was born to two young parents while they were still in college. Upon Guinevere discovering that she was pregnant, Art promised to stay with her, be with her, help her in any way he could. And he never broke that promise. Art's parents - to the young parents' surprise - didn't take the news too well. They felt like Art had a responsibility to Guinevere and his unborn child and pushed him to quit college to take up a paying job so he'd be able to financially support his family. They felt he was not supposed to be "a real man" and "man up" by taking care of his own life, financially and otherwise, without the support of his parents. This very old-fashioned point of view was such a surprise to everyone and led to Art quickly becoming estranged from his family. Guinevere's parents on the other reacted only positively. They didn't judge their daughter. Instead, they provided her with a tutor to keep up with her studies, helped the young couple financially and otherwise, made sure that they had moments of rest, had their finances in check, found a little place for them to stay, and would provide them with help in house-keeping, cooking and remembering important appointments. Due to the unconditional love and support of Eleanora and Marcario, the two young parents finished college and still managed to be good parents.
All throughout Rhiannon's life, her grandparents and her parents had been supportive and present figures in her life. Even though her parents divorced when she was five, her father never lacked in being around for her. The reason for their divorce was simple yet complicated. Art loved his wife dearly and with all his heart but throughout the years his romantic and sexual desire towards Guinevere faltered. He blamed himself immensely for this, hating to hurt her and hating that he couldn't fulfill her needs. When Guinevere decided it was time to part ways (romantically), Art was heartbroken but also slightly relieved. They continued to stay good friends after a period of pain and sorrow had passed. And Art was very welcome in the Blunt household every minute since meeting Guinevere, that didn't change after their break-up either. Although Eleanora and Macario asked their daughter for their consent to continue being second parents to Art, so they could respect their daughters boundaries.
Rhiannon never missed love or support in her life. She always had a room with her mother, with her father, and with her parents. She was always welcome in any of their houses and all in all, had a loving and nearly perfect childhood.
When Rhiannon realized she was gay around the age of twelve, her father surprisingly had issues with this. He was never mad at her, never made her feel unloved or wrong. In their age and time, homosexuality was openly lived, experienced, and taught in schools. Macario long felt like the worst father for even having these struggles he didn't understand himself. Turns out, he was gay. Albeit queerness being openly explored and shown these days, he somehow didn't realize it. Only when Rhiannon turned fourteen, he fell in love with a man and suddenly realized his problem with Rhiannon's queerness had just been his problem with not understanding himself. After that, all was well. Macario now understood his lack of romantic or sexual interest in his ex-wife and felt more at peace with himself.
Art eventually went on to marry a man of the name William Rodgke. Four years ago (around the same time Rhiannon and Lisa got married), they decided to foster an orphan boy of thirteen years. A year later, they adopted him with his consent. Sullivan Rodgke-Windsor is now seventeen years old and has applied to multiple colleges. He is looking to become a marine biologist.
Rhiannon grew up like a normal kid, with heartbreaks and sorrows and happiness and support, and she eventually went on to choose the path of science. First not being certain where to head, she considered archeology and physics. In the end, she chose physics because a fortune teller had seen in her cards that a lifetime of happiness would await her on this path. Desperately wanting to believe in magic, Rhiannon was certain she meant that physics would be her true calling.
However, instead, she met a wonderful woman who was studying engineering at the same university. With the same bold ideas and very similar ambitions, Lisa and Rhiannon quickly became fast friends and developed feelings for one another. They began dating in college and to this day are still going strong, now having been married for 4 years. With all relationships, they had their ups and downs. But they stuck together, communicated, and figured it. Of course, they still have their issues today. But love has outweighed everything so far.
After graduating college, the two women went on to work for a company that specifically recruited them. Apparently, they were interested in their theories of bending time and space to create a window to the past. Rhiannon was very excited about the job offer albeit the secrecy it was being treated with rang her alarm bells. In the end, the young women decided to take up the offer anyway. Working in a secret facility for the government with very strict rules and contracts, they were not just getting resources to experiment with their theory, they were also getting paid a nice big sum! Rhiannon felt like life couldn't get any better at this point. Her dream job with her dream partner working together on their favorite theory. All that was missing now was a breakthrough. Some form of progress. They would be written into history books!
But no breakthrough came. They tried and tried. But nothing happened. The number of failure reports they wrote got frustrating. But Rhiannon was no one to give up and neither was Lisa. And for some reason, the government continued to fund their project.
Only recently, around three months ago, a disaster struck Rhiannon's family when Eleanor and Macario passed away. They died minutes from each other, holding hands. The doctors said it was a peaceful death, even though unexpected. They guess that for Eleanor and Macario the time had just come.
