Would there be merit in enacting a restriction on the number of active interest checks one member can have in a single interest check? I ask because I've noticed that two members have together nine posts in the 1x1 Interest Check and keep each topic active. That limits the spots available on the first page and feels like it borders on spam.

Not 100% sure there is anything that can be done or even if the staff/mods think it should be, but I wanted to toss my hat into the ring on this topic.

I apologize for bumping so many threads. I do it at work and I wasn't paying attention to how many I did and it will not happen again.

If this is an issue that needs addressing, it may be worth putting something up on a permanent basis that lays out what is and isn't acceptable in terms of IC frequency/amounts. Something to point at and say "This is the guideline you're going against." rather than arbitrarily deciding that someone has too many active threads. If something like this already exists, it should be easier to find.

+1

I've seen it brought up here and there throughout all the years I've been on the guild. Hell, even I've mentioned it back when I was mainly writing on my other account.

@NuttsnBolts or any other mod: correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we already have pinned guideline threads? I looked and could've sworn we had some, but the only one I could find was the pinned Mature 1x1 thread (which IMO needs some updating/a new coat of paint anyway).

We only had the mature guidelines thread listed in the 1x1 section and anything else was removed because it did end up clashing with the main rules of the site. Even now I think I may have to have a quick check up on the mature section to make sure that I covered the right wording.

In saying that, multiple threads by single individuals is not really grounds for an entire "one thread per person" rule as some people will refresh their interest checks with a new thread that has no clutter, or someone who is looking through the pages may inadvertently Necro an old interest check that was meant to lay dormant. In the case above honorandpride was at work and bumped up a few threads with the honest mistake of not realising it would take up a large portion of the front page. (also thank you so much for being understanding and I hope you do get an enjoyable RP)

What multiple threads can be covered by is the new clarification on the spam rules:
"Spamming includes both the posting of unrelated material on the site and excessive posting of the same content across multiple topics and forums.

The reason why I am talking about the spam rules are because if we were to compare the 1x1 section to say casual, no one would really have a major concern if someone tried to start up three casual RPs at once, and yet in the 1x1 section it can create an unwanted stress on those who get bumped off the main page. It's also worth noting that in one casual RP you can get 5 or 6 applicants while in a 1x1 it's maybe just 1, as well as you might have a SFW interest check and a NSFW one too.

In the end this kind of stuff does happen on a rareish occasion, maybe twice a year, and it's easier to just PM people and remind them that others are looking for people too, rather than pinning a thread for a people who read it and already do the right thing when some people don't even read the rules to start with.
