TEAM CHAOTIX
Finding Their Way, At Green Hill
Vector let Amy's complaints sit, not exactly sure if 'GPS' was worth explaining. That being said, considering she essentially had one for Sonic, maybe it wouldn't be as difficult as he thought. Not that there was time, minutes were counting as Mina was on a schedule; Despite Amy's enthusiasm, a reputation could be easily torn by being late to such large festivities. Not that'd be her fault, Sonic not exactly being the type you can just call like a normal person.
"Givin' we've got an idea of where he is, ought to be as easy as gettin' there before he disappears." Vector was making it sound easier than it might've been with his agreement, considering the target. Sheesh, to think this legwork could be subsided by a little bit of modern communication. Not that it mattered, now!
"Let's mosey--" He tried to be enthusiastic, but as Amy sped off he couldn't manage much more than a moment of blank staring. First his boys, now the ladies were starting a trend of ditching him? A special day, maybe, but one where things were getting a bit lousy too.
Mina's assistance wouldn't fall on deaf ears, but neither would her words towards the Sling Rings.
Old school?! Vector repeated in his mind, wondering if he was being called an old man. Not like Charmy hadn't done it before, but because it was usually a smart-mouthed kid like him, it didn't hit the croc too hard. This, though? A blow to the ego. The wink softened the blow, though. Just a little!
Not one to take such a thing sitting down, Vector instantly went for a recovery to save himself from, well, his own judgement, really.
"Gotta respect the classics! Saved me and my boys plenty of times!" He insisted, offering a toothy smirk.
"Or, more like it let me save my boys plenty of times." His slight change to a gloat was notable, he'd probably get stung if Charmy had been around to hear it. Not like it was particularly untrue, but anyone who knew the Chaotix well knew they all relied on each other, one way or another. Individual talents that made a greater unit, which would work a lot better if they actually stayed together. Vector could only wish for so much.
As Mina sped off, Vector had one hand on his Sling Ring and another on his headphones, trying to not let them fly off from the sudden burst of speed. That didn't stop a laugh from escaping him though, finding excitement in going so fast. It wasn't something he could regularly accomplish, so he took the enjoyment while it would last. He just hoped Espio and Charmy weren't causing a problem, or getting lost.
As Tails brought up Vector, Charmy's eyes widened.
"Aw, crud! We totally forgot the boss when we came out here." He remarked, figuring the croc was fine regardless. But if they already knew where to go, then that meant he was falling behind! He'd have to get the info and get flying, quick! Or else their boss would beat them there, and then he'd have all sorts of boasting he'd do when they got back to the office. He was ready to shake the information out of Tails, but his frantic nature was momentarily paused at the fox brought up Espio.
A small laugh escaped the bee.
"E-Espio, huh?" Nervously, Charmy looked back. At the loop. Where he and Espio had been talking before. There was a notable lack of a ninja atop the loop, which made the young boy laugh a little more, cringing.
"Ooooooh." He scratched his nose, his gaze meeting back with Tails.
"I might have accidentally forgot him, too." He admitted, slightly guilty.
Shrugging, Charmy wouldn't cry over spilled milk.
"He'll catch up! How about we track down Sonic? If you saw Mina Mongoose, you probably know we're in a hurry!"
Catching up was what Espio was attempting to do. Thankfully, his speed was immensely helpful in keeping up with Charmy's flight, though the bee still had some distance on him due to his head start. Starting to move in the most direct route involved a little more acrobatics, but served as a good workout after the meal. A leap off of a high ledge allowed him to descend quickly, landing on branch after branch in multiple trees to keep from falling too far. His shift from each tree was quick, a purple blur being most of what any observer would see.
Hitting the ground, Espio was able to pick up on speed. Thankfully this didn't impact his ability to react, traversing through the trees yielding a few fallen ones in his path. One was a bit high, prompting him to lower himself, sliding under it before springing over the second with a palm barely grazing the tree, landing on his feet without losing much speed at all. He'd catch a glimpse of Charmy and Tails in the sky occasionally, telling him he was going the right way. It wasn't terribly hard to imagine that Tails knew where Sonic was, especially since Charmy hadn't seemed to make an attempt to come back to get him.
He was a brat sometimes, for sure. Espio was upset, though he'd just let the celebrations today make up for it. This was, admittedly, a sloppy job. Having left Vector behind was bad enough, but Charmy went ahead in such a reckless manner and then lucked out on finding Tails... They'd have to get on his case later about being so careless, they taught him better. But he
was just a kid, so what were they really going to do? It was part of his... Uniqueness, anyhow.
