BIO: While he won’t tell the others, he didn’t ’win’ the lottery. When your family is as rich as his is nothing is beyond their reach. After a few shady deals and some further dealings usually better left unknown, his number miraculously came up.
Now we’re not talking wealth like some CEO or government official, no. His family’s wealth dwarfed people like that and made them seem poor in comparison.
It was the type of wealth that could alter nations and rewrite history. The kind of wealth that could only come from exploiting people, or worse, the planet.
PERSONALITY: Secretive. A boundary pusher. Spoilt. Gambler.
TRAINING: Social sciences. Martial arts. All the maths and statistics. Card counting.

As for the sheet it's not too much. But before I finish working on my character I have a few questions? What year is this RP set in? Also I know we have sleeper colony spaceships, but what is the level of technology in other areas? I'm toying with including cybernetics or genetic manipulation in my character so I thought I'd ask before I wrote it up only to find I couldn't use these concepts. Thanks for reading my questions!

Ye, of course, questions are welcome! Imunna say its like ... 2320, so we're far enough into the future to have tech but not so far out that like ... human civilization is all weird and unrecognizable. Other tech has advanced at a similar rate, I would accept cybernetics considering the kinds of things that exist today, and same with genetic manipulation. I hadn't actually thought of genetic stuff but i could see it being integrated into the prep for the mission, giving candidates the best chance of survival in such a different environment. For general tech tho, imagine if like ... everything ppl were working on NOW was perfected and even getting to the next lvl ... if that makes any sense.

Hmm I probably wouldn’t want him designated a command role, in fact he probably shouldn’t have even got woken up for this ‘crisis’.
But he was, and people might start to realise he has no real role to play in the emergency. While smart and gifted he doesn’t specialise in any of the critical fields.
Depending how dynamics go he might push for that commander role or simply step into it, partially because he is good at but mainly because he is not so good at being told what to do.

Thanks for answering my questions! So my character idea is Kai Harris, a biology student from New Zealand. He is a designer baby, having his genetics altered in the womb so that he would excel academically and physically as that was a trend among parents at the time. Basically he was in university by the time he was 13 studying astro biology. Due to his academic credits he was made an officer aboard one of the colony ships. How does that sound?

@Dark Lightlol ye I kinda got that from the profile xD I mean he's going to be figured out pritty quick either way, the colony ship crews are supposed to be like ... finely tuned human survival machines with only the most essential parts. The reason he could prolly fake command is because its the easiest to fake. U know, the qualifications are all like ... being calm under pressure and level headed and stuff, besides learning mission protocols and stuff. I mean its that or he tries to fake like astrophysics.

Was working on my character sheet, but the holiday season has caught up with me, so I'll probably be busy until boxing day. Just wanted to let you know I am still interested even if I disappear for a few days.

It happened so long ago now, it feels like a legend, or a children's story.

Once upon a time, on a night like any other, the great minds of our planet were pouring over the sky in search of answers, as they had done and would do countless times. At the peak of the northern sky they saw something, something that couldn't be seen with the eye. It was a hole in space, hungry and dark, small as a moon but more massive beyond reckoning. Powerless to intervene, they watched the hole plunge into the sun, drinking of its solar blood before bursting free from the other side. Damage done, it disappeared back into the unknown as suddenly as it had arrived.

Injured, bleeding, the sun lashed out at us. Millions were killed, millions more burned or poisoned. Systems failed or were destroyed, storms rocked every country on earth, forests and cities burned, mass panic gripped the globe, it was hell for weeks as we waited for the sun to die and take us with it, or relent and begin to heal. The same great minds that had watched powerless before argued among themselves about what would happen now, as if it would make any difference to the sun.

They would not emerge in agreement until after the sky returned to normal. The news was grim. Where the sun would have lived for a millennia, it now had only centuries. This time, instead of panic, people were sad, a happy kind of sad ... the human race is different when you can see the finish line. What was the point in accomplishing anything with only a generation left. That's what most people thought at first anyway, but a few people thought differently, and started to convince the rest.

If Earth was doomed, then a new home would have to be found. People would have to be chosen to survive, ships would need to be built. Much had been done in the hundred years prior, divisions between countries and individuals holding back progress, surely a united people could accomplish what needed to be done in a hundred more.

November 17th, 2337 - Ursa Minor is the last of fifteen deep space colony ships to be launched from earth before the sun goes critical, passing Pluto as humanity's home planet is swallowed up by the sun. The crew is already in stasis, the computer initiating measure to follow a course selected before the first rivets and welds were ever put in place. Each on board has accepted that they may never wake up again, knows what is at stake if they do, knows there is no home now to return to, that home is now something to be found and made anew.

No one can say if they will succeed or fail, only time will tell.

Still around. I've been sick in bed since boxing day (not COVID, I took a test) and haven't been able to work on anything that requires my computer. I've finally felt well enough today to get on my computer and give an update. I hope to finish my character sheet my tomorrow.
