Name: Syaoran "Sai" Kuli Chandler Hero Name: Seraph Known Alias': Age: 11 years Powers: Syaoran inherited his mother's powers and abilities, with some minor variations.
Super Strength (~1 ton): Syaoran is roughly ten times stronger than an adult human male.
Visual Light Manipulation: Syaoran can manipulate a broader spectrum of the visual electromagnetic spectrum than his mother, giving his powers a more "rainbow-like" effect. These can be used to generate light sources or kinetic force blasts.
Flight: Syaoran can fly using his light manipulation powers, leaving a rainbow trail in his wake.
Equipment: Nintendo Switch, Smart Watch Skills: Hand-to-Hand Combat, Shi'ar technology Appearance: A skinny pre-teen, Syaoran displays a predominantly Shi'ar physiology, with the most prominent feature being the feathers that grow from his head (in lieu of the hair exhibited in humans). Like his mother, Syaoran's feathers do not adopt the traditional "triangular" shape, being instead downturned and giving him a more bed-headed appearance. His eyes exhibit the same markings and lines as his mother, as well as her same violet irises. While lighter in skin tone than the average Shi'ar (or his mother), Syaoran's pigmentation is more golden than the typical pink hue of a Caucasian.
Known Associates: Excalibur (by virtue of his mother), John Constantine (by reputation only, by virtue of his father) Known Adversaries: Rev. Craig Sinclair, who believes the union of man and alien is an afront to God's image or design. By extension, Syaoran is a known target of both the Purifiers and Friends of Humanity. Canon Basis: Son of Cerise and Chas Chandler.
Bio: It is a tale as old as science fiction itself. Cab driver working in London. Hot alien warrior chick crashes through roof of said cab, and the two fall in love whilst fighting for their lives in SoHo. Well, Cerise did most of the fighting and Chas did most of the driving, and when it was all said and done the two were alive -- and Chas discovered the Shi'ar don't use anything resembling currency on this planet. So, instead, he got her to agree to a coffee date. Then she left to save the world, but they saw each other again. Then again. One thing led to another and Syaoran was conceived six months later -- much to both their surprise, given that they were two different species.
Honor compelled Cerise to bring their family together before the child was born, a tense period for their relationship before the two unlikely partners tied the knot in Avalon. Over the next ten years, both would sacrifice their careers at times for the sake of raising the son that they had brought into the world. Chas stopped driving for awhile to be a stay at home dad, then Cerise took a leave of absence from Excalibur after a harrowing sequence of events that had nearly cost them all of their lives.
Now that Syaoran is a little older, both have been able to return to their chosen vocation with fewer reservations. Cerise still doesn't leave Earth as much as she used to, opting instead to stay behind as the rear guard while Excalibur does what needs to be done to keep England and the world safe. Likewise, Chas is home for dinner every night -- even though the most lucrative hours are when the pubs close. It leaves the family of three on a tight budget in a small flat, but it's a relatively normal life as one can have in jolly ol' England. The one exception is that both Cerise and Syaoran are clearly not human -- or not entirely human in the case of the boy. Their feathers, their distinctive eyes, and the golden hues of their skin distinguish them, which made Syaoran a rather public infant when revealed that a cab driver and an extraterrestrial had a baby.
Some of that attention has been good, or at least well-intentioned. The National Institute of Health would happily use Syaoran as a guinea pig for research purposes. Others have been ill-intentioned, whether intended or otherwise. The Right Reverend Craig Sinclair being the foremost voice in opposition, stoking religious fervor and even at times appearing to call for violence in response. These messages have found their home among those who believe humanity has lost its way, such as the Purifiers or Friends of Humanity. At times a nuisance. At other times a very real threat. While his mother has schooled him in the ways of the Shi'ar warrior culture, she knows that she cannot protect him all of the time. So the family turns to Tony Stark's new initiative, in the hopes that Syaoran can learn to protect himself and others -- and maybe make friends of connections to help keep him safe as well.
Neuro-Kinetic Armour - An advanced set of armour from far in the future, the armour is linked directly to Hiro’s mind, allowing him to control it mentally. The armour is both durable, having most attacks bounce off it, and strong, allowing Hiro to lift five tons. Hiro can also fire concussive blasts out of the fingertips of the suit, knocking things back with the force of several tons of dynamite. Hiro can also use this innate energy in the armour to fly.
The neuro-kinetic part of the suit comes in that the suit can transform to mirror Hiro’s thoughts. This could be something like creating a shield, spikes, or changing colour. Hiro can also manipulate the energy in the suit to do various things, such as shooting energy blasts, creating an energy barrier, forming different chemical shots, or emitting various types of particles. Hiro can also mentally hack into nearby computer systems using the suit’s wireless connection.
Skills:
Hiro has a genius level intellect and is one of the smartest mortals on Earth. He is easily able to create new inventions and modifications for any situation. He has several degrees earned during his time with SHIELD, specializing in physics, robotics, genetics, biochemistry, weapons technologies, programming, and repair.
Appearance:
Hiro has the average body of a teenager, standing at 5’8’’ with a slim build. His skin is slightly, while his eyes and hair are dark brown in colour. His skin is blemish free, with no scars, tattoos or other marks. He tends to wear plain clothes, avoiding vibrant colours. Quite often he’ll just wear a white sweater and black jeans. The default appearance of his armour is a bulky metal design that is silver and crimson in colour. There are several glowing yellow circles all around the armour, while the helmet has eyes, a nose, and a mouth.
Known Associates:
Robin - The sidekick of the Batman, they helped save Hiro from Toyman. (I’m leaving it open to who the current Robin is in case someone wants to play them or use them in their back story.)
Suberboy - They sidekick of Superman, they also helped save Hiro from Toyman. (Also leaving this open in case anyone else wants to use them.
Bentley-23 - A clone of the villain the Wizard. Was recruited into the SHIELD think tank around the same time as Hiro. While Hiro does find him annoying, he is probably Hiro’s closest friend at SHIELD.
Known Adversaries:
Kang the Conqueror - A time travelling tyrant. Hiro learnt that he is destined to grow up to be him. Hiro will do everything in his power to prevent that from happening. Depending where or in what time line you encounter Kang, he may go by Rama-Tut, Immortus, Scarlet Centurion, or any other multitude of name.
Winslow Schott - The original Toyman. A villain from Metropolis, he kidnapped a young Hiro. While he was captured and Hiro freed, Hiro still has a lot of animosity toward him.
Born in Tokyo to a family of scientists, Hiro showed that he had an incredible intellect from a young age. Upon graduating from high school at the age of eleven, Hiro was scouted by SHIELD, being offered a spot in their advanced science think tank. It was here that Hiro decided that he wanted to be a superhero, as he watched the members of the Justice League work with SHIELD. While Hiro was usually regulated to a background role, working on gear or research projects, he would get a chance to shine eventually.
When Hiro was fifteen a race of aliens called Appellaxians attacked Earth, each of their warriors seeing if they could conquer a major city. The Justice League was quickly spread thin fighting these giant monsters around the planet. Realizing that this was a chance to prove himself, Hiro activated one of his creations, a giant Composite Superman-Batman robot. Controlling the composite robot, Hiro was able to defend his hometown of Tokyo from an Appellaxian. Following this triumph, Hiro would become notable throughout SHIELD for his constructs. Some would even dub him the Toyman.
Unfortunately this moniker was already in use. The insane Winslow Schott, the original Toyman, took offence to the use of his title, so he kidnapped Hiro. The young genius was trapped in a toy factory for a week before he was rescued by Robin and Superboy. This event proved to be traumatic for Hiro who promptly took some time off from SHIELD. During this time Hiro would try and do some soul searching.
But that search would lead him to meeting Kang, a time travelling warlord. Kang took Hiro to the future where he revealed that Hiro would grow up to become Kang. Initially not believing him, Hiro was convinced when Kang showed him key moments in the time line. Kang would then start training Hiro, grooming him for his future purpose. Hiro would spend a year travelling the time stream with Kang, the whole time looking for a way to escape. He would get that chance when Kang left to battle his arch nemesis, the Fantastic Four.
Hiro would break into Kang’s armoury, and steal a set of advanced neuro-kinetic armour. Hiro would then attempt to use the time portal on Kang’s time ship to head back to his own time. But he screwed up and sent himself a few years too late. Hiro would arrive in a world where he had been forgotten, believed dead for three years. But Hiro would immediately try and approach the Justice League to warn them of Kang, hoping to join them in an effort to avoid the future he witnessed. Iron Man would tell him that he was still too young, but did recommend instead the Young Justice Avenger Initiative. Hiro would eagerly join, deciding on the name Iron Lad.
Name: Melissa Dinah Lance Hero Name: Songbird Known Alias': Screaming Siren, The Canary, Age: 20 Powers: Melissa has the ability to create various sonic effects through the combined action of her vocal chords and harness. She can produce the following effects:
Sonic Scream Can create an ultrasonic shockwave powerful enough to stun or injure foes as well as objects. She is also able to create a number of disorientating effects by using a specific note or oscillating between two notes (the effects she can cause are vertigo, nausea, confusion, dizziness and unconsciousness)
Sonar By sending out a precise, pure note and listening to the returning, altered wavefront of the note, she can evaluate her surroundings in total darkness
Constructs Her harness allows her to manipulate sound waves into physical constructs. She is able to create wings that allow her to fly or shields that protect her from incoming bullets/blasts etc.
Equipment: Voice augmenting Harness - The harness enhances her natural powers and also enables her to have finer control over them.
Skills: Investigation Melissa has experience in using deductive reasoning to come to a conclusion. She uses this to analyse a variety of situations including crime scenes.
Martial Arts Melissa has extensive training in various martial arts including Krav Maga, Aikido, Hapkido, Judo and Tae Kwon Do.
Gymnastics and Acrobatics Melissa has years of experience in both gymnastics and acrobatics. Studying both in order to build agility and flexibility.
Appearance:
Melissa looks somewhat like a dainty doll standing at only 5"5' and 125 lbs. She’s slender with a small bust and hips and a delicate heart-shaped face. However, she is stronger than she appears. She has a toned musculature from years of experience in Gymnastics, various martial arts and acrobatics. Her most striking features are her piercing blue eyes and white-blonde hair.
Hair is white blonde, not pink as it is in this picture.
Known Associates: Ted Grant (Wildcat) Friend of her mother who has trained her since she was a young child
Roy Harper (Speedy) The sidekick of Green Arrow, he and Melissa have been friends and training partners since childhood. He’s a close friend.
Green Arrow A friend of her adoptive father, she thinks of him as a sort of uncle and trains with his sidekick Roy.
The Fixer The fixer is an associate of her fathers and after her father’s death, he gifted her with the power augmenting harness explaining that her father had requested one be made for himself but that the fixer thought she should use it instead. She also goes to him when she is in need of information on specific technology etc.
Hawkeye Melissa was rescued from Baron Zemo by Hawkeye.
Known Adversaries: Discord A villain that held a grudge against Melissa for deafening him with her sonic scream.
Baron Zemo An associate of her father’s Melissa had met Zemo on several occasions. However after her father died, Zemo abducted her with the intention of indoctrinating her and using her to aid HYDRA. Though she was rescued she still hates and fears Zemo.
Canon Basis: An amalgamation of Melissa Gold (Songbird and Screaming Mimi) and Dinah Laurel Lance (Black Canary)
Personality
Melissa learned very early in her life that showing her emotions was a weakness, something that could be exploited. Her father consistently trained her to never show vulnerability and as such, she learned to use humour as a facade. Consequently, she never appears to take anything seriously and is often sarcastic. She does not like to talk about herself and will deflect with humour whenever she’s asked anything personal.
Obviously, she does feel emotions she’s just not very good at expressing them or asking for help and on the occasions when she can’t hide her feelings she usually displays them as anger. But considering she was ‘raised’ by a ruthless criminal intent on turning her into a weapon, she’s actually not as screwed up as you’d expect. Perhaps the biggest impact this childhood had was on her outlook on things, she’s incredibly cynical for someone her age.
She is also more likely to use underhanded/criminal methods to get the job done. She wouldn’t kill anyone but she has no issue with using her contacts in the criminal world to get information. Sometimes her methods do come close to the line, such as beating a suspect for information or using someone as bait, but she never crosses it.
Bio:
Melissa’s life has never been a simple or easy one. From the moment she was born it seemed she was destined to face strife. She never knew her mother and was told by her father, that she was a one night stand he had had. He only discovered Melissa after her mother appeared demanding money. Her father was a career criminal and did not take kindly to having anyone demand anything from him and turned his back on them. However, a few weeks later he found Melissa abandoned outside his home. Neither he nor Melissa ever saw her mother again.
Her father, Eli Gold, initially did not intend on raising Melissa but after a few weeks, he’d changed his mind and decided to raise her as his own. However, Eli was not in any way a normal parent and Melissa’s childhood was spent basically learning how to be a criminal. From practically the moment she could walk he had her begin training under various of his associates learning multiple martial arts, gymnastics and more. Determined to mould her in his image he did not allow her to do anything that didn’t further her education.
Her playtimes consisted of learning how to clean and maintain weaponry, how to analyse and investigate scenarios and most importantly learning to control her powers. By the time she was 12 she was a black belt in multiple martial arts and capable of planning criminal operations and analysing information. Her life was changed dramatically however when her father and his team were caught and imprisoned. Having been trained and emotionally manipulated by her father for her entire life Melissa went on the run. But although she was very skilled for a 12-year-old she was still only a child and she was found.
She was put into the foster system and things could have gone much worse but Melissa was lucky. She was fostered, and then adopted, by Larry Lance (a police officer) and his wife Mimi. Given her unusual upbringing, the couple recognised that they couldn’t just raise her as a normal child. Larry was friends with the hero Green Arrow and asked the archer for his assistance, he agreed to train Melissa building on the skills she’d learned. Gradually with the help of Green Arrow, Roy, and Larry, Melissa began to be more of her own person and she decided she wanted to be a hero.
She spent the rest of her childhood and teenage years learning not only skills she would need to fight crime but also about things Eli had never bothered to teach her such as history, pop culture and more. When she was 18 Melissa began to join Speedy and Green Arrow on their crimefighting endeavours and it was during one of these that she came face to face with her father. Eli had escaped from prison and was hell-bent on getting her back and seeking revenge on those who had taken her and corrupted her.
However, Melissa refused to leave with him and fought against him. Unfortunately during this battle, Melissa’s emotions about her father boiled over and she lost control of her powers. Her sonic scream killed her father and deafened one of his team (Discord) Melissa was devastated at what she had done and when she discovered she couldn’t use her powers, believed it to be a good thing. But she’d only overtaxed them and after a few weeks, she was fully restored. Frightened by her loss of control she was determined to never use her abilities again but The Fixer changed that. He had always had a soft spot for her and even though they were on opposite sides of the law he had always kept an eye on her.
In a discreet manner, he arranged for her to receive a gift that he had been holding onto for the last year. Something he had made for her father but now thought she should have. Initially reluctant, Melissa eventually took and used the gift (the power augmenting harness) which allowed her to control her abilities to a much stronger degree. In the two years since her father’s death, she has continued to work with Green Arrow and Speedy to fight crime.
Hawkeye, unbeknownst to her, was the one who sponsored her for the Tony Start Initiative as he has been keeping a discreet eye on her over the last couple of years after seeing her potential during and after her rescue from Baron Zemo’s clutches.
Hero Name: NA - "I am not that kind of hero. I don't wear lavish suits, parading around in a mask, the truth is that I recognize I am probably incredibly plain to people. Incredibly so."
Known Aliases: Joker's Son, Niel, Ace of Knaves [Thought it was funny at the time], Joker Junior [call me that to my face and I will stab you in the eye no questions asked], Doppelganger
Powers: Poison Immunity - No man could literally fall into a vat of chemicals and live. Any ordinary human would have instantaneously died. It's questionable how the Joker came to be, questionable how he even survived a vat of chemicals. The only logical conclusion would be some sort of immunity to the poisons that altered the man sometime ago. This poison immunity was then inherited to Nathan. Who has immunity at best for most known poisons, and at least mild resistance to more lethal strains of unknown toxins that his body adapts to.
*Notes: How this work is that Nathan is immune to all known poisons, cyanide, arsenic, chloroform, even his own Father's poisonous gases, etc. However, Nathan is not immune to unknown poisons from alien planets. He is resistant to these poisons they may affect him, but his body learns to break them down like a virus and provides its own anti-venom to the solution. Over time, and with a ton of exposure Nathan will become immune to that toxin.
Enhanced Physicality - Sure he isn't invulnerable like some folks are, but Nathan can take or give a big beating before ever succumbing to physical exertion, or even succumbing to his physical wounds. For all intense and purposes Nathan is beyond peak human physical fitness, he sits at the teetering edge of being as freakish as a Meta Human, but at the lower tier. This means he's more agile than others, combine this with his uncanny predictions and Nathan can react far more quickly to a situation than others can. It means he has more stamina than the average human, even the average human with peak physical human attributes. Nathan has always proven with his freakish unnaturalness that he may not be simple an average, ordinary Human.
"Machine" Mind - Both parents displayed genius level of intellect, Joker was always well known as a Super Genius Mind, while Harley's unpredictable nature probably disguised the intelligence hiding within. This level of intelligence has been inherited by Nathan, though with some caveats. While Nathan does have a genius level of intelligence, this has developed into a far more sharper capability. Nathan is able to make some extremely fast, impossible levels of predictions in given circumstances. It's what makes him so deadly at his job as an investigator, as well at hand to hand combat, where he can react to others faster than what is humanly possible.
Hyper-Mobile - There are just things Nathan can slip into that shouldn't be humanely possible, narrow bars, slipping into narrow crevices. He's not made out of rubber and he's not going to extend his body out like Reed Richards, he's just able to ferret his way through cracks and crevices he shouldn't be able to. We're not talking going under doors level of hyper mobile, we're just talking locked gates, narrow - narrow tunnels. And overall movement in hand to hand combat, giving him an uncanny ability to weave and dodge a lot more than a traditional human.
Notes: The drawback to almost of Nathan's capabilities is that he is still Human. It's uncertain if Nathan is just an extraordinary Human, or if he is a Meta Human. Nathan can still get injured, case in point his brain damage, he can still get sick from the cold and flu. He's not going to go toe to toe with the likes of someone like Superman, except with some extreme luck.
Equipment:
Grinmaker - "Yeah. Yeah. I get it. It's why I don't say it out loud. I admit it's a crude joke." Nathan carries on him a multipurpose Knuckle Knife, he named Grinmaker. He thought it was funny at the time, though he probably realizes now why some people's eyes twitch when he calls it by name. The knife gives Nathan the flexibility of using it's blade in combat or switching up the grip and using the knuckle portion in a fight.
Knee Slapper - "Okay. I get it. I have problems. I am not even going to defend myself this time." A crowbar. An axe. It's the knee slapper, a multipurpose, crudely made, slapped together axe crowbar combination. That Nathan utilizes in multiple ways, using the crowbar portion to trip others and sweep them onto the floor. Or to deflect incoming attacks from longer range weaponry. The axe portion can be used to break locks, door handles...break knees.
Chemical Grenades - "No fancy names. Okay I lied." Nathan carries on him chemical grenades, he's engineered himself, considering his Mother's connection with Poison Ivy, who his Father is. Nathan with some help has been able to design a few small, but capable chemical grenades;
Sleepy - A grenade that once the pin is pulled releases a sleeping toxin into the room, which Nathan is immune to all of his chemical grenades, putting those who breathe it in to sleep. Those who are resistant to his sleep bomb, may feel just slightly drowsy. The duration of this sleep affect is based on a person's own immune system. If you have no resistances or immunity, you'll probably be out for a few hours, if you have some resistances you'll likely be out for at least half n hour to an hour, and those resistance to it might shake off the sleepiness within fifteen minutes.
Grumpy - Releases a toxin of poisonous gas that causes mild parallelization for a duration of time. See above. All grenades are based on how the victim of the chemical gases react on a biological standpoint.
Wheezy - Strong coughing poison, that makes a person's throat feel like it is on fire, starting a coughing attack they cannot control. A much milder mustard gas that simply makes someone throat burn, starts a coughing fit, and gives them teary eyes. As noted above all grenades are based on how an individual is immune or resistant to a chemical.
*Note: The drawback of Nathan's grenades being based on someone's biology is a drawback built from Nathan's own will to not outright create grenades that could kill a person. It's with great resistance of his own mental state to create irritating grenades that require at worst medical treatment for the average person, and a bit of time to shake off from a metahuman versus outright being lethal.
Tablet - "How else am I supposed to gather notes? I am super intelligent, I don't have super memory." Nathan carries on him a tablet, in which he records information about a place or keeps his notes on people. It's the tool he uses the most during investigations.
Skill:
Cold Reading - With Nathan's extraordinary intelligence and prediction skills, Nathan is exceptional at analyzing a situation and his environment. Within moments of entering a place of building or speaking with a person, Nathan is making a mental list of the things he needs to consider and take note of. Potential escape routes, potential dangers. A person's ticks, nervous habits, even potentially getting an instinctual feeling whether or not someone is being genuine with him or not.
Escapologist - Considering who Harley is and who the Joker is, Nathan has been taught on how to escape a number of restraints, traps, and other methods of containment. Nathan can break out of handcuffs, straight jackets, even cages.
Mixed Hand to Hand to Combat - Though not trained in one specialization or another, Nathan was taught by Harley, and even at some point in the Teen Titans with hand to hand combat. A consistent rivalry with Robin a.k.a Damien Wayne, meant that Nathan used his intelligence and prediction abilities, learned Damien's combat skills, in order to otherwise best him. Nathan's skill of hand to hand combat, compiles a cocktail of skills and techniques from all over, his mother's acrobatic gymnast approach to hand to hand combat, his Father's knife fighting techniques, Damien Waynes street-boxing style, even some of Batman's assassination martial arts style. As well as Nathan's own knowledge using his predictions, hyper mobility, and slippery movements he is mixed with Russian Knife combat, Sambo martial arts without weapons, and other influences.
Master of Disguise - With the combination of his intelligence, cold reading, and prediction capabilities. Nathan uses these skills in order to dawn different disguises. He's no shape shifting freak who can change his appearance at will, instead he has had to learn different techniques in order to disguise himself as whomever and anyone; Sewing, Nathan makes his own costumes, and sews his own clothing together in order to dawn his disguises. He usually stakeouts a place and/or persons in an environment to make this convincing.
Acting, using his cold reading and intelligence Nathan learns the habits of others in order to perfectly mimic the way they walk, talk, and act. He goes above and beyond this, however, by learn to imitate their quirks and odd habits that other who know them best would know.
Makeup, sometimes in order to convince others that he is someone else or this is somewhere he belongs he uses makeup in order to achieve this. The number of times he had watched his Mom dawn makeup on, he learned mostly from her.
Voice Impressions, sometimes to better be a person you have to learn how they speak. How they use language, what words they choose, and their accents.
Drawing and Painting - Due to Nathan's err - moody and unpredictable mental health, it was suggested to him that he should gather a hobby that might help him de-stress and relax his mind a bit more. Nathan has always been interested in drawing and painting even when he was a child, and so it was easy for him to reconnect with that artistic and creative side of himself. In his spare time Nathan prefers to be on his own, painting or drawing in peace and silence.
Appearance: Harley? No. At first glance from a distance you can see the resemblance, but getting closer you recognize that "she" is a he. Tall and lanky, there is something foreboding about his presence - in fact there is something familiar in everything about his appearance. While, tall, and skinny, it is clear in the lean muscle in his arms, and his upper torso that he has a lot of upper body strength. Long and skinny legs, you realize when he smiles at just the right time - Joker? Blonde hair, cut in a bob with bangs that sweep across his eyes, Nathan's not fond of his blue eyes. In fact when you look him straight in the eye you see someone with a fractured mind, slightly unhinged and he tries to use his bangs as a way to hide this fact from others. Natural dark circles under his eyes and pale skin, his facial features are similar that of Harley Quinn, his mother. Her nose shape, her angular features. Though his build and height is similar to that of his Father standing at the midpoint of both of them at 5'9". He dresses like a typical private investigator, with a long black trench coat, and often wears monochromatic suits - mostly of black and white. A fedora shadows his eyes, once again to divert anyone's gaze on him almost. You'd almost think he was an average person, dressed in the way he is, until he opens his trench coat and you realize the amount of utility pockets hidden on the inside, carrying his weaponry, and other equipment like he's the merchant from Resident Evil.
Personality: Nathaniel is a complicated individual, probably nearly as complicated as both his parents, though his complications were likely never inherited. Instead developed over time due to who his parents are. There is a genuine struggle of identity in Nathan, on one hand he can actually be quite protective and caring of others. Making him an actual genuine hero, someone who saves others and can often times be quite selfless in this pursuit. Someone who genuinely cares for the well being of others, and goes out of his way to support them as best as he can. Does nothing give good advice? Maybe not always, but he tries his best to be there for those who need it. With as much trauma Nathan has, Nathan genuinely doesn't want people to go through the things he has been through or is going through.
However, this sincere humanity to Nathan is often a spiraling mess while Nathan struggles with his mental health the brain damage that makes it harder for Nathan to control his traits of psychopathy. While there is a Nathan who is kind, protective, maybe even heroic at times, there is also a Nathan who is unhinged at times. Nathan has described it as his brain glitch. In the past, he may have had a handle on being able to detect when he was going too far. Though these days its like a part of his brain shuts off entirely and Nathan can go from simply apprehending someone to breaking their arm because he lacks the impulse control to stop himself.
Also the fact that Nathan is "well known" to be diagnosed with Bipolar Type 1 disorder. While he tries his best to manage his condition, his manic episodes are often exasperated by the damaged parts of his brain, making Nathan come off wildly unhinged at times, as he makes erratic, impulsive and sometimes even dangerous decisions. He can often times come off as reckless, dangerous, psychotic, and murderous to some. Which is Nathan's greatest fear, as he often struggles to separate himself from who his parents are and who he is.
This has always lead to the fact that Nathan struggles with a lot of trauma, spurred on by his explosive relationship with others, his toxic family dynamic, and Nathan's own struggle to find atonement with his actions. He seeks redemption, as this point clinging to an ideal that he could be a hero, but that ideal is slowly slipping away as Nathan battles with his own mind. To some he might not even be seen as material to be a super hero, but a super villain and they await for the inevitable to put him down like a dog.
With all that said Nathan genuinely attempts to be a good person. What keeps him from completely failing at his heroism is his sheer determination and willpower not to succumb to his conditions. Though this is also what tortures him as well.
Known Associates:
Harley Quinn - Mother
More infamously known as the Joker's lover, the two separated some time during Nathan's childhood. Harley in one of her rare moments of clarity knew she had to protect Nathan, not afraid of what the Joker would do to Nathan. More afraid of what the Joker would teach, she sought Batman's aid knowing that really only he could provide the safety they needed. Sometime as Nathan was growing up Harley became a member of the Justice League, fighting for the forces of good. Which likely is what inspired Nathan down the path he is currently on.
Joker - Father
8 million followers and counting; It's not known whether or not Joker has any association with Nathan besides in his early formative years. There is some hint that the Joker has been there in the background, defending Nathan from danger. There is a common misconception about the Joker only being self serving. Over the years he has been misunderstood as purely an agent of evil, but the Joker has always been someone to point the flaws in the system. He's recently turned over to social media where he has a large amount of followers, who watch his content focused solely on folks getting their just desserts. Either the people watching him are unaware of the actual violence of his content or don't care.
Poison Ivy
Ivy has always been there to pick up the pieces whenever Harley was struggling. She has always been a support system for Harley, especially considering her wildly toxic relationship with the Joker. When Harley split from the Joker, perhaps from some encouragement of her own fearing for Nathan's safety, they became relative close. Grew to know each other, perhaps even care for each other. Maybe at that time Harley, reeling from the lost of the Joker and seeking the guidance and care of someone in her life, they thought they loved each other. So they dated for a while. Till it became evident that for Harley it was infatuation. She had desperately relied for so long on a co-dependent relationship she was only really seeking the same things from Ivy. The two of them broke up, but Ivy never left Harley's side. They still remain close. Ivy promised Harley a long time ago to watch over Nathan.
*Raven
Raven's probably the only person who stood by his side, even after all the others turned on him. The truth was that the both of them had a lot of common. The both of them at the time, struggled with their identities and who their Father's were. What and how that defined them. During his time with the Titans, Raven and Nathan grew close. Close enough that the two teenagers dated very briefly. Despite their relationship not really working out, the way Raven and Damien may have worked out, they remain close friends simply due to the way they bonded. This probably continues to fuel Damien's spite against him.
Gotham Police - After being kicked out of the Teen Titans, Nathaniel struggled for a little while to find a drive or purpose. Especially after he was briefly thrown into Arkham Asylum. Niel has always desired to be a person of action, someone who shook the shadows people cast onto him off. Though he necessarily couldn't, he was struggling to accept the violence he can cause, and also trying to find a new purpose. He began to dive into vigilantism, but didn't really desire to be another Batman.
Known Adversaries: *Damien Wayne a.k.a Robin
It's pretty clear that Damien and Niel were never going to get along. Damien believed to ideally in his Father's ideals he might as well have been an exact clone of him at the time they met. A lot of Batman's prejudice fell onto Damien. And Damien leading the Teen Titans only really saw Niel's presence as a threat to their security and safety, much like his Father. And yet, Niel and Damien's intelligence clashed, both intelligent and bright boys. Niel was constantly changing the plan on him, had no respect for authority, and he was a risk to himself and others. It definitely infuriated him that Raven and Nathan dated briefly for awhile. Before Niel's big violent breakdown. Which Damien promptly handled - with his Father's intervention. In his eyes Niel should be securely watched, he is no hero. He's going to become a villain some day and he's watching.
My Sparkle a.k.a. Biography:
December 9th;
Nathaniel came to the world on a frosty, snowy Gotham day. Whether or not the Joker realized that Harley had slipped or even for the fact that she was pregnant, she returned maybe reluctantly or hesitantly afraid of the reaction to Nathan’s birth. To her perhaps her confusion or maybe her delight, Joker seemed to accept the newborn with relative warmth. While her relationship with the Joker had always been relatively icy, and oftentimes she felt the relationship like a noose around her neck - the Joker was surprisingly tender with the young Nathan. It frightened her. It frightened her to think the Joker would even accept him. Something had changed in the Joker or maybe she had just discovered all the things she originally had fallen for in him. His surprising tenderness, his surprising honesty. Who was this man who saw Nathan and there was a genuine smile on his face? Not the one he put on like a mask.
Deep down inside of the Joker there was a Human. A man behind the Monster and that was the Man Harley had always attempted to pull out of Joker. And for a while there it seemed she had. The Joker suddenly changed, perhaps softened up a bit, he made promises to her to take care of them both. And he did. And that weighed on her constantly. When was he going to change? When was he going to become the Monster again?
That is the environment Nathan lived in for the seven years he was growing up. The Joker an actual significant amount of his formative years. While the Joker showed none of his violent tendencies at home, he was often left in the care of Ivy when Mom and Dad had “to take care” of something. Ivy was a strangely tender babysitter, who tended to “spoil” Nathan whenever he did arrive with whatever he liked, coloring books, toys, and even treats he asked for. She taught him about her job as botanists. Nathan being very bright was a very quick learner and took to skills relatively easy.
Truth is maybe Nathan could have grown up entirely like this. With his parents' occupation hidden from him. The issue is that fact couldn’t escape past Nathaniel even if they wanted it to. There were whispers, things Harley nor the Joker could keep from him. About his parents' criminal activity. It eventually would catch up to them anyway. This “happiness” they had experienced for seven years was quickly going to fade. Perhaps this was recognized when Joker was teaching Nathan about chemical compounds. Or Nathan being a curious, and intelligent child discovered his Mom’s weapons hidden in her room.
What worried her was that he, the Joker, had no fear of Nathan discovering these things. He always knew it was inevitable that he would end up discovering it. That fact made Him ecstatic. That fact made Her nervous.
Who was Nate going to become growing up? Would he never have the opportunities to choose those things for himself? The “happiness” or perhaps maybe the delusion of them being one big happy family shattered, and all of those mirrors casting the illusion shattered, it was clear from the beginning that none of the family members were walking on eggshells, but shards of glass.
She was afraid he saw a legacy.
Joker actually worried about losing them both. Even if it weren’t clear to her or others. The Joker had always a complex set of morals and codes that no one really understood, not even Harley.
One night, convinced by Ivy who had always listened to her, had always supported her, she knew she had to take Nathaniel somewhere safer. A better environment, but knew she couldn’t abandon him. It wasn’t right, he had known her for seven years of his life. It would be cruel to leave him at an orphanage or have him adopted by some other family. She had to raise him on her own, away from Him. In hopes to give Nathan more choices, more opportunity than just to turn out like the both of them. It was a rare moment of clarity from her. Though maybe that moment of clarity from her came too late. While she was getting advice from Ivy, Nathaniel was alone with his Father.
Ultimately the Joker knew he was going to lose Harley and Nathan. Harley never fully trusted him and he couldn’t ever fully trust himself. So, he sat down with Nathaniel one final time. Knowing he’d likely not see him after tonight, it was a gut feeling, an instinctual one.
Nathaniel Joker
“Say, Nate, let’s have some fun together,”
His Father had always been supportive up to now. You could almost call him a loving and devoted Dad at the time. Nathan, unlike Harley, didn’t have the same distrust that either the Joker or Harley had about his Pops.
“What are we playing today?”
His Pops playfully rubs Nathan’s hair, and calmly, gingerly pats the floor to sit beside him.
“How about we play superheroes?”
“Okay,”
Nathan gets up to find his action figures. His Pops was weird, he had to admit, but he hadn’t ever done anything bad. Despite what the TV says about him. Should he trust him? Mom doesn’t seem to think so, but Pops hasn’t done anything to harm him. Yes, he’s kind of weird. Yes, there seems to be something beneath the surface.
“Here,” he hands the shoebox of figurines to Pops.
“See, such a good boy,”
“Ivy taught me to clean after myself or else a carnivorous plant was going to eat me,”
His Pops is rifling through the shoebox, taking out a generic looking male doll. He searches around for a pen, and grabs it. Drawing on the face of the figurine, till he is wearing a black mask, “This is Batman.”
Nathan watches with curiosity. He’s being handed “Batman”. His Pops rifles through the shoebox, and grabs one of his generic action figures. None of his toys ever match. “This is a bad guy,”
“Is Batman going to stop him?”
“Oh I am afraid so,”
Pops dumps the rest of the toys on the floor, “And this is Gotham.” He has the shoebox stand upright. Nathan nods.
“Who’s playing Batman?”
“I’ll do the honors,”
“So, I am the badguy?”
“Now let’s set the stage,”
Nathan watches intentionally.
“Another night in Gotham city, it is relatively calm, when what’s this, the bat signal,” Pops uses a flashlight, “High in the sky. Batman perched up on top of a skyscraper. He alone is the stoic hero to protect Gotham alone stares at the bat signal. He breathes in and puts on a brave face. It’s time for him to go to work.”
“That’s where I come in?”
“That’s where you come in,”
“Um, the bad guy, in question is um holding a bank up,”
“Are there any hostages?”
“Yes, I think so,”
“How many? And who is working for him?”
Nathan rifles through the pile of toys scattered on the ground, grabbing some similar looking soldiers, “4, and.” he grabs a few of the last of the dolls, “5 hostages.”
“Are they tied up?”
“Yes,”
“Continue,”
“Four armed robbers are holding up a bank, with 5 hostages,”
“What are they attempting at the bank?”
He watches his Pops. Not money. It’s generic.
“To get his girlfriend back, she works at the bank, and he’s willing to hold people hostage to earn her heart back,” Pops laughs, “What a clever setup.”
“Do I continue?”
“Play it out,”
Taking one of the generic female dolls in a pink dress, with black hair, “Get out of here. I don’t want you around.”
“Take me back,”
“Leave me alone,”
“Don’t make me hurt anyone,”
“Then she spits in his direction, I think,”
Pops is watching him, “Does he act violently after that?”
Nathan mulls it over, “I think so.”
“Then, what does he do?”
“Walks over to a hostage I think,”
“Then, what?”
“I don’t want him to shoot him, because if he shoots the hostage, then it wouldn’t get the point across, so he has to hurt the hostage-
-break his arm,” Pops suggests.
“Yes,” he nods.
Pops leans over, “Narrate.”
“The Badguy, er - Victor walks over to a hostage, a man tied up currently, he unravels his binding- -does he try to run-
-yes-
-then what happens-
-one of Victor’s allies shoots him-
-where?”
“In the head?”
He watches as his Pops tears the head off the action figure. It gives a notable pop before completely dislodging off the neck of the action figure, “Hostage 1 is dead. His blood pools out onto the floor from his forehead.” His Pops searches around the coffee table and grabs a ketchup packet. Squeezing it onto the floor.
“When does Batman come in?” he asks him.
“When everything seems dire and all is lost,”
“Cynthia is the bank teller, she screams,” Nathan continues.
“All I ever did was love you Cynthia,” Nathan speaks for Victor the action figure.
“I never loved you, you’re a Monster,”
He looks up to see if his Pops approves of the current storyline. He’s known to correct him when the storyline isn’t to his liking. So far his Pops is simply watching.
“You used to appreciate these things about me,” Victor continues.
Nathaniel looks over to the flashlight, “Victor. The bat signal.”
“Victor panics,”
“And Victor’s men?”
“They would, flee,”
“All of them,”
“One of them goes for the door,”
“And then what?”
“A shot rings out,”
“Who shot him?”
“They don’t know,”
“What then?”
“They point guns at each other,”
“Where was the man shot?”
“I think the shoulder,”
“So he’s bleeding out,”
Pops spreads some more ketchup onto the floor. Though Nathan is starting to really see it. A bank in Gotham, the real nice one with the pretty shiny, polished floor. It’s the one with the gold tiles, and the black circle in the center. Hostage 1’s blood is pooling out onto the black tile, Bad Guy 2 has been shot in the shoulder, he crumples to the floor, bleeding out. Now Victor and the group of men edgy, panicked, fearing Batman’s arrival are pointing guns at each other. Cynthia tries to duck behind the counter, perhaps to run into the back room,
“Cynthia tries to flee,”
“Someone shoots her,”
“Who?”
“I think Victor,”
“Why?”
“Because he saw movement out of the corner of his eye and they are all on edge and nervous,”
“Where is she shot?”
“Across the neck, it’s not a clean shot,”
“So Cynthia is still in the picture,”
“Yes,”
“Go on,”
“Bad Guy number 3 says they have to go,”
“Viktor is distracted, he cannot believe he shot Cynthia,”
“What next?”
“Bad Guy Number 4, probably turns his gun towards the hostages, the only way they can escape is if there are no witnesses, so he shoots Hostage 2 in the back of the head,”
“Hostage 2 is dead,”
Hostage 2 slumps onto the tile, a bullet wound through their head.
“Then, what?”
“He turns the gun to Hostage 3,”
“This is where Batman comes in,” Pops states, he has Batman descend down from the sky onto the floor, “It’s dark. Dramatic. Glass rains down onto the tile floor for what feels like the hundredth time this bank has seen it. And Batman stands impressively in the center.”
“This is where, Badguy 3 shoots at Batman,”
“Yes, go on,”
“Badguy 4 tries to shoot another hostage,”
“And Victor attempts to run, towards the counter I think where Cynthia is,”
“Batman swiftly swooshes in and takes out Badguy 4, and deflects the bullet of Badguy 3,”
“Does Victor make it over the counter?” Nathan ask. “Does Victor?” Pops ask.
“I think so,”
He sees it. Batman bust through the window. Glass raining down. The gun rings out, as Batman swoops in and uses his cape to deflect a bullet. While he punches Badguy 4 in his face. While Victor slithers over the counter, “Cynthia screams,”
“Batman notices and swings one of his batarangs at Victor,”
“It misses?”
“It’s a near miss, sticking into the wall, in front of Victor,”
“Victor grabs Cynthia who tries to run, and holds a gun to her head,”
“Is that all he does?”
“Batman’s not supposed to save the day in this scenario, is he?”
“No, do you know why?”
“Why?”
“Let’s take this back to the top, shall we?”
“Okay,”
“We will start here, Badguy 4 gun pointed at a hostage, Batman dropping in,”
“Okay,”
“Batman descends down from the window, very moody, very dramatic, it’s quite the scene, as the room grows quiet as the dark, tall stoic figure lands. Badguy 4’s finger is already on the trigger squeezing tightly, Batman notices and dives in to save the day, when Badguy 3 shoots out in a panic at Batman, Batman uses his cape to deflect the bullet, and subdues Badguy 4, but not before Hostage 3 crumbles to the floor, blood pooling out of a wound,”
“Batman was too late,”
“Precisely,”
“This has happened before?” Niel looks up at his Father, “Hasn’t it?”
“Let me tell you something about Mortal men, they are fragile, their bones break,, and their minds wither. You can break as many bones as you like,” his Father grabs an action figure ripping an arm off, “They can and they will break over and over again. And they will heal, maybe not as complete as they were. But the one thing that doesn’t heal is the mind, Nate.”
“What are you saying?”
“That night the one they don’t tell you about, the one where Batman saves the day, posing gallantly and dramatically on the news. Is also the same man as Me, he simply denies it. Every time he loses control, every time, he loses that control, he denies it. That night, Batman, failed, he failed to save one person, and he took it out on the one remaining person,”
“Victor,”
“Victor, Victor behind the counter grabs Cynthia after his batarang misses, he’s shaking and sweaty after a hostage was killed and he was too late to save them. Potentially feeling his age, but relentless and never willing to give up. He leaps over the counter, and Victor stabs Cynthia in the back. Batman saw for a brief moment that night the thing that haunts him. He grabs Victor, after Cynthia slumps to the floor. And throws him to the ground, slamming his face into the tile, it’s visceral, there is blood everywhere, and it is the first time that Batman had to recognize, that his mind is withered,”
He’s saying this by demonstrating tearing the toys apart. All of this is narrated, while his Father is ripping toys limbs off. But in Nathan’s mind, they are bones, because that is how Father has presented. He can see it, the bank, the dark bank with the polished golden tile. Stained in blood. Hearing Batman pounding Victor’s face in the tile. A primal look on his face.
“Who is the hero then?” Niel asks his Father.
“No one, everyone who believes they are heroes will eventually succumb to their mind, they will all eventually wither. The difference between I and them is that I recognize that my mind has withered and I accept that side of me. Heroes, true heroes, will never realize that their mind has withered, they will never recognize the scars, in their mind. All heroes fall, never try to be the hero, simply be the person who takes actions,”
There was one person Harley knew who may provide her and Nathan protection after fleeing the Joker. The one man who the Joker wouldn’t provoke intentionally that is. Batman. She fled with a seven year old Nathan that night after Ivy’s convincing, in a rare moment of clarity from Harley - she took a sleeping Nathan with her to contact Batman. She assumed Nathan would be asleep during the time, and she manipulated the bat signal, and waited for Him to show up.
Harley Batman He arrived as he normally did, from the shadows. Quiet despite being an impressively large man, Harley had been sitting at the edge of the signal, waiting. She hid Nathan behind the watertower in hopes Batman wouldn’t notice till she mentioned something.
“You’re not Gordon,” Batman tells her in his usual stoic way.
“No, I ain’t no old timey detective with whiskers on his face,” Harley responds.
“I assume you have a reason to be using the signal then,” Bats is clearly not amused by her presence.
“I actually do,” Harley tells him standing up, “See I need your help Bats.”
“My help? I thought you rejected that a long time ago, Harlene,”
“Oh you don’t have to big ol’ grumps about it, I get it, but this is important,”
“It better be for your sake Harlene, you’re using the signal in a way it wasn’t intended for,”
“It’s a way to contact you, ain’t it, or you just mad I ain’t your boyfriend waiting for you. It’s Harley, Bats, not Harlene. She’s dead,”
“I am listening,”
“I need one of your favors. One of your Bat favors. I’ll promise anything, as long as you help,”
“Depends on what that is,” he’s growing impatient.
Truth is this was a lot easier to rehearse, than it is to say. She had been rehearsing what she was going to say since she got here. Now staring at the man in front of her, her eyes darting back to the water tower, oh she hoped he’d stay sleeping. Because Bats is going to be mad with her. She didn’t regret having her Natey. No she wouldn’t ever regret him coming from her. The issue was people like Bats were going to unfairly judge him before he even had the chance to grow up. They take one look at Jokes and one look at her and think that’s who Natey is going to be. She wanted him to have a choice. The ability to choose who he wanted to be.
“Look I need you to promise not to get mad,” Harley begins.
Bats says nothing.
“Cause what I am gonna say is gonna make you upset,”
He continues to stare her down.
“Go on,” he finally declares firmly.
“See, there’s somethin’ you don’t know,” this was a lot harder than the Bats in her head, “But I had a kid.” She can almost see the immediate scowl on his face despite it being covered in the cowl.
“With who?” he asks so firmly it sounds like a Father. “You can’t get upset,”
He says nothing.
“You have to promise,”
He says nothing.
“I guess you can guess who it is,”
“Are you sure,”
“Well he’s the only man I know whose got one of his wands to do that sort of thing, unless Ivy got one of those I don’t know about,”
“The Joker is the father!”
He’s mad. Real mad.
“Pretty sure,” “How could you!?”
“It ain’t like I said oh yeah having a baby with the Jokes is off the table. It happened. Things like that happen no matter how careful you are-
-The Joker isn’t someone who-
-Bats it’s done and over it ain’t like I can pop him back in there, he’s seven, no way of forcing his head all the way back up. How would I even-
-There were options-
-I decided those options weren’t for me, you don’t tell me what to do with my body, already had another man do that for me-
-This is serious- -He’s already born, and is this really the first impression you wanna have with him, the big timey supah old Hero tellin’ me that I should have aborted him, or that I should find a time machine - cause there are plenty of those out there in this damnable universe- to abort him,”
“He’s here?”
Oh Natey. You were supposed to stay asleep. Nathaniel has been watching at the edge of the doorway behind the watertower. She noticed when the Bats started yelling. Immediately the Bats turns around, facing Nathaniel.
That was the first time Nathaniel had seen Him. The Batman. The one who was often talked about on the news. He’s taller in person, a living statue of a man. And Nathaniel can only think to himself, how is this the man known for his stealth? He’s so brawny, so muscular.
Harley Batman Nathaniel
“If you’re old enough to watch, you’re old enough to be part of the conversation,” Batman tells him firmly.
Niel looks up at his Mom. She smiles at him.
“He didn’t mean to spook you, Bats is just an ol’ grumps,” she tells him with a reassuring smile.
Niel steps out from behind the structure containing the staircase to the police department’s roof access. He stares up at Batman. The Batman doesn’t seem to like him very much, that’s evident. They were talking about getting rid of him. What is he even doing on top of the police station anyway? When his Mom woke him up briefly tonight, he thought most of that was a dream. But he woke up to the two adults arguing about getting rid of him.
“Are you going to get rid of me?” he asks immediately.
“Oh sugar plum,” Mom comes up to him immediately, “No never. There ain’t any way of putting you back. This ain’t like a flavor of ice cream you don’t like so you ask for a different flavor. Or putting something back on the shelf. I can’t do that with you. And if Bats thinks I am. Then I will go find someone else to help.”
She grabs his hand. Squeezing it tightly. She smiles in that way that makes him believe that everything will be okay. Even if her eyes say that she is scared and uncertain of what is going to happen. Nathaniel looks up at Batman. Who is staring down at him. This man harbors so much hate for him. He can already tell he’s wrestling with something. He’s taken back to the thing his Pops and him discussed this evening. About how heroes never know their minds are withering before they are too late. That’s the impression Nathaniel gets of the man before him too. Perhaps his Pops was a little right in the retrospective then.
“Nathaniel,” Batman addresses so firmly it sounds like Nathans been put into bootcamp.
“Yes,” he replies.
“What have your parents taught you?” he asks.
Nathan looks at his Mom and then back at Batman.
“It’s okay Natey, say what you want cause it ain’t like we taught you anything wrong,” she gives a defiant glare at Batman.
Batman glares back, if he can even glare any more than he’s already glaring.
“Well Aunty Ivy-
-Ivy!-
-She’s a friend, I am allowed to have friends Bat-
-she’s taught me about science and mathematics, I go to hers to be homeschooled is what Mom said-
-I ain’t the sharpest drawer when it comes to all that biology stuff,” Mom attempts to rectify the situation.
“And Pops,” Nathan stops as Batman stares at him.
“You consider the Joker your Father?” he ask like this is an interrogation. “Well, yes, he is My Biological Father,” Nathan snaps, not liking being judged by a man ages older than him.
“Do you know who your Father is?”
“Well, yes and no, it’s not like they can keep me from watching the news, I am seven, I am not stupid, they aren’t the same thing,” His Mom puts her arms around his shoulder, holding him close, “Its’ okay. Natey. Bats all I am asking is for you to put us in some kind of custody protection. Please.”
Batman stares at the both of them, “Fine. This is against my better judgment, but Harley, you have to agree to all and every one of my conditions.”
“I said I do anything Bats,”
Batman's protection wasn’t nearly as much protection, as it was surveillance. Harley was placed under house arrest so she could watch Nathaniel in an apartment setup for them. Nathaniel grew up for nearly half his life with cameras everywhere in their home, he too was being treated like a criminal before he even had ever been able to take an action. And then there was one other part of the agreement, when Nathaniel turned 16, he would be turned over to the Teen Titans. If there was one thing Batman always worried about was that Nathan was born evil or born with Joker qualities. He felt the best option for Nathan when he was old enough was to be reformed.
Name: Chie Jordan Hero Name: Shuriken Known Alias': Age: 18
Powers:
Peak human physicality: Training in martial arts since the moment she could stand, playing varsity sports and working out with her brother has made Chie an incredibly strong woman. She isn't super human by any regard but she can take much more of a beating than your average person, can run miles in minutes flat and can lift like a body builder. Compared to any enhanced person, she is relatively mundane, but against the average goon and gangster she far excels.
Inhuman accuracy/sight: Chie, like her mother before her, has eyes like a hawk. She can see in the dark fairly well, and can see farther than most people. This aids in her ability to hit things from far away accurately. With any gun, crossbow, or thrown item she can hit a 6 inch target from as far as 200 feet away. This isn't even adding the addition of scopes.
Equipment:
Throwing stars: Her namesake, weapons she got in a weapon store in Gotham to replicate her mother's old weapon. Hers are more streamline and generic, being 4-prong shurikens.
Extendable staff: Much like robin's own, a metallic staff that extends and collapses for convenience. It's not particularly sturdy, as it is hollow but it's hard enough to pack a wallop.
Taser: For more intense situations or when trying to incompacitate someone, a hand held market-strength taser is at her disposal. Since it's loud, she often tries not to resort to this item. It was given to her by her mother, as a means of protection on the streets of gotham.
Skills:
Acrobatics and parkour: Chie has long since learned to traverse the sprawling cityscape in it's entirely. Be it scaling walls, jumping building to building, riding rails, and all things in between. This applies to her fighting skills as well, capable of doing flips, splits, and all in-between.
Martial arts: Years if training, sparring and real life experience has turned Chie into a surprisingly dangerous teenager. She is capable of fighting hand to hand, with a variety of melee or throwing weapons, and has adopted a mixed style of Karate, kick boxing, wrestling and street techniques she has leaved over time. Chie's skills rival a professional fighter, because as a super hero; she is one!
Stealth and lockpicking: Picked up from her more rambunctious side of life, Chie is skilled in avoiding people's notice. Her mother taught her how to walk and jump silently, as well as how to quiet her breathing. Experience has taught her where to hide and how to trail some one inconspicuously. Chie learned to lock pick on her own and while not a master, the skill comes in handy.
Expert driver: Chie can drive motorcycles at high speeds expertly. It goes without mentioning this includes weaving around obstacles and doing dangerous jumps and other stunts. Her skills rival any dare devil or drag racer.
Appearance:
A short and stout woman, Chie has broad shoulders and an athletic build. Her hair is long, about to her shoulders, and jet black. Her skin is fair and her eyes are a dark brown.
Known Associates:
Kyoko Jordan, an ex-member of S.H.E.I.L.D. is now a woman enjoying her early retirement. A mother of two, Kyoko sometimes has to derive her attention amongst her family but Kyoko is Chie's rolemodel and in many way's her Mentor. They are good friends and the teen angst expected between them is seemingly non-existent as they both respect and enjoy one another for who they are. Kyoko can sometimes be a bit overbearing though, pressuring her child and expecting greatness from her. She will always accept her daughter no matter her abilities, but she knows Chie is capable of a lot.
Doug Jordan, father of two, Husband of Kyoko and proud attorney is the lawkeeper in the house. He keeps strict rules in the house and is an orderly person. He loves his family, even though they often break his rules or cause him stress. He is a patient person, but her shows his disapproval at almost anything. A tall and scary looking man, he is secretly a sweet heart.
Derrick Jordan is Chie's older brother, soul confidant and is currently studying at a university on the other side of the country in California. Derrick is a laid-back stoner and is considered the black sheep of the family. He constantly encourages Chie's more rebellious, free spirit and can be a jerk at times. Still, he would drop everything for his family.
Chie's best friends at her high school make up her normal squad she hangs out with when she gets a chance. Laura is the tallest and graduated early. She works as a barista at a local coffee shops and is often trying to get Chie to join her in escapades. A sort of rival in swimming and track is heather, the tanned girl with short hair. She's prone to teasing and though the most mature of the group she tends to be condescending when she's helping others. The last, but certainly not least is the energetic sweetheart that is Chandra. Chie's first friend in Gotham and her closest friend, the two are like peas in a pod. Lately, though, because of chie's role a shuriken, they have started to distance themselves.
Niel and Chie met after Chie was nearly killed in a drug bust gone arye. They've begun a hesitant alliance, helping one another to deal with the crime in Gotham. Chie both admires and loathes Niel, seeing him as the 'real deal' vigilante, but also feeling underestimated. They both clearly keep secret from one another and have no intentions of revealing them. She is aware of his darker moments and hopes to keep him from doing anything he regrets.
Known Adversaries:
Silvermane: SIlvermane is a dangerous crimelord because of his cybernetic enhancements. Capable of hacking computers, super human abilities and loads of gadgets, these two have crossed paths a few times as Silvermane prefers to deal with trouble makers personally. Both encounters Chie has narrowly escaped with her life. Now that she has help, though, she might have more of a chance against him. Silvermane is much less quiet about his actions than her other adversaries and while his gang is easy to catch, the fear of dealing with Silvermane himself is enough to make Chie give a second thought to busting any of his operations. Silvermane mostly deals in high tech items, trading or selling to collectors or other villainous figures of all sorts. This includes, but is not limited to, Lex Luther.
Eagle Claw: A mysterious member of the league of assassins who seems to have a vendetta for the shuriken persona. Eagle claw alludes that he knows Chie's alter ego and has a grudge with her mother. He is accompanied by the people he's trained and works with anyone who wants Shuriken dead. Eagle Claw is Chie's uncle, who was the archrival of her mother in her hayday.
Kingpin: These two have not yet had any direct encounters, as Kingpin is not grounded in Gotham. His criminal empire spans much of the new england and great lakes area, and so while she is a mild inconvenience to him, Kingpin is by far Chie's biggest villain she has her eyes set on. She is frequently dealing with his goons and sooner or later he's going to take a dangerous interest in this pesky girl putting a stop to his plans. Kingpin has one of the largest criminal empires in the states and so most crime leaders have affiliations with him in one way or another.
Canon Basis: [url=Shuriken]comicvine.gamespot.com/shuriken/4005-… Bio: Kyoko, Chie's mother, was once an agent of S.H.E.I.L.D. and went on many missions through the eighties. When Loki and his army attacked, however, Kyoko was wounded and in critical condition by a frost giant. She recovered, but the event left Kyoko unable to fight. S.H.E.I.L.D. awarded her a purple heart and Kyoko was forced into an early retirement. She met a man and settled down in toronto where they raised two kids. As her kids grew up, Kyoko taught them the same martial arts she had learned throughout her life, as her kids seems to idolize her for being a hero.
Chie spent most of her childhood in Toronto as a relatively normal girl. She was sporty and close with her family, a good student and had plenty of friends. When her brother moved out, her father took a new job in Arkham city and the family moved. Chie resented her new home and her mother, fearful of having a beautiful young girl living on the streets of Gotham, Kyoko doubled down on Chie's training. Chie had a few encounters with local thugs and was surprised that her mother had taught her to capably handle them. Emboldened and angry at new living conditions, she took to the streets to save others who couldn't protect themselves like she could.
Overtime Chie's vigilante work expanded beyond beating up muggers and thugs and she started actively fighting the organized crime in the city. She adopted her mother's old persona as she owed her for teaching her everything she knows. Now, after meeting Nathaniel, Chie is hoping to advance her heroic life!

Having been undergone the ritual and given the broth of the Heart-Shaped Herb, T'Danel has been given the following powers
Superhuman Speed (Able to run at 40mph for long durations and up to 50mph in short bursts)
Superhuman Strength (Slightly stronger than the Black Panther, although this is suspected to be a by-product of his lineage, he is able to lift up to 1 ton over his head)
Superhuman Senses (He has hearing, smell and taste far more accute than the average human, he is also able to see in perfect darkness)
Superhuman Stamina (His metabolism is able to process build ups of fatigue-toxins at a greatly accelerated rate, allowing him to exert his maximum effort for a much more prolonged amount of time. This is why he can run for so fast for so long)
Superhuman Durability (Whilst not able to stop a bullet or a sharp knife, his skin has a consistency more in line with tanned leather than human skin, as well as having bones with a tensile strength more akin to processed steel than bone. This allows him to shrug off hits that would land a regular human in hospital as well as deflect most shrapnel. His ribcage can also survive punches from immensely superpowered individuals.)
Superhuman regeneration (Whilst not as advanced as someone like Wolverine, his body does heal much faster than normal humans. Repairing broken bones in days or weeks instead of weeks or months, as well as healing most minor cuts and abrasions in hours)
Superhuman Agility and Reflexes (Able to balance perfectly on pretty much any surface, he is able to dodge incoming attacks and react to dangers far faster than any regular human could. He can run at top speed across a tightrope, jump through small gaps in a single bound and allows for immense accuracy with ranged weapons.)
Equipment:
White Wolf Armour
His White Wolf Armour holds many abilities, as well as weapons inside of it that augment his powers
Vibranium Microweave (Robs any incoming attack of all of it's kinetic energy. Bullets do not ricochet off, but simply fall to the ground when they come in contact with the weave. Likewise with stabbing attacks. However, because it's only mesh, there is only so much energy that can be taken.)
Anti-Metal Vibranium Claws (Built into the fingertips of the gauntlets on the costume are claws that can cut through metal on a molecular level, meaning that the only limit to metal he can cut is it's thickness relative to his claw length)
Energy-Dampening Boots (Energy regulators create varying fields from the Vibranium in the molded soles of the boots, enabling the wearer to land soundlessly and without any injury from heights of 50 feet. Given enough momentum, the wearer can also scale walls or skim across water.)
Disguise Technology (The Armour can reform itself to appear as normal clothes or even allow for short periods of complete invisibility, utilizing the stored kinetic energy to power the cloak)
Vibranium Throwing Shards (Almost like shurikens, he can throw sharpened Vibranium fragments. These can cut through most anything, but they also absorb the kinetic energy from the throw, meaning that if they hit an object hard enough, they explode
Skills: Having been through the Wakandan education system and scored quite highly, T'Danel has proven that, although not a genius by any means, he is still VERY smart and possesses the following skills: Incredible academic skill (Able to do maths at a university level, a firm understanding of advanced sciences and in-depth knowledge of human histories and technologies) Multilingual (He can fluently speak Enlish, Wakandan, French, German, Asgardian, Greek, Latin and a fair amount of Bulgarian) Vibranium Smithing (Although still a novice at this, he has studied with his aunt about how to smith the Vibranium to do anything he might need of it)
Cooking (One of his favourite things to do with his adoptive mother was to cook with her. He makes a MEAN apple-cobbler.) Hand-to-hand combatant (Having been trained by both his real mother and his Adoptive parents, T'Danel uses a unique fighting style combining traditional Wakandan CQC and Amazonian Gladiatorial combat techniques. He can throw his daggers with pin-point accuracy.) Appearance:
Standing at 5'9, he is still a growing lad. The musculature of his body is work-muscle, as opposed to show muscle, meaning that he is not as physically intimidating as some other heroes that are physcially weaker than himself. He has his fathers face, but tempered by his mothers eyes and hair.
Known Associates:
King T'Challa: His adopted father and mentor. The man his ultimate loyalties lay with above all others. Queen Ororo Munroe: His adopted mother. Former X-Man, he cares for her on a deep level. Prince Azari T'Challa T'Chacka Evan: His adoptive brother and next in line for the Throne of Wakanda, as well as the Black Panthership, however, is only 10 and not old enough. He still protects his younger brother, even if there is a little resentment over the fact that T'Danel will never be allowed to carry the Black Panther mantel. Princess Aja-Adanna Shuri: His adoptive aunt and his mentor in the ways of science and technology. She designed everything he uses. Normie Osborn: The Grandson of the original Green Goblin, Norman Osborn, Normie was born shortly after his father, Harry Osborn, was killed as the Green Goblin, giving his life to save his nemesis, Spider-Man. Normie grew up very sickly, wheelchair bound for a long time. His mother moved to keep them save from his Grandfather, Norman, knowing that he would use him as a pawn in his game. Normie grew up smart, like, super smart. Eventually, he managed to uncover his heritage, despite his mothers insistance on trying to hide it. He managed to hack his way into his Grandfathers company and steal a bunch of technology, blueprints and other things. Synthesizing a new and improved Goblin Formula, he used it on himself. He now goes by the Superhero hero name American Son He and T'Danel have been working together on the streets of New York for the last year or so since he left.
Known Adversaries:
Hatut Zeraze: Under King T'Chaka, they were the secret police. but when T'Challa took over and did away with his fathers more oppressive regimes, they were the first to be disbanded. A large number refused, stealing a load of weapons and going on the run.
Canon Basis: A combination of Hunter Prince, Magni Thorson and White Wolf. Bio: Conceived after a particularly heavy night of drinking after an event that saw a Odin enter the Odinsleep for the final time. Thor, one of Earths Mightiest Heroes, was set to leave earth, potentially forever as he took his place as the new High King of Asgard. He had a night of merryment with the rest of the league, including an intimite liason with Wonder Woman. The next day, Thor left and Diana had no idea of the consequences of this night. News of Diana's pregnancy didn't spread to Asgard until much later, however, her duty to keep protecting the peoples of the world didn't slow her down, even when it should have. During a Thanagarian invasion of Wakanda, Diana assisted in its defense, although she went into labour half way through the battle. The battle was won and Wonder Woman had given birth to him, Themyscira had an heir to the throne and the people of Wakanda were saved with a minimal amount of casualties, thanks to the League's intervention, this should have been a day of much rejoicing and celebration amid the destruction... But the problem was that Diana had given birth to HIM. Men were not allowed on Themyscira. Amazonian Tradition was that any son of an Amazon was to be traded to Hephaestus for the gods weapons. Diana first attempted to ignore this and took her son back with her to Themyscira, but those in the Council that were traditionalists refused this, NO man was allowed on Themyscira, no matter their birthrite. Diana was ready to go to war with the rest of Themyscira, however, her friend T'Challa offered an alternative, the boy was born on Wakandan soil, that made him a son of Wakanda. T'Challa and his wife to take the boy and give him a good life there, she would be able to visit him and even raise him. Diana gave him his name Daniel Prince.
Growing up in Wakanda as the Adopted Prince, Daniel learned from some of the finest minds Wakanda had to offer. Although not growing into a genius, he did grow up a lot smarter than most his age. He was taught to fight and to philosophise, he saw his real mother a lot to begin with, but as time grew on and Diana had to take on more and more responsibility with Queen Hippolyta readying her to take the throne of her own kingdom. Even after Diana becomes Queen, the council refuse to let her bring her son to Themyscira. When she finally decides that her family is worth more than her kingdom, she finds out it is too late. Daniel is 10 years old and has no wish to leave Wakanda or his foster-parents. He took the name T'Danel and hoped to become the new Black Pather, but with King T'Challa and Queen Ororo now having a son of their own, put that position in doubt.
At the age of 14, he was taken to the temple of Bast and he was given the ceremonial wine that allowed him to speak with Bast herself. Being given the wine and buried in the sand, he found himself in the presence of the cat goddess, where he begged her to grant him the title of Black Panther. He was, after all, a loyal son of Wakanda and sworn to protect his country and people at all costs. However, Bast had another plan for him, although the Black Panther did not lay in his destiny, there was another path that did. As he awoke from this vision quest, he had the heart-shaped-herb clutched in his hand. They then went through the old ceremony and he was administered with the broth of the Heart-Shaped-Herb, granting him the powers of the White Wolf.
As the White Wolf, he was given the task of hunting down the enemies of Wakanda from without. Specifically the Hatut Zeraze, the old Wakandan Secret Police who were under the command of the previous White Wolf. T'Danel hunted them to New York where he met his closest friend in the hero business, American Son. The pair became quite the duo, however, when Tony Stark came calling about his new Young Avenger initiative, the pair were initially hesitant. Consulting his father, T'Challa told him that Stark was a man he trusted with his life and that he should take him up on the offer, however, American Son wasn't willing to come out into the light just yet. Joining meant giving his identity to Stark and he wasn't willing to do that. T'Danel agreed to Stark's condition and made his way to Stark Tower, the former assembly point for the Avengers team, but now, something grander in scale and promise.
Teleportation: Ashe has the ability to transport herself from one area to another. Aside from herself, Ashe can also teleport others so long as she is making direct contact with them. Force-Field Generation: When teleporting, Ashe generates fields of reflective yellow energy, which are impervious to projectiles. Photokinesis: Generate and manipulate photons or light. Ashe uses this ability to create light, and optical illusions.
Above-average strength
Conscious Spatial Awareness: In relationship with teleportation, allows the Ashe to know where not to teleport to prevent unwanted telefrag.
Equipment:
Her clothes are made of a material similar to Spider-Man's suit which is bullet-proof and can withstand great kinetic force.
Skills:
Hand to Hand Combat Acrobatics Medium arcane knowledge - While she cannot do magic, Ashe learned a lot in her studies about magic.
Appearance:
Alexis is a very tall woman going up to 1.92m with dark hair and bright golden eyes which are a side-effect of the energy she releases when teleporting. Originally her eyes were green. She usually wears revealing clothes that mulate on her body.
Known Associates:
Jinx - The Teen Titan member who saved Ashe from Slade and then helped her redeem herself.
Peter Parker (Earth-616) - Spider-Man of Earth-616 was once an enemy of Ashe and they fought against each other a few times while Ashe was serving the Kingpin. Since she became a hero, they haven't seen each other.
Known Adversaries:
Slade - Ashe worked for Slade ever since she was 16. She acted as his getaway person and occasional escape artist.
Kingpin - Ashe's first boss that she betrayed. He put a price on her head.
Not much is known about Alexis's early years besides that she grew up in an orphanage and then ended up on the streets. As a kid she was lonely, always being picked upon by the older kids. It all ended when her powers manifested. Initially she could teleport only a few meters at a time and was barely able to create small illusions that were imperfect. It all ended when her teleportation energy destroyed a big part of the orphanage when it got out of control.
The incident at the orphanage attracted the interest of Kingpin. Upon discovering that the only survivor was Alexis, he provided her a home and a place to train her abilities in exchange for her obedience which Alexis was more than happy to provide. The next few years went in a blur as Alexis learned how to use her abilities better and was shown the life of crime. High-value break-ins and sudden maddess in those that fought against the Kingpin became commonplace and eventually Spider-Man got involved. They have fought against each other a few times but just before Spider-Man would be able to catch her, she'd manage to teleport away.
Eventually it all ended when Alexis was almost 16 years old. After many years of fighting for him, Alexis's wanderlust took over. She wanted to go out, she wanted to see the world instead of being trapped in a city. The Kingpin refused to allow her to leave as she became useful for him. A fight followed and Alexis was gone. Knowing full well that she cannot do much against the Kingpin she managed to escape narrowly.
Just after her birthday, Alexis, after a few close encounters with the Kingpin's assassins, found her way into Slade's employment. Her reputation preceeded her and she got a job with him straight away. It was just a small matter for her identity to be wiped and Alexis to disappear from all legal records.
A few months after she started working for Slade, Alexis felt at home again. Whatever was needed, she could get faster than most people who weren’t speedsters.
Soon after her 18th birthday, Alexis and Ravager, Slade’s daughter found themselves on opposite sides of a conflict. Alexis wished to grow in Slade’s organisation but Ravager grew to hate Alexis’s ambition and newfound attention. They fought hard and Slade, as any parent, took Ravager’s side.
Alexis was defeated and left to bleed out on an alleyway. Luck had it that Jinx found her and called an ambulance. Defeated and hurt as she was Alexis didn't put up a fight. A year later, after long discussions with Jinx and the other Titans, Alexis was given a chance. Turn hero and redeem herself or spend a long time in prison to pay for her past crimes.
Viral likes to think my middle name stands for him, but it's Vincent. For those curious.
Age: 20 Appearance:
From first glance at a distance Micheal might look more intimidating and much bigger than his actual frame. The lean framed man is swallowed by a massive hoodie that swallows his frame. Though he's always preferred comfy lounge wear, over what he calls tight clothing. A pair of cargos with a ton of pockets, he jokingly calls them his utility pockets. That's the truth to a certain extent, his pockets hold his keys, his pack of smoke, a utility tool, but nothing he suppose a hero would carry around. A pair of worn down black and white converse in a hoodie that doesn't belong to him.
5'5" he's not the tallest guy of the bunch and he's not built for strength much either. He's built for running or really, quick escapes and getaways flying from rooftops, soaring from rooftop to rooftop. Which seems impressive to others considering his prosthetic left leg. Viral does all the physical labor usually. He has a husky voice usually on the more hoarse side of things.
Known Aliases: Viral [Veer-all]
You're being a bit much.
Is this better?
Thank you for discovering your library voice
Venom? No. A four armed monstrosity takes over Micheal's form, revealing some 7ft, creature with a snarling voice, and a long tongue. There is no symbol on its chest, most familiar with what this is may see them only associated with the Spiderman. But Viral seems not associated. Despite its size Viral has well developed legs, a lean bulky frame, and a massive tail. As if its taken on some features and knowledge of its host.
Powers:
Viral has similar capabilities all Symbiotes share:
All symbiotes have the ability to form tendril-like pseudopods. Which Viral uses to deflect blows and ensnare prey.
Symbiotes have the ability to process breathable gases when the host normally cannot breathe.
Symbiotes can expand to considerable limits in order to cover any host or object. It should also be noted that their constitute matter is also somewhat bulletproof, it takes a few shots before someone can penetrate the suit and bring harm to the host.
Symbiotes that have fully bonded with their hosts have a more biologically complex symbiosis with their hosts, and can share thoughts and memories with them.
Powers of Viral -
Enhanced Strength - Name speaks for itself. Viral often times the muscle of the duo. Able to rip doors off its hinges, bend metal. He's so dense he can stop cars in their track. If the scale of strength is from Normal Human to Superman, Viral sits in the middle at Hulk strength, but not Superman levels of strength. His limitations seems to be at semi truck level.
Life-Force Drain - When Viral ensnare and entraps his prey, he then can drain their life-force from their body. This life-force is then synthesize for various uses, it can be used to fuel Viral and give him an extra boost in vigor. Not necessarily making him stronger, but making him breathe deeper, focus better. The second way life-force can be synthesized is used for minor healing affects, ways of repairing damage or exertion.
Minor healing effects in this case mean; *Notes from me I dislike healin' that can just solve everything so healin' always gonna be on the low tier scale imo. He can regenerate some minor wounds, gashes, and some deep cuts. But we're not talkin' healing from lethal injuries here. This use of life-force is extended upon Micheal because Viral protects Micheal.
Acidic Claws, Barb Tail Tip and Fangs- Viral has the bite force of an alien great white, unhinging his jaws and being able to tear into the flesh of humans and anything as weak as them. His teeth and his claws are coded in an acid that also burns their flesh, eating away at the wound. The acid last a short period of time, though it leaves a burning stinging rash afterwards that last a few hours.
Stinger - Viral possess a barbed stinger on the tip of his tail. Which has a powerful neurotoxin. When slashed or pierced with Viral's barbed tail, the neurotoxin enters the blood stream and begins to leave the victim with sharp nerve pain. Think a jellyfish sting, but at an intense level that could cause death, though most of the time those that get struck by the tail live in miserable agony for up to an hour to 24 hours. Depends on the doses.
ESP - Has the ability to sense incoming threats. It's not necessarily a Spider Sense because it doesn't sense danger, and is much quicker than Spider Sense is. But it can detect danger in every direction rather than danger from a singular space. Giving Viral ample time to dodge bullets, punches, and blows.
Micheal's Powers -
Even without the Symbiote suit Micheal had already possessed his own meta-genes.
Minor Regeneration - Viral only enhances Micheal's natural regeneration from minor wounds. [see my note about healing powers] It's Micheal's regeneration abilities from cuts, scrapes, minor bruising, that likely saved Micheal from the car crash that killed his parents. With the Symbiote suit - Micheal's regeneration is enhanced significantly. Again though he's not resurrecting from the dead and lethal wounds still recover medical attention. The way lethal and major wounds work with his regeneration is that the wound is partially regenerating and breaking down at the same time, giving him a longer window before death.
Equipment:
This is starting to feel like airport security. I don't really have anything special.
Usually carries on him a small travel size bag with some water in it Also a pair of tactical finger less gloves inside that bag
Otherwise, some stale gum - forgot it was in there honestly and I think a water bottled leaked on it. Getting it stuck to the nylon.
An expired coupon
Pack of cigarettes
Skills:
Viral tends to steal a lot of my skills
We share knowledge and memories. It is less stealing and me enhancing your natural capabilities. I am borrowing.
And I only borrowed those vehicles
Shall I remove myself from your mind and flesh?
I am only joking. You're really bad at reading tone sometimes.
Boxing - *Micheal is a skilled boxer, he's been technically practicing boxing at a young age. He used to watch his father's fights in the ring and copy his moves. His father was a well renown boxer at some point in time *Viral sharing knowledge with Micheal allows Viral to mimic Micheal's boxing style. All though add four arms into the mix and Viral can land a lot more blows than Micheal can.
Free-Running - Though derived from parkour, free-running focus is more on the artistry or performance, it is an acrobatic performance art. It is more focused on the flourish, rather than speed and efficiency. Micheal takes careful of course not to fuck anything else over. *The way this extends to Viral is that he uses this capability to make long jumps over rooftops, and can wall run on all fours. He also can jump over obstacles like benches, and even balance himself on narrow ledges that might seem impossible for something as hulking as Viral.
Car Jacking - I am not proud of my past, jacking cars. But I know a few things about taking a car. And how to hot wire it without needing a key. I know how to unlock the door as well without having to bust a window. Not sure how helpful that's going to be. -shrugs- *Viral while Viral is not going to be carefully unlocking cars and hot wiring them, he can use his constitute matter to take over a car and seize its engine for his use.
Writing - Just a hobby. Love writing short stories and poetry. Viral No comment
Known Associates:
Micheal: Without her help I wouldn't have found Viral that day, most likely. We were way in over our heads and we knew it. We just had to lick our wounds and turn tail and run. Well I was sick as shit that day, but I had to find Viral. That is if he wanted me. I admire the hell out of her. I didn't know who she was at the time when we intervened.
Micheal: Swore he was going to become my adversary at some point. You see Spider Man on the news and you don't get the impression he's going to kick your ass. Then he stands in front of you. And you're like yeah he's going to kick my ass. It started off as a misunderstanding. Viral looks similar to one of his foes. And he thought I was out to cause mischief. When he realized that wasn't the case, he apologized and became the nicest guy I have ever fuckin' met. He gives advice from time to time. Moral support when I needed it.
Viral: One day when we get strong enough, we will use this friend of ours to find the prey that I seek. It is good to have a strong ally.
Known Adversaries:
Micheal: The first time we met Silver Banshee we were way in over our heads. Course we were in over our heads. She was fightin' Supergirl for fuck sake. We should have known how powerful she was. But Viral a glory hog, he protest, but it's the truth or it feels like the truth sometimes. It's probably the first time I recognized I was in over my head. Way in over my head. In fact I thought I had lost Viral forever. That I lost a chance - at making a difference, maybe even redeeming myself.
Viral: It was my fault we got involved in that situation with Silver Banshee. I am a hunter. My directive is to hunt down foreign and alien threats alike that pose a threat. I didn't chose Earth, but crashed here. If I was to stay here, then I need help conquer its foes. I could have looked for a different host. Found someone stronger. Physically, yes. But not mentally. I wanted to find Micheal.
While Silver Banshee may had never sought the duo out, the day they had the guts to intervene when she was fighting Supergirl intrigued her. Another powerful entity, well they were weak then, but could grow stronger. Now she seeks them out, as she seeks out Superman and Supegirl with the same tenacity.
Micheal: All I wanted was to go to a concert. Like a normal person. And do somethin' good for my life. Instead I got pulled into vampire cult bullshit. The name Scream Queen should've given it away if I am bein' truly honest. I am never gonna be able to enjoy a soundtrack from Scare Tactics without havin' to think 'bout the night some vampires tried to convert me.
Viral: I looked forward to finding what Micheal finds interesting about the noise boxes of his he enjoys. He talked nonstop about this Scare Tactics. And while the noise from the speakers was scratchy and irritating, I do understand his enjoy. What I Do Not Appreciate is when someone tries to Dominate my Host.
Micheal was a long time fan of Scare Tactics, someone from juvie got him interested, Micheal spent an awful amount of time saving up money to earn VIP tickets to a Scare Tactics concert. Not realizing at the time that it was a front. Scare Tactics and the Scream Queens culty vampire groupies were using the VIP tickets to learn in potential victims to feed on them. One of those victims would have been Micheal if not for Viral. Who objected right away. This time they didn't get their asses handed to them, but they also didn't quite win either. The Scream Queen doesn't hunt them near as much as the Silver Banshee, but she holds a deep grudge against the pair.
Canon Basis: Micheal is actually a character who has elements of Eddy Brock and elements of Peter Parker. I wrote the character in response to both characters and kind of have a what if Peter Parker didn't have the opportunities he had and support he had. I know that might not seem significant, but hopefully that interest yall the way it interested me to ask and explore those questions.
Bio:
It sort of starts out the way it always starts out, doesn't it? You're living your happiest and best life, it ain't like there weren't any hardships. But it ain't like my parents were pieces of shit either. My Dad was a professional boxer, they use to call him the Dragon in the ring cause his fist hit hard and fast like a Dragon breathing fire. Course as a kid you want to emulate your parents so, I took up to copying his moves when I was young. Meanwhile, my Mom had a few bestsellers out. Even had a movie deal supposedly. While Grandma and Grandpa owned a bookstore on Mom's side. Kind of found that funny. I was born September 18th.
But I don't think anyone here is for my childhood stories told from rose tinted glasses. Everyone here is for the tragedy. When I was nine, December, near Christmas. When it snows in Jersey and York, and we're visiting relatives. As you do during the holidays. When a truck came screeching down a windy road, slipping on a patch of ice. Flipping us over. Caused an eight car pileup. Neither parent made it. Neither did my left leg. But they always say I was lucky and I should have died.
Only can tell that story with that much calm if I don't go into the details. So I am not. Rest of the story is as goes. I get taken in by my Mom's parents. The ones who own the bookstore. And then I was expected to get on with my life, you know. As most people expect a kid to do. We deal with the grief. Let him cry. Hold him. But it's back to school. Back to life as you know it.
Except down that road I took a wrong turn. Don't know if I was angry or had a good enough reason for it. But in middle school I started hanging out with the worse kind of people. The worse kind of kids, who probably need some loving and care from their parents. Who might see the only way to get attention is through negative actions.
Drinking at an early age. Smoking. Not really listening to my grandparents at fifteen. Don't really know what I was thinking, still asking myself that question. Don't know how I even got involved in petty crimes. Vandalism of property. Petty shoplifting. It was a thrill I guess and I felt alive. I had some good things still even then, good things I was ruining. I had my boxing. Still trained in that even after Dad passed and never let go of his coat ever since. I wrote to pass the time. Always loved art. Whether that be in taking the plunge, really got into parkour somehow after watching some kids at the skate park. Or writing stories. They say kids emulate their parents the most, guess I emulated them to keep them around.
I should have listened to my grandparents more I think. But I think I was lost. Searching for something meaningful. Probably took it too far when I stole the wrong car from the wrong person. I was pressured into it. One of those dumb kid things where we thought it would be so cool to do. I mean we had stolen their parents cars a few times. And once a beat up hooptie. But this was something different. This was a nice, luxurious car, sitting out in front of a poor downtown neighborhood. It was shiny and red. To get a joy ride in something like that.
Well lesson learned, when you're sixteen and steal some rich asshole's car. And after a laundry list of felonies to your name, they send you to juvenile corrections after something like that. I was in juvie for two years. Wasted all of my opportunities. With boxing. With art. With high school. All because I wouldn't listen and was trying to fill an emptiness inside of me.
I was eighteen when I was released. Returned to my grandparents, with a heartfelt apology and them accepting me back with open arms even though I screwed up so royally. Helped them after that, at their bookstore. Trying to get myself back on track after that. After all I had done. All the public destruction, all the petty theft, even crashing some rich guy's car and breaking down someone's fence. Maybe I'll write books, maybe I'll get back into boxing if they'll have me. That's what I thought to myself.
But instead I got the weirdest belated birthday present that year. Always enjoyed clearing my head in the great outdoors. Despite my prosthetic, I still loved taking hiking trails, still lived sitting out there listening to the sounds. It was a way to clear my head and also write in peace. Should've paid more attention to the news, but I don't regret it. Apparently I didn't get the memo of the meteor that crashed landed in some woods outside of York's boundaries. Or else I would have never met Viral.
Again, I don't hate Viral. Don't regret him becoming my partner. But it took us a while to get used to each other. I admit when I first met him I hated him, but that's because he had a habit of taking me places and not explaining. He used to take a lot more control over in the first few months we met. Till I learned to take back control from him. I think that's when he started to respect me more, the year after been much better because I think Viral finally sees me as a reliable partner. And the rest is history. I hope that we can make a difference, Viral and I. And I can fulfill the promise I made to him some day, after we get stronger.
