Cool cool. Alright, I have a general character concept already. It just needs fleshing out. I'm not sure exactly if I'm going to settle on Genin, Chuunin or Jounin, but I'm heavily leaning towards Genin.
Base concept?: an Uchiha who specializes in medical ninjutsu. Given that the Uchiha Massacre has been AU-ed away (or not occurred yet), I feel like I could even make this character a non-Leaf ninja, have them be an illegitimate child or something. Not sure exactly yet, but that's the general idea.
Hm... I would be less comfortable putting an Uchiha in another village specifically because of just how prized the sharingan is. It would be kind of a big deal... But I'd have to see the concept more fleshed out. If it's a good enough story and you've got specific plans for it, I may allow it.

Yeah, originally, I did want to go with a Leaf ninja (mostly cause that's where the majority are, you know), and maybe I still will. I just don't particularly feel like running a Jounin in order to do so. As far as feasibility, honestly, I find it almost unbelievable that there wouldn't be at least one or two illegitimate Uchiha out there. It only takes a single idiot, and that was the original basis for the Sharingan ending up outside Konoha.
As for a story...? Still thinking about it. But I was actually considering having the character hide their Doujutsu and use it more like a trump card, relying on their regular ninja skills to carry the day. They are well aware of how much of a liability it is, and they don't want to end up as breeding stock or experimented upon.
So, I have to ask, what exactly founded Sound in this AU if not Orichimaru? Are they still the same sort of nutters even without his influence?

Oh, Orochimaru is still around. He's quite literally the only one of the three Sannin that exists! The Sound is a bit more of a village than it is in the original, though it's still pretty fledgling and not completely built yet. It's piecemeal, but with amazing research facilities. Just... top notch. The rules are a lot more loose there too. Just... don't get in the Otokage's way and don't cause trouble or, y'know, y'could get dead.

Oooh~, this actually sounds (lol) pretty good. If Konoha remains off the table, I think I could throw something together that works for having them in Sound. The fact that Orochimaru still exists actually only makes my character concept even more viable I think.
I'm guessing either a Jounin or Genin is most preferable for the sake of character interaction with the plot? Or rather, I suppose I should be asking if there are any particular ups or downs to going with a Chuunin instead? That seems like a good middle-ground and opens up some more options in a village like Sound. Also means I might not need a full team of other players to really get into things right away, since the flexibility doesn't pigeon-hole them as badly plot-wise. Edit: Mainly, I noticed we already have basically exactly enough players for a single Sound team, so I figure a Chuunin is the best fit.
Alrighty, finally finished... mostly. Some sections of the backstory may need some more fleshing out (pending lore consultation), but overall, this is the finished product. I was originally trying for a Chunin, but if I've gone slightly above the bar (and I think I might have), I can switch her to being... maybe a Special Jounin would work? That's the best fit for her backstory, since she could be actively avoiding Jounin promotion, only to have Orochimaru acknowledge her accomplishments and basically forcibly promote her anyway, obviously while wearing a knowing smile for maximum impact.

Uchiha Nakano: a relatively civilian clan, Chinami is the only second generation shinobi of their line, following in her mother and father's footsteps. On a mercantile level, the Nakano specialize in the production of poisons and antidotes and greatly enjoy the medicinal revolution brought about by Orochimaru. They also dabble in the work of proper chakra-less doctors, performing surgical procedures and crafting remedies for common illnesses. It is only in the past decade with Ame Nakano's introduction of medical ninjutsu into her own practices that the family has started to consider employing chakra on a wide scale. As the vast majority of them have untrained chakra reserves, their capacity to utilize even what little they do know is further still limited, but they are nonetheless the go-to people for the average citizen when it comes to treating severe wounds. In a pinch, even Shinobi may utilize their services if a proper Medical Ninja is unavailable. After all, when the choice is them or possible death, just about anything is better than nothing at all.
Research Core Biochemist: While she is part of the regular shinobi core of Otogakure and still regularly performs missions, Chinami has made a name for herself in the medicinal and "development" sectors of Sound for her creativity and strange not-morals, performing equally heinous experiments but with a mind towards ensuring as few of them are lethal as possible. Her waste-not-want-not methods have endeared her to several higher-ups, so she occasionally finds herself collaborating on projects outside her personal ones. She has even worked directly under Orochimaru on occasion and managed to not get herself killed in the process, an impressive feat on its own.

While generally amiable, Chinami is a person who typically seems quite distant on the whole. She will give every possible effort to preserve the lives of her comrades, but she is pragmatic enough to abandon them if it might cost her life otherwise. Chinami is an individual with a mind towards peace; though one wouldn't know it. Just as her primary elemental affinity is presented as Water, she is highly flexible in every situation, willing to do whatever must be done to achieve success, regardless of morals. In life, she seeks the smoothest path towards optimized success with the ultimate goal of a peaceful life for herself. Despite this, she is not needlessly cruel. She despises waste in all forms, and she considers death itself to be an innate waste of "human resources" when a person could instead be repurposed for science or turned to her own cause. At the end of the day, she despises war and violence and wishes she could cut both out of her life and retreat into a quiet one of research and personal cultivation.
That said, Chinami despises the concept of "reoccuring enemies", and when it comes to choosing between her morals or nipping future trouble in the bud, she is utterly ruthless in the elimination of her foes. She considers talking to your enemies to be either a sign of abject weakness or great strength. In turn, she prefers to forgo talking until she has already won. Words are worthless to those she intends to kill after all.
Chinami's creativity and outside the box thinking lend themselves well to her study of Jutsu. Ironically, despite her bloodline, she has an ideology almost directly opposed to it on a conceptual level. She sees the Uchiha Clan as lazy, complacent thieves and disdains the Sharingan as nothing less than a crutch. Being forced to actually use it to win is almost a personal insult to her, and actually using the Jutsu she copies with it leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. Chinami instead prefers to take a precious comparatively few techniques and master them to the highest degree until she can maximize chakra efficiency and perform them without hand-seals. In particular, outside of Medical Jutsu, she practically specializes in the usage of the Academy Three and mere chakra-control exercises, stretching the limits of their ability to the furthest that can be managed and then twisting them into one of the most obnoxious and insultingly effective fighting styles in the land. Further, instead of expanding her Jutsu list, she finds far more value in shoring up weaknesses and attempting to make herself resistant to as many hostile effects as possible. In her mind, being able to avoid harm is far more important by any metric than being able to deal it; after all, so long as you survive, eventually, inevitably, your offense shall become sufficient in turn, and such things are useless if you don't live long enough to obtain or utilize them.
At the end of the day, Chinami has a certain understanding that her actions are often immoral, and she actively wishes to obtain a life where she will no longer be forced to take them. However, in light of her hidden Sharingan and deep ties with Otogakure, she can only see precious few methods by which she may obtain true freedom: either help Orochimaru obtain true immortality and/or the Sharingan... or kill him. Unless she achieves either of these goals, she can only see herself and her family hunted down in the case of a desertion. And while she has little attachment to the Nakano Clan as a whole, her mother still has her love and gratitude.

The Third Great Shinobi War was costly for the nation once known as the Land of Rice Fields. In that time, they, were allies with the Leaf, with the Land of Fire to the South, the sea to the North, the neutral Samurai of Iron to the West and the Land of Hot Springs to the East... and the village of Cloud further north-east still. When the war broke out, the Shinobi Clans of Rice were inevitably dragged into the conflict on the side of the Leaf. As a result, they soon came to find themselves acting as a portion of the war's frontline alongside Hot Springs, the two nations forced to act as north-eastern meat-shields to blunt the invasion of Cloud.
Unfortunately, the Leaf shared borders with nearly every side of the conflict, surrounded in nearly every direction by enemies. As a result, the Great Village, despite its wealth of resources, was unable to spare much for allies in the face of the dogged encroachment of Rock and Mist. As a result, Rice was mostly left to fend for themselves. In many ways, it was only Hot Springs blunting half the assault that kept either minor nation from collapsing completely, but as the war wore on, neither of the valiant lesser contenders in the war could keep up with the manpower and resources of a full-fledged Great Village, especially one that had seemingly no other valid targets.
It was into this turmultuous time that Ame Nakano was born a natural Sensor to a civilian clan of herbalists and poison makers in Rice. Unfortunately, this got her unpleasant attention, and she was eventually taken by the Rice Ninja Clans of the time to become a Shinobi, the beleagured defenders unable to resist even the slightest possible asset in the face of their current peril. Forced into the war from a young age, the little girl still held tight to her family's roots as medicinal providers. To that end, she took up becoming a Med-nin to supplement her Sensor abilities. As a relative noncombatant, she managed to survive primarily by sheer virtue of her medical skills and Sensor abilities keeping her away from the frontlines as a strategic asset.
Eventually, desperation drove her being thrust to the frontlines in the face of, not just an incursion or mere raid, but a full-on land and sea invasion by Cloud, who had an alliance with Frost (the latter being far too weak and low-population to do anything but capitulate to the former's demands to move troops through them freely) and who had basically steam-rolled Hot Water in the twilight years of the war, whose positioning meant they had gotten it even worse than Rice, being invaded by Cloud while Konoha tried near futiley to defend them.
Konoha couldn't afford to lose another flank and so send a counter-force to defend Rice against the invasion. It was during this battle and many more over the course of a long period that Ame met a particularly charming -or rather, quite charming to Ame- Uchiha as an ally, the two of them working together to help defend Rice through the next year. And over the course of time, they got to know each-other, fell in love, and -in the wake of waning Cloud hostilities- had a moment of impulsive, celebratory passion.
Soon after, upon experiencing sudden mysteriously familiar-sounding symptoms, Ame, being the fairly competent medical nin she was, quickly realized she'd become pregnant and quietly conveyed such to the Uchiha at the first possibility. After a bit of mutual panic, they discussed their options. Having gotten to know each-other well, the Uchiha knew she was conscripted into the war, so he offered to help fake her death with his Genjutsu and bring her back to her home. She agreed, and the plan succeeded. However, unable to do the same for himself without incurring great suspiscion and search parties (and remaining fairly loyal to Konoha besides), the Uchiha only escorted her part of the way and then returned to the warfront, saying he'd come find her if he was able and being told where to look.
He never returned.
Even many years later, Ame didn't resent him for that. After all, he would have to know well that his child could have the Sharingan, so the only thing she could assume is that extenuating circumstances were involved, to say nothing of the whirlwind nature of their romance and his own responsibilities to the village he had sworn his life to. She believed he may have died or been crippled, but she couldn't be certain. In some ways, she wondered if he might have stayed away for their own safety, considering that what he had done might very well have been an act of treason in potentially leaving the Sharingan outside Konoha's hands.
Upon her return, Ame was welcomed with mixed feelings. There was the joy from her parents at her survival and escape. But there was also the barely concealed disdain aimed towards her by many for being "used goods", especially once her pregnancy became apparent. The conditions being what they were, Ame found herself in the unenviable position of being conventionally unviable for marriage. Despite this, she was too kind to spite the child she was carrying or the man that gave it to her and set about picking up the pieces of her life, working with her parent's herbal business and beginning to share the secrets of chakra and shinobi chemical practices with her family, which earned her back some measure of acceptance from the clan at large.
In time, the child was born and given the name Chinami. The new mother doted on her little girl, who'd inherited seemingly not a bit of her father's genetics aside from the black hair, but then again, Ame's hair was black too. She'd never told anyone that Chinami's father was an Uchiha, so as far as the family was concerned, her genetics had dominated completely as was "only proper".
As she grew, Chinami's mother quickly realized her daughter had inherited her Sensor abilities and started preemptively training her in Chakra use, so she could potentially defend herself. And one day all too soon, Ame was unfortunately put in a position to be thankful for her own prudence and foresight.
At the age of 4... Orochimaru arrived in the Land of Rice Fields. Fresh off his flight from Konoha, the Sage of Snakes set to conquering a new country for himself. It was in Chinami's hometown that he decided to establish the new Sound Village proper and came into conflict with a local ninja clan. While the words of the serpent tempted many that had suffered in the war and resented the Great Villages -and the Leaf in particular, many others still retained a streak of pride.
Finding themselves unable to do much but hunker down near a deadly ninja standoff, Chinami was held protectively behind her mother's back, as the Sage of Snakes faced the locals. Probing attacks and jutsu were exchanged, the S-rank rogue seemingly shrugging off everything with nothing more than a knowing smile. After entire minutes of battle, a small eternity for a ninja fight, Orochimaru, having not yet made a single counterattack the whole time, asked a single, ominous question: "Shall we compare the strength of our convictions?"
Killing intent flooded the area, strong enough to nearly choke the life out of the faint of heart. Chinami's mother was a kind person, and though she had experience with war, she fared poorly, frozen stiff from terror. Because of this, she was unable to react when the few enemies that could still fight unleashed panicked, indiscriminate attacks, several thrown weapons piercing Ame, who collapsed, bleeding severely and mortally wounded.
4-year-old Chinami, torn between animalistic terror for herself and her mother found her vision blurring, her eyes burning, and collapsed atop her mother crying. But as she writhed and sobbed, Chinami heard her mother's consoling voice, and through clearing vision, she could see Ame's hands glowing green, the weapons that had injured her being discarded steadily one at a time, as she healed herself. Relieved, the young girl was bewildered, when her mother gave her a bloody smile and then a look of abject horror, staring at the suddenly crimson eyes of her child, the stress of the event having awakened her latent Sharingan.
Given the nearby shinobi, Ame was rightfully terrified for her child's safety, having personal experience with Shinobi wanting to take advantage of her own gifts... as a mere Sensor. The Sharingan being found outside Konoha in a young female? Villages might very well wage war all over again to obtain such a thing... especially the frightfully nearby Cloud. Abandoning any former illusion that she was just a random civilian onlooker, the still injured Ame grabbed her child, hissed for her to close her eyes, and fled as fast as possible. Whether it was because the shinobi were occupied or uninterested, she was not pursued. Once home, Ame impressed upon Chinami firmly that she should "never show anyone her eyes", and her chakra training was intensified in order to ensure she had greater awareness of her reserves and never accidentally activated it thereafter.
As a Sharingan user cannot forget anything they see with it, Chinami's brush with some of the strongest killing intent in all the Elemental Nations was burned into her mind, warping her perceptions and giving her an innate understanding of death from a young age. The kernel of unease grew into a firestorm of fear over time with her mother's cautioning words and horror stories of her own experiences, and Chinami came to seek nothing less than peace and absolute survival, voraciously consuming any scrap of chakra-related knowledge she could pry from her mother or divine for herself through experimentation.
Eventually, perhaps inevitably, Chinami's seeking power and knowledge ultimately came at odds with her limited resources as a mere civilian. Despite being able to learn the basics of ninjutsu and medical jutsu from her mother (and being rather creative in the implementation of such, since she really had nothing else to work on), Chinami's education was limited. She wanted to do more, be more. She didn't want to ever be a victim like her mother was, hauled off to fight a pointless war, and so, she decided the only option was to enter the Otogakure's Genin Academy at age 9, graduating at 12.
Not particularly wanting to stand out for risk of her Sharingan being exposed, Chinami took a slow and steady approach, training constantly and methodically in order to ensure success. She never even considering promotion until she felt absolutely assured of victory at age 14, much to the frustration of her teammates, but Chinami was both stubborn and cautious. In the years thereafter, she continued her deep delve into Medical and scientific practices, thoroughly availing herself of the Shinobi science facilities and unintentionally making something of a name for herself as an idiot savant. After all, she didn't know a single elemental jutsu, merely the nature transformations, which she used solely as a means to further her medical knowledge. Instead, she became well-known simply by virtue of how far above her apparent weight class she seemed to punch even while using what most considered to be the bare minimum.
Chinami cared little for her reputation, so long as she was making steady improvements and her Sharingan remained concealed. And the deeper she dived into the Otogakure science core, the more she learned about the true nature of the Otokage, Orochimaru, and the more absolutely vital it became to maintain that state of affairs. At one point, around age 15, after complaining about having too few hands and time to perform her experiments and being overheard by a nearby Orochimaru, Chinami found herself a potent mixture of relieved, perplexed, terrified and excited when he offered to teach her the Shadow Clone jutsu to solve that "little problem". At her wary, yet respectful acceptance, he showed her the technique all of once, hand signs and all, and then smirked knowingly and said, "That should be sufficient for the needs of an up-and-comer like yourself. I'll be expecting even greater results from now on, Chinami-chan~."
With that terrifying promise(?) of a statement and the unnerving knowledge that she was distinct enough for him to know her by name, Chinami set out to do as he ordered and meet his expectations, soon discovering the true utility of the Shadow Clone in its memory return. As a skilled medic nin, she found herself in an incredibly unique position of being able to make use of the Jutsu for training, her healing allowing her to dispose of the extra incurred fatigue. To say the least, being able to split her attention multiple ways accelerated her already prodigal growth to a truly frightening speed. She could now effectively live each day thrice over, so long as her Chakra held, sometimes even more if she was willing to really push it.
In the end, however, except in short bursts, Chinami only ever used 2 Shadow Clones to train long term, as even her healing and mental health wouldn't be able to handle the fatigue with more. While one clone would be dedicated to her scientific practices and supplementary medical knowledge, the other would be dedicated to improving her basic jutsu mastery and chakra control. Meanwhile, Chinami was able to finally dedicate her true body semi-full time to shoring up her poison resistances and practical medical ability even more fully than she'd already begun to.
However, Orochimaru was true to his word regarding the price for his aid, and with expectations of greatness came expectation of performance quality and competence. Far more often than she'd like, Chinami found herself acting as an assistant for the Sage of Snakes in his personal projects, being one of the few with the dedication to the medical field, comprehension of higher concepts, and the ability to apply those concepts if given minimal instruction. As long as directives and principles were clear, she typically only needed to be told once, and this let her live where many of her fellows did not after fouling up their portion of a collaborative process.
Fast forward two years to present day, and Chinami currently remained a Chuunin, having no particular interest in attained Jounin, nor obtaining the benefits and responsibilities that came with it. As far as she was concerned, rank was just a word, and she wasn't at all concerned with doing anything more than furthering her self-improvement. Why make it more dangerous than necessary, right?
Unfortunately, Orochimaru had other plans, and Chinami would come to find herself saddled with the rank of Special Jounin, a temporary state of affairs she was told, just until she shored herself up from a specialist into a fellow all-rounder, at which point the title of full Jounin was hers... whether she wanted it or not.
By this point, she'd solidified several tentative goals in life. She wanted to have a peaceful life for herself... and her mother if at all possible. In order to do that, she needed power. To get power, she needed to be a Shinobi, and sticking with Orochimaru would only accelerate the process. Despite this, she was firm about despising having power handed to her; what she possessed, she wanted to be entirely of her own ability. For this reason, she never even considered accepted a Cursed Seal, despite being offered such, and Orochimaru seemed both unnervingly amused and understanding. As a tertiary goal, aiding Orochimaru in his seemingly endless quest for knowledge and immortality would keep her own head off the chopping block, and her brain whispered sinisterly that if she helped him perfect it, she could use it too.
Barring that, she would have to find a way to kill him. She didn't know if Orochimaru knew about her Sharingan, but she suspected that he might. Considering his power, she could imagine he might have a way of prying such a secret out of her without her knowledge. Whatever the case may be, she didn't want to face him in combat. Though she feared him, she also strangely respected him, as a distant semi-mentor and fellow scientist besides. It was something of a last resort, but it was one she was planning for.
Lastly, she had never learned her father's name..., but with her Sharingan, she was able to search her mother's memories. She knew his face (at least his younger one), and she now knew approximately how his chakra felt. Were she to encounter him someday, she... wasn't sure what she would do. Not until -and if- she found him.
Water / Wind / Fire (untrained) (Despite the natural Uchiha affinity for it, Chinami disdains flashy Fire techniques and has avoided cultivating said affinity in hardly any way. Instead, she obsessively focused on far more flexible affinities: her natural water one and the wind nature that is seemingly quite prevalent and easily trained amongst Sound shinobi.)
✖ ‖ T a l e n t s
Absurd Pain Tolerance: Otogakure is not for the faint of heart, especially for a member of the science core, and Chinami has learned to put up with all-consuming agony in the face of developing poison immunities. Further, as she prefers not to gamble with the lives of others needlessly, she has performed much of her Medical Jutsu practice on herself, deliberately inflicting injuries and then learning through trial by fire.
Poison Resistance-Immunity: With access to the scientific facilities of Otogakure and the Nakano Clan, getting one's hands on various means of chemical suffering and death is hardly difficult. Chinami has long sought to remove as many of these poisons as possible as threats to her, and she has been carefully developing immunities over the years through non-lethal doses when she is not needed for missions. By now, the vast majority of standard poisons from across the nations have been rendered either completely ineffective or weak enough that she can power through and survive them with only her body's antibodies. As a result of developing such a broad number of resistances, even brand new poisons tend to be less effective on her and, at minimum, nonlethal barring the most extreme cases, which would require medical treatment.
Genjutsu Dispellment: There is a special kind of discomfort Chinami finds in considering the concept of Genjutsu and how they can wrest her of her senses; as such, she found herself motivated to counter them in particular, in some ways just as much as poisons... if not more-so. Between her own Sensor abilities and Sharingan to help her get a grasp of the mechanics behind opposing them, she has devoted exceptional effort outside her normal specialties to develop a keen sense for detecting and countering this class of Jutsu.
Delicate Chakra Control: Even a standard Med-nin must possess extraordinarily fine manipulation of their Chakra. For someone who has delved with a passion even further into the depths of biology and the core basic principles of Chakra usage, Chinami's control is exceptional by any metric, well above most other Med-nins.
Above Average Chakra Capacity: As a result of using Shadow Clones regularly to train, study and gain extra manpower during her experiments, Chinami has a fairly impressive capacity that has been further exercised by her constant intensive usage of Medical Jutsu. She can easily compete with most upper-tier Jounin in reserves but is still fairly outpaced by the best of the best chakra monsters like Kages. However, her preference for low cost Jutsu tends to stretch her reserves out long enough to fight just as much as even those that conventionally outclass her.
Biochemistry: Chinami has long studied biology as a means towards the end of her development of toxins and immunities to them. She is familiar with some of the most scientifically advanced and morally depraved technology and advancements in the land and has a general awareness of and ability to modify cells and genetics, assuming she is given proper facilities and time to work with. Even without such facilities, she is fully capable of field surgeries and can perform them with basic tools and chakra. While she is nowhere near the likes of Orochimaru in terms of using such things for Jutsu development, on a purely scientific (or whatever counts for such in Naruto) basis, she has the capacity to comprehend and apply the theories and experiments of the likes of the Sage of Snakes.
Cooking: Given that preparing food is basically just edible chemistry, a scientist of Chinami's caliber has something of a talent for it... when she can be bothered. Those that find themselves supping of her home cooking will be pleasantly surprised.
✖ ‖ J u t s u
True Body Replacement/Kawarimi: Allows the user to swap themselves with a target. This effect occurs so instantaneously that it creates an optical illusion, often fooling the attacker into thinking they hit. Despite popular belief, this technique doesn't require any manner of preprepared object (though one that is marked ahead of time is perfectly viable), nor is it incapable of affecting living beings (despite either ignorance or propaganda). Chinami near instantly realized the technique's true power, and it is practically her signature move. She can swap herself with nearly anything and anyone, stationary or moving, at will and without hand-seals. It is her most judiciously used and mastered technique, allowing her to perform a bastardized version of the Flying Thunder God technique at far lower chakra cost.
Transformation/Henge: Allows the user to assume another form, complete with every physical attribute (ie sharpness of a blade or fang). They can become another person, an animal or inanimate object, and the transformation lasts until the user chooses to dispel it or is rendered unconscious. Chinami has mastered this underrated technique to the point of being able to perform it at will without hand-seals, even in the middle of heated combat, able to make brief flash-transformations into smaller or more durable objects to evade or weather an attack. She most often uses this technique for reconnaissance, hiding in plain sight, or retreating. Her shadow clones make judicious use of this technique to counter unavoidable attacks and prolong their lifespan.
Clone/Bunshin-Bunshin Blur Variant: The base of this Jutsu is a purely illusory clone with no ability to affect anything, and said technique is usually quite easily seen through and good for little more than creating distracting afterimages or confusing opponents. In order to limit her enemy's ability to see through them, Chinami prefers to take advantage of the purely illusory nature of the clones and overlay multiple in her personal space, having them all perform different actions in Taijutsu in order to conceal her true attacks. As with Kawarimi and Henge, she has not skimped on learning to perform this technique without hand-seals.
Surface-Walking Decimation Touch: On the surface, the base of this technique does little more than allow the user to secure themselves to any surface, defying gravity. Chinami saw potential for more, twisting the technique into something new by deliberately misusing it in hand-to-hand, she is able to make any part of her body a deadly surface, using chakra to stick to anything that strikes her (or that she strikes) and deliberately botching the technique with too much Chakra, causing the surface/skin/body of her target to violently explode.
Healing: The precursor to the Mystic Palm, this lesser healing technique creates a white orb of healing chakra, which is passed over the injured area. It is capable of sealing up wounds and safely dissolving harmful chemicals, up to and including the sort that can petrify the victim.
Mystic Palm: User applies their hand to an injured location to induce the healing of either external injuries or even internal illnesses. The user must be careful not to use more chakra than required, lest they disrupt the body's circulation and render the patient comatose. Chinami is capable of using this technique on herself even without her hands.
Delicate Illness Extraction: As the name implies, an extremely delicate procedure to draw out a toxin or pathogen, more a long involved surgery than a singular Jutsu alone. First, the cause of illness is identified through observing chakra disturbances. Second, an incision is made using a Chakra Scalpel. Third, using chakra, a large volume of medicinal liquid is introduced through the incision, and the liquid absorbs most of the foreign agent. The liquid then serves as a medium for the foreign agent to be extracted from the wound and suspended, whilst repairing the damage the agent caused. The whole process is incredibly painful and is nearly guaranteed to require the patient to be held down. Even then, this technique cannot remove all the poison, merely most of it, so the subject may still be in danger without crafting a proper antidote from the extracted foreign agent.
Healing Resuscitation Regeneration: The near pinnacle of outside healing, an incredibly difficult and chakra intensive procedure that normally lasts hours and requires a full intensive care unit and backup shifts of inevitably tired out medics, all of whom must have incredibly refined chakra control. This technique typically requires a complicated, ritualistic formula and a medium comprised of the target's cells (ie lock of hair), which is converted into whatever cells are needed to mend the wound. For all the difficulty, however, this technique can heal what even the Mystic Palm cannot and is one of the only sure ways to save someone who has opened the Eighth Celestial Gate. Between her extreme chakra control and fairly large capacity, Chinami is capable of performing this technique alone; though she must still obtain a cell medium and have access to the prepared ritual formula. In emergencies, she can even down a soldier pill to obtain the chakra to treat the most severe of injuries.
Chakra Scalpel: Creates a thin blade of chakra that is capable of making extremely precise incisions even upon a body's internals without opening an external wound. This technique is often used by Chinami in an offensive capacity, and she favors targeting arteries and nerves with it.
Poison Mist: Combining ninjutsu, chemistry, and medical knowledge with fine chakra control, this technique converts chakra in the body into a chemical that is exhaled from the mouth, becoming a sizable cloud of poison. Breathing in even a small amount of the poison is lethal. Despite having trained resistance to the effect, to minimize risk to allies, Chinami prefers to modify the normal chemical composition and use poisons that can be conventionally treated if an accident occurs.
Body Flicker/Lesser Body Flicker: Allows the user to move at nearly untraceable speeds by briefly vitalizing the body with chakra. The cost increases with greater distance and elevation between the user and destination. Chinami prefers to only resort to this more expensive technique when Kawarimi is somehow unviable. Chinami's great chakra control has allowed her to dial back the force of the Jutsu, allowing her to move at greatly enhanced but far lesser speeds. However, using the technique in such a way is physically taxing and rather quickly nauseating unless she uses her Sharingan.
Shadow Clone: Splits the user's Chakra equally to create clones. These clones possess all the user's abilities and weapons, but they tend to dispel after a single hit. Any unspent chakra is returned to the user along with the clone's memories; though there is still a base cost to the technique itself, incurring a small loss for its usage. Greater mastery of this technique, however, has lead true masters to have clones that can endure injuries for a time or even permanently exist (as in the case of Madara's faked death). Chinami is far from being able to reach such levels of mastery, but she has managed to minimize the chakra loss of the technique, her clones appearing with little to no smoke unless she wishes it. Chinami can make up to 5 clones -6 if she is at full capacity and willing to exhaust herself; though she rarely utilizes more than 1-2.
Shuriken Shadow Clone: Despite the name, technically, this technique can duplicate any inanimate object. As with the regular Shadow Clone, complicated technology is outside its remit, but the number of duplicates is far more for the chakra expenditure. Chakra cost tends to depend on size as much as number, so this is limited to small projectiles under most circumstances. Its flashy nature appeals poorly to Chinami. But when she does use it, she most often duplicates kunai armed with explosive tags.
Sensing: Allows Chinami to change her chakra to "sensor type", enabling her to locate and track targets through their chakra signatures.
Anything Goes: Chinami's Taijutsu "style" is highly unconventional, and it is the only aspect of her arsenal that she feels absolutely no shame using her Sharingan to pilfer for. She has no set style, instead utilizing a highly free-form methodology that incorporates anything she sees that she finds useful or which she simply makes up on the fly. Her form is ever-changing and loose, jittering between vastly divorced disciplines as easily as she breathes. As a result, she tends to be highly unpredictable and unconventional. However, from amongst her pilfered and slap-dash arsenal, Chinami seemingly favors that which leans more evasive and indirect, preferring to chip away at her opponents, luring them into a false sense of security, as they are inexorably worn down... before making a single decisive killing blow... when she doesn't have the opportunity to simply lead with the latter.

-Some kunai. -Some senbon. -Several Kunai prepared with explosive tags. -Explosive tags. -Soldier pills (only keeps 5 on her at any given time, enough to supply a whole team with an extra for herself). -Storage Scroll (contains standard rations and water, backup kunai/senbon and explosive tags, local and regional maps, surgical tools). -Poisons (several vials of poisons that she coats her weapons with and has already gained personal immunity too, including: a nonlethal paralytic (in small doses), a lethal paralytic that targets respiratory systems, a sleeping toxin, and a truth toxin for interrogation.) -Antidote kit (a self-made kit filled with various chemicals and poison samples). -Medical kit. Healing Resuscitation Regeneration Formula (Stored in a dedicated scroll, a 15x20 foot slab of stone marked with the complicated array required to perform Chinami's strongest healing technique.)

Ruthlessly efficient to a degree that borders on the obnoxious, Chinami is patient and methodical. She refuses to engage her opponents in conversation if at all possible and is more than willing to win simply by outlasting opponents' chakra reserves using her far less expensive techniques. She is a hit and run brawler who focuses on controlling both her opponents' and her own position on the battlefield. She fights dirty, resorting to poisons, traps and any manner of indirect combat she can perceive. If given the opportunity, she would much prefer to retreat and then assassinate her foes in their sleep. Goal oriented as she is, she is perfectly willing to run away if it would still lead to success of her overall mission. She will only fight head on if she is forced to, and her enemies quite often regret forcing the matter.
In the course of evasion and battlefield control, she will heavily lean into obnoxious amounts of Kawarimi and pull a discount Flying Thunder God, swapping herself with her own thrown weapons or with her opponents themselves in order to place them in compromising positions. A favorite tactic of hers is to trap an area with explosive tags and then stand in the center and swap herself with her opponent. One quick detonation later, and that's usually all she wrote. If she needs to close the distance, swapping herself with a weapon that her opponent dodges to appear behind them is also a favored tactic. She uses the Henge to avoid attacks by briefly changing into small forms, hide in plain sight and cause mass confusion in combination with both regular and Shadow Clones.
And this is just the Academy basics. Already difficult enough to touch her as it is, many opponents soon find out that they were merely fighting a single Shadow Clone the whole time. And even should they find the real one, her battlefield use of Medical Jutsu makes it difficult to do anything permanent... especially once she starts spamming Kawarimi and the Body Flicker to retreat.
If she is forced into melee for extended periods, she makes judicious use of Chakra Scalpels and bastardized employments of chakra control exercises like tree climbing. In the latter's case, if she finds herself in a grappling position, she will deliberately pump excess chakra into the target as if trying to grip them, causing the contact point to violently and gruesomely explode. Her Taijutsu style itself places high value on agility and death by either a thousand cuts... or a single devastating blow. As a result of being half self-taught and her Sharingan copying a wide variety of techniques, Chinami's Taijutsu has no true structure. It's an almost "anything goes" methodology she uses, cherry-picking whatever action she feels would best suit the situation with no regard for form. However, she does tend to avoid grapples and head-on attacks simply due to her feminine physique, favoring constant disengagement in order to reset the exchange and reengage her hit-and-run tactics.
Despite its utility, she is heavily reluctant to use the Sharingan and almost exclusively does so while under a Henge to hide her eyes. It is nothing less than an absolute trump card, saved for certain life-or-death situations and is often used in blink-and-you-miss-it flickers of action. The combination of her Sharingan slowing down her perceptions and her specialty in Kawarimi means that once she starts using it, it's almost impossible to keep up with her without similar perception enhancement.
