Cringey title aside, it's lovely to meet all of you. My name is Jess, otherwise known as EngigmaticEntity. I'm fine with whatever pronouns you call me, I don't judge, haha. Anyhow, after a few months break of roleplaying and deciding to drop off other types of roleplaying platforms due to either toxicity or failing to meet my personal expectations, I decided to give this place a try! Heard it was pretty interesting from a friend of mine. Let's see, that aside, where shall I start...
I've been roleplaying for nearly six to seven years now, starting with fantasy and slice-of-life roleplays to pretty much expanding to other genres as I have grown accustomed to writing and interacting with others. I am currently pursuing writing as a profession, and I find that roleplay is an excellent way to practice my writing during my free time, along with potentially getting inspiration of how to improve my own writing by observing others. As such, roleplaying has earned a special place in my heart and I hope to continue this small-time hobby even in my latter adult years.
My writing is usually descriptive and tends to be lengthy, so considering that, I would say I am a literate to novelist writer on average. However, I am also capable of matching my roleplay partner's writing ability when needed, though I will admit -- some of my mature writing sense may occasionally slip through as the roleplay delves deeper. As for the types of roleplays I prefer, I still very much love fantasy and slice-of-life oriented roleplays, but I can definitely extended out to other types if I find the overall flow, characters, and plot intriguing. Not sure if I can do specific types of roleplays oriented around certain fandoms though, as my interests never really stick for long. As for my reply/response time, I would say it varies. There are times when I find myself hardly able to reply (mainly due to stuff in my personal life) and there are other times where I would be capable of replying relatively quickly. Either way, please bear with me if we do end up engaging in a roleplay together!
Roleplaying aside, other main hobbies include playing video games, singing, and expanding my knowledge in any way possible (documentaries, podcasts, you name it!). Some video games I am fond of mainly consist of farming or life sim games like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing, though my all-time favorite series would definitely be Pokemon. Singing is something that ties to another passion of mine -- musicals. I am especially fond of Phantom of the Opera, which has unexpectedly taken over my life in the past few months. As for what content I absorb, I mainly watch crime or history-related topics. I am also a HUGE horror fan, which will become evident in the genres and topics I dabble with.
