Name:Roger Conti
Gender:Cis Male
Sexuality:Asexual
Age:19
Species:Capybara
Diet:Herbivore
Height:5â4ââ
Weight:132 lbs
Physique:Average, maybe needing to lose a few pounds
Appearance:Roger is a Capybara, the largest species of rodent in the world. As he is from a larger species, he isnât immediately recognizable as a rodent. His height would be considered average compared to a lot of other species. He is covered in a light blond-brown mixed color fur that encapsulates his whole body. On the top of his head is a small smattering of black hair, which he tends to keep in a messy style. Rogerâs eyes are a deep brown, but are obscured behind his black rimmed glasses. An odd feature of Capybaraâs are their webbed fingers and toes, as they spend a lot of their lives in the water.
Style wise, Roger is quite basic. If given the choice he would just always blue jeans and a graphic t-shirt. Most of the shirts Roger owns mean something to him, usually being adorned with images of a character he likes or a movie poster. Due to his webbed toes, Roger needs to wear footwear specifically designed for Capybaras. There isnât a whole lot of variety with these custom shoes, so Roger just owns two pairs of running shoes, one black and one blue, some gray boots, and a nice set of black dress shoes.
Personality:Roger is a very exuberant individual, exuding positive vibes and friendliness. Roger has always had an easy time making friends, but only a few will ever see the true Roger. A quirk of Roger is that he can go on and on about topics of interest, sometimes missing social cues that he should perhaps stop talking. But he is always in good spirits when this is brought up as he doesnât mind the help.
Roger can also get attached too easily, becoming a fierce defender of people he doesnât know well. This might have something to do with the fact that he feels that he constantly has to work at maintaining friends. Deep in Rogerâs mind, he thinks that unless he is always being joyous and helping others, that it will cause the others to leave.
When it comes to his goals, Roger is single minded. Itâs not a question for him of if he will become a director and make films, but rather a question of when. This also extends to when he joins a project or volunteers himself. Roger will focus intently on getting a task done, to the point that he can sometimes neglect other aspects of his life, like forgetting to eat or lessening his social life.
History:Born on the New Jersey coast, Roger would be born into a large family of Capybaras. Roger was the first born of a second litter, making him the fifth of eight children. Thanks to his motherâs successful career as a real estate agent, they managed to secure a house not too far from the famous Jersey shore beach. Most families living there would frequent the ocean quite often, as the neighborhood was mostly populated with aquatic mammals. The beach was the key place to hang out for the youth, Rogerâs siblings spending a lot of their free time there. But Roger didnât really care for the water, instead preferring to hang out in the city.
It was there in the city that Roger found the old Gold Stars Cinema, a classic movie theater. Roger quickly became enamored with the cinema, as it showed many old and eclectic films, stuff the bigger theaters wouldnât bother with. It was at one of the cinemaâs horror film Fridays that Roger met Fred, a European Mink. The two would quickly become friends, bonding over film. Fred also disliked the beach, having nearly drowned as a child.
Roger and Fred began to get very into film culture, quickly amassing a large movie collection between the two of them. This would eventually lead to the pair wanting to talk about these movies. They got the chance when Roger was gifted a video camera for his birthday. Using the camera, Roger and Fred began posting movie reviews to the Internet. They managed to get a decent number of subscribers, prompting them to invest more into the videos.
As high school was ending, Roger and Fred had a choice to make. Roger wanted to continue working with film and become a director, while Fred wanted to continue his familyâs tradition of being engineers. So it was in the summer after finishing high school that Roger and Fred released their last review. Fred would move to Berkeley, California to attend University of California-Berkeley. Then it was the time for Roger and several siblings to attend college. The Conti parents were emotional as their kids left for different corners of the country, Roger ending up in New York for Eukary Universityâs film program.
Roger would move into a dorm on campus, sharing it with another student. Roger would throw himself into his studies, not taking much time to relax. But he did decide to relax by attending a live event for a YouTuber he watched. While at the event, Roger was recognized by the YouTuberâs producer, for his movie reviews. They began to chat, the producer ultimately offering Roger an internship working on the YouTuberâs Podcast. Roger immediately accepted, realizing how good for his career this could be.
So now Roger is balancing film school and an internship, which is becoming quite hectic. Only time will tell if Roger can manage this or if heâll cave to the stress.
